Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Oh and welcome to Bighotmama and congratulations!!

GiraffeAHolic · 01/06/2011 22:32

Evening girls. Didnt realise how long it was since I posted until the thread disappeared off my 'threads I'm on'!

My heart goes out to all those with bleeding and anxieties, wishing you all the best.

Welcome to all the newbies, January is going to be one busy month :)

Nausea and vomiting/retching still very much in presence. I was thinking just today that if someone was to go through my handbag, then my secret would be out.

  • bottle of water
  • tictacs and softmints
  • box of rennie
  • seasickness bands (although I'm wearing them pretty much 24/7)
  • hospital letter
  • wee bottle (I'm not mad, just less likely for Dd to get her hands on it)
  • random Ginger nuts and wholemeal crackers/tuc biccys

shonnomanom wow, that's really cheap! Thanks. Smile I didn't want to spend a lot on a swimsuit I was only going to use for a few months as this is going to be our last DC.

Mum2be79 yeah, I remember reading somewhere during my last pregnancy that we were supposed to lie on our left hand side when we were pregnant. If I remember, I think it was supposed to be about blood flow??? Is that right?

BigHotMama welcome and congratulations! Glad to have you with us Smile. There should be a list further up the page if you'd like to add yourself and your details to it?

Mama5isalive · 02/06/2011 11:13

lol postman must of heard me just got my scan date - fri 17th June @10.40am Grin

tummytickler · 02/06/2011 11:17

Morning all.
I have just returned from my scan.
Good news is there was a sack, foetal pole and a heartbeat! Hoorah!
The bad news was it was low down in my uterus, and there is a large pool of blood in front of it. This means that either it is on its way out, and i will have a miscarriage, even though it looks healthy now, or I will loose the blood and the foetus has just implanted itself low down.
I will have to go back for a scan next Friday to see what is going on then.
It occurred to me on the way home that if the foetus has implanted low down could that then lead to placenta praveia? Surely the placenta would also form low down in the uterus?

Hope you are all having a good day and not to sick!

supadupapupascupa · 02/06/2011 13:47

mama5isalive i just put a note on the other thread to see if they want to come over to this one, hope so, more the merrier Grin

I feel crap today!! meant to be napping right now whilst toddler is asleep, but i got side-tracked on here. Feel really sick. Am definitely feeling my stomach at the mo also, really early and unexpected, but don't like pressure on it at all.

supadupapupascupa · 02/06/2011 13:48

fingers crossed tummytickler, good news Grin

ghosteditor · 02/06/2011 14:07

fx for you tummytickler - it sounds promising at least.

I'm having a bit of a crappy week this week. DH has been away for ages and I still don't get to see him for another two weeks, and I'm crazy busy with plans I made ages ago but am too tired really to enjoy anything. I'm also feeling very nauseated most of the time (except first thing in the morning, for which hurrah! not a morning person normally so that would be the last straw!) which is exhausting in itself.

Plus, people keep arranging meetings in the week when I'm expecting to book my scan (not that I'd now as I haven't seen the MW yet) and I feel like I can't say no, but may not be able to make it. Plus my boss has booked my annual appraisal a week before I will want to announce my news, which is a bit inconvenient, but maybe it's best to keep the two separate.

Whinge, whinge...

Moobee · 02/06/2011 15:30

Hello! I was on the thread on the pregnancy forums. Thanks to supadupapupascupa for leading me to this thread.

I'm 8 weeks 4 days today (so est. due date of 8th Jan). I'd felt a little nausea up until about 8 weeks when full on sickness and nausea started. I was beginning to feel smug that I'd avoided that symptom - oh well! Luckily I told my boss at 4 weeks as I wanted to give as much notice as possible and there could be possibility of coming into contact with harmful things so it was just easier.

I'm very pleased to join you all here!

d0gFace · 02/06/2011 16:37

Welcome Moobee,

Ive also got awful nausea, cant wait till it goes. :)

knittiekitty · 02/06/2011 16:53

Positive news tumtickler - I hope you're feeling a bit more reassured, have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Poor Ghosteditor - can you block book some 'private' appointments in your calendar to put other people off a bit? It happens to me too and I try and book an hour in the middle of the morning or afternoon so they'll be put off and try another day instead.

I saw my mw today and realised I'd counted the weeks wrong and was being a bit previous. I'm 9 weeks instead of 10! What a muppet and presumably means nausea might linger even longer. I've combated it this afternoon by lodging on the sofa in front of a Hitchcock film I've been meaning to watch. I even got 4 maltesers down without incident!

Big hello to new ladies! Mum2be79 - I saw a sleep bra in mothercare that looked soft and supportive - might be worth investigating?

greenlady78 · 02/06/2011 16:59

Thank you ladies for all the positive energy and prayers!

My thoughts go to Dizzykipper, take care and rest! I truly believe we are stronger than we ever imagine x

I will keep you guys posted. It is great to log in every day and see how everyone is doing!

Wishing everyone much happiness, good food, rest and sunshine :)

Big hugs!

xkatyx · 02/06/2011 17:35

Tummytickler I had that in my last pregnancy bleed round the baby and I also have it with the twins! It usually means u may have small bleeds that's all. I think the only time u worry is if it's a large bleed around baby.

