aj71, I am still running - plan to for as long as it's comfortable - at the moment am feeling really tired by evening time, which is when I run, but really try and push through it and carry on - if you have trained for and are up to 10k I would try and do it, I think. My problem is my boobs are huge, which is not comfortable for running and I am bursting out of my sports bra!

AlpinePony · 12/06/2011 19:45

Lola I see you're being torn a new arsehole elsewhere and just wanted to say I agree with your very first post. Feelings may be misguided, but they are not wrong. Chin up chick.

rnbsmum · 12/06/2011 19:46

Esme - I have done the rounds in the past trying to find alcohol-free that tastes something like the real thing and from my extensive market research I've concluded that the alcohol free (blue) Becks is is the closest I've come to a decent guilt free beer!!

puzzletree · 12/06/2011 19:52

Ooh thanks for the beer recommendation rnbsmum, will have to get some in when summer finally returns.

aj71 I'd say run if you feel up to it, perhaps at a slower pace? But if you'd feel more comfortable pulling out then definitely do that, your friend will understand.

Hi
Just updated the list with my age and due date! So many due date buddies Shock

I will probably get in contact with the midwives in a couple of weeks whenever I get round to it!
As for symptoms I have a few but probably wouldn't have noticed if this was my 1st. The 3 most obvious being lack of AF, bloating and sore boos/ milk suppy drop. I am still breastfeeding ds2 but am trying to wean him sigh

I love being in the pool when pregnant as it makes you feel so much lighter!

I always said I wanted to have all my children by the time I was 30 so I will just scrape in there as my birthday is not till may.

chocolatesparkle · 12/06/2011 20:59

First midwife appointment tomorrow. I know that its just a fact finding visit, but still excited to be able to tell someone i'm pregnant. These first few weeks seem to be taking for ever, i thought that the first 2 weeks waiting for BFP seemed long, but now waiting 12 weeks for 1st scan seems like a lifetime.

EsmeWeatherwax · 12/06/2011 21:46

Queenfee how old is ds2 if you don't mind me asking? I am still breastfeeding dd2, who has just turned two, and don't even know where to start trying to wean her...she's a complete boob monster!

mistressploppy · 12/06/2011 22:16

Hello, PreScanName here - just popping in to say I'm waaay too incompetent to manage namechanging between two names, so can I revert to this one, my regular name, please?

I have already accidentally outed myself to my MN friends by cocking up which name I was under Blush

I'll be making a midwife appt tomorrow, I suppose. Funny how you forget the whole procedure so quickly!

QueenFee · 12/06/2011 22:22

Ds2 will be 2 in July.
He does seem frustrated at the moment as I think my supply has dipped.
I have been trying to wean him and he does seem to be getting more used to the idea. I have given him a special teddy at night and distract till he forgets in the day.

m1nn1em0u5e · 12/06/2011 22:44

Hi everyone & welcome to all the new ladies!....Well im back to the GP tomorrow, think hyperemesis has started, (had it in my previous 2 pregnancies) cant keep anything except sips of water down, have spent most of the evening in the bathroom vomiting & crying :( xx

mistressploppy · 12/06/2011 22:58

Oh Minnie Sad, I hope things improve.

LolaRennt · 13/06/2011 02:21

minniemouse, that's awful. I hope it passes soon, how long did you have it with your previous pregnancies? Try and remeber it will pass and you will have a snuggly little ball of squish soon. (very twee and unmumsnetty but they really are snuggly little balls of squish Grin)

AlpinePony · 13/06/2011 05:44

Minnie - if it's any consolation I expect to be joining you, I was still puking the day I gave birth and it was the same for my mum. :( I have some pills left over from last time but expect it won't be long before I'm up at the doctor's begging for more. I'm in two minds about the pregnancy, I want this child so much, but knowing what I now know, I know that until I give birth I'm going to have a crap time.

harrietlichman · 13/06/2011 06:30

Have you seen your gp/midwives already? I haven't been yet - afraid of jinxing things I think, but I know I need to get on with it...

