Well, we don't have a telly, so I only watch what I expose myself to on purpose. I absolutely addicted to OBEM though. I think it's because I had a homebirth, so i've no idea what a hospital birth is like.

Maltesers88 · 01/07/2011 09:34

needle I am a wreck today too but that's because Im not handling the nausea well Sad

Have just booked myself in for acupuncture at 2pm so fingers crossed! Otherwise I'll be walking around with a lemon stuck to my face for the next 5 weeks!

Have called in sick today too so thank god I don't have to face public transport. Plus the baby upstairs was screaming from 4am this morning so am exhausted.

Why am I doing this again?!?!

pixelpeeper · 01/07/2011 09:38

needle no idea when I am due, just got a bfp this morning.
Have no idea about how far gone, when I am due, but I THINK I am due in Feb... so here I am! Helloooooo everyone.

I shall introduce myself.

I have a 4 year old DS, DS2 is 2 next month, and I keep lots of pet chickens despite living in a very urban area. My neighbours hate me, but I couldn't give a shiny shit Grin

pixelpeeper · 01/07/2011 09:40

And I have zero symptoms aside from crying a lot and 2 lines appearing on a piss stick.

notcitrus · 01/07/2011 09:40

Saw my gynaecologist the other day - blood test finally showed that I ovulated! Been trying to get that test on the right day for 2 years. So now I know I'm due on 17th Feb, but means I'm only 7 weeks. Saw GP today for MW referral - he says I should definitely get a booking appt scan earlier than last time but as those were 21 and 23 weeks I should hope so! So another 5 weeks to wait to see if there's actually a heartbeat etc. I should have lied and said I had no idea how pregnant I was and got referred for a scan - not sure I can cope with 5 weeks of uncertainty.

Gyno didn't help as he was all "Congratulations! Now we should do blood tests for progesterone and do a scan and " "My insurance doesn't cover anything to do with pregnancy.""Oh, well, don't bother then. It'll be fine!" Hmm How much would a private TV scan be, do you think?

I'm not feeling sick as long as I don't think about food at all. Went to the canteen for lunch yesterday and couldn't face anything, so got another couple bananas. I'd already had two earlier. And have the sensitive smell thing. Never had that or MS last time. Hopefully this means my legs won't fall off this time.

Needle · 01/07/2011 09:48

Dd hid her breakfast banana in my shoe. Yeugh.

Pixelpeeper there are loads of online calculators which you can use to work out your due date, as long as you know the date of your last AF.

Urgh. can't be bothered today. I just want to go back to bed.

pixelpeeper · 01/07/2011 10:36

needle - I think 3rd March. But can I play with you lot? There's no March thread and my dates might be wrong Grin

LittleBoxes · 01/07/2011 11:10

Pixelpeeper Yep, get on the bus (you can always stand near the door in case you want to jump off and get on the March one instead).

My DH would be very jealous of your chickens. We have an allotment out the back of our flat (our garden leads into it) and he is always threatening to stick some chickens in there. I've always said no because I'm a bit scared of the flappiness, though I could cope with the lovely fresh eggs!

InnocentRedhead · 01/07/2011 11:10

I have Kate Middleton envy... Just reading the Daily Fail and she is just fabulous isn't she. Gorgeous wardrobe (not sure about style choice yesterday though), gorgeous bouncy fab hair, stunning figure, everything. Hmph. I feel particularly fat and grumpy at the moment. I can't even find a bra in the house that fits me today so i have to go without, Grrrr. Can't even buy another they are changing that frequently. And i want that lace dress. Full of 'I want' I know, but I have one thing she doesn't - a baby inside me, with my unconditional love for the innocent little apple seed. Oh well she may have married her Prince, but I am marrying my Prince Charming!

Welcome Pixelpeeper! There is a March thread but you are definately good to perch here for a while, you may find later on though that the March thread is better for you as you would be able to share symptoms better. But you are definitely welcome here :) and they are still symptoms. But they get worse!!

Oh Needle I would have vomited at the banana, i hate everythign that banana stands for, the smell, the taste! Bleurgh!

Maltesers Is the acupuncture to relieve the sickness? Let us know how it goes... I can see acupuncturists across the country being inundated with pregnant women trying to ease nausea!

Can't believe how quickly this thread is growing again, be full in no time!!! And i love how all my posts are pretty much essays ha!

Maltesers88 · 01/07/2011 11:25

innocent yes it is! Have read it really works so is my last resort!

Have just had to cancel our lovely anniversary weekend away as so not feeling up to it. Poor DH. I feel so guilty but just can't handle being that far away from home at the mo Sad

InnocentRedhead · 01/07/2011 11:41

Treat him to a weekend away at home... Spruce the bedroom up with candles, rose petals, flowers, massage oils, etc.... Same in the bathroom... Bubble bath. If the acupuncture works you will probably be able to stomach a good meal; Make something really nice to eat (3 course meal), good steak, fish, whatever you like. As you would have at a restaurant...

