DarciesmumandBump2 · 27/06/2011 21:05

best get your skates on lol

thinkingpositive · 27/06/2011 22:22

Hi Darcie
Ooooh very exciting times for you...Congrats!!
Our wedding song which you don?t hear that often but the words are beautiful is Brian Adams - Here I am. It starts off as "Here I am..." then goes onto " Here we are...." Has one of those "aaaahhhhh..." feelings to it.

Good luck with the plans, plus the BIG Day...

With regards to clothes... Its New look and H&M for me. I have to pay a small fortune for Baby setup... (Cot, wardrobe, changing table, Pram etc) im not paying £60 for a pair of trousers with a band around them.
Oh hint to save money... New look have tummy bands that you can use over your existing clothes so your undone zips or buttons don?t show. I love mine. £9 for 2. Bargin.....

16 week consultation appointment tomorrow. What do I expect? The reason for the consultation is that I have had cysts on my ovaries before but haven?t bothered me since... Why will this be any different to a normal appointment?

xstitch · 27/06/2011 22:51

We are having our first dance to 'Just the way you are'.

When are you getting married darcies

plupervert · 27/06/2011 23:38

HI, all. Sorry I've been out of touch. We got back from Croatia yesterday, and I have to say it's a bit disappointing the weather isn't cooler here! Grin

Sorry to hear about the horrible headaches which have been plaguing people. It's probably all the worse because of heat. Sad

Mizza76 re babies bringing presents, OUT OF THE VERY WOMB. My DS keeps asking whether the baby is wearing a top, or this evening, whether it is in a car seat. Confused He does make less contentious statements, though, such as "babies have big heads!"

KateM77 · 28/06/2011 07:37

Darcies We had 'Here, there and everywhere' by the Beatles (lovely lyrics, DH chose it Blush ) and 'Dance me to the end of love' by Madeleine Peyroux (it has a nice lyric about the children who are waiting to be born)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 28/06/2011 07:41

Thanks Ladies Grin

18th August 2012 is when we get married. However, want to try and get most of the planning done now before DC2 comes along.

BeeMyBaby · 28/06/2011 08:51

I don't think I even knew I was going to get married that far in adavance Darciesmum, it will be well planned!

I have been trying not to use any perfume for weeks in case it caused foetal harm, and I thought for some reason that I had to wait till 18 weeks, but just googled it and its actually only 12 weeks, oh well, tomorrow I plan to smell like coconuts then!

xstitch · 28/06/2011 09:07

We only decided to get married in January darcies ordered dress in February and fell pregnant in March oops Grin

Mizza76 · 28/06/2011 10:04

Plu - how old is your DS? My DD (nearly 5) did ask me the other day if the baby is wearing clothes. Thank goodness she seems to have come to terms with the idea of a baby and is now quite interested. We'll see if that changes when it gets closer.... My younger one (2.5) doesn't understand that we are having a baby and I'm not going to bother talking to her about it until much closer to the time, but yesterday I held a friend's newborn and she rushed up to me saying: "That's my mummy! That's DD1's mummy!" Think we might have a jealousy problem....!

Mizza76 · 28/06/2011 10:13

By the way, I've posted a question on the pregnancy forum but would be interested to know about the experience of ppl on here as well.... I'm now exactly 16 weeks but haven't felt the baby move yet. It's my third pregnancy and I thought that in second / third pregnancies you felt the baby move relatively early (I have no recollection of when I felt no.2 move). Has anyone else in a subsequent pregnancy not felt movement until after 16 weeks?
You would think that I would have relaxed after my scan but for some reason still v nervous.....

ThePippy · 28/06/2011 10:41

Hi mizza I am 17 weeks today with DC2 and even though I thought I felt the baby moving much earlier (about 12 weeks) after the scan at 13 weeks I suddenly stopped feeling anything so I think it was probably just wind. Last week I had my 16 week appointment and the MW failed to hear a heartbeat which really worried me given I thought the movements had stopped. However I ordered a doppler from Amazon and it came late yesterday, and within less than a minute of trying I found the heartbeat - yipeee! Ironically today I am feeling a lot of wriggly type movements which is just typical after buying the doppler.

