Just been into town (big mistake). But had a look in H&M. The one where I live is renown for being utter parp when it comes to ladies stuff. But omg! So much cute baby clothes! Love it

Sugarkane · 30/07/2011 19:32

notcitrus Ive started popping if you know what I mean but no pain there yet, only a matter of time I guess. Are you suffering already?

No scan date through yet, will give them until monday and if nothing by then I will chase them up, although I dont have a number or anything for them.

Sugarkane · 30/07/2011 19:38

melliebobs Im keeping away from anywhere that sells baby clothes I have full wardrobes from both DD and DS in the loft (couldnt part with any of it) so no need to spend on too many new clothes, as they are only 3 and 2 they are not really dated either. Although I know I wont be able to resist and will end up getting just a few outfits wont I??

melliebobs · 30/07/2011 21:09

Of course you will sugarcane it's all part of the fun! You have to get a couple of outfits that are their own! This is my first so I have every reason too but sister in law sent up about 4 bin bags full from her previous 3DC before we even found out. So will have fun rifling through them too!

mummymccar · 30/07/2011 21:46

I went into h&m baby section the other day too - so cute!!! I have been very restrained, though I can't say the same for my mum! She can't wait until I get to 12 weeks so she can start buying! This is the first baby in both of our families (not even cousins or anything!) so will be buying EVERYTHING new! Already sweating buckets at the thought of how much it'll all cost! Thinking that most things will be from eBay!

Sugarkane · 30/07/2011 22:57

Oh god DP is going to kill me, or mum as she normally buys my prams I NEED the Mima Xari.

sarahken · 30/07/2011 23:20

Don't know if I'm on the stats list or not, been mainly lurking. Had my scan on thursday. I'm now 12+6. Due 5/2/2011. C-section has been booked for 2/2/2012 :)

sarahken · 30/07/2011 23:34

can't find the stats list to add myself on, anyone know where it is?

above should read due 5/2/2012 not 2011 doh :)

hermionejgranger · 31/07/2011 01:11

sarahken the stats thread is here :) congrats on your scan!

hermionejgranger · 31/07/2011 01:14

notcitrus I'm having similar difficulties with trousers. I'm being very inventive with hair bobbles to stop my usual trousers from gaping open entirely and wearing long tops!

Xavielli · 31/07/2011 07:35

I am so tired! After falling asleep at 8.30pm I woke up at 1am and just could not sleep. Finally had a doze at 6ish and the dc got up at 7. Really hoping I get the opportunity for a nap this afternoon.

On the upside my buggy is being delivered tomorrow, so that will take my mind off Tuesday's scan.

claricestar · 31/07/2011 09:58

feeling loads better here! As this pregnancy was a surprise I had got rid of loads of maternity and baby clothes. I had a fab denim tunic dress and some really well fitting black jeans that I sold on ebay for pennies! never mind. The good thing is that I kept all the mat clothes that I made including 2 dresses and a winter coat. The coat is massive, coccoon/cape style, but I was grateful of it when it was snowing. I have also kept all my nursing bras!
Using hair bobble with jeans here too, although I have converted some black skinny jeans into maternity jeans which I am rather proud of, by cutting off the waistband and making a new one with black jersey and wide elastic.
Have given away most of my kids clothes but love shopping for baby clothes so happy to start again!

Clarice - wow! You should give lessons. Super industrious. I wish I had the courage to get the sewing machine out more.

louby86 · 31/07/2011 11:37

I'm very impressed Clarice! I'm sticking with the hair bobble for now! Got my scan tomorrow so maybe after that I'll have a look for some maternity jeans!

Fried my brain this morning looking at pushchairs online. My criteria is as follows:
3 wheeler all terrain style (we live in the sticks and it's going dog walking in the woods!)
Includes car seat
Can be like a pram for when sproggy is tiny

I don't think that's much to ask. I don't care how big or heavy it is, or if it's got a shopping basket. However, the only one I've found that does this is the Jane Slalom at £600!! If I sacrifice the pram bit I can get a Mothercare one for £200 so that may be a better option...

