Had to start a new thread, as our old one got too big to post anymore.
yay figgy - your scan sounds great! A wee boy - now you only have to think about boy names. Woohoo.

Football now on, not sure about the Swedish kit though....

Is the wrist pain carpal tunnel figgy? Or just random pregnancy-ness?

Thankfully a few hours sitting in my 'throne' in the living room and it's calming down, so should make it in tomorrow. Will sit here feeling massive post dinner with junior leaping around and just blob in front of footie...

OiMissus · 15/11/2011 21:14

The Swedish kit makes them look like bugle boys, or something. But better than the "first world war graves in turquoise" on our goalies!

kri5ty · 15/11/2011 21:21

lala do you have a debenhams with a spa company in?

Thats where OH booked me in for the pregnancy pamper... it was a back/ shoulder massage, foot massage and pedi

kri5ty · 15/11/2011 21:22

My feet are an awful sight btw... it comes from a job where i walk for 12-14 hours a day! I hate people touching my feet, but it felt so good i just didnt care!!

figgygal · 15/11/2011 21:23

Dr says it isn't carpal as I have no pins and needles just really strong pains and lack of mobility in joints I imagine it's what arthritis feels like have to move my whole arms around rather than just turn wrists. Have to keep hands mobile or pain builds up and it honestly feels like I've slammed wrists in a car door. Have wrist supports to try remind self not to pick things up awkwardly and to try keep stable. I've never injured self In my life so not experienced a physical pain like it but I guess I soon will just in a more tender of place Sad

NorthernChinchilla · 15/11/2011 21:31

Oh jesus, don't get me started on our goalie kit Oi- I seriously start to wonder whether it was Carson or Hart that slept with the designer's wife, as it's the only explanation for that abomination....

That sounds really crap figgy- good idea to wear the supports to stop you forgetting and doing things...my Mum's got appalling rheumatoid arthritis and when her wrists are bad the supports stop her using them. It really makes you wonder though, how in the hell can pregnancy cause these things?!

lalababy · 16/11/2011 10:37

FYI the other thread has gone completely mental... there are so many posts since last night that I really couldn't be arsed to read them all. I can barely keep up with the conversation. I think with my preggo brain I can only handle the slower moving first timers thread at the mo!

figgy Sounds like shit. Have you been able to take any pain medication to make things easier on you?

kri5ty there are a few debenhams around but not sure if they have a spa... will ring around and check. Would love to have a long pamper session that includes a massage as well.

Oi book it in... I have booked my pedi for the weekend and I already feel glorious :)

northern I've been getting DH to give me a massage in hopes that the cankles go down... but in any case you sold me... already got my pedi booked in :)

mopsytop · 16/11/2011 11:13

Oooh I think now I might have to sod the expense and book a pedi ... would love a manicure too AND a massage!!!

Ooh girls go go go for the treatments. I started ML this week and treated us to a couple of nights in a spa hotel near hubbys work on a travelozoooffer that came with £200 spa credit. I've had a defluffling down below, a delux pedicure, a mum to be massage (which was AMAZEEEEENG!) and Hopi ear candles (bit crap and weird) All interspersed with lounging around a pool reading. Hubs meanwhile was still working but at least only had 15min drive as opposed to the usual 1hr 15! Plus we had more us time in the evenings than normal.Grin
I feel more than ready for the next 5wks of nesting and prepping christmas now! TREAT BYOURSELF NOW GIRLS, you never know when the next opportunity will arrive once bubbas are here

lalababy · 16/11/2011 17:02

Good point sazzer sounds like you had a fab time! I start ML next friday and CANNOT WAIT! I am so looking forward to having some time to myself. This means I have 3 weeks of ML before the baby's due date... gives me some time to prep for Xmas :)

YBR · 16/11/2011 17:28

How rude are some people? (moan of the day)

I live on the corner of a narrow residential road, and a large delivery Lorry got stuck. They do regularly. Lorry driver asks me to move my car, fine, no problem.
Except that when I'd found my shoes and got out there he'd left me all of an inch to open the driver's door, and when I commented on this I got a very dismissive "Climb across the passenger seat." Shock

Is this cretin blind or something? That's not fun at 8 months preg!

NorthernChinchilla · 16/11/2011 19:49

Oh go for it mopsy! I just get it done at my local place, a converted terrace house on the corner of the street, £18 for a 45-min pedi. Way I look at it, I'm not spending any money on wine/clothes/going out, so £18 per month is an acceptable treat.

Glad you've got one booked too lala- let's face it, at this stage we all deserve a wee pamper Smile

And may I just say here thank God for internet shopping. I've now bought for most of my family for Xmas without moving from the throne. Made the mistake of doing some actual shopping and nearly killed myself, so just though 'fuck it' and have ordered everything on line.

YBR- it is weird how some people simply cannot see the huge bump. My view is they're so thick they don't register it at first, and when they do finally see the massive football, they then come out with some dumb comment/do something stupid in their embarrassment. The amount of people that huff at me when I'm taking stairs slowly at the train station is quite something...

