NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 07/12/2005 11:21

I'd like to join too please

I found out yesterday and EDD is 15th August. Just waiting for a midwife appt now.

Congratulations to everyone else

Arabica · 07/12/2005 11:26

Hi New Bethlehem Girl! Congratulations. I'm feeling a bit slack cos am not going to the GP until 16 December! I wouldn't get an appointment with midwife until wk 12 anyway, so figured there was no rush pressing for an earlier appt. Mumswish, I have DS who is 5 in April.

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 07/12/2005 11:28

I'm Nbg normally if anyone was trying to work the name out, lol!

Is it right you have to wait longer for midwife appts now?
I really want to go and get all the nasty blood tests out of the way.

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 11:31

NBG - congrats and welcome

Not too sure to be honest, I know that at the hosp I'm going to they don't like to see you before you're 12 wk scan. but they do take on earlier if requested my our gp.

Well the midwife is calling tomorrow so I'll find out then.

Will be back tomorrow, got to go now

wilbur · 07/12/2005 11:49

Just popping in to say congrats to the Aug 2006 crew - my Aug 2005 baby is currently sitting on the sofa smiling like a little cherub. Good luck and hope you all have wonderful pregnancies and lovely babies.

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 11:58

Thanks Wilbur and Congrats on your little bundle of joy.

Nbg - congrats.
You have to wait different lengths of time in diffferent areas to see the midwife. I saw mine at 8 wks and haven't seen or heard from her since. I was told i couldn't have my bloods done until after 12 wks. I won't see the midwife again until 24 wks. She booked my scans for me there and then, then sent me on my way.

mygarland · 07/12/2005 13:59

mxw - good choice on hosps. I was bleeding 40wks0days and local hosp doesn't take on anything other than absolutely normal. Rang hosp was put thru to Shrews was told to go to certain ward but when I got there they said they didn't know I was coming and they were busy. I wouldn't go tho as other hosp wouldn't have plus it was 20miles away! DH didn't leave til 4hrs later (afer visits) and staff were ok, it was ok overall. I stayed in 1 night and they wanted me to stay in longer there or transfer me to local, but i didn't even have to stay in 1 night with dd2. think u've made right choice tho

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 14:05

My best mate had to stay in for over a week, her litte girl has a deformed kidney, they were extremely strict with her they had him out within 1/2 hour. He was only allowed to visit between 12&3 and 6&8!! I know for a fact that I couldnt cope being with DF for that long esp with all the stress you've just gone through!! Mind you saying that, Wrex actually take the baby to a nursery and we don't want that either so hence the want for a private room. I actually want a home birth but now I'm really...... racing ahead of myself!! lol

Congratulations to everyone.

I am feeling very queasy, been to doctors this morning he has informed midwife who will be in touch and gave me folic acid,

EDD is 13th Aug.

Weighed me and took BP which was fine.

I already have a little girl who is very nearly 2, so this is baby no 2

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 14:55

Awww you'll be making a lovely little family then. Glad to hear everything went good this morning at the docs, I had to p in a cup and prove to them I'm pg, going back on mon, to get the results. LOL annoying docs.

pucca · 07/12/2005 14:57

My doctor just said no i dont need to test, the home tests are as good if not better than the ones we use, he just took my word for it ...but then ive been there before lol.

I have just done 2 cheap tests off ebay because i am still in shock pmsl

Do you feel sickly mumswish? xx

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 15:00

I don't feel sick all the time, I feel now and then as though I'm gonna throw up on my boss. lol Have to keep running to the toilets just in case. I keep prodding my boobs to make sure they still hurt (thats enough of a test result for me) although I've finished off the rest of the cheapy tests I had just to prove to me & Df that i was.

I keep getting hiccups which is driving me mad, dunno if thats pg related.

OP posts:
pucca · 07/12/2005 15:01

I think the hiccups may well be, as is indigestion unfortunately.

Did your doctor give you folic acid?

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 15:08

No, I've been on folic acid for a few months now, cos we were going to start ttc in the new year anyway so this is just early. Although still not sure how it happened. Was on pill. lol

Hello everyone!!! Congratulations to all!
My name is Paola and I'm 5 weeks 4 days, my due date is 5th of August! I'm 26 and live in London, this is my first! so exciting...

Good to see people have been visiting the docs. I went there last week and they also took my word for it and sent me to hospital straight away for the blood test and to book the scan for 12 weeks. My hospital was nice which is a huge relief.

How are you all feeling? I've had no sickness yet just getting lots of nice sleep (about an extra hour) and also feeling bloated most of the time!

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 15:16

congrats

I'm feeling ok for now, am expecting really evil sickness to hit soon tho. not looking forward to that.

OP posts:
pucca · 07/12/2005 15:18

Congrats Rockmum.

I also am feeling very bloated (feel 6 mth already lol)

Its great when you are pregnant with your 1st as you can relax etc, i have a toddler to run around after which should be fun when i am huge lol

DinosaurInAManger · 07/12/2005 15:20

Congrats August 2006 people - my August 2004 baba is now a big lump of 16 months - just wanted to send you all best wishes!

pucca · 07/12/2005 15:21

I am getting alot of niggily stretch pains, remember that from my 1st though.

I am also quite apprehensive as with my daughter i suffered a very nasty 3rd degree tear so a little worried that might happen again, my daughter was quite big though. I went 4 days over and she was almost 9lb.

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 15:24

wow!! big girl!

I've got a constant niggle about an early missed mc that I had so i'm worrying about that but apart from that i'm feeling quite good about this time.

OP posts:
pucca · 07/12/2005 15:27

Mumswish, having lots of symptoms is a good sign.

I very sorry to hear about your m/c

xxx

mumsXMASwish · 07/12/2005 15:29

No need for sorry's pucca, it was one of those things that I could do nothing about and although I do with I had that baby, there's a new one to worry about now.

I keep prodding places to see if I can find new things, I keep prodding my boobs to make sure they're still sore, belly to see if I'm gonna be sick it's crazy!

OP posts:
rockmum · 07/12/2005 15:31

Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear about it too. All we can do is relax, don't worry too much about what might happen until it actually happens!

Must be great to be on your second! I would love to have the second striaght away but the nursery fees worry me and will probably wait until the 3rd year.

I can't stop reading my book What to expect when you are expecting and am already on the diet they suggest, I made a list of stuff I should be having each day and all, and I feel like a pig eating 6 times a day!