Organise a day out together - I don't know where you live; but there is bound to be something, somewhere near you. Where abouts are you? Hope that helps

Maltesers88 · 01/07/2011 11:54

Thanks innocent that's a great idea!
I'm in London so lots of options. Will see what I can find in the shops today Smile

InnocentRedhead · 01/07/2011 12:02

Do things in London you never usually do... Be a sightseer for a weekend using your home as the base :) Living there I am sure you will see and do things you have never noticed/done! Glad to be of service :o enjoy! And happy anniversary!

6+6 ?

Needle · 01/07/2011 12:33

Where in London are you malteasers? I'm in Vauxhall x

QueenFee · 01/07/2011 12:48

I love obem uk but hated the us version they were so derisive to the women and were selling epidurals before they were even established labour grr hence I no longer watch it.

I am the same have told loads of my friends but just not sure how to bring it up in conversation with my mum. any suggestions (bear in mind its dc4 and the 8th grandchild)

7 weeks today!

Maltesers88 · 01/07/2011 12:49

I'm in Fulham

Needle · 01/07/2011 13:03

Hmmm, I don't really know that part of the city very well. No suggestions i'm afraid, other than, dinner at the ritz is always amazing if you're feeling up to it x

queenfee, I hated the way they treated the couple who wanted a natural birth, it was so snide. Some of those women are almost zombies with drugs by the time they finally deliver! Last night's was really good though, very entertaining.

Crazybit · 01/07/2011 13:47

Hi to Pixie :)

Well i told my mum yesterday but I also told her about OHs unsureness so she didn't get herself excited. It will by grandchild no5 for her, but she sees my kids more as my brothers don't bother with her that much.

OH seems to be coming round to the idea, however, I am fuming Angry He is due to go away for @24days travelling in Sept to Peru, Inca trails etc, now this doesn't bother me, but this morning, he said that he would feel a lot happier if he where able to go on a three day stag do a few days before he goes on the other trip, insinuating that if he goes on the stag do then he will be more positive about the pg. So basically, he would be away for 32 days with just 2/3 days at home inbetween probably sleeping off a massive hangover. He's taking the proverbial right? Especially, emotionally blackmailing me like that.

LolaRennt · 01/07/2011 14:38

lola it wasn't that it was bad, if was just such a huge surprise- his family just don't make girls!

Oh good I thought you had been made to feel you had ruined their winning streak or something :)

Sugarkane · 01/07/2011 15:46

Well I told my mum when she came to stay with me, walked in ready to get it out quick before I changed my mind, said my im having another baby, she didnt say anything but let out a loud fart.....hmmmm. Once she had got over the shock she was very happy and congratulated me although she thought I was just going to ask her for a loan or something haha.

Sugarkane · 01/07/2011 15:48

mum im having*

babycarmen · 01/07/2011 15:49

I got my scan date through for my 12 week scan :) 25th July. Im so excited, just 3 and a half more weeks! I will only just be 12 weeks on the day though, maybe 11+6.. will be seeing the consultant then too, same one i had with DD which is good, i liked him.
Felt quite sicky this morning but it went away again when i stuck the sickness bands on..loving them!!!
Might of eaten almost an entire thing of garlic and herb roule last night with doritos... Blush craving cheese quite a bit!
DD on holidays from nursery now for 6 weeks so need to think of cheap ideas to keep her entertained (and me sane) over the summer, family picnic at the big park tomorrow!

Oh and DD "has a baby in her tummy" and told everyone at her nursery so im thinking were going to have to tell people soon before she does!!

8+3

diedandgonetodevon · 01/07/2011 16:24

babycarmen 2yo DS has a baby in his tummy too. It's very sweet but I'm just crossing my fingers he doesn't mention it outside the house. My back-up plan is that SIL is 6 months pregnant so will blame his baby fascination on her.

I really must get off my arse and make an appointment with the MW- I want a 12wk scan date [stamps foot]

8wks

clarinsgirl · 01/07/2011 16:42

Does anyone have any advice for me? I'm meeting my BF next week and I'm going to tell her that I'm Pg. I'm telling her before anyone else because I know that it is going to be difficult for her. She's been TTC for over 2 years and although tests show nothing wrong, its just not happening for her. Last time we met (a few weeks ago) I told her that DH and I were going to start trying for DC2. So she will know that basically we got pregnant straight away. She also got quite upset and told me how bad she feels when she finds out people are pregnant, that she knows its completely irrationational but she finds it very difficult to cope with. She's a wonderful person and I know she'll be pleased for me, but she's human and desperate for a baby so I know it will kill her. I can talk to her about anything but I'm really worried about telling her.

Sugarkane · 01/07/2011 16:46

Clainsgirl when I had ds I was in the same situation with my friend, I found it best to be honest and not beat about the bush so to speak. She was very happy for me but also upset I explained I wanted to tell her before anyone else not only because of her situation but also becuase she was my best friend and we share everything good and and bad.