AlpinePony · 13/06/2011 06:36

harriet I'm going on holiday next weekend so will contact my midwife when I'm back (6.5 weeks). I'm not sure how it'll be handled as I live in a country where midwife-led homebirth is standard and last time I was emcs. So I really don't know whether I'm going to be consultant-led at the hospital, or do all my regular check-ups with my midwives and simply transfer to hospital for the elcs. Confused Tbh I don't care either way, I know some people don't like being consultant-led - but the one thing I learned during my last pregnanct was that a healthy baby trumps everything. :)

harrietlichman · 13/06/2011 08:30

Same here Alpine - I have had two cs so will almost definately have one again this time - the procedure here was for the regular ante-natal checks to be done with the midwife and then a couple of extra consultant appointments through the pregnancy.

LankyLegs · 13/06/2011 08:53

Hello all and esp to all those who have found out over the weekend!

Sorry to all those that are feeling really sick. Its crap either way as I am sat here with next to no symptoms and worrying my arse off! Hey ho - we will never be pleased will we?

Interesting chat about the alcohol free drinks - didn't even cross my mind yet, but too have heard that becks blue is the closest tasting beer.

Just updating list with new date and age as everyone seems to be adding that on!

Middledaughter · 13/06/2011 09:44

Hi everyone,

please can I join too. I'm due 5th Feb with my second (my son will be 1 at the end of this month) so about 6 weeks I think. Had been feeling fine up until this morning but so sick when I got up so I'm hoping that's a one off and not a sign of things to come.

I know its a bit early in the day for beer recommendations but the Tesco alco free beer called 'Bavaria' is much nicer than Becks blue in my limited experience....!

m1nn1em0u5e · 13/06/2011 09:45

Thanks Lolarennt, I had it until about 20 weeks, with the ocassional vomit up until I gave birth, was tolerable after 20 weeks though, I couldnt even keep water down in the night, off to the GP this morning, however he wouldnt prescribe any meds for the sickness in my previous 2 pregnancies. I keep trying to imagine cuddling my new baby & thinking he/she will be worth it all.

Alpinepony, I really sympathise, its taken me 4 years each time to pluck up the courage to have another baby due to the HG, this is definitely our last baby!

EsmeWeatherwax · 13/06/2011 10:12

Morning all. Sickness is starting to kick in here too, bloody miserable feeling. I'm shattered this morning too, nightmares all night last night for some reason, horrible!

harriet I've seen the gp/midwife already, mostly because I was taking some medication and wasn't sure if I could keep it on. I've also had two cs's was pretty much told I'd be having another, which is fine by me!

harrietlichman · 13/06/2011 10:21

morning all -welcome middledaughter! I have plucked up my courage and booked my gp appointment....I am nervous because of previous experience - gp told me 'a lot of pregnancies don't make it, you know' which was not exactly what I wanted to hear. I am going now though (at 6 weeks) for same reasons as you, esme, and also because am on holiday in two weeks and finishing term (am teacher) next week so will be really busy. Wish me luck!

puzzletree · 13/06/2011 11:18

Morning! Feeling properly green for the first time today. Chewing gum and trying to keep distracted and busy. Sorry to those with hyperemesis, I can only imagine how awful that must be. I only get the usual nausea for a few months and that's bad enough. Hope you have sympathetic gps and family to make sure you get through it ok. Feel free to offload here too.

QueenFee · 13/06/2011 12:01

I am also feeling green this morning :(
The only thing that helps me in my pregnancies is eating little and often.
I am also feeling really tired. I remember with ds2s pg for the 1st 4months ir so I was in bed every night by 7, and fitting naps in whenever I can.
Ds2 starts playgroup in jan which will be a welcome relief just before bubs is due.

phlossie · 13/06/2011 12:04

I second puzzletree - I had sickness from weeks 6 until about 13. Have just realised that I'm going to be spending a night on a ferry at 11 weeks. Bleurgh!

I told my boss today! She was lovely - I knew she would be, but I was very nervous. It must be a headache for employers, and she's going to have to find cover for me.

I'm still only 4 1/2 weeks pregs! 12 weeks seems like ages away....

mistressploppy · 13/06/2011 12:43

Hi everyone.

Lanky, I sympathise - no symptoms here either. But then I had very little with my first one.

Just phoned to make an appt with the madwife midwife (our local one is a bit eccentric! But lovely)
