Here we are girls. I think we are all a bit shell-shocked at the moment, aren't we?

Thinking of you DHW and wishing life wasn't so cruel sometimes.

(oooh dear sorry that was long)

LizzylouDonkey · 14/12/2005 08:48

They got the blood in the end...was a professional "Blood woman", she said I had wierd veins that crisscrossed??!! But I am a blood donor and have never had probs before!
I am sooo not worried about the baby being big..my friend was told when she was 34 weeks with her first that her baby would struggle to be 4lb at full term, she gave birth at 37weeks to a healthy 6lb 4oz baby girl...I have little faith with them to be honest! I have to say though, if it had been my first pg I would have been so scared, but as I have had DS and know a lot more people who have had babies now I'm not worried (until I need to be!). I think they worry women unecessarily TBH.

Newgirl, where did you go to in Morocco? We went to Marrakech for our honeymoon and I loved it, we also visited Essaouria (sp) on the coast which was lovely too....very jealous!

Munz, I think you should update the stats with "Conceived in a Caravan" for me and LLOver!

RosiePosie · 14/12/2005 09:23

It's experiences like yours Munz that have given me my phobia of blood tests, I think! I always insist on going to the Pathology dept. now ( although even that didn't work this time ).

Well, I thought I was carrying small ( as usual ) but now I KNOW I am. I'd noticed one of the mums at school was pregnant and casually asked her when she was due this morning, expecting her to say "next week" and she isn't due until the middle of April! She's so much bigger than me. She couldn't believe that I'm due end of Feb either. I felt a bit bad, because she must have seen the look of shock on my face .

Bet you have the big baby and me the small one Rosie!
Plenty of time for things to change and some women just have more water.

munz · 14/12/2005 09:30

lol RP - sounds like somehting i'd do! lol - the shock of having someone smaller with less time to go along! lol.

on the mat ward yesterday there was a lady there just given birth and she was smaller than me now - wasn't happy! lol.

LL - i'll do the stats for both of u - it was a case of don't come a knocking! lol

RosiePosie · 14/12/2005 10:00

Yeah, you know I think it is a water thing partly, because with both of my previous labours my waters have never noticably broken and at the end the MW's have said - "Oh! You've got no waters!" really surprised - so I don't think I can have much fluid and what is there must just trickle slowly away during labour without anyone noticing it - really odd! I do have smallish bubbies though - 7lb 5oz and 6lb 10oz so far.

Munz your cake story really made me laugh, in fact I am still tittering away to myself!
RP I know what you mean about small bumps as in nursery they asked if I'd been for my 12 week scan and I was 22 weeks! However I do believe that mine is bigger than last time and I do look pregnant even if it has an indent in the middle still!By the way RP your babies sound MASSIVE to me!
Had a shitty day yesterday after MNing as Tilly woke up and had a one hour tantrum/whinge. When DP got home I was burning veggie sausages in tears and a friend dropped by at the same time which was embarassing! Mind you she had witnessed the full PND last time too!
Got some email pics of friend's baby who is adorable and doesn't have that purple new born old man look at all! Oh my God I think I am getting broody at last!!

romilly · 14/12/2005 14:13

laundrylover · 14/12/2005 17:15

I've just realised that I am absolutely freezing as have sat typing away for hours with no heating on!! Brrrr! Think I will call it a day and head up to Mum's to collect Tilly and sup tea in front of the Aga .
Munz you just reminded me how low on pens I am - where do they all go??

JackFrostStini · 14/12/2005 22:16

LOL at your boobs Laundry! - Have been measured for mine today and desparate for a couple of non underwired bras - have gone from a 34C to 38D and I didn't really notice that much
Friz - how is the hair - have you managed to recreate it yourself yet?
Lizzy - glad I am not the only one with a bump bigger than should be. Am hoping is lots of water - am already getting scared at the thought of having to push this out in 3 months!
Had a day off with DH today - supposedly for Christmas present shopping (and we did do some) but he has also spoilt me with some new maternity clothes - bless him, he is lovely sometimes

laundrylover · 15/12/2005 14:54

Wireless bras are so much comfier and better for your preggers boobs apparently. I get mine from Bravissimo cos they do black ones which fit much better into my washing regime! Also they are used to enormous hooters and fit you really well. I just got a new one but got a feeding bra as it will last for longer. Think after that it could become a hammock for summer use in the garden .

UniSarah · 15/12/2005 21:57

hello all. sorry I've not dropped in for a while, been a tad busy with Pantomime. Pre christmas is my second busiest time of year. Pip is NOT allowed to come this early, I've had words, and so's his dad :-) Tho I have got someone lined up to cover for me in an emergencey. Pip seems to have got used to the Panto sound effects now and is just squirming gently , tho I got kicked hard and low a few times during dress rehersals at the loud bits!
UniSarah
If any ones bothered about stats- I'm 33 , live in exeter, its baby #1 and its a boy.

laundrylover · 15/12/2005 22:40

Sarah - what do you do as a job? i do hope that you are not the back end of the horse in your condition!

I stupidly fell down the last few stairs today and hurt my back and neck but hoping that an hour in the bath may have helped.

My friend's baby is now a week old and the sleep deprivation is kicking in - what have we done ladies???

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 16/12/2005 11:31

Ouch ll, hope your feeling ok now {{{Hugs}}}

Jackstini, no, not managed to do the hair again yet! the style has managed to hold for two days, but it really needs washing today! so far not had time to do it yet...what a scuz am I?! small kids in tow for you eh!

Munz nice furniture!

RP, don't worry about it, I asked someone a few months ago who was due way after me

Nothing much going on here girls, just getting bigger and just about managing to get a tad more Xmas shopping done.....argh!

romilly · 16/12/2005 14:55

friz - good luck with the hair do tomorrow i have given up on the house thing now, i just cant face thinking about it. as you say, hopefully more places will come on the market in january. do you reckon it is easier to move with a newborn (after a few months) than moving when you are 8 months preggie? not looking forward to it tbh.

hope all you ladies are doing well.

Frizbethebumpedupreindeer · 16/12/2005 19:37

Still haven't had chance to do the hair ladies, might attempt it later tonight!
Rom, sure you'll be fine moving with baby in tow, I'm guessing you're doing the keeping baby in same room as you for 1st 6 mths anyway, so it shouldn't matter too much anway

munz · 16/12/2005 22:06

just a quick stop in for tongiht girls. feeling v hormonal and can't be bothered/fat/heavy/PG!! lol. I looked in the mirror today in tesco - I no longer look fat I now look PG!

COPPERfeelunderSantasTOP · 18/12/2005 13:17

Just catching up with all the posts.

Dh keeps asking me if I'm sure that I'm not having twins as my bump is so huge. Just what I needed to hear when I was already worrying about measuring so big at my last appoinment with the MW! My 26wks appointment is on Thursday so hopefully everything will be okay.

Does anyone else have to have anti-D injections? I've only ever had them after the birth(s) (both boys inherited dh's blood-type) but this time around I have to have them during the pregnancy too. The first injection is next month and I'm sooo not looking forward to it.

Marneychristmas · 18/12/2005 17:17

Copper, i have to have anti-d next week, i have had 3 already after having bleeds, i hate having them and i find them a bit painful.

well i invested in some washable breast pads today, realised they were just as cheep as disposables. My bump seems to of doubled in size in the last week and at last people are noticing im pg.

Cant wait to go shopping in the sales for baby things, let me know if anybody hears of any bargins!