Anyway I have been told it's fine, hope that reassures you a bit

X

Mama5isalive · 02/06/2011 20:58

welcome moobee- yeh its a rough 1st tri with sore boobs, sickness, feeling tired, avoiding telling people, emotions and the rest, but not to far until its passed and we can enjoy the 2nd stage - and look forwards to our scans!!!!!!!!!
i have been having a spot breakout my face looks awful ,i feel awful, it would be good if i could sleep the next few months away!!!!!!!
Tummytickler - i hope all goes well at the scan, hopefully they will keep a close eye on you and give you some reassurance that all will be well.

Browncoats · 02/06/2011 21:07

to Trubble, sorry I didn't realise I'd missed you from my "welcome" earlier - apologies Blush

Welcome to Moobee too!

tummytickler A friend of mine had placenta pravia (sp?) and she now has a healthy DD. I also had some bleeding found in my scan but the MW said that she'd seen women go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies with 3 times as much bleeding as me so FX for us both eh? I've got another scan booked in for next week too so I'm glad they're keeping an extra eye on us Smile

blueeyedmonster · 02/06/2011 21:27

Welcome moobee and congrats.

Hope the next scan is just as positive tummytickler

I had bleeding with ds, small bleeds mostly (some very small bleeds) but one rather big one which I was hospitalised overnight for. They never did find out why or where it was coming from but ds is 3 now! On an afterthougt when i'd had him it was almost 4 weekly!!

We told my mum and dad yesterday and they are both over the moon. Telling dp's parents on sat as they are on holiday. I know what his dad will be like (last time he asked us if it was planned, we'd been together 8 years by that point!) butbhis mum will be happy.

I still have very sore boobs and exhaustion.

Curlygirl72 · 02/06/2011 22:50

Isn't it interesting how we're all having such varied experiences, both of pg itself and also mws and appts. I saw my gp and she just said to expect a letter from the mw with a scan appt for about 10-12 weeks in, that was a week ago and still no letter... really want to make plans and book the day off work!! Also may well be on honeymoon for the appt time so want to make sure I can rearrange at my convenience...
So I think I'm lucky not to have had any nausea (touching wood now), just more and more tired and the odd little dizzy spell when I stand up quickly. And just a general achy feeling in the general area with occasional cramps, quite nice to be constantly aware that there's something in there!
So it's all a bit weird at the moment, nothing definite really happening and just waiting to have my appt and be able to tell people. Although I've told quite a few close friends already! Not very good at keeping secrets... esp such exciting ones.

Jellyboobs · 03/06/2011 00:53

Hello everyone,

Mind if I join in? My edd is 29th January, first pg, very weird, scary, exciting! I've told a few people now, but am stopping until next week. Had an abnormal smear result just before I found out I was pregnant and I have the hospital appointment to check it out on Thursday, pretty nervous. My GP says they will delay treatment until the baby is three months old, as it's very unlikely to develop into CC but still putting off thinking a lot about it.
So sorry to hear about people's mc's, you are all so brave, it must be a horrible time. Glad to hear you're still going strong though, excellent ladies!

Drinking lime & soda in the pub tonight has given me bad belly, so will have to try no-alc beers for a change!
Good luck to everyone in this wonderful club!

Xxx

Spagbolagain · 03/06/2011 06:58

Morning everybody, welcome to the new folks!
Hope you are feeling well. I have been up since 6 thanks to DS. Think he is a bit hot and sticky. Feeling a bit sick this morning.
Had a stressful day at work yesterday, seem to be getting a lot of stuff dumped on me with no notice and struggling to fit it all in. I have to pick up DS, so working long hours isn't an option, but it seems saying no isn't either. Trying very hard to not get too stressed about it, but on top of sickness and tiredness it's hard. I also have to take a week off soon as DS is having an operation, so it's not like I have any choice, but they just keep giving me more stuff. Aaaargh, moan over.

Other than that all is ok. Day off today :)
jelly Becks Blue is your friend, yummy!

not feeling sick today, odd! now i'm willing it to come back to let me know it is all ok Hmm

Browncoats · 03/06/2011 09:13

Well DS gave me a long lie this morning!! Until 8.30 Grin. It's been so long since he's slept that long that I actually woke up before him and had to go in and check on him Blush

It's a gorgeous sunny day in Glasgow so I'm having a good morning! It's been a bit wet up here for a couple of weeks now so seeing the summer weather coming in again makes me smile.

I'm sickening myself with my bright and breezy attitude now so I'll be off. I hope everyone's day goes well

shonnomanom · 03/06/2011 09:29

Happy Sunny Morning Ladies!!

Welcome and congrats to all the newbies!
Spag I hope things calm down at work for you. Can you not delegate others to take on some of the extra work?

tummytickler that sounds positive, hope the next scan is just as good x

This lovely hot weather has made me realise how lucky we are to be having winter babies. Dd was born in May 08 and it was ROASTING. I used to go for walks around the supermarkets just to keep cool! Spent a small fortune in those last few weeks Blush

Remeber a few weeks ago we were all saying how the 12week scans were going to drag in? We get them this month!!!! Its coming soo quickly! Grin So excited Grin

shonnomanom · 03/06/2011 09:31
