Glad it all went well mellie, have fun on your shopping trip!!! I think it changes DH when they can actually see there's something in there, mine keeps taking to my little bump now saying he loves he/she! Bless him!

ITryToBeZenBut · 03/08/2011 13:39

Great scan news mellie and all others Smile

Mine was meant to be yesterday - got a phone call first thing to cancel - staff shortage. Now next Tuesday. Happens I suppose but so disappointed.

I also saw a colleague at work who texted me when I had a few days off last week enquiring how I was etc - sent him a generic 'fine, back soon' reply. Got to work yesterday and he came straight over saying how pleased he was I was back, how unusal of me to take time off, nothing serious he hoped, was I better etc, - he spent a good few mins trying to dig about why I was off where I made it clear I wasn't telling him before he then said 'do you mind if I ask you what you were off with?' - eerrrrrrrrh yes I bloomn well do you nosey parker!!!! How rude!

Sugar80 · 03/08/2011 13:40

Very good to hear all the nice scan news!! Coffee you're due the same day as me! I had my booking appointment a week last Friday, but that's mainly because I'm super impatiant and keep pushing to get the earliest apointments I can!! I doubt the midwife will say anything about your weight if you're fit and healthy, although mine went on at me about healthy eating even though I already eat reasonably well and my weight is bang on for my height! Think it's on the list of things they have to tell you.

I did something silly today. I bought a pregnancy test and did it, just to make 100% sure all is as it should be, having lost all my symptoms. It went positive immediately, and now I feel like an idiot, albeit a reassured idiot!!

Well ive just been sick AGAIN. Enough now baby, please! I feel so fragile, if i smell something grose or cough too hard i puke :(

My belly is starting to ache a lot, especially at night, thats just me growing, right? I dont remember anything about being pregnant haha :)

Were lucky up here we dont have to pay for scan photos, they just have a donation tin.

hermionejgranger · 03/08/2011 15:08

good scan news mellie but gutted for zen...hope they don't put mine back! we have to pay a FIVER for EACH photo at our hospital - and there's something on my letter about bringing £1 coins for the "ticket machine" - not sure if they mean for the car park or the photos!!!

babycarmen I thought I was getting better but was sick twice yesterday again. Although before that the last time was Friday so it is improving from the daily spew of recent weeks. Fingers crossed it'll ease off for you soon. It is so tiresome, isn't it? :(

sugar I have been tempted to POAS again too but am working on the assumption that continuing nausea means that things are all OK. I read another thread (or it might have been earlier on this one - can't remember) where people were saying they were worried they'd get to their 12wk scan - the first time someone DOESN'T just take your word for it - and the sonographer would look at them strangely and go "there, there, dear...you are not preggy at all!" - and I was so relieved it's not just me thinking like that!

CoffeeOne · 03/08/2011 15:29

Sugar - hello due date buddy! My booking appointment went well, she didn't mention my weight or eating just that they'd weigh me at the next appointment. She said from the info she's got I 'look like a low risk pregnancy' which I took to mean I don't look as heavy as I am! lol. Got my scan date, 15th August. Eee! I don't blame you for peeing on another stick, I'm tempted myself!

louby86 · 03/08/2011 15:53

hermione we had to take £1 coins for the machine or we weren't allowed a picture because the hospital staff don't want to handle money! It was £3 for 3 pictures and they tell you all about how they keep the money in the department to help pay for new ultrasound machines and stuff so I didn't really mind but some hospitals charge a fortune!

babycarmen · 03/08/2011 15:57

It is very tiresome :(
Anyone else constantly crying? I thought this would pass too but im still a wreck, especially if i see/read/watch anything baby related!!

CoffeeOne · 03/08/2011 16:00

babycarmen I've been making the mistake of watching One Born Every Minute on 4od and I keep sobbing! I didn't cry the 1st time I watched it...

babycarmen · 03/08/2011 16:12

Ive not seen any of that One born every minute, i do watch Baby Tales on the home&health channel which i think is probably pretty much the same but a bit dated? Always cry at the birth! I might just have to watch some OBEM on 4od though.. im a sucker for those programmes now im pregnant!

phlossie · 03/08/2011 16:24

I'm very teary too. And having not been sick for the best part of a week, I have been spewing for the last few days - was sick in Sainsbury's today. I remember this from last time, though, being ok and then having a relapse and going to my GP in tears at 13 weeks begging her to make it stop. I also went to my GP when my dd was 13 weeks because I'd been focussing on her colic stopping at 13 weeks, and begging her to make it stop!

OBEM has me in floods.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 03/08/2011 16:33

Bill, my scan's not till next Wed Sad. Desperately TRYING to be patient.

And weeping lots. DH is sick to the back teeth of it.

hermionejgranger · 03/08/2011 17:18

omg the WEEPING!!! what on earth is that all about?! I'm the same! And at silly things like the news, and films I don't normally even get a throat lump at! Going to see HP on Saturday - how on earth am I going to cope?

louby that sounds a bit more reasonable I suppose...will have to get DH to carry all those £1 coins so I don't put my back out! Wink

MrsL01 · 03/08/2011 18:37

Hello fellow Feb 2012 mums-to-be :)

I'm new to the website and thread, due on the 15th Feb 2012 with my 12 week scan tomorrow.

