Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Maltesers88 · 30/06/2011 15:59

Great news innocent
I'm still debating it but think I'll wait til after my first appt with the GP next week.

Today is definitely my most nauseous day so far :( Have tried EVERYTHING and still feel rubbish!
Thinking about bunking off work early!

babycarmen · 30/06/2011 16:03

malteser try sea bands, my nausea has pretty much gone since i started using them, such a life saver!!

EsmeWeatherwax · 30/06/2011 16:08

Pinching a seat, off to read the thread!

Maltesers88 · 30/06/2011 16:09

babycarmen I've got them on now but they don't seem to be working! :( Maybe I'm not wearing them right...

EsmeWeatherwax · 30/06/2011 16:23

Oh dear maltesers nothing ever helped me with the nausea either, I just had to ride it out. Awful.

innocent that's great news, so pleased for you!

I'm currently panicing because I have no symptoms at all. I have been so sick with my previous pregnancies that I can't believe I can be pregnant and feel fine. Expecting to be jumping off the bus any day now tbh! Guess I'll have to wait until scan on 19th to see what's what, but feeling quite gloomy about the whole thing today.

louby86 · 30/06/2011 17:16

Wow bill what a lovely photo!

Great news innocent

malteser I'm now taking movamine? Something like that anyway from my GP because it's the only way I can control being sick, seems to be working though!

hermionejgranger · 30/06/2011 17:24

currybaby mine are the same - feeling a lot more normal actually. Still need extra support in bed though!

Looks like my MS has started - but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. different time each day, different amount of feeling sicky and different things make it go away. Am going to resort to the sea bands tomorrow - have resisted thus far because we're not telling yet and they are kind of obvious when you're wearing short sleeves.

and what is going on with the "stuff I fancy to eat"? never the same 2 days in a row and now I have a kitchen full of snackables that I really don't fancy.

and how is my tum so huge when I'm not really doing eating properly?

oh dear - what a whinger - sorry everyone! [rolls eyes]

hermionejgranger · 30/06/2011 17:34

just realised there were 2 more pages of posts after currybaby's that I commented on - d'oh Blush

innocent that's great news - nice prolific use of smilies in your post - love it! you must be feeling tremendous! really happy for you :)

bill that's a beautiful dress - and a great pic!

Maltesers88 · 30/06/2011 17:37

Thanks louby
Haven't actually been sick but just feel really nauseous the whole time. Like I could gag any second. Not sure the doc will give me anything for that! My tummy is hungry though so still forcing down the yellow food. I've got emetophobia though so the whole thing is freaking me out.
Just managed to sneak out of work early but the boss is back next week so god knows how i'm gonna cope - might have to tell him early at this rate Sad
DH is being so lovely about it though, feel so guilty he has such a crap boring wife!

PamBeesly · 30/06/2011 18:03

Bill you look beautiful in your pic :)

Hermione I'm in the same boat I have aversions to all foods, I can't think about food without having to gag...yet the only thing that makes me feel ok is to eat, I just can't pepare the food myself and I'm surviving on oranges and toast. I feel awful so guilty that I'm not drinking my milk and eating cheese guddo for my LO...I just can't I've tried and it makes me sick :( Does anyone else have this guilt? I really would love to feel perky and guzzle the milk down I just can't

Maltesers88 · 30/06/2011 18:12

No I'm exactly the same Pam
Am hungry but thought of eating anything makes me queasy Sad
Pasta seems ok at the mo but I have to eat very very slowly.

Have taken the seabands off as they really werent helping and now trying something new....driving my nail into a lemon and sniffing it. Read it on here somewhere and seems to be helping slightly!

puzzletree · 30/06/2011 18:18

innocent woo-hoo! that must be a great relief.
Bill your back is famous!

Pam don't stress about what you're eating or not eating too much at this stage (apart from folic acid and avoiding the obvious no-nos). the baby will take what it needs from you, it's you that might suffer in the long run, but hopefully you'll be able to improve your diet later on in pregnancy.

Maltesers I was exactly like that in previous pregnancies, constant nausea but never actually sick. Hopefully you'll be the same, try not to focus on being sick, if that's possible for you with a phobia (hope your baby's not a sicky one!!!).

Esme once you've read a bit you'll realise I feel the same as you. it's weird isn't it, really hope we both have good scans and we've just lucked out this time with mild symptoms.

DS2 has, as expected, been rubbish at toilet training. Still no wees on the potty or toilet. Nappies tomorrow, I need to go into town!!!!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 30/06/2011 19:08

Innocent - yay! Great news!

Maltesers- that was my tip! Well, my friends. I might have to be using it myself soon - nausea bad today Sad

puzzletree - snap on the no nappies thing! We got back from the hospital yesterday just before lunch but DD decided she was not going to have her post-lunch nap. I was on my knees, so needed to sleep. Then the nappy came off - "my not wear a nappy" and she wanted to wear pants. Mopping up pee from the floor was not on my agenda yesterday...

I suspect she's going to let the cat out of the bag as well. She was most impressed with the scan yesterday and spent most of the afternoon playing "Mummy Rabbit going to the hospital to see if there's a baby in her tummy". Then Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka all got taken to the hospital as well and apparently enjoyed it. She's probably going to come out with that stuff at nursery too, or worse, at MIL's. Blush

Maltesers88 · 30/06/2011 19:12

Thanks wicket well it seems to be working!

