ThomCat · 22/11/2005 17:22

Is that Flutter, I need to go back and find out the news.
How exciting.

Meanwhile I had to have the day off today again.
Had such bad pains last night, like a stitch, I couldn't stand up properly, couldn't move at all tbh. It actually made tears come down my face.
We managed to get me up to bed and D did his best to get me comfy. I finally fell asleep but it still hurt this morning so I rang the midwife.

I couldn't remember bub moving much yesterday so with that and the pain she got me up to the hossie for some monitoring. Everything fine but she told me to come home and rest. So I did. Slept for a couple of hours. Plan to have dinner, a bath and go straight back to bed.

Hope you're all ok. TC xxx

ninah · 22/11/2005 17:34

hello tc, I've been having pains like this, rest does seem to be the only thing to help, hope you feel a bit better soon x
SH OMG!!! head engaged!!! oh, dear, goodness gracious, it's really on it's way. Take care, keep smiling :-) xxx

ThomCat · 22/11/2005 17:50

Hi Ninah, it's a mamouth task trying to catch up with you chatty lot!

sweetheart · 22/11/2005 18:05

See, what would I do without you lot. Ninah and DQ have cheered me up about dd and DQ and Nemo both say back to back can be OK!

I'm pretty exhausted today after the emotion of everything, hopefully it means I will at least get a good nights sleep.

Will be home all day tomorrow as dh is having my car. He hit an ice patch this morning and crashed his car - he's fine, just means we have to pay for his car to be fixed!!!!

Flutter, it's great to hear from you and I'm so pleased George is doing well. Won't be long until we are all chatting about ounces of milk which at the moment I have NO CLUE about!

ei23mummy · 22/11/2005 18:16

mmm got a dilemma ladies so thought would ask your opinions.Dh told me today that he wants to put ours up on sunday as it is the first day of advent. It always been a tradition in his house but I am not sure.I love xmas and usually do it around 1st/2nd dec and I know its only a few days till the 1st dec but it just seems odd..lol However other thing is that could be his last day off until I go in to have the baby on the 15th do practically would prefer to put them up when he is around...so what do I do??????
My nan suggested putting them up but not switching lights on.

Jaysfirst · 22/11/2005 19:41

Found you all! nice new thread, i wonder what this one will bring!

Nemo re the decs, id go for it, maybe this is the year for different things to be happening.. 'new baby' early chrissie decs... so what if they are a few days early dont forget you will be in hospital for a few days with new baby when it arrives so you will miss out on a few days viewing!! get 'em up i say!

Not sure if i can remember all thats been going on on here, i had a skim trough but honestly if you dont post for just one day you miss out on so much!

ninah.... is a month really AGES away???? god i hope so.
Have been thinking a lot more about my SPD and the labour, does anyone know of anybody that has complications during normal delivery? At my antenatal today another lady was telling me that her doc and midwife recommend a c section as that way there wont be any reprocussions after birth with the pelvis area... i have to say the SPD is getting worse with everyday, i can only walk a few hundred yards before pure agony sets in, i cant sleep becasue i cant move let alone turn over in bed, i cant sit for long or i seize up, i really feel at the end of my tether with it, its crippling, and to top it all DH is away again till Thursday night feeling sorry for myself here, but i just dont get any sleep as i end up trying to sleep sitting up on the settee in the lounge....i dont mean to go on and i hate moaning about things, buti guess i just want to have some ideas about anything anyone may have heard?? thankfully its less that 40 days to go now...phewee

ThomCat · 22/11/2005 20:06

Blimey, yeah what will this thread bring? How exciting

Blimey - SH - that's quite scary. Glad he's ok.
Back to back by the way is fine, not ideal but fine, and anyway still plenty of time for him or her to move. The most important thing is not to focus in it and make it out to be bad or you'll be tense and that will make things difficult. So chill and focus on the fact that plenty of women give birth perfectly happily (iykwim!) with back to back babies, and anyway he/she could turn anytime so......