Looking forward to sharing all the ups and downs with you all :)

YellowSparkle · 03/08/2011 19:56

Its great to here about all the scans. Mine is not until next wendesday Envy Although went last week to the hospital for my booking in and had my bloods taken. I think its about £3.50 per scan photo where i am...suprised the price differs depening on the hospital.
My sickness has started to go which is a relief :)

I asked at our appointment why some places were so expensive and the sonographer said that they only have to cover the cost of the ink and paper because the pct don't see it as an important medical cost they should be paying for. That's fair enough and if it means more money goes on medicine etc then I agree with it but for some people to pay £3 for 3 photos like I did and then others have to pay £5 for each photo, I think that's outrageous and shows some trusts are just out to profit on people wanting a keepsake! Sorry that was a bit rant-like. I'm a bit emotional, just sat on DH's sunglasses and broke them and then cried for 10 minutes asking him why he was still with me! A bit overdramatic I know! madeindevon2 · 03/08/2011 20:49

Really want my scan NOW!!! Not til Monday. Never again will I be wishing away a weekend and wishing for a Monday!!
My local hospital charges fiver per photo!

Also v weepy and eating more than I should to stave off feeling sick...
I'm 11+4

m1nn1em0u5e · 03/08/2011 22:27

Went for gender scan tonight, but baby kept him/herself bottom down!....the Dr really couldn't see! I went back 30 minutes later & baby had changed position & just moved to the other side still tucked up!....back in 2 weeks now as we are away next week!....seen my consultant & had quad test today, seem to have spent most of the day waiting for hospital appointments today!..our trust charges £2 per scan picture for NHS scans. We got a nice DVD at the gender scan tonight, but that cost £40.

Rollersara · 04/08/2011 07:28

Hello MrsLo1, and welcome!

Must remember to take plenty of money to the scam scan then! I suspect my trust will be one of the more expensive ones. Very excited to find out actual due date, I have convinced myself I've got confused and it's earlier than I've been thinking!

I also have that slight sense of unreality - I've booked NCT classes and had nightmares of having to ring them and cancel because it will turn out that I'm not actually pregnant :(

BillComptonstrousers · 04/08/2011 09:35

Morning all! Well the scan was great yesterday, all legs and arms accounted for, but sleeping most of the time till the nurse made me bang my bum down on the bed a couple of times to wake it up, which worked!

DH got very misty eyed in the room god love him, I was just relieved there was a heartbeat Grin

It was DH birthday yesterday so went for a lovely meal at an asian restaurant in Durham, can't have my usual cocktail though, but they did have becks blue so I had one of them instead.

I'm off work for three weeks now and I just want to potter around in our new house, but the kids were climbing the walls yesterday so I might go and torture myself and got to the metro centre to buy all the school uniform I need then it is out of the way. They are still snoring their heads off at the minute though so will not get there till after lunch. And I may pop into the huge mothercare....

Have a lovely day!

currybaby · 04/08/2011 10:30

morning all. i'm a bit out of date with this thread now but just had a skim through.

i had a horrible week and a half after my scan and blood tests. as i came up 1 : 9 for trisomy 13 & 18 i had to have a CVS and then wait over a week for the results. it was the longest week of my life but luckily they came back positive and the baby is all fine! i have low protein in my blood which from internet means higher risk of low birth weight and even miscarraige further down the line but the midwife didn't seem to think it was a problem. so my wriggling peach sized baby is all confirmed as healthy finally!

i've bought a few maternity bits too now. i've found h&m great - got some leggings and long vest tops to wear over trousers that are held together with hair bands (great tip i got off here!) and i've got a top from gap too. i want to put an elastic panel in the front of some of my shorts / jeans to carry on wearing them - does anyone know where i can buy that from? i can't find any online and john lewis didn't do it.

a while ago a couple of you were saying which prams fit into ford KAs - to save me trawling through the thread can anyone let me know which ones do as thats what I've got?

great news for everyones scans and good luck for those that are this week!

btw i was told on my letter that scan pictures would cost £1.50 each but they just handed us loads on the day and didn't ask for any money..they even let DP take a couple of pictures of the screen with his phone which we could then text round to family as soon as we got out. but i think they were just been nice and turning a blind eye.

mrsrvc · 04/08/2011 11:50

Oh Curry Baby, it sounds like you have really been through it these last few weeks. SO glad to hear that all is well now.
We got too got told that you have to pay for pics, but then were just given loads.
The fabric thing to put in the front of your trousers etc is called a belly belt. You can buy them all over the internet.
All well here. Sickness subsiding but indigestion starting..
I already have a massive bump so its getting pretty obvious now, but I am still generally only telling people as we see them.

14w today!

diedandgonetodevon · 04/08/2011 13:02

Glad everything turned out to be fine currybaby, I can't imagine how stressful that wait must have been for you.

m1nn1em0u5e · 04/08/2011 15:55

Congratulations currybaby x
