Are we back on form in the 'ahem' bedroom?

No? Well we soon will be ladies it's The second Trimester*

Oops, sorry Crazybit should have read your post about OH before typing mine. Didn't mean to sound smug Blush.

Kayano · 07/09/2011 20:20

Fundus, my DH is part amazing me, part doing my head in

He won't let me do anything he deems risky (bless... It's our first) He cleans , does cats litter , helps iron if I get too hot...

However, he deems stupid things risky and quite often silks if I do them. Like... Pick one year old relative up for a cuddle, eating medium cooked steak etc...

I call him the food and drink nazi sometimes lol

phlossie · 07/09/2011 20:20

Lovely DH, fundus - crazybit, yours wants to take note! It may continue after the birth, but expect to be shouting 'I AM PREGNANT YOU KNOW' when it comes to baby 3!

Zhen - that's good to hear - my baby's movements are like yours - more pushing and rumaging than kicks.

ZhenXiang · 07/09/2011 20:31

My DH has been good too, he cooks most of the meals in our house anyway as I normally work while he stays at home and looks after DD.

I am on holiday at the moment so have been doing more of the cleaning, but he has been giving me lie ins and nap breaks.

Probably would have done more usually but his mum passed away a month ago so he is struggling somewhat.

babycarmen · 07/09/2011 20:57

My DP is currently in the kitchen making me a tomato sandwich on request. He is just amazing, theres no way i could cope without him, i cant remember the last time i hoovered. Hes very protective over baby bump. :) Bless. He does moan occasionally but i dont listen Grin Im trying to make him let me do more for myself though as i know when hes back at work full time soon its gonna be a shock to the system!

QueenFee · 07/09/2011 22:30

My dh has got better with this pregnancy maybe 4 is my magic number :) He has been great getting up with the kids as I have been really struggling getting up in the morning.
This pregnancy is flying by. Cannot believe I am 17 weeks tomorrow!

Soothe · 07/09/2011 22:38

ughh the down side to being on this thread is that i ama full moth behind some of you! I too have a near birthday scan mid october but i bet my birthday is an older one than anyone on here Wink

Zhen - i am with you on the anterior placenta. My kicks have been rubbish so far and normally by 15 weeks i am feeling loads. I am glad i have my doppler to keep myself calm as i am a worrier

mellie - the woman sounds to have ishoos. I am sensing jealousy!!!

woowa · 07/09/2011 22:55

markin spot....in wron posture in bed to type!

18 wks today :)

m1nn1em0u5e · 07/09/2011 23:40

20 weeks makes my due date 25th January, when they did the dating scan they put my dates forward a week (was officially due 1st Feb) however, im sticking around here!....

Had my 20 week scan today, our little man looks perfect! So relieved as my 20 week scan with ds2 was horrendous & had to have lots of follow up scans, all was well though thankfully.

Good week all round for me :) My youngest started school, & he loves it! After having tears at the visits and him insisting all summer he was going back to nursery & not school! My eldest loves his new teacher....abnormality scan went really well & ive just submitted a piece of OU course work that was driving me up the wall!.... :)

Time to catch up on the house work & shopping tomorrow....but what I really want to do it go & coo over baby things in Mothercare & Gap....

Anybody know much about hypnobirthing?....

20 weeks today :)

phlossie · 08/09/2011 11:16

Great that everything's Grin for you minnie! My youngest (going to have to call them middle ones soon) is back at pre-school today. She's going to be four in a couple of weeks, and she looks enormous compared to the 3 year-old newbies! I'm 5' 11" and she's 91st centile for her height, so she's very tall anyway, plus being one of the eldest, she seems very grown up!

An ex-colleague was completely phobic about giving birth and she swore by hypnobirthing - it's supposed to be really good.

I'm eating my way through a packet of garibaldi biscuits (ravenous!) and watching my phone - one of my friends is in labour...

Kayano · 08/09/2011 11:37

I have an appointment with the hypnotherapist because of my (very extreme) phobia of needles and childbirth

Just waiting for it to come through Sad

littlemonkeybix · 08/09/2011 13:08

YYYYAAAYYYYYYYY!

I have just had a definite tummy twinge. I am definitely feeling the Pip!!

15+5 and only brewing my 1st!!

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

littlemonkeybix · 08/09/2011 13:09

Kayano

Wishing you all the very best!! I have major major fears about childbirth... but as have suffered with panic attacks and asthma through my years, I have many coping strategies that I hope to employ!!!

