Wish you hadn't mentioned lucozade, Grin I'm not gonna rest til I get some now!

louby86 · 23/06/2011 12:51

Thanks for all your tips on dealing with morning sickness! I can't believe how many people have posted while I've been having a nap!!!

aj71 · 23/06/2011 13:16

Wow! This is one packed bus!! Hello to all the newbies.

I've been hideously busy this morning getting things ready for our wknd in London. We go tomorrow. I took today off work, rather last minute, and now I'm going for a nap. Though my industriousness means I need to make my bed first. groan

Moofins · 23/06/2011 13:19

Hi All

Wow we're busy! I have been lurking a bit but by the time I've read the updates I've either got to get back to work or DS wants something more important (what could be more important!!) so dont manage to update.

Any way - thanks for reinstating me on the list - I know am being a bit cheeky with my Jan date but i was 10 days late with DS and also by my dates (I was ovulation obsessing!) I'm due around 3rd Feb.

ESME - I've been the same re needing to be by the loo and its causing issues at home as we only have one loo!!! DH has had to stop his 40 min morning loo trips (what do they do....!) plus I've interrupted him on many occasions! sorry TMI for definate! But my stomach seems to have settled down this week - thank god!

Not had any scan date still - have a feeling Kingston Hospital is v busy this time as am sure by this time with DS I'd had my booking appointment.

I am having a very different pregancy this time round - had a very easy time last time with no symptoms at all. This time is very different with sickness, bowel issues, cramps and have bloated up like a balloon. So I recon it must be a girl this time - or as QUEENFEE suggests am having the devil child!!! lol!

Oh and whoever asked - if all goes OK this will be my last child......I think! I dont think our finances could cope with three! We would love a girl but its likely to be a boy which we would obviously be very happy with as well.

We're on holiday next week (sunny Dorset so fingers crossed the rain stays away!) so I hope you all have good weeks and those with sickness feel better soon.

ReadyforRound2 · 23/06/2011 13:34

Just been to 1st Doc's appt, which was better than expected, she filled in some forms, reassured me about my worries, gave me a number for the midwife to arrange a booking-in appt and she took my blood pressure!
The really good news is that my doc said the scans are offered here at 10 weeks now!! Woohoo, only 3 and a half weeks to go!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 23/06/2011 13:38

My friend had dreadful hyperemesis with all 3 of hers and her top tip was to carry a lemon in her bag and whenever she got waves of sickness she would drive her thumbnail into it and inhale the fresh aroma.

babycarmen · 23/06/2011 14:41

So ive still not been sick.. but the nausea is still really bad.... almost unbearable. I was thinking this time it MUST be a boy because of no symptoms with DD at all and now nausea, dizziness (which is settling), tiredness and sore boobs. Im experimenting with food to see what i can eat without almost being sick and so far plain foods like oven chips and pasta are fine.
With my next grocery shop i am getting ginger ale, 7up (craving..), breadsticks (sounds like a good idea!) and hot chocolate.

Hot chocolate and fizzy juice are the only things i fancy drinking and i have almost ran out of hot chocolate powder and have no fizzy juice in the house... great.

And today i am STARVING, anyone else constantly hungry? Today Ive had a slice of toast, 2 bowls of soup and some chips and im still realllly hungry :(

Moan over!

Xavielli · 23/06/2011 14:49

Perhaps, as we are such a large group we should have a separate thread for or stats! This is what us October 10 ladies did, made it easier to follow the chat and meant we could update our stats with revised due dates scan dates and eventually we group ourselves by boy/girl/unknown sex of baby!

My pgs with my sons were identical, just wanted egg on toast and crisps for the first 3 months. With my DD I didn't really go off anything and loved sweets, tbh that's all I remember about being pg with her (apart from the SPD!) as ds1 was so diddy

PamBeesly · 23/06/2011 15:27

Hi All, its busy here! Anyone else have these symptoms or just me: a really bad pain in my upper/middle back, directly behind my boobs, I understand the lower back pain but I don't know about this...maybe because my boobs are heavier now? I'm only 5 weeks but they are so heavy, maybe its a strain. Anyone else?

aj71 · 23/06/2011 15:50

Xavielli That's a good idea to separate out our stats given due dates likely to change when we have our scans anyway.

