Hello! I've just found out that I'm pregnant and due on the 23rd March! I'm 29 and live in London with my husband, dog and cat. So far at 4 weeks things are going very smoothly! I'm very excited about going to the doctor (even if they don't care) as feel it will make things more real!
If you're expecting in March too please join the thread and share a bit about yourself and how your pregnancy is going!

notfromconcentrate when will you find out for sure?

feekerry you have to load the photos on to your mumsnet profile, some people in the other thread I'm on wanted to see the baby things I've been making so if you click on my name at the beginning of this post you'll see the pics I've posted. DH managed to take a good pic of our last scan so I'll get that on when he's home and let know!

Carlita: oops! Happy Wednesday everyone! (it's been a looooong week)! Grin maybe it's baby brain!

Notfromconcentrate: sorry to hear about possible redundancy. When will you find out for sure? Maybe the job interview will be a good turning point for you.
On the bright side, flutters sound exciting! Can't wait to feel some too. Not really sure what they're going to feel like. Very excited at the thought though!!

NotFromConcentrate · 21/09/2011 20:29

Hi guys. I should know by the end of next week what the state of play is, although the process itself is likely to take approximately 8 weeks. I'll know tomorrow if I'm through to the next stage of the process for the job I was interviewed for today (which went really, really well and feedback was excellent - just hoping being pregnant doesn't put them off).

Being out of work would be a nightmare, TBH. I'm fortunate in that I have a reasonably good job which pays fairly well, but not so well that we cOuld afford for me to be out of work! My childcare alone is exPensive, and if I take the children out of that I risk not getting them back in when I do find work. Argh. Sorry, I've ranted again!!!

knitterati · 21/09/2011 21:09

Notfromconcentrate: don't worry about a rant - it's a very stressful experience, so share away if it helps.
Might be worth a quick chat to someone at the CAB on employment rights in pregnancy?

ZhenXiang · 21/09/2011 22:18

Hello everyone :)

Stogan hope scan and consultant appointment went well

Carlita Very impressed with the baby things :) I am 17+3, was feeling pushing/rolling movements from 10 weeks onwards (was 13 weeks onwards with DD), now am getting kicks, but I have an anterior placenta so only feel them at sides, very low down and up into diaphragm.

notfromc link here regarding your rights, you need to stretch out your working with them to your 25th week of pregnancy to get SMP from your employer from what I can see here otherwise you would have to claim maternity allowance I believe even if you were taken on by a new employer.

DaydreamDolly · 21/09/2011 22:35

Hi ladies can I join you?!
I'm due March 16th so am 15+5 today. I already have a DD, she is 2.2 and scrumptious. Grin
I had a fab pg last time, but with this one I am so tired all the time! Not so much in the evenings, strangely, more so early afternoon. Tis pretty rubbish and keep waiting for the second trimester energy hike? Is this a myth?! I only work 2 days a week so manage to nap with DD on the other days Smile
can't believe just reading this thread has made me crave pickles!
I have been feeling baby wriggles this week, it's glorious. Can't wait for the -take you breath away- kicks.
Looking forward to getting to know you all

ZhenXiang · 21/09/2011 22:57

Welcome Daydream, I have a DD about the same age as yours (2.4). Have been a lot more tired this time around as with a toddler you get less sleep and rest than the first time around. I am 17+3 now and energy levels are returning to normal levels finally so hopefully you will feel better soon.

Have just sent DH to get me pickles Grin couldn't hold off anymore!

DaydreamDolly · 21/09/2011 23:01

Thanks Zhen, wow you have a good DH! I must work on mine... Enjoy the pickles, am a tad jealous Envy Smile

Stogan · 22/09/2011 07:13

Everything went amazing thanks zhen the consultant has signed me off and classd me as a normal pregnancy woo hoo !!!! Just need my energy to go back to normal and I'm back !!!!!!

Love that everyone is craving pickles now ha ha I have now moved on from pickles to coleslaw (obviously very careful where I get it from ) !!!!

I'm 15+5 and have felt a few twinges but can't wait to feel more, don't know what to look out for tho lol ! X

Carlitawantsababy · 22/09/2011 09:10

Welcome daydream! congratulations stogan! fab news! That's interesting you felt movements do early zhen, was kind of hoping for that when I asked as I'm sure i've felt little flutters when laying still and they don't feel like wind (!) but all the books say 16-22 weeks. That said, none of the books mentioned the stretchy feelings I had from pre BFP to about 8 weeks either so I guess they aren't bibles!
I have a question for those of you with DCs, what should I ensure I do before march that o won't get chance to do for a while? For example, DH and I spent all day Sunday in bed watching films and I plan on booking a couple of trips to the cinema. Grin

OP posts:
DaydreamDolly · 22/09/2011 09:49

Congrats Stogan!

I don't think we'll feel much more than twinges for another few weeks, with my first pregnancy I was 17 weeks when I felt a proper kick.

I've just realised I said I was 15+5 yesterday but I'm actually 14+6 today (baby brain? Moi?!)

Carlita, definitely make the most of lazy Sundays, lazy weekends in general, dinners out in the evening, cinema, and generally time together! I tend to do dinners out and cinema with my sisters/friends now Sad

Also, SLEEP! Lie in whenever you can!!

knitterati · 22/09/2011 11:59

Good question Carlita - I have been wondering that myself!