Maybe I'll leave it until after Christmas....

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 31/07/2011 14:26

iCandy Apple does all that. I have the Cherry, which is quite a bit lighter and love it, but friends have the Apple who live put of town and therefore lots of offeoading and love it. I don't like the Jane personally as it can only face away from the parent in pushchair mode and just looks mahoosive esp in pram mode. The Apple fits the Maxicosi Cabriofix.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 31/07/2011 14:27

I think Mountain buggy (or some name similar to that) is meant to do good offroad style buggies

Xavielli · 31/07/2011 14:32

I have an iCandy cherry too and would recommend their products to anyone. The apple is lovely as it is nice and sturdy and can be 3 or 4 wheeler! Also the apple converts into a double if you were to have another bub. They go for around £200 - £300 second hand on eBay or if you are on Facebook search for 'Jo Peterson thebabyemporium' she will find you whatever you're looking for 2nd hand and in very very good condition.

melliebobs · 31/07/2011 14:41

I'm really pushing dh for iCandy peach. But have noticed the iCandy peach jogger is 'coming soon' all the peachy goodness but with three wheels. Dh of course doesn't think we should get a pram that costs more than my car! But that wouldn't be hard anyway!!!!!!

shipsladyg · 31/07/2011 14:45

Sugar80 - if you want a serious ATP (all terrain pushchair) then I highly recommend the Landrover. Ridiculously they stopped making them in the nineties - possibly because, like their namesake vehicle, they're virtually indestructible: thus their second hand price on e-bay is nearly what they sold for new!!!! We have two - one for the car and one for from home. The pram attachment is lovely and cozy, but big enough for longer babies. The storm cover is fantastic for wet & windy walks and is airy for your little one - not like some clingfilm covers on some buggies. The shower cover is compact. The shopping basket is spacious. It's very very light so I've found it fine on London Underground. Beautifully balanced. Smooth ride. The tough wheels sneer at the thought of punctures. The seat just pops off and into the washing machine; ideal for when your LO smears it with ice-cream. A four year old could sit in it comfortably if you let them be that lazy. Folds flat. Wheels come off if you need them too. You can get a flight case if you go abroad. I found mine fabulous on the beach (where the other mums battle dragging their bugaboos across the sand), in the woods and in alpine snow.

Plus - it's the nearest thing my DH is going to get to a "real" landrover car this side of winning the lottery.

shipsladyg · 31/07/2011 14:48

There's a company on Devon that tests all the ATP's to destruction. Their website is very helpful. I think if you literally google all terrain pushchair they cone up near the top.

I've heard good things about the mountain buggy and the out & about.

If you want something pretty though, ATP's are not for you.

louby86 · 31/07/2011 15:02

Hopefully if all goes well tomorrow we'll be off to pre order the icandy strawberry! My friend has an apple as she doesn't drive and does a lot of walking so we were looking for something a bit smaller. Can wait to test them all out in John Lewis tomorrow!

louby86 · 31/07/2011 15:02

Can't* I'm that excited I can't write properly! Smile

Sugar80 · 31/07/2011 15:52

Oooh, the iCandy ones look pretty!! I like....

Mountain Buggy's seem to have gone downhill after the company was taken over, and the Land Rover ones look fab but not much on Ebay at the moment, and nothing with a pram thing (will keep an eye out though!). I have however now found the Baby Jogger Summit which seems reasonably priced and looks to fit the bill quite nicely.

I have far too much time on my hands today!!

babycarmen · 31/07/2011 17:38

Hii :) Just popping by for a catch up!
Nausea i THINK is starting to go.. I went from being sick once a week to about twice a day and then it just stopped, my fingers are so tightly crossed that it stays away, i still feel quite sick after i eat but im keeping stuff down now.

Managed to do ironing and cook dinner today! Woohoo! Felt good to be off the sofa and out the bathroom!
Only thing im struggling with is dizziness right now, showering is a nightmare so gone back to baths!

We havent started looking at pushchairs yet, suppose that will be the next task!