Im missed off the list too!
aged 32, baby no.3 due 3/2/11.

rnbsmum · 23/06/2011 16:19

Annie - I really feel for you. It is so difficult when you have mixed feelings isn't it? This baby was a bit of a shock - one moment of madness that we assumed would be ok due to our age, difficulties concieving DS 5 years ago etc. We're really broke, had just got to the stage where things were getting easier with kids 7 and 4 and looking forward to not paying child-care and then "bang", all change. I think it's natural to have mixed feelings and be apprehensive, at least it shows you are not burying your head in the sand. We are trying to look at this as an exciting unlooked for bonus and I think as the pregnancy progresses it will get better. It's bound to feel wierd and problems seem bigger when you are keeping it all to yourselves too.

Give yourself time and try not to pre-empt how your new employers may or may not react. I was surprised by the opportunities I got from my employers even when my children were tiny.

AnnieOnAMapleLeaf, HI, i don't know if you remember me? sure we were on late night threads together lol!

I feel for you at the moment and the situation you are in, it can't be easy, i can see why you have mixed feelings. You never know fourth time lucky hey! But in all seriousness, i am sure you will be great at the job but if they get rid of you, more fool them. What are the maternity laws where you are? When do you have to tell them by? It may be worth getting advice from somewhere too, especially when you tell them.

Deffo find out, i don't know what i would do if i were you, if they are going to do it, they will do it as late as possible, especially if they actually like you... And i know you won't do a thing wrong, but make sure you do not put a single toe out of line. So you are a legal assistant, who is it you answer to?

At the end of it all, you will have your child and who you work for will probably be without a great legal assistant, they're loss if you ask me :)

Honestly, you need to find out your rights and make a point of making it known that if you are asked to leave for something make it clear you will show that it is to do with the PG

hermionejgranger · 23/06/2011 19:53

Annie I'm so sorry you are feeling so confused etc - but I have a question - if it really is your dream job, then won't the employers be dream employers too? Do you really want to work for a company who have so little respect that they'd come up with reasons to let you go just because you are pregnant? That may not necessarily be the most helpful suggestion but I think it's worth thinking about... hope you find some clarity soon x

and on a different subject entirely - can anyone please tell me why oh why oh why tesco are now sending me vouchers for tampax?!?!?!? TAMPAX!!!! Every little helps??????

gonerogue · 23/06/2011 19:55

Hey ladies,

My God I am wrecked. First day back after maternity leave and I am wrecked. The two hour commute isn't helping.

I went to bed last night at half five, and only got up at half five this morning to get out to work on time.

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling sick - I have the nausea all day and it's horrendous.Nothing worked for me last time. I am also bloating so much - I need to get me one of those maxi skirts.

Annie sorry to hear you are stressing about your job I hope you get on ok with them.

Hello to everyone else - will catch up again later.

QueenFee · 23/06/2011 20:19

Annie I don't know if this helps but I am about to apply for a paid job through the voluntary work I do. I then discovered I am finally pregnant. It is my perfect job and although I am pleased to be pg I really want this job as long term it will be ideal for me and my family. Anyway I felt really down because I thought if I got the job then they would be arsy with me so I made the decision to tell her before applying. When I told her I was really suprised by her answer. She said that anyone she took on could end up on mat leave or leaving that that was just life and she just wants to employ the person who in the long run is best for the job. I guess what i'm trying to say is they may take it much better than you expect x
Sorry for the ramble.

LittleBoxes · 23/06/2011 20:45

Made a schoolgirl error today when discussing with a couple of workmates where we're going for our payday lunch tomorrow. I suggested, without even thinking, a blinking SUSHI restaurant! They were v. keen and now I'm going to look weird bypassing all the sushi (which I normally love) and going for something else. Talk about dim. Maybe I subconsciously want to tell them...

BillComptonstrousers · 23/06/2011 21:26

I love going to Yo Sushi littleBoxes but I never eat any sushi Blush
I have pumpkin korokke, miso soup, duck gyozo, and spicy noodles EVERY Single time I go!

Unadventurous, moi?

LolaRennt · 23/06/2011 21:29

Try some veggy sushi! The kind made with cucumber or avacado. California rolls are normally veggy

Maltesers88 · 23/06/2011 21:45

Hi everyone,

It's my first time on here so don't know the lingo yet but I'm due 21st Feb with my first so hoping for some moral support and advice along the way!

PDog · 23/06/2011 21:57

Gah! Just typed a long post and lost it - bugger. Sorry but I can't be bothered to start again

Going on hols next week with bro and sil and, thanks to DH Hmm, they know we were ttc. Please will you help me think of an excuse for not drinking? I'm not a big drinker but me not having anything will look very suss.
