Very, very sorry to hear your news, webchick . What a horrible thing to happen. I have had a miscarriage myself and got a lot of support from mumsnet. Some people want to try again straightaway and others (like me) can't face it. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best.

Arabica · 23/01/2006 11:20

I won 3 out of 4 of my ebay things! I got combats, jeans and a swimsuit. I know you're supposed to bid in the last seconds but I would have been taking DS to school when they closed. I guess I was just lucky, nobody else my size was shopping.

purpleturtle · 23/01/2006 12:37

Be careful, Arabica. Ebay gets addictive!

Webchick, so sorry to hear sad news from you. I wish you all the best for the future.

Nbg · 23/01/2006 13:03

So sorry to hear your news Webchick.
I hope you are feeling reasonably well and you get all the support you need. Like Arabica says MN is great for that.
All the best for your future and hope you'll be back on these boards pretty soon

Welcome back Kitegirl (have replied to your email btw) Glad to hear you had a good time. I'm not all jealous

I'd love to do pregnancy Yoga Arabica, sadly that sort of thing hasn't caught on round here. I really wanted to do baby yoga when dd was born but nobody seems to do it.
Have got some bits of ebay myself, some t shirts and jeans.

I forgot to mention to you all about Asda. I'm sure someone had said that they don't do Maternity anymore, well my mum has got me some lovely combats from her local store for £16 so they definatley still sell it.

kitegirl · 23/01/2006 13:33

anyone know good online/catalogue shops for good, cheap maternity basics? We don't have Asda around here! I don't want to spend £40 on a flippin' long-sleeved t-shirt (as featured in one of the shops I just visited).

pucca · 23/01/2006 13:38

NBG...Read on the other thread that your MW found heartbeat with a doppler...how many weeks are you? and was it very low down to be able to hear it?

Nbg · 23/01/2006 13:39

Have you had a look on ebay?

Try out Vertbaudet but I'll be honest I have had nothing but trouble with them recently.

La Redoute have some lovely new bits in too.

olivo · 23/01/2006 13:42

We don't have asda either - whenever I go to visit my sister, I stock up on lots of things but not due a visit in the next 6 months!!

got a bit of pain today - I'm hoping its constipation ( sorry, tmi!! but I do suffer from IBS) will anyone own up to having it so I can compare?!?! its very low, left hand side and I'm really bloated. I pray that's what it is but am quite worried. Keep rushing to the loo.

your ebay stuff sounds good Arabica! will have to have a look...

Nbg · 23/01/2006 13:43

I'm 10+6 but she did it on Saturday so I was 10+4.

She felt my belly and then she decided to find it, failed and said let me check your belly again and then said that "she should be able to find it" and did!

To be really honest I am massive My bump is huge. I'm not getting my hopes up but I wouldn't be suprised if I am further along or I'm having Quints

Nbg · 23/01/2006 13:43

Olivio it does sound like constipation especially if you feel bloated too.

pucca · 23/01/2006 13:45

NBG...I am asking as i tried to find heartbeat last night with no luck, not really sure of my dates though atm, i have my scan next weds though so shoudl know for sure then, i still haven't seen a MW at all yet. Very odd!!

pucca · 23/01/2006 13:46

I should be 11+2, but from what they said at early scan i am 10 weeks.

lunavix · 23/01/2006 13:48

I've got a few bits from dorothy perkins (nice tracky bottoms, jeans and some basic tops)
a few bits from next (combats denim skirt 3pack of tops and some other bits)
some bits off ebay (a few tops and some black trousers, not keen on the tops now they're the funky halterneck ones with baggyish front that look very trendy but I don't think my boobs would fit in now lol! If anyones interested they're a size 10!)
and I'm just getting some bits off a mumsnetter... lots of jeans, tops etc... hoping this will do me for a while :D

Nbg · 23/01/2006 13:51

Pucca she found it in the middle of my belly button and pubic bone. Very central but she was all over with the doppler to start.