So your baby is probably just in a place where you can't feel them yet and is happily swimming around in their waters undetected by you. With DD I think I felt her move somewhere around 18 weeks but even then that wasn't consistent until after 20 weeks.

plupervert · 28/06/2011 10:44

Mizza, DS is 3.
Sorry, I don't know about when movements should be felt, but hope you get an answer from somewhere. I'm just over 16 weeks, and have to be very quiet to feel the baby (if it's moving), so maybe it's a calm one. I'm also drinking a lot less coffee than last time around. DS was and is an "active one, so maybe the coffee does have its effect. Is that at all relevant for you?

msbuggywinkle · 28/06/2011 10:50

I'm fortunate as a few of my friends have little babies, DD1 (5 in July!) is just very excited and plans to have the first hold of the baby (home birth again) ad likes cuddling my mini-bump (I say mini, I look more like 25 weeks gone not 15!). She adores babies though, and has told me that she is 'in charge of making the baby laugh'.

DD2 is 2.4 and talks to the baby quite a lot, usually she introduces herself and then does a dance/bounce/hop and says 'look baby tummy, I'm hopping!' She is also ok with the idea that 'baby tummy' will have milk with her!

plupervert · 28/06/2011 11:07

"she is 'in charge of making the baby laugh'."
That is beyond sweet! She deserves some special time on her own with Mummy for that sort of tolerance and love!

I must admit that I'm already dreading finding the energy to have special time with DS once the baby is here. I never could "nap when the baby naps" with DS (I found being woken up was worse than not getting the sleep), and won't be able to do it with this one, either!

Mizza76 · 28/06/2011 11:22

ThePippy - glad you found the heartbeat. I don't think a doppler would work for me - I'm too much the type that would spend all day listening and panicking when I can't hear anything. I have a physio appointment at my hospital tomorrow and am thinking of going into the maternity day unit to make sure everything's ok. I don't have a midwife's appointment at 16 weeks otherwise I would wait for that (seeing the consultant instead at 18 weeks)...

Plu - not a coffee drinker but addicted to diet coke which could have the same effect. Unfortunately diet coke is one of the things I am absolutely 'off' during pregnancy (in fact, anyone who knows me knows that me refusing a cup of diet coke is one of the first signs of pregnancy....)!

plupervert · 28/06/2011 11:31

Guess it's the ProPlus for your caffeine fix, then! Wink

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 28/06/2011 12:45

Hi Mizza, I'm 16+6 weeks with DC2, and other than what I think were two kicks 6 days ago, I've felt nothing since. It may not have been baby movements, but it did feel like what I'm sure I remember from last time. Mind you, I think with DS it was definitely over 20 weeks before I felt him move.

Any of you other second-timers (or third, or fourth, or more!) finding other things are happening sooner with this pregnancy - I know someone earlier down the chat (sorry, I can't move back up the pages to check your name) said they were getting numb hands earlier this time? I've got SPD, which has come in about two months earlier this time, but conversely the nausea is lasting much longer.

I also seem to be getting loads of comments along the lines of 'you're massive. Last time you had a tiny little bump, and now you're huge! What do you mean you've still got 6 months to go?' Yeah, thanks for that, that makes me feel great! Do you show more/earlier in subsequent pregnancies?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 28/06/2011 20:32

Sotired I've had your bump has popped out a lot in the last week.

well according to my GP I have pregnancy induced migraines :( to much oestrogen in the body and cut out caffeine so no tea or fizzy till baby's born. boohoo.

xstitch · 28/06/2011 21:08

I am feeling so depressed and anxious today. Then I worry about the damage I am doing to the baby and feel worse.

LauraSmurf · 28/06/2011 21:24

xstitch, are you alright hun?

I don''t know any of the details (i'm a very sporadic lurker) but surely if you are worried then you are being a good mum and caring for your baby already.

What do you think is hurting your baby?

Hugs x

xstitch · 28/06/2011 21:27

Me getting anxious, low and sobbing.
