I haven't brought anything yet as kept all the gender neutral stuff from DD. As we're not finding out the sex I do need to buy a couple of boy babygros and girls ones Smile

Well and truly hacked off with these headaches. Never had headaches like it Sad went to the Hard Rock Calling festival in London yesterday to see Bon Jovi. Laid on a blanket and kept topped up with water, ice cream and American donuts Smile Bon Jovi came on at 7:15pm not due to finish till 10:15pm we had to come away at 9:15 as I couldn't stand well and I was starting to get nauseous so missed the last hr. And guess what still woken up with a poxy headache Sad

KateM77 · 26/06/2011 09:48

Welcome rek I have a similar small age gap. DD is 14 months, and I'm due 10th Dec. Age gap of almost 20 months if it arrives then, or more like 19 months if it arrives as early as DD did. From what friends have told me, the first 6 months are pretty tough, but after that it gets easier and they'll play really nicely together being so close in age. Fingers crossed! I'm trying not to think too much in advance how I'll cope with two little ones, it'll just do my head in and I know I'll cope with it when it happens because I'll have to!

sevendwarves · 26/06/2011 11:32

Sorry about all the headaches darcies Sad

Hope everyone else is having a lovely day enjoying the sunshine. Ds and I are in the garden playing football, eating ice pops and watching the guinea pigs.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 26/06/2011 13:00

Thanks everyone. We are watching F1 and enjoying a DD free afternoon. Although looking forward to her coming in - just hope it's without attitude! Hmm

Cherrypi · 26/06/2011 16:54

Hi everyone. The new summer fruits flavour of schloer is a good non alcoholic version of pimms and lemonade if you use your imagination a bit.

PinkM0nkey · 26/06/2011 22:33

Hi all, just joining in. Due date 31st Dec very excited. I have my 1st booked scan tomorrow, i've already had 2 one at 7 weeks and one at 10 weeks due to pain and bleeding, everything was apparently ok. So tomorrow i'll be 13 + 3 according to the last scan.

LittleMissFlustered · 26/06/2011 23:30

Darcies, you have all my sympathy. I have been having horrendous headaches too. I have been knocked sideways by them four days out of seven for the last three weeks or so. Today is the first day since Thursday that I have been able to open my eyes fully and not cringe at the brightness. It got so bad over the weekend I was online weighing up the pros and cons of one dose of ibu or syndol over my brain melting out of my ears:(

LittleMissFlustered · 27/06/2011 00:31

Decided to have another bash at doppling tonight. I got a faint heartbeat I think. Sounded too regular to be wind :)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 27/06/2011 07:37

LMF my sympathies too. Was told can use 4head or migraine strips. Woken again with a bloody headache :(

kri5ty · 27/06/2011 08:36

hey girlies, how was everyones weekend?

We moved house... major stress, and invloved me crying like a baby as it was supposed to havebeen decorated (renting), but wallpaper was hanging off, just painted over, and stunk of wet dog, boyfriend didnt understand and just kept saying "well theres is nothing we can do so stop getting upset" Angry he needs to learn im pregnant and need hugs when im upset haha rant over :o

but hurrah... on saturday i received the referral letter the my new hospital!

kri5ty · 27/06/2011 08:40

darcies how was bon jovi??

I may look at some bump bands online... just not too sure what would be the best ones!

msbuggywinkle · 27/06/2011 08:53

kir5ty that is horrible! I'd have cried too (mind you I cried talking to my Mum about a TV programme!) we rented until last November and some landlords really don't want to do anything.

Our weekend was good, went shopping on Saturday and visited my Gran and Grandad on Sunday then had sunday lunch at a lovely pub round the corner from our house. Darling DD2 decided to be awake from 3-5am on saturday, I did the first hour, DP the second but I still feel as though it has taken me all weekend to recover. Went to sleep when the DDs did last night, so feel great today!

DDs want to go to the museum today, but I will die of the heat there! Might see if I can tempt them with the paddling pool and hose instead.

HoneyLovesCake · 27/06/2011 09:39

Morning everyone. Had a fairly uneventful weekend; watched F1 on Sunday while trying to have a clear out of my wardrobe...trying to see what "pregnancy-friendly" regular clothes; there's not much :(. Also, did a bit of gardening which may have not been the best idea as I'm aaaaching today!

So sorry for all of you with headaches; I was having them regularly & paracetamol doesn't touch them at all. My midwife suggested drinking a lot more water as you get dehydrated faster in pregnancy & I'm not sure but I seem to be getting them less frequently. Worth a try if you don't want to use any stronger medication Hmm

kri5ty · 27/06/2011 10:10

msbuggywinkle mmm sunday lunch... i keep dreaming of one, but i cant be bothered making one just for myself and my boyfriend... im too lazy haha
Oh and i cried at deal or no deal last week Blush

HoneyLovesCake i bought lots of maxi dresses last year so fingers crossed this weatehr stays nice as i can still fit in them .. yes!!

