Wow were gonna need another new thread soon huh!

I got good news today, my results for the downs screening came back 1 : 100000 so its pretty safe to say baby is healthy! Not that it would of made a difference but with DD i was 1 : 250 so was a worrying 8 months for us.

And congrats curry what a relief!

I got sickness tablets (cyclizine) from my GP today after a tearful phonecall to my midwife, he gave me enough for a week and if im sick again i have to into hospital to go on a drip because 1) they dont want me taking medication for too long and 2) i have ketones in my urine and theyre worried i could get ketosis which is dangerous for baby! Hopefully these tabs will work though, kept down 1 fishcake and some mash..better then nothing!

cried all morning and lay on the sofa all afternoon, feel so sorry for myself! Blush

currybaby · 04/08/2011 22:13

sorry to hear you're suffering so much from hm babycarmen. is it getting better at all over the weeks? its sounds like they are monitoring you well and at least they know what you have wrong and are ready to get you some support. i know its hardly any substitute for feeling better though.

hermionejgranger · 04/08/2011 22:30

currybaby That is good news :) Now you can take a deep breath aaaaaand relaxxxx!!

babycarmen I'm so sorry you are feeling so down :( I've been totally knocked for six with all the stuff that happens to you in pregnancy that I had no idea about at all so can only begin to imagine how crud you must feel...here's a comforting nice tummy feeling for you...

m1nn1em0u5e · 05/08/2011 09:08

Babycarmen, im on Cylizine too for hyperemesis, only taking them when im desperate now, also ive got a UTI so ive been put on another course of antibiotics. I hate taking any medication when im pregnant, so im really not happy about all these tablets!..Consultant also recommended taking daily baby aspirin due to previous PIH in my first pregnancy. Anybody ever taken this? Im a bit confused as this is my 3rd pregnancy & I was absolutely fine in my 2nd pregnancy, no PIH. Just cant understand why they want me to take it this time? Should have asked while I was there, but we had been waiting nearly an hour with my 8 & 4 year old who were understandably a bit fed up by the time we got into see the Dr!..The joys of hospital appointments in the summer holidays!

pinkhollie · 05/08/2011 10:10

One week today we'll be on the way to the hospital for our scan- hope I can manage to drink enough! Grin

Scan today - I have a lovely, wriggly little bub in there and not just cake! Very emotional and I'm completely elated now - it doesn't get any less magical. I got brought forward a week too, so that's a bonus!

Thanks everyone, i had such an easy pg with DD i just assumed id have an easy time this time... HAH, how wrong i was, could be much worse of course. Cannot WAIT to feel better. DP keeps nagging at me coz im barely eating enough for one nevermind 2 :( As soon as i think its getting better, im sick again :( Its getting me so down, everytime im sick i have a crying fit after :(

m1nn1e im sorry youre having a bad time of it too!

babycarmen · 05/08/2011 10:31

yay for a wriggly baby and getting moved forward phlossie :D

louby86 · 05/08/2011 10:47

Hello everyone!

Lovely to hear more good news about scans! How exciting!

Hopefully you can relax now currybaby sounds like you've had a lot to worry about but glad it's all clear now!

Thought I was getting better after not being sick Monday but it appears to have got worse again since! Was hoping to go back next week after being signed off for 5 weeks with hyperemesis but we'll have to see. Fingers crossed as I'm getting a bit bored! Tried to cut down my medication and now on antibiotics for a wisdom tooth infection! Oh well, only a few more weeks and hopefully we'll all be glowing Grin

mummymccar · 05/08/2011 11:50

Glad to hear that everyone is having fantastic news and that we have lots of healthy babies on the way!

Thank you so much for all the support regarding my situation, it's so nice being able to talk to people about it. Midwife has been fantastic so far & has booked me in for counselling so fingers crossed that will work, though if I'm being realistic I think this may be too ingrained to sort out by feb. Sorry for the late reply on this, had a big contract come through and have been working almost non-stop for the last week!

