Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Morning everyone,

Sorry browncoats but I did have to laugh at that. I do that sort of thing even when i'm not pregnant Blush

The novelty of morning sickness is seriously wearing off, I can not keep anything down until at least mid morning. Oh and it looks like SPD is raring it's ugly head already.

Four weeks today until 12 week scan Grin Grin

ghosteditor · 27/05/2011 10:21

browncoats that's hilarious but must have been so stressful at the time! Here in my part of Oxfordshire we're allowed to see the MW from 8+ weeks but I haven't been given any information or been asked to bring anything. The appointment is right in the middle of my working day, too (appt is in two weeks). That could just be the evil GP receptionist withholding information, though - but that's another thread.

At the moment I feel very spaced out and continually knackered. I'm trying to keep up with my usual commitments but feel like it's all a bit much at the moment - I haven't spent more than a couple of waking hours at home since Monday and that will continue until the bank holiday. I just want to sleeeeep! I had a very long work day on Wednesday and in the middle of the afternoon had an hour free, during which I ate a piece of cake and tried desperately not to fall asleep on the table in the cafe! It wasn't pretty...

supadupapupascupa · 27/05/2011 10:25

shall we add the 12 week scan dates to our list?

made a start on the maternity wardrobe. Been buying some basics from ebay and have a couple of patterns to make some tunic type tops. Looking forward to buying the fabric and giving it a go. I refuse to spend a fortune this time around, and as i'm not working i think a few tunics with leggings should see me through as long as I don't have any celebrations that require dressing up!

DizzyKipper · 27/05/2011 11:28

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining in? Just found out I'm preg on Wedsneday, it's my first time and I'm about 4 weeks. Seem to be getting a bit of nausea already, not full blown morning sickness though, hoping this is a good sign. In a weird way I feel relieved when I can feel my symptoms (cramp and nausea mainly) - reassures me that it's not in my head and I am in fact pregnant.

I know it's early but me and OH are going baby clothes shopping tomorrow - we're not going crazy, just getting a few little bits to tide us over until we can go really baby clothes shopping crazy Wink

supadupapupascupa · 27/05/2011 11:35

Hi dizzy and congratulations!

You are mental! Clothes shopping already????? Grin

I bought my pram at 8 weeks with ds1 Grin!

ghosteditor · 27/05/2011 11:47

welcome to the list diz !

Have fun with the clothes shopping! Earlier this week I saw the cutest pair of baby slippers with a little owl on (I have an owl thing) and almost caved, but they were £20, which is ridiculous, and I'm only at 6+ weeks.

Not sure when we'll start buying baby stuff; possibly if I have a bout of nesting I might give in but I'll probably wait until I'm pretty far along. But since I'll be 8 months along in December and I loathe shopping in December I think it will have to be before then! Realistically I just want to get through the first scan, though, before I start thinking about anything else.

fishandlilacs · 27/05/2011 11:49

hello ladies and slightly emerging bumps.

Cor it takes siome time to catch up on this thread now.

I was laughing at your nappy brain moment there browncoats so sorry, it must have been awful at the time but glad it worked out in the end.

Sickness seems to be getting worse, sore boobage is getting worse. Waking at fricking 5am every damn morning is doing my swede.

On the up side i have picked up some work for a bit-just some freelance tutoring but it's all a bonus.

Spagbolagain · 27/05/2011 12:00

Oh dear browncoats what a nightmare. I hope you realise it will probably get worse? :)

Welcome dizzy congratulations on your bfp. If I was you I wouldn't buy everything too early. Simply because when you are huge and miserable at 8 months, shopping is one of the few pleasures left, and reminds you what you are looking forward to :o

Going for a dating scan tomorrow, feeling a bit nervous, we don't have a good history with scans, have mostly been unpleasant and worrying occasions. But hopefully will put our minds at rest at least till the next one.
Had an interesting week, have been away with work. A few colleagues looking suspicious that I wasn't sharing the wine, but at least people are too polite to ask outright.......am now home and very knackered, contemplating an afternoon nap when DS goes down

Mummaroo · 27/05/2011 12:50

Today I am convinced I am not pregnant and I have no right to be on here, it's all just a big [and late] April Fool's!!

Hope everyone is doing ok, Browncoats that's brilliant, bless you, you must have been so stressed out, at least the bags were there!!

DizzyKipper · 27/05/2011 13:20

hehe, you think that's crazy before we'd even started ttc I got OH to come mothercare window shopping with me lol Couldn't wait. And good words of wisdom Spagbolagain, will try to remember to pace myself - we're leaving the gender as a surprise so will probably wants to buy lots more as soon as we find out anyway. Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow, how many weeks are you?

Spagbolagain · 27/05/2011 13:26

I think I am nearly 9 weeks, maybe a bit less as I have a longish cycle.

