Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Tanif · 25/05/2011 16:55

deesus 'gipped'... are you from the north east, per chance?

xkatyx · 25/05/2011 18:17

Hello everyone, I had my scan yesterday ... I'm in shock it's twins!!!! Omg

tummytickler · 25/05/2011 18:38

xkatyx - wow! Thats great news! Have you got the first set of twins on this thread then?

I am feeling rubbish today - tired and really irritable. Really grumpy. My 3 year old ds has behaved horribly all day - deliberately doing the exact opposite of everything I ask him to do or not do. I cannot wait for bed time, it has been a real struggle.

Hoep you are all well today - will catch up properly later once my devil children are in bed Grin

SlightlyScrambled · 25/05/2011 18:46

Wow Katy, that's amazing news. I'd say the shock will take a while to wear off. Congratulations!

Mum2be79 · 25/05/2011 19:10

Wow twins! I'm due 6th January and think I'm still a few weeks off my first scan. I'll be 8 weeks on Friday.

I was INCREDIBLY hormonal today. I teach Y1 and every time I wanted to speak, they would strike up a conversation or mess about. It got me steaming so much that when I did let rip at a child who had been told three times to be quiet, a pain rippled through my tummy. I chilled out after as it startled me a bit. I realised that I work in a stressful job and must try not to let the little things get to me so much. So tonight, constant knicker checking. I do feel a bit warm and damp, so that's not helping. (Sorry!) I think my hormones peak every 2/3 days.

lily06 · 25/05/2011 19:50

Evening ladies,

Reassuring to hear that other people are feeling a bit chilly. I've had the winter blanket on top of the duvet the last few nights, DH thinks I'm mad! I find the cold makes my breasts even more sensitive and they're pretty painful anyway at the moment.

Suffering from a bit of indigestion, but no sickness so far.

xkatyx exciting news about your twins - do they run in your family?

shonnomanom · 25/05/2011 19:53

Wow katy twins! congrats! Could they tell yet if they are identical or fraternal? Your due date will probably change to December now wont it? They usually bring twins forward as it becomes a squish & a squeeze in the last few weeks.

Sorry to hear some of you have been having a rotten day. For the first time in I dont know how long dd actually behaved herself on a Wednesday. Which has been a huge help.

So incredibly thirsty tonight. Think I might just sit under the tap for a while...

blueeyedmonster · 25/05/2011 20:13

Wow congrats xkatyx

Glad your scan went well today browncoats

tummy you have just described my last week with my 3yo too!!!

I had horrible nausea all morning again so I got some of those sickness bands todat and voila i've been fine.........hurrah. I didn't feel so bad at work this afternoon that it took me longer than normal to work!

Still tired though but I can cope with that without the nausea (and dizzyness that arrives at work).

xkatyx · 25/05/2011 20:18

They are identical and share placenta and sac (mono twins) unfortunetly they don't have a great survival rate.

But it's not 100% yet as they could see another sac further in fingers crossed.

I don't know of any twins in family, I nearly fell off the bed when she told me. Was such a shock now I'm just filled with worry.

Nanny01 · 25/05/2011 21:54

Note to self gaviscon strawberry tablets make me sick like all the other gaviscon products, back to the fruit flavour tums.

mummyzoe2012 · 25/05/2011 22:16

hiya all, is there room for one more, we found out on the 18th and had our booking in app today. if my working is correct ill be due around the 25th.
we were trying comming up 5 years and were going to be getting ivf in september if it had not happend. ive got bad boob pains and feel sick 24/7 but all worth it! X

Broodyandnew2this · 25/05/2011 22:32

Hi mummyzoe2012 there is always room for one more - Congratulations!

I had my booking appointment today too - well done you for getting an early one, my EDD is on the 1st ...(poor baby) so maybe my surgery is just a bit slow of the mark.

Hey has anyone else run out of trousers which they can still breath in? Im 8+6 so thinking maybe its just the need to eat carbs all the time to keep the nausea at bay, but when are you meant to crack open the maternity clothes??

greenlady78 · 25/05/2011 22:49

Hello there girls...I just found out 2 days ago (going to gp tomorrow) and still feels surreal! I am due 25th Jan according to online calculators :) good luck to us allxxx

blueeyedmonster · 26/05/2011 07:27

Congrats mummy and green

I'm going to get maternity clothes when I need it which will be before 12 weeks I am sure!!!

fishandlilacs · 26/05/2011 08:16

Wow Katy I would shit meself if they told me that next week-can barely cope with one! Seriously though, well done and congratulations, I hope all is well xx

Welcome newbies-theres so many of us on here now this thread takes some catching up on if you have not been about for a few days.

ses how are you doing? I have been thinking of you, I dont know if your even still on this thread anymore but just know your in my thoughts xx

I'm going to need maternity clothes very very soon methinks. I already look about 6 months but then i am a fatty anyway so it was to be expected. Not going to be able to hide this pregnancy from any prospective employers in the near future. Oh Hum, I think I better resign myself to a very very skint SAHM for the time being.