My mum and dad (divorced but good mates) have devised a plan to ensure I lift Lottie as little as possible but I've chilled them out a bit. One of the mums at the nursery carries Lottie in for me and I'll just be as careful as possible. To be honest I'm sure it's got a lot more to do with the dancing util 4am at my best friends birthday on Saturday night!

bonkerz · 22/11/2005 20:19

YEY for a new thread!

Nemo, you have to put your decs up on sunday now because i told DH you were doing it and he said it would be good for us to do it too on that date as he is home and DSD will be here etc etc. We have every right to put them up early as we are going to miss a few days of the christmas joy by having a baby!!!! So up and sorted by Sunday night, hear me?? LOL

SH, lots of fresh pineapple, hot curries and sex then! Next December baby on its way!

TC, sorry about pains, lots of rest and im sure it was just the dancing!!

Am update on my nieces baby! Apparently she had so many phonecalls saying WHY have you nicked Sams name that she has changed her little boys name to...... and i feel bad now cos the poor boy will be picked on..... Sidney Barry Charles... no probs there really but they have a double barrelled south african surname!!!! Ah well atleast its not Alex!! Wouldnt have changed my babies name any how because i have a lovely blanket here from my secret stork with ALEX LEIGH embroidered on it!!

Jaysfirst, you poor thing, totally sypathise and wished you lived nearer so we could 'do lunch'! Do you have any pills to help with pain? I know how hard it is to sit still and rest cos its hard to get comfy! hugs for you babe!

conqueen · 22/11/2005 21:09

My gosh , it cant be December so Soon can it ... ive been off work since Oct, and it has felt at the start like ages ago... now realising that its nearly dec s like being hit in the face with a wet fish ... a huge wake up call!

im more a reader than a poster on here ... i spend most of my liited web time trying to catch up with all the posts!

Even though i know that im going to be very busy very soon (or we all are!)i cant help feeling very much like a lab rat. Like quite a few of you proberbly are, im stuck to bed rest, with the family constantly asking me ho i am, i i ave even a sligtest hand movement out of the norm or i ut my hand on my stomach for longer than norm they instantly jump and expect there is something wrong.

i know i should just appreciate the concern but i cant help but get frustrated at their reactions!

Oh well, i suppose i should concentrate on the fact we have only a month left until i see my dd.

36+3

dramaqueen72 · 22/11/2005 21:28

ninah · 23/11/2005 09:23

nemo - DO It! Xmas can start now! go on!
do it while you've still got the energy!
TC it could be to do with the carrying y'know, I got the pains after carrying ds through town on Sat (big time tantrum ..)
I'm joining you ladies with 'naughty' big siblings .. summoned to ds nursery this morning for 'chat' ...
Hope you feeling better today sh!

george32 · 23/11/2005 09:24

Morning everyone. Completely overdid it yesterday by going shopping when really I should have been on the sofa. Then NCT last night (argh, til 10.00 again!) so finally got a half decent nights kip - I was totally shattered. Lazy day doing NOTHING today.

Bonkerz, so glad that your niece has seen sense & changed her babys name. That was a terrible thing to do.

SH, does sound like you are next but will you make it to December? Still can't believe you have an exam to take still in Dec. You really can't feel much like it now.

Thanks for starting the new thread Ei, I think we will fit another one in by the time we have all popped though. I could have almost another 8 weeks to go if I'm late. Then again, if I reach that point it will just be me talking to myself!!

george32 · 23/11/2005 09:27

That took me ages to type, how many posts whilst I was trying to make my fingers work?!!

Minnie, go home if you are feeling bad. I was calling in sick from exhaustion back in September so I think at 8 Months p/g you are allowed to be feeling a little grim.

Ooooh, Ninah, a chat heh? Sounds ominous!