DH and I are planning a dirty weekend away in October somewhere in Europe. Grin

ZhenXiang · 22/09/2011 13:35

Carlita Don't listen to the books, you know your body, you do feel them more easily when lying down still. The little flutters sound like the first movements I felt with DD at 13 weeks so you are probably feeling baby move :)

Has anyone had a look at Vertbaudet maternity wear? They have a good range of trousers (both under and over bump).

Moffit · 22/09/2011 16:00

Its interesting that some of you are feeling movements already. I can't wait for the time I start feeling movements, sometimes I still feel like a fraud, because I dont even feel pregnant?!

Welcome to Daydream, the ladies on here are lovely!

Is it too soon to start looking for Baby Accessories? We went window shopping for cots and prams and have got some good ideas, but dont know at what stage we should actually start buying things?!

Stogan · 22/09/2011 16:40

Were the same moffit desperate to start buying but don't want to seem to eager/organised and don't want to tempt Fate !!! X

DaydreamDolly · 22/09/2011 16:46

Thanks Moffit Grin

I was like you with DD1, didn't feel pregnant at all, felt first movements about 17 weeks so hopefully shouldn't be long. Enjoy not feeling pregnant! Sounds like you're having a dream pregnancy so far, lucky thing.

With regards to buying things, just go with your gut. I am a firm believer tyhat buying baby items can in no way effect the outcome of your pregnancy - it's just not possible. My MIL was horrified that we had bought the pram at 20 weeks, she said it's terribly bad luck to have the pram in the house before the baby arrives! I mean, how on earth is having a pram in the house going to effect my baby?! So if you want to buy a few bits, and you feel comfortable doing it, then go ahead! It's fun! So far I have only bought a packet of newborn vests, but am going to buy a swing and a few bits once we're back from hols in a few weeks. Want to spread the cost.

Am so tired today (am at work) slept terribly last night. DH was at a work function so woke me at midnight texting me to tell me he was on his way home, woke me at 1am when he arrived home, DD woke me at 3am as she wanted some water (has a cold and sore throat at the moment) then again at 4pm cos she wanted a poo!! Children and husbands eh?! Early night for me.

Hope you're all well.

Carlitawantsababy · 22/09/2011 18:46

Haha! Yes, I'm with you 100% daydream buying baby things is not going to effect my baby in any way, except perhaps with happy vibes because I like shopping! I have bought tons of stuff! Almost all is second hand and I figure you have to buy it when it comes up, also have bought a couple of things that are little projects so need a bit of time with them like a fifties bassinet which I need to reupholster and a wooden highchair which I plan to make cushions for but mainly I'm shopping because a) I'm excited (and that's allowed) and b) I want to spread the cost and get some good bargains along the way!
How exciting that they really could be baby flutters! I really felt they were and baby has been very active on ultrasounds! Grin
Yes, lie ins, must make the most of them and try to get better at them, since being pregnant I keep waking up all excited then can't get back to sleep!Grin

13+6

feekerry · 22/09/2011 20:03

moffit honestly, the flutters didn't feel like much at all, very easily missed. actually i cant even be sure thats what it was, might just be some wind thing going on- which i have plenty of!!!!!

Carlitawantsababy · 22/09/2011 20:56

Oh, zhen yeah, I've looked at vertbaudet, they have some nice stuff. They're doing £15 off when you spend more than £20 with this code:4738 Smile

casperella · 23/09/2011 12:54

Hi all, not been on for a while as work been busy, I've been tired (like everyone else it seems!)... all the usual excuses! Having a nice day at home with no DCs, as we're packing to go on hols tomorrow - cannot wait!

Jealous of you first timers getting excited about buying stuff..... will just be raiding the attic in my case - tho I know it's great not having to shell out cash again, it's sooooo nice looking at all the little vests and outfits, choosing a pram etc etc. I'll need to live vicariously through you!

Anyway, be back in a couple of weeks, no doubt knackered after a few days at EuroDisney at the end of our hol in France.

x

knitterati · 23/09/2011 15:07

Have fun casperella!

knitterati · 23/09/2011 15:19

Meant to say:
Thought I felt a flutter last night - can't be sure but it felt like a ripple in my tummy. Does that sound familiar to anyone? Not really sure what to expect in terms of movement as it's my first. Smile

Have a good weekend all!

JoZam · 23/09/2011 16:55

CArlita Thanks very much for your very kind offer! I can get maternity stuff here its just I can only choose between one pair of jeans and one pair of black trousers! But, I am coming back to the UK hopefully before Xmas which is really not that far off and I can manage until then, I just feel I am missing out on all the exciting shopping expeditions! I do have family in UK and DP's family in Ireland but the cost of sending stuff over here is astronomical and things have a habit of going missing! But thanks again I was very touched by your offer. Yes we are here because of DP's job but we both want to come home.
I had an Obs appointment yesterday and got to see my nugget again, they have gotten so big in just 4 weeks! We saw arms and legs and a very clear hand waving. Also got to see heart beating very fast, their spine and their stomach. Nugget was very active doing somersaults. I have to say it made it very real to me and am finally feeling pregnant. I am going for a gender scan in 3 1/2 weeks, cannot believe we are all not that far off the halfway mark, will be 16 weeks tomorrow.
Hope everyone is feeling well and have lovely weekends ahead.

feekerry · 23/09/2011 17:38

knitterati thats kinda what I thought I felt. Bit like something vibrating bit inside my tummy. Maybe you did?! It kinda freaks me out when I read about the size of it and now were in inches rather than mm and that its having a party inside and we feel very little! When I had my 12 week scan baby was going great guns kicking and punching and I could see it on the screen but obviously couldn't feel it. Weird to think your getting punched and kicked internally but cant feel it!