Deesus · 26/05/2011 09:06

Tanif Haha....no, but I've lived in the NE for the past 6 years. Married a local and am now worryingly starting to sound like one too. Shock

Congrats mummy and green!

And Katy twins! Double congrats for you x

Browncoats · 26/05/2011 09:12

Katy Wow!!!! Twins!!! I'm not suprised you almost fell off the table with shock. Congratulations! I've got to say, I was almost convinced I had twins this time too as I'm so big already but it turns out I'm just fat!! Grin

mummyzoe2012 and greenlady78 Congratulations and welcome to the thread, we seem to be a chatty lot here!

ghosteditor · 26/05/2011 09:29

congrats mummy and green and welcome to the list - we're getting busy already! I guess if you two have late January due dates already then we won't have many more people who can join this list, so, welcome!

katy omg that's awesome congratulations! Try not to worry too much. Mono twins occur randomly so it's not surprising that there's no family history (I think anyway). One of my grandparents was a conjoined twin and another of my grandparents was also a twin, but I don't know if she was mono- or dizygotic, so am not sure how much chance we have. In a way, I'd love twins, but gosh, what a shock it must be when you first find out!

xkatyx · 26/05/2011 09:36

it was such a shock lol any the funny thing was that day it was soooo busy and we couldnt get parking so i told dh i would meet him up stairs as it usualy takes about a hour to get seen in EPU, Typical i got seen straight away ON MY OWN lol.

I asked the sonographer to get my husband and we both just couldnt stop laughing.

im so worried about the babies, so unfair. im hoping they have a secret sac.

congratulations to all the new comers. also dont worry to much about no symptoms i have hardly any infact apart from lack of period i would never of known and im having twins and they both seam healthy so far with 2 little heartbeats.

GiraffeAHolic · 26/05/2011 11:35

Wow double congratulations xkatyx. We have joked about twins due to the size of my 8 week bump but I can't imagine actually finding put for real. I hope everything goes well for you and wow are you going to have your hands full Grin

Is anyone else suffering from really bad headaches? I am getting one every evening and woke up with one this morning that still hasn't cleared :( I'm trying really hard not to take any painkillers but the pounding is really bad.

xkatyx · 26/05/2011 11:46

Lol we also joked about it too. Ha ha

Headaches? YES I thought my head was going to explode last night it kept wakin me up. Awful they are one of the symptoms I'm afraid .. I'm trying to just rest today and drink lots of water that should help.

ghosteditor · 26/05/2011 12:11

provides Brew and sympathy for the headaches. I normally suffer from cluster headaches though they haven't been as bad in the last couple of years but I have been amazingly headache free of late, which is a real joy.

My headaches are definitely made worse by bad posture and tension in my neck and back. You're not holding yourselves any differently by any chance? I guess any weight gain could start to change posture too? One thing that really works for me is to lie down with my neck supported just off the floor with a rolled up towel, and just let my head relax back. If you can find any sore muscles in your neck or around your head (sort of poke behind and above your ears to find this) then the towel method may help a bit. Of course it might be a totally different reason, just offering the only solution I know. Ibruprofen is off the cards during pg but paracetamol is supposed to be ok.

Capybara · 26/05/2011 12:45

Hi everyone - just got results of HCG test (done on Tuesday, i.e. two days ago) and was wondering whether anyone else had had one yet, and if so, what their numbers were? I'm six weeks today (I think? Might be closer to 5 +4) and I'm at 26 000, which is apparently squarely within the 4-6 weeks range.

GiraffeAHolic · 26/05/2011 12:51

Thanks for the Brew, shame I can't stomach tea anymore :)

I used to suffer with migraine and these are really starting to compete, I'm taking dd swimming in a while so either that will help or my head will finally explode! On the plus side we go to a private pool with just my aunty so don't have to worry too much about the very obvious stomach in my cossie :)

Oh God don't say that xkatyx were you showing early??

I've haven't had any HCG results Capybara are they done in the initial midwife bloods?

xkatyx · 26/05/2011 12:59

I'm only 6 and a half weeks I'm not showing as such just feel like I'm really day and uncomfy I really feel like I have put in a good few pounds but then again I have been sooooo hungry which I didn't have In my other pregnancies.

I had my HCG levels done at 3 weeks and every 48 hours and they were 164,219,380

They told me to expect to mc then 2 scans later hello twins lol so to me hcg levels are rubbish!