Nemo1977 · 23/11/2005 09:36

morning all

george take it easy today

SH didnt see about the accident glad everything is ok. You may well be our next baby here..awww

Minnie go home who cares about work..lol at 5lb baby I have no chance of that think this little one is about 6lb odd already at least. When had scan yesterday I did say to dh the head looked big..lol

ninah sigh at naughty older siblings..Adam has good and bad days.

sweetheart · 23/11/2005 09:39

morning all! I feel better (emotionally) than I did yesterday thank - no tears this morning but I've still got the crappy cold so I'm off in a second to relax in a really hot bath!

Yes, still got my exam looming overhead and I'm really feeling the pressure - I wish I didn't have to sit it but I know I'd kick myself if I gave up now.

Dh is fine, thanks to everyone for your concern. He is a HGV driver so he's pretty good in situations like this - he said he knew what was happening and how to control it the second he started slipping. The car needs fixing but at least he's OK and I'm so glad it was in his car and not his HGV!

Minnie - def think you should go home, who needs work on this cold winter morning! Take yourself home and curl up with a duvet

I hope everyone else is doing well. I'll try and get over myself now and stop being so wrapped up in hormonal city!

MINNIE1 · 23/11/2005 09:41

Ebbie,
The doctor did a scan and on the screen the weight comes up (moderern tech).. He did a really good check on all the measurements. He asked if we wanted to know the sex but i couldnt not at this stage..

Going to ask to go home feck it i am not well and i have been really good as in coming in.. I have little over a 2 wks left till maternity leave. O it wont come quick enough!

Jaysfirst · 23/11/2005 10:54

good morning ladies, is it too slobbish to still be in my pj's and dressing gown?

POO nights sleep again, cant move in bed for love nor money...anyway i wont go on.

Good for you Minnie, go home definatley, its to cold and horried out there to be at work at the best of times, let alone when your preggers!

Dont worry George i will prob still be with you, if the bubs is anything likeme she wont want to bugde for as long as she can get away with!
Still thinking about whether i may need to have a c section...what with the SPD etc....will chat to MF on Friday, in the middle of the night when it takes me 15 mins to get out of bed to go to the loo, i tell myself i will def be having one.....lol still will see i guess.

Going to wrap some pressies today, its a good time while DH is away, only have about four more to get so feeling chuffed, this is the first year i have ever been this organised..

Jaysfirst · 23/11/2005 13:59

i cant believe theres noone about......is there anyone here???

babygibbon · 23/11/2005 14:20

I can't believe you're all so organised. Nursery still not ready (although painted now and with carpet which is a huge improvement), DH off on Friday to complete it. Christmas shopping not yet begun, and labour bag not yet packed. I am making lists today though, so that I feel more organised!

Saw the consultant today - fantastic news, don't know how or when it happened (which is bizarre because everyone told me you'll know if it turns!) but baby is no longer breech. Consultant palpitated me a bit and said, hmmm I'm not sure if it's breech, I think it's just got a hard bottom! Then he scanned me and said, no, definitely head down! Fantastic. No ECV and hopefully no caesarean (although a weeny little bit of me is slightly disappointed that I have to go through labour again, can't say I enjoyed it the first time!).

I also asked about the size as the midwife had it measuring 36 weeks at 34. The consultant said it measures 36 weeks (am now 35 + 5 ish) so looks fine. It won't be a small baby, but it's not unusually large...phew.

DD has just awoken from her nap so I better go and rescue her. Hope everyone and bumps are doing well - can you believe it, max another two weeks and all of us will have reached the magic 37, our bubs will be full term! Wow!

bonkerz · 23/11/2005 14:26

Afternoon all,

Had a busy morning and am feeling it now! Went to a toddler group with some childminder friends and over did ity a bit me thinks!!
Have finished packing my hospital bags, went to ASDA today and got 2 pairs of jog bottoms, what i dont understand is i tried on my normal size and they were massive so have had to get the size down from what i was before i got pregnant!! So hopefully by the time i give birth i will actually be 2 dress sizes SMALLER than i was in Jan of this year!!!! What are the chances of that happening!!
Got all my crimbo cards today so am gonna actually sit and write them ALL when i have collected Ben from school, although not looking forward to the walk to school as am sore!