HoneyLovesCake · 27/06/2011 10:29

kri5ty maxi dresses are the best! I'm a bridesmaid for my best friend in August & we decided on maxi's from Coast rather than trying to find a maternity dress as even the pricey ones look quite frumpy...just went a size up to allow for the bump. I have a couple for summer too but mostly mini dresses most of which aren't wearable since my boobs got bigger & I'm not really comfortable in mini's now anyway...maybe with maternity leggings Hmm although that does sound a bit hot.

toomuchpizza · 27/06/2011 10:31

Morning everyone. Hope you all had a nice weekend.

I had my 16 week mw appointment on wednesday and everything was ok but she couldn't find the heartbeat and has asked me to come back this week. It's quite handy as I'll be in the surgery anyway as I've got my first glucose tolerance test. I had GD in my first pregnancy so I have to have regular tests, although with DS2 I didn't get GD and just had impaired tolerance.

I wasn't too worried about them not finding the heartbeat but came home and rented a doppler anyway just to put me at ease. It came the next day and I managed to find it so I feel better now!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 27/06/2011 11:40

Kri5ty Thats pants about the move. and I agree about Maxi dresses :)

Bon Jovi was brilliant as always, was just a shame I had a headache through out the day :(

KateM77 · 27/06/2011 11:42

Baby brain has well and truly kicked in. I drove 9 miles to the hospital this morning with my dooor keys on the roof of the car. Amazingly they were still there when I arrived!

I was referred to a consultant for possible pre-natal screening due to the medical issues DD had. As we suspected her problems aren't genetic so shouldn't be a problem with this one, and they can't screen for it prior to birth anyway. They're going to give me a growth scan at 35 weeks just for reassurance that this one is growing OK though, so that's a bonus :)

All good news today as I actually woke up without a headache for a change too. Those of you suffering have my sympathies.

So glad Monday is one of the days I don't work - couldn't face the tube in this heat!

jomouse · 27/06/2011 12:00

Kate The. tube. is. HELL

Hope everyones headaches clear up, I am also suffering a little but but sounds like I have it easy compared to some of you.

kri5ty · 27/06/2011 12:18

kate i had a little giggle then, i just had images of seeing a car with keys on top driving down the road :)

darcies are you still suffering with your head :( poor thing, im very lucky i only had a few mild ones, feel so sorry for yo, as there isnt anything you can do

honey yeh, i have a few sun dresses that i can fit in to.. but im thinking they are a it short for a prgnant woman to walk around in, i would prob get disaproving looks!

toomuchpizza thats great you managed to find it yourself :) i have my 16 week on weds, and im not even sure if they will try and find one x

ThePippy · 27/06/2011 12:20

jomouse I feel so sorry for you - it is bad enough sitting in my study at home let alone being crammed into the sardine cans they dare call tubes. I work from home on a Monday which I normally love, but I don't have air con and so today I am melting.

Really hoping my doppler arrives today. It was dispatched on Friday but by Royal Mail who from experience are a bit rubbish. toomuchpizza I am really comforted to hear that your MW didn't find the heart beat at your 16week check but you found it yourself at home. I am hoping I have the same success.

Very relaxed weekend, also watching F1 like some others, and desperately missing not being able to drink Pimms. Sainsburys was taunting me this morning when I popped in with a huge display fo 1ltr bottles for £13!!

Earwiggo · 27/06/2011 13:11

Toomuchpizza - do you mind me asking about your gtt, I am being sent for one later on as my bmi is high but it sounds like a long process with 4 blood samples taken at hourly intervals, does that sound right?

toomuchpizza · 27/06/2011 13:29

ThePippy Hope your doppler comes today. It took me a while to find it but I got there in the end. Having a full-ish bladder helps apparently.

Earwiggo I think how the GTT is done varies a bit depending on your hospital/trust. In our area it's just two blood tests. I'm not allowed to eat anything from around midnight and then go to GP for a fasting blood glucose test at 9.15 then drink a sugary drink or lucozade then have to go back at 11.15 for another test. Some places test after one hour but it's always after 2 here. I've also found hospitals vary in how they interpret the results. I've heard of people being given a GD diagnosis with a second result of 7.8+ but here they count 7.8-9.0 as impaired tolerance and anything over 9.0 as GD. Drinking a bottle of lucozade on an empty stomach with morning sickness is not the most fun in the world. If my test this week is ok then I've to have another at 28 weeks.

ThePippy · 27/06/2011 13:52

earwiggo I also have a GTT booked for 28 weeks due to high BMI. My letter says I have to go to hospital for 9am having nothing to eat since 9pm the previous day. They will take blood on arrival then I have to drink 500 ml of glucose drink then relax for a couple of hours (have to sit still as exercise can effect the results it says on the letter) then they take blood at the end for comparison.

sevendwarves · 27/06/2011 20:06

honey if you're on a budget I got a load of long stretchy vest tops in primark for £2 each, should easily fit until around 7 months I reckon and at that price I don't mind stretching them out of shape.
