Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

i buy a pineapple every week in supermarket shop (babies love it) but i think i'll refrain from eating it at the moment. we are sooooo not ready to have this baby yet! wrote a list in the week of things that need doing before baby comes and dp got home last night and added to it. he has washed all the babies stuff but it's not all completely dry, so im swelting with the heating on, while it sits on radiators, hangs over doors and fireguards! if anyone was to knock on the door right now they would think we were a laundrette!
ive had to iron loads this morning as well to get rid of it all, before i make a start on the newborn stuff. we have a lovely breakfast bar in the kitchen, which we have yet to buy stools for- so i basically plonk all the ironing on it and it was in danger of toppling over it was that high! Blush
so now i have a sky high pile of ironed clothes and limited storage. dd1 has no drawers or wardrobes yet so ive just sent dp off to ikea to buy the stuff we saw last week. (couldnt fit it in the car last week)
i think the object of this weekend is to be baby ready! i also need to organise and keep on top of twin stuff cos if i do end up with a c section, dp will be here for 4-5 days looking after dc's alone!!!!!!!! dreading that.
i know my mum will help him though, but part of me wants him to do it by himself and then he can see how tough it is. i think like most men he thinks i have it easy cos i dont 'work'.

sassy case in point with DH at this very second.

DH 'Can I take DS outside?'

Me: Yeah of course, don't worry about shoes as he will just want to go on the trampoline and run around.

DH: Come on K, let's go on the trampoline

Out they run.
10 minutes later (if that):

DH: calling me getting louder and louder and louder (despite me saying that I was coming 4 times)

Me: Yes, I said I was coming (as I waddle to the back door).

DH: Can you take him please, I am dying!

Me: No.

Penelope1980 · 17/09/2011 11:42

GroovyRach I was a big bodypump fan too, and look forward to that again later as well. I imagine I'll only be lifting the bar the first time back though Smile

mpops hope it goes well with your DH going away, I guess you just have to reasses it closer to the time?

I've decided to start counting to my more conservative due date rather than my earlier one in the hope it will make me less impatient, which makes me 38+2 rather than 38+6. I know it makes no difference, but now it's getting closer am trying to minimise the frustration if I go over!

Scheherezade · 17/09/2011 11:49

Right, can everyone please stop having shows and getting induction dates, it's not fair!

BB3 · 17/09/2011 12:01

Scheh I know - hey. By rights I am due at the very beginning of October (well first week) and I am having twins, so I should be having the first baby! ME!!! ME!!! - OK selfish rant over.

BB3 · 17/09/2011 12:02

Grin Grin Grin

GroovyRach · 17/09/2011 12:02

Penelope oh I know! I had built up to such a heavy weight aswell Envy. I can just imagine the pain on my first time back. The bar alone is gonna be torture!!!! Need to practise a few times with the baby first, ease back in gently!

GroovyRach · 17/09/2011 12:02

What is everyone's due date? I'm the 2nd oct...

BB3 · 17/09/2011 12:10

My hospital date is 11th October (so that's what I've been counting too) but I am 100% sure they are due on 8th as I know to the day when they were conceived as I did with DS and my dates were spot on with him whereas hospital were a week out!!

GroovyRach · 17/09/2011 12:22

Oh that's interesting! When I first done a due date online, I got the 7th. Had a private scan who put me to the 3rd then my NHS scan at 15 wks put me to the 2nd. I would love her to be an oct birthday (I am the 8th) but I'll do with sept as it will mean she is here sooner Grin x

cheekydino · 17/09/2011 13:06

Not sure if anyone else has seen the sad sad thread of cupoftea in bereavement (will try and link) - just wanted to say on here as well as on that thread that I'm thinking of her and her family and sending much love. I'm not sure what any of us could do to help or show how much we care, but if anyone has any suggestions?

GroovyRach · 17/09/2011 13:17

oh my goodness, i am speachless!! this is awful :(

PenguinArmy · 17/09/2011 13:35

:(

soundofherwings · 17/09/2011 13:45

don't know what to say Sad sending love their way

BB3 · 17/09/2011 16:07

God how truly awful - thinking if them all and sending all our love xxx

MrsHende · 17/09/2011 16:46

Just tragic. Sad

LittlePebble · 17/09/2011 17:43

It's so sad and so unfair my heart goes out to cupoftea and her family. Wish there was something we could do. Sad

CheshireDing · 17/09/2011 18:53

I can't stop thinking about cupoftea now and baby Beatrice.

I don't understand do they not check for Edwards on the NHS scans?

BB3 · 17/09/2011 19:07

Cheshire they check at the 20 week scan for any abnormalities but not sure if Edwards is a specific marker. They'll do further downs tests if anything is picked up at 12 weeks so I don't know if they can pick anything up for this then. To be honest i dont know much about Edwards. It's just so horrible to think about coming all this way and then having to say goodbye. I can't imagine what she is going through. Sad

mpops · 17/09/2011 19:50

This is so horribly unfair. I hope cupoftea manages to find some peace in her mind to enjoy her time with her little girl. There are no words.

CheshireDing · 17/09/2011 21:03

That's what has shocked me BB3 to come so far, poor little mite, it's heartbreaking. Maybe Edwards is unusual so less likely to be noted on the scans.

Leo4 · 17/09/2011 21:12

Cheshire they do check for Edwards in the NHS scan I was told my baby might have Edwards as talipes is a marker...And I speant weeks thinking my baby had it...Eventually I had an amnio which told me the baby didnt..but for cupoftea is now facing this sad reality and I know how I felt thinking my baby had Edwards, I can't imagine the pain she is going through...all my heart goes out to her and her family! such sad news xxx

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 17/09/2011 22:03

So so sorry to hear cupoftea's news hope she and her family are ok and have plenty of support. Sad

Penelope1980 · 17/09/2011 23:17

What terrible news. TERRIBLE!

LittlePebble · 18/09/2011 06:46

Can't stop thinking about cupoftea Sad