Right- off to pack my bags for the trip up North. I may drop off MN for about 4-5 days, but it's not because something exciting's happened!

kri5ty · 16/11/2011 23:55

Grumble grumble can't sleep, oh getting in from work at 2am, I'm up at 7 for physio... so don't want to go... tried ringing to cancel no answer phone :-(

Can't stop going for a number 2 lol and this bladder/bowel pressure is pissing me off, can't sit or stand!

Grumble grumble

figgygal · 17/11/2011 07:50

Kri5ty sorry to hear you are suffering and everyone else too maybe baby is heading south and that's why there's so much pressure "down there".

37 weeks tomorrow and every day this week people at work have been amazed at how petite my bump is and how little I've got to go until due date. Have to say don't feel very petite and the idea i could have to wait until 21st December to be induced fills me with despair. Keep telling him "you will not be late you will not be late" starting the positive reinforcement early.

Running out of maternity clothes that fit have a lot of dresses which now can't wear due to my hulk ankles. 4.5 days left at work after today bring on the lie ins and relaxation (for the last time in years Grin)

mopsytop · 17/11/2011 08:29

Ugh terrible night's sleep and horrible pains a lot of the night. Tired and grumpy now :(

HoneyLovesCake · 17/11/2011 10:20

Ooooh sazz I am Envy of your spa treatments; I may have to treat myself to something soon. 38 weeks tomorrow...will start ML at end of next week & I can't wait Grin I'm picturing myself being massaged, defluffed & mani/pedi'd but will probably be washing baby clothes & batch cooking...still, it's not work so I'll be happy :)

YBR I really hope you didn't climb across the passenger seat; what a bloody cheek Shock

OiMissus · 17/11/2011 10:46

Morning, 38 wks tomorrow too, and have a MW appt tomorrow. I saw her last week but she wanted to see me again, partially to make sure that the antibiotics had worked, and partially to see how big I'm getting. She hinted at having another growth scan - but I don't know why. The Dr at the hospital says that it doesn't matter how big you get, the management is the same... No change. But I'm wondering if the MW is thinking of inducing me early (or even a CS?) if she thinks GingerBaby is actually a giant. 2 wks ago his estimated weight was 7lb 2oz.
(DH and I are only quite small - I'm 5'2", and a size 12 normally, DH is probably 5'9" and slim built. A natural birth will probably bring a tear to one's eye.)

lalababy · 17/11/2011 11:32

Hey all... I seem to be way behind th curve I am only 35 + 4 today. However, I am ahead of the curve when it comes to ML... I only have 6 more days after today...finishing up next friday... WooHoo. Honey / Figgy / Oi how are you guys working so far into the the pregnancy? I am already so tired ready to just give up. I thought about working till week 38 and then figured I just don't give a crap about work anymore - am only interested in chillaxing - putting my feet up etc! So finally decided to stop at week 37!

mopsytop · 17/11/2011 11:37

Nope lala I am only 34+4, whole week behind you!

OP posts:
HoneyLovesCake · 17/11/2011 12:03

lala I had planned on working 'til I popped [naive smiley] as I work from home & am self employed so 39 wks seems a luxury to me...it's not easy but I think if I'd planned to stop at 37 or 38 weeks I would've struggled even earlier.

figgygal · 17/11/2011 13:17

Im still fine here (other than the hands) will be 38 weeks to the day when i finish and would push it another week if i could but DH says no way plus my replacement is in now so no need for me to other than fact am a massive control freak and dont want to hand over!!

OiMissus · 17/11/2011 15:56

I was doing fine at work until I had my hospital adventure, (in wk 35-36) then the week off, this week I've been pathetic. So it's hard to say whether I'd have been fine til wk 38, or whether it really was too optimistic. My work gives minimal maternity support so I was trying to work as long as poss so that I get more time with the baby. But I'm planning to go back on 23 April -21wks total. Can't afford more. Sad unless those lottery numbers come up.

lalababy · 17/11/2011 15:59

Hmmm... gosh I come across as such a slacker! But realisticially I am just so much more interested in setting up my house rather than being at work :(

But also I guess the fact that I wanted to change jobs until I realised I was preggo and there was no point doesn't help with my motivation level!

Ah well - I guess I will try and make the most of my 3 weeks off prior to DD and spend time relaxing, listening to hypnobirthing CDs, squeezing my pelvic floor, massage my pernium etc!

mopsytop · 17/11/2011 16:05

Oi I, too, will be going back around that time - by 'going back' I mean getting back to work on my thesis and putting baby in nursery. I will be hard :(

Going to keep working beforehand as long as possible to get as much done before baby as possible. But I am only 34+4 and it's already getting so uncomfy. Grrr

OP posts:
mopsytop · 17/11/2011 16:06

IT will be hard! I will have to be hard too though, I suppose. Leaving weeny baby in nursery will not be easy I suspect.