Remember that your little bean will only be as big as a strawberry
I was told there was no way you could find the heartbeat before 14 weeks, 12 weeks at the earliest.

My midwife wouldn't even entertain the idea of looking yet this one went straight for it.
I really wouldn't panic.

pucca · 23/01/2006 14:00

NBG...Na i am not worried, i didn't think i would hear it this early anyway tbh, i would have thought it woudl be VERY low down though this early on...thanks for replying

olivo · 23/01/2006 14:02

Does anyone know if you can take laxatives when you are pg? never had them before but am willing to try!

Nbg · 23/01/2006 14:08

I think you can Olivio but not sure which ones.

Ring your local chemist and ask them which over the counter ones you can have.

Strike1 · 23/01/2006 15:22

Hi all, long time know post (well a few days anyway) So sorry to hear your news Webchick, there are lots of us here who know what you're going through, so you're not alone. I hope everything works out for you soon. x

All your talk the other night about choc chip ice cream has got me really craving it, I might have to sneak out!

I'm constantly paranoid that I don't feel sick enough, it still comes and goes but it's not as strong as it was. I'm 9 +4 from my early scan last week (which puts my due date at 24/08/06 not the 26th as I had thought) has anyone else started feeling ok about this time? Everything else still hurts (head, boods etc)

I feel really bloated and get bowel type pains Olivo, but I've heard that laxatives are safe in pg. Lots of fruit and veg (the obvious prunes!) and lots of water is best. Although there might be a brand that might be ok, check with a chemist or MW.

Nbg · 23/01/2006 15:39

My sickness comes and goes but it's not half as bad as what some of the others are getting.

When do you go for your next scan Strike?

Arabica · 23/01/2006 16:12

I'm after a maternity bra now. My name is Arabica and I am an ebay addict! Gonna leave it until very last minute this time.
I wouldn't worry about not feeling sick enough. I only ever felt nauseous once with DS. And the woman a few doors down from me has just discovered she is 14wks pg. She has had no symptoms whatsoever.

BigHotMama · 23/01/2006 16:12

Hi ladies, I've been trying for ages to get to the bottom of this page to write a message. I'm 12 weeks at mo and had my first scan last Friday and it was amazing. I could see the legs kicking like crazy and even the tiny heart beat flashing. Everything is going well for me so far and have only felt nausea in weeks 5-9 so fingers crossed I'm rid of it for now. Its so nice to read all your messages, and can relate to so many of the paranoia's some of you have. I only wish I'd known about this message board weeks ago as sometimes you feel like the only pregnant woman on the planet!

Nbg · 23/01/2006 16:14

Hello!

Whens your EDD BHM?

Strike1 · 23/01/2006 16:34

Hi BHM, Congratulations! You're not the only one now there's loads of us (even a oct thread now I see )

I have no idea about my next scan nbg. The first one last week was a private one so I could stop worrying (like that's happened!) But I've still heard nothing from my NHS hospital/MW (Kingston). I've phoned them and they said they have my details but I've still not got any letter about any appointments. I'm starting to feel left out I might ring them again if I've heard nothing by Thursday (I'll be 10 weeks then)

I might not feel sick very often, but boy am I thirsty! I just can't stop glugging water, all good I guess.

BigHotMama · 23/01/2006 16:50

Hi NGB, my EDD is 7th August, whats yours?

Is there an easier way to reply than going to the bottom of the page? (I havent done this for ages)

olivo · 23/01/2006 16:55

Hi BHM and welcome!

Strike, do you really do prunes? you're a brave girl - I tried one and it made me heave . Went to the pharmacy but there was one of my parents waiting and so I was too shy to discuss with the pharmacist!! will ask the doctors when I see her on thursday - will have to sit it out till then! I know what you mean about thirst though Strike!

Arabica - I've been wearing a maternity bra for 2 wks now and I'm only 9+3 - it is so much more comfy!!

Does anyone else find that their sickness is worse if they have time to think about it? when I'm at work, I barely notice but at the weekend and in the evevings, it seems to be there all the time!!