QueenFee · 08/09/2011 14:28

Wow monkey how exciting :D

I quite fancy hypnotherapy this time so many people I know swear by it.

InnocentRedhead · 08/09/2011 15:34

Most people seem to be having a fab time on here, albeit, a little tired or still suffering with nausea. I wish I was like that tbh, i'm sick of how emotional I am and crying all the time.

Please reassure me I won't be like this for another 23 week.

I do like feeling the little movements though, no regular pattern as of yet, but soon hopefully

17+2

ZhenXiang · 08/09/2011 16:13

Innocent - You are not alone. Having had a whopper of a headache all morning and return of MS, DH sent me to bed where I burst into tears because I had promised to take DD to the park and I felt like such a crap mum that I couldn't manage it.

Between week 15 and 18 our bubs double in size so I am blaming it all on hormones. You are 17+2 so hopefully the growth spurt and raging hormones will calm down soon :)

Kayano - hope they get in touch soon, haven't done hypnotherapy, but used to do a lot of tai chi/chi gung and used the breathing I learnt to help during last labour. Really kept me calm, hope they can help you x

Monkey - it is so nice when you start to feel them, reassurance in the absence of a scan that all is alright in there :)

Minnie - I am was due beginning of March, now end of Feb so am on both threads! Well done for getting coursework done, I would struggle right now to do that as my brain cells seem to have gone all mushy.

How is everyone else doing today?

15+4

littlemonkeybix · 08/09/2011 16:54

awww innocent I am totally exhausted still (had one day of feeling marvellous... back to exhaustion) and have emotional outbursts all the time still. In fact, I cried while reading this thread yesterday because someone said something nice (how ridiculous) ha! Properly had one big blub, then stopped! Crying while singing in the car... no relation to soppy lyrics or anything... just doing the usual one sob then carry on!

Also I spent most of Saturday crying. OH was being a grump, so I went upstairs to fold clothes, and cried and cried, and brought on a headache, and cried some more! Had it not been a hormonal incident, I'd have just told him to eff off and get a grip... as it was, I was just a silly quivering lump instead! Totally fine by tea time Smile

I think the main difference in me is the exhaustion has lifted just enough so that I can make more out of the good times.

babycarmen · 08/09/2011 17:20

Minnie Excellent due date.. my birthday :D Haha.

Feeling very tired today and i have so much to do :(

PDog · 08/09/2011 20:12

Glad you have had a good week minnie, sounds like you got a lot off your mind.

Any news yet on your friend phlossie?

minnie and kayano somone on the firt thread (sorry can't remember who) had a hypnotherapy session after a bad experience with their first labour. I think they found it helpful.

Yay monkey Grin. Still not felt any movement here Sad.

Hope you are feeling better soon innocent. It doesn't take much to set me off these days.

Well I am still exhausted and have a horrible headache. On the plus side nausea has almost gone and is much more manageable when it is there, no sickness either.

Also having trouble with my bowels Blush. Go for days blocked up and then the opposite. Tmi but I have been up 3 nights this week with horrible stomach cramps and having to sit on the loo. Doesn't help the exhaustion Sad

littlemonkeybix · 08/09/2011 21:00

I'm with you PDog so not fun! I'm going to be having words with the MW on weds Sad

woowa · 08/09/2011 21:55

Don't know about hypnobirthing but gas and air put me on another planet which was awesome! Totatlly recommend inhaling all the way through labour, not just in contractions for excellent pain avoidance strategy. I also had it when being checked over to see why I was haemorrhaging, and again when being stitched up. It's brilliant stuff! Although it could be why DD seems a bit odd sometimes?

Only joking Grin

I'm definitely less tired generally now, but evenings are still a bit of a wash out.

On the good news front, found out that the little boy born at 25 weeks to a toddler group mum came home last week, a week before his due date, and all is well, including that she is bfing! I had no idea our bodies would produce milk at 25 weeks - maybe labour makes it start whenever it happens! So grateful he's ok.

Is anyone pg with DC2 finding that this pg is going SO much faster than DC1? I spend almost no time thinking about this one and it's flying by. Which is good in a way, but does mean that it'll be christmas before we know it!

Soothe · 08/09/2011 23:59

Innocent - i am only 15+1 and still feeling rubbish. Planned a trip to supermarket today and had to FORCE myself not to go back to bed instead.... ughhh!