Has anybody told everyone yet? We have told our parents but nobody else yet. SIL is pregnant at the moment and we didn't want to tell her and her DH until we were passed the 12 week mark so that if anything went wrong she wouldn't be worrying about us for the rest of her pregnancy. So now we are wondering how to tell everyone - how did you do it/will you be doing it?

xxx

phlossie · 05/08/2011 12:01

I had told most people anyway - hard not to what with being sick and showing so much already. I just updated my Facebook status! Very 2011! I told people I'm close to face-to-face mostly, just telling them when I saw them. It's lovely news to share. Your SIL will be so chuffed to have a pregnant buddy and you'll have children to be cousins together. Lovely! I'm a bit Envy - neither of my siblings has produces yet!

I hope the counselling helps you, mummymccar. It's a tough one.

Sugar80 · 05/08/2011 16:05

Woop woop scan on Wednesday!!! Not until 5.45 though! Very excited!

I've told loads more people than originally planned. Both sets of parents, my auntie (well, my mum told her), his brother, sil and their army of kids, sil's parents (kids) and 5 of my best friends!! So much for waiting until after the scan!!

notcitrus · 05/08/2011 16:52

Wahey - had scan, and not only do we have low risk of Downs etc but my due date is now forward again, to the 19th. Which means it's 11+5 and we'll tell people this weekend.

I've been signed off for two weeks with low blood pressure and feeling faint - I've managed to take ds to nursery, come back, and go to bed and that's it. Apparently it should improve by around 12 weeks...
Also saw the physio yesterday - OUCH! Have a gruelling exercise regime that may help stave off worse SPD this time.

Still, more relaxed after the scan.

phlossie · 06/08/2011 08:30

I don't feel sick today, I don't feel sick today, la la la la la la! (heading at a sprint towards the 2nd trimester).

Nice one, notcitrus. Try pregnancy yoga too - I loved it, I think it really helps you relax your body, and there's the bonus of focussing on your baby. I had SPD with ds (but then his massive head was engaged from 33 weeks), but with dd I got it at 24 weeks, thought I was in serious trouble, but it went after a couple of weeks weirdly, so you may be ok.

currybaby · 06/08/2011 08:42

good news phlossie. i really hope those feeling sick start to feel a bit better.

hope you all have good weekends

BillComptonstrousers · 06/08/2011 10:14

Morning! There is a new thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1274291-Frisky-and-Glowing-in-The-Second-Trimester-on-The-February-Baby-Bus here for when this one tips over the edge,

Horrible day in durham today, so much for the family bbq, it's tipping down, so a huge takeaway instead I think!

We just found out that Dh best mate is expecting as well, same due date as ours, but they are having twins, how weird is that?

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Lol glad its not just me that has pregnancy brain! I am driving dh round the bend i'm normally really organised but I have become such a ditz!

Pilates are good for spd as they strengthen the inner muscles that holds it all together according to my osteo. I found normal excersize made it worse even walking. In fact it was a mere 2 mile walk that put me on crutches.

I'm back from camping q

QueenFee · 06/08/2011 18:28

I hadn't finished stupid phone!

Back from camping. Absolutely exhausted. Dh gave me a lie in till 10 bit I still feel like I could sleep for a week! Had a good time however have already made it clear I will not be camping next summer with a little one. Would be fine with just a baby but not all 4!

Second scan date through 28 sept and 1st consultant app

PIMSoclock · 06/08/2011 18:37

Sorry I've not really checked in for a while. Being preg with a toddler is HARD work.
My feet are permanently killing me and I think the only word I said today is 'no'
Anyway, enough moaning. Got my scan next week and nausea is subsiding -finally!!
Starting to feel more pregnant if that makes sense? Though the baby weight seems to know EXACTLY where to go and quickly this time!! I look about six months!!!Blush
Love to all Smile