Ah there's nothing wrong with a bit of window shopping. Have to confess I have been looking at double buggies and pondering whether they will fit in my boot. And then wondering if in fact I can just make DS walk since he will be 2 by then :o

Capybara · 27/05/2011 13:32

Fishandllilacs, I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one sleeping badly! What is it with the waking up in the middle of the night? Up at 4.45, 6.15 and then 7.15 this morning (!)

tummytickler · 27/05/2011 14:49

Dizzy - you are mental shopping now Grin imagine how much stuff you will have by the time dc is born!
Saying that, I bought one pair of trousers yesterday. Just one pair, just to have something small and cute to remind me I am pregnant.
I think I am going to leave it as long as poss before shopping, but I do want to get things gradually, to spread the costs. We use cloth nappies, but as ds is nearly 4 we got rid of our stash over a year ago, so need to buy loads more.I love nappy shopping, so will buy 4 or 5 a month after 20 week scan.
Although, same as spagbol I have done a LOT of window shopping, mostly buggies and nappies online!
Fishandlilacs and capybara I have been sleeping really badly too, I am sure this is adding to my irratability! I seem to be able to go for long stretches without a wee during the day, but up 3 or 4 times over night.

shonnomanom · 27/05/2011 16:51

fish Congrats on getting some work
dizzy Hello, welcome and congrats. Pace your self with the shopping, remember we'v still got a few end of season sales to go through before these bundles of joy arrive. And also you will got LOADS of clothes as gifts when baby is born.
Saying that, I found a gorgeous multi coloured striped blanket online and bought one for my niece/nephew arriving this August. Decided that this baby would like one too Smile

We wont actually need to get a lot of gear for this baby. We were careful when buying first time round that everything was in unisex colours so we could use again.
However we do have a lot of work to do in the house before baby comes as we're planning on selling next summer.

Plan for the end of year madness is to start collecting bits for baby and Christmas and surrounding birthdays(we have lots in Dec/Jan) once we'v had the 20 weeks scan. Spread out the cost abit. Oh and we'v already booked her seats for Christmas dinner at my mums Grin

Browncoats · 27/05/2011 19:03

tummytickler I'm tearful all the time now!!! I don't usually cry at anything either. I've seen DP and I watching a sad movie and he's almost got tears in my eyes and I'm absolutely fine. Just call me Margaret Thatcher Grin. When I'm pregnant it's a whole different story though. I had tears in my eyes at So You Think You Can Dance last Saturday night ffs!

supadupapupascupa wow! You make your own clothes??? I'm seriously impressed, honestly! Even when I sew on a button it hardly ever stays on.

Spagbolagain good luck with your dating scan tomorrow, I'm sure it'll go well.

I'm really not sleeping well either at the moment, even when DS doesn't wake us in the middle of the night I still need to get up a couple of times. Glad to hear it's not just me.

shonnomanom · 27/05/2011 19:26

that should be our not her whoops

xkatyx · 27/05/2011 19:47

Hello everyone, had private scan today to see of twins have a joining sac and she thinks they do woooo.

So far so good, both Seam to be growing well Smile

Sleeping is terrible for me to at the moment keep waking up and staying awake for hours and then I have no energy all day.

Mummaroo · 27/05/2011 19:53

katy that's brilliant news, maybe that will put your mind at rest a bit and help you to relax and sleep now!!

Good to know I'm not alone in feeling completely knackered but not being able to sleep!!

xkatyx · 27/05/2011 20:09

Sleeping is a nightmare in first trimester and it kicks in again third trimester too insomnia is a nightmare!

I feel so tired now but just can't sleep

blueeyedmonster · 27/05/2011 20:16

Hi to all the newcomers!

xkatyx thats brilliants news!!

I've been mental shopping for the past week, keep looking at pushchairs and nappies.

I pretty much know what pushchair I want now (as long as I like it irl) and there are so many litlte nappies I want too.

We probably won't start buying anything until at least after the 12 week scan. Probably just after the 20 week though as we hope to find out the sex.

xkatyx · 27/05/2011 20:25

Oooooo love pushchair shopping I can highly recommend the icandy, it's brillaint in every way. I love the one coming out it's so lovely but I'm going to have to look at awful double buggies boo hoo.

tummytickler · 27/05/2011 20:28

katy great news - you must be so relieved!

I want an icandy. Dh says they are a waste on money, and even second hand on ebay doesn't want to know. He wants a loola, but they look a bit rickity!
I will, of course, get my own way eventually!

blueeyedmonster what nappies have you been looking at? I loved Swaddlebees and Weenotions with other dc.

Just copy and paste and add in full details for those that are missing. Apologies if I've missed some!

blueeyedmonster · 27/05/2011 20:40

I love the look of the i candy but I know that dp wouldn't go for it....he's a pain in the arse about pushchairs. I'll bargain him down though and get what I want in the end Grin

tummytickler i'm looking at swaddlebees, oh woah when, puddlekins and hopefully luscious little somethings when her mat leave is finished. Maybe some Weenotions and easyfits too. I never clothed from the beginning with ds (wanted to but cash was a problem). Can't wait to do it from the start this time!