No bump at all just flab so no one would guess i was pregnant- just think i look untoned! Started trickling telling people today - feel a bit silly tbh so might stop now a couple know and just let word get out.

I have just ordered a couple of John Lewis throws to nestle under on the sofa in the coming months Grin I've had a few babies and i actually think feb is a great time to have one. Now we are over the worst we can start nesting in the winter months then do a lot of gestating on sofas through november and december. Then not too long after christmas...not too close to christmas. Still all snuggly and cold for all the newborn days and then sunny and nice when baby gets a bot easier. Ahhhhhh! I almost dared to get excited then !Smile

melliebobs · 09/09/2011 10:15

Just walked out of my 16 week check up with the midwife. Feel so underwhelmed it's unreal. Sat in a roasting GP surgery for 25 minutes then it all seemed so... Slap dash! I know they have other people to see and i know it's just a check up, but there was stuff i wanted to ask which is probably me worrying over nothing, but it was all over so quick and rushed that when she said everything was ok, that i completely forgot to ask anything. I was looking forward to getting to hear pips heart beat for the 1st time. She did listen to it, she said it was fine and it was wriggling loads, but i couldn't hear anything! It must have been so quiet and all i could hear was bloomin distortion :( DH wanted me to record it on my phone so he could listen at home, but it wasn't even worth it. And then she said, oh and don't worry if it gets to 22 weeks before you feel any movement! what?!

Crazybit · 09/09/2011 10:48

Nellie-Aww sorry it was a rubbish check up. At least she did listen to the hb, mine didn?t grr. I?m 16+5 and although I felt like some fluttering in week 13 ish, not had anything since and I?m on baby number 3. I?m sure you?ll feel something before 22 wks. Can you afford to treat yourself and dp to a doppler? There is what is meant to be a really good one for £15.49 on amazon or for a few more pounds you can get the recording cable and cds etch here for £22.95
Am toying with the idea of getting one myself..

Soothe-Am loving the idea of nesting, snuggling, and then sun comes out and happy smiley babies Grin

Woowa-I wasn?t that taken with g&a, but OMG, pethidine is the best thing ever! With dd2, I actually ordered a vodka and redbull from the mw as I thought I was in the pub the seconds after the pethadine kicked in. BlushGrin
Good news about the prem baby.

PDog-Poor you with stomach aches Sad Could you mention it to doc or mw and maybe get a prescription for something?

Littlemonkey-I have been a hormonal wreck too. Aw bless you at crying at something nice, I?ve been like that too. Very strange as I wasn?t like this in the other two pregnancies. Glad you?re feeling movements. Smile

Zhen-Hope your headache as gone. Could you get DD some little treats like a magazine or small drawing set to produce when you feel really crap. As in a ?ta da!! No park but new toy? kind of thing...

Innocent-Seriously, you are not alone. Hormones are horrible and ruining everything for me. Also, I wake up every morning, and think what the hell am I doing this again for!? Pregnancy is scary and hard and often lonely imo, especially the first time. We?re here if you need to chat or moan Smile

Kayano-Hpw lovely that you?re going to see a hypnotherapist, I bet they can help you have a lovely relaxed pregnancy and birth. May have to look into it myself actually.

M1nn1e-Glad all was well with the scan and your baby boy. Also glad that ds enjoyed school. Smile

Phlossie-This is my third pregnancy but OHs first, so he doesn?t have a clue. I may have to get stroppy until he realises that he should be ?-treating me like a princess an-- doing a bit more. It?s a bit hard to get stroppy when he?s at the other side of the world though grr.

Fundus-Don?t worry, didn?t sound as though you where being smug Smile How lovely that DP is being good, I hope it will continue after the birth but I wouldn?t hold my breath. According to sil my db was fab until she gave birth and then kind of just stopped!

Well, my DP isn?t all bad as he got me a span trip for my birthday which I used yesterday, had a body scrub and a massage, plus afternoon tea. It was amazing Grin

InnocentRedhead · 09/09/2011 12:42

Awww thank you all for the reassurance. Being in tears all of 4 hours today - only being up 5 hour!!! (by crying i mean anything between sobbing and tears on face) DP set me off earlier by saying he was going to take me out to dinner, and also being designing our wedding invitations to get sent out soon (well save the date cards) and doing that set me off!

Fingers crossed im not like this forever x