Have also just been researching acupuncture which is supposed to help. Anyone tried that? am thinking of trying to get an appt tomorrow as I seriously can't cope with this.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 30/06/2011 19:42

I did when i was pregnant with DD. Did nothing for me (so I'm not convinced Seabands will work for me either). But it revolutionised things for a colleague of mine, so it's worth a go.

diedandgonetodevon · 30/06/2011 19:49

ooh, I really want a lemon to sniff now...sounds lovely.
I really need to eat some dinner but I feel to sicky this evening. Just put a jacket potato in the oven and have been craving tuna so will try and give that a whirl.

BillComptonstrousers · 30/06/2011 20:02

thanks ladies Grin

Great news about your scan red I'm so very jealous!

millie hope you enjoy Take That tonight and it's not too much for you x

Well I'm back in my favourite place, bed.

Today I've managed to cram down
-Cup-a-soup
-2 slices of dry bread
-babybel
-half a jacket potato and beans

A veritable feast ladies! Am suffering the consequences now though! Envy thats my puke face by the way!

Hope everyone manages to get a bit of dinner inside them and get a bit of rest.

shipsladyg · 30/06/2011 20:06

Some of you are going to think me nuts, but I kinda wish I had some symptoms other than just going off food. Not being icky-boo seems to go against the grain a bit & makes me feel as if I'm not pregnant. But in the same breath, I'm glad I don't have to cope with stinky nappies & morning sickness at the same time.

I did notice today though that my jeans belt felt nicer undone one notch.

Well done potty trainers. It's gotta be grim doing that & feeling delicate.

Anyone else feeling dog tired? I'd happily go to bed now... Especially as DD thinks that sleeping til 0600 is giving me a lay-in. I can't remember being this shattered last time. Roll on the second trimester.

So glad to hear about the positive scans. Keep the faith those who are still waiting!

phlossie · 30/06/2011 20:08

Yay Innocent! Good news!

Crazy - I live in Bristol. Fab city - you'll love it. Where abouts are you?

Bill - I love the website! Great pics. My due date is the 17th not the 19th according to that website. That's getting close to my DS's birthday - Feb 15th. He won't like to share.... And he's already writing lists of who he's inviting to his party, so we better make it early Grin

My children demanded boiled eggs for breakfast this morning I'm feeling rough and very emotional.

7 weeks tomorrow.

phlossie · 30/06/2011 20:13

shipsladyg my DS did that when I was pregnant with DD. It was a killer! Sickness is definitely worse when tired. I'm dog tired too.

Bill good work with the menu! Sounds, erm, delicious. I just snaffled a bowl of chicken muligatawny soup with two slices of buttered bread. I literally have to eat every 20 mins or else Envy (It's a good puke face, I agree!)

BillComptonstrousers · 30/06/2011 20:28

That's bizarre phlossie just rechecked mine and it's given me the 19th not the 18th.
It's my birthday on valentines day, and I do NOT want to be heaving this baby out on my birthday!

OP posts:
Maltesers88 · 30/06/2011 20:36

devon the lemon thing is actually working! Might look a bit odd on the bus though Wink

So far today I've managed:

  • bowl of cheerios
  • large handful of cheese crackers
  • small pasta salad (at desk)
  • few slices of cucumber (inside not rind)

DH is making me boiled eggs and soldiers (again) so hopefully that will get me through the night.

We just told both set of parents too!! Still so early but more to moan about my sorry state than anything else. Usual nonchalant reaction from my mother (to be expected) but dad and in-laws were v excited and supportive.

Tonights conclusion is to call Acupuncturist in the morning.

Positive vibes and a good nights sleep to all Smile

Sugarkane · 30/06/2011 20:37

Hi everyone hope you dont mind me hoping on the bus, had a BFP 3 days ago this will be dc3 I have a dd 3 and a ds 20 months (I must be mad). I tried and tried to read your first thread but couldnt keep up so decided to just give in an say hello here and hope to catch up on most things as I go.

Im due on the 24th Feb (I think) so 5+6 today, not much sickness so far but ive deff got the runs (TMI sorry) and so so tried. Have told my mum and dp mum but thats it going to wait until the 12 week scan before I break the news to everyone.

Needle · 30/06/2011 21:20

Hi ladies, comiserations to all those suffering with MS. If I could take it off your hands (bellies?) for a few weeks, I seriously would- it's DD's christening on the 24th, and I'm definitely not going to fit into my one smart dress by then. Just can't stop eating, it's quite disgusting. We were "auditioning" a new baker for the Tea House today, so I've eaten what feels like 100 cupcakes as part of the all important taste test. Don't want to think about cake for at least a week.

Innocent that's great news about the scan! Are you disappointed that your hunch about twins turned out to be false? I hope not. I'm so jealous of you getting in such an early scan, it seems like years before I get to see my baby and with my almost total lack of symptoms I'm becoming increasingly convinced there's nothing there!

Malteasers That's lovely about your parents. I've told my mum and my sister, neither of them seem very impressed!

WicketKeeper sounds like you've got a wannabee sonographer on your hands there!

DD has been a poor grizzly little thing today- she's got a bug, as has the dog, so it's been poo and sick central in our house all day. I hope she hasn't caught something from the dog, as that could potentially be really dangerous.

Those of you on your second go, are you finding this pregnancy very different to your first? Part of me is a little disappointed that the major decisions, like what pram, which nappies, which cot are all made already and I don't get the excitement of doing it for the first time all over again. Am I being spoilt?

Hi to everyone I've missed, and hope everyone's doing ok x

6 + 3 today.

QueenFee · 30/06/2011 21:26
