Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

hey ladies - I've put on 4lbs so far, so I sympathise. I really don't feel like I'm eating any differently and I'm exercising more or less the same as normal, so I'm a bit confused. I think I may just have to stop weighing myself and get on with it, after all there's nothing I can do except eat sensibly and keep moving.

however not a single pair of my work trousers fits well enough that I can sit down in them!

Browncoats · 16/05/2011 09:45

Thank god it's not just me whose trousers won't do up. Mine have always been loose so I've always had to wear a belt and I don't any more - already??? I'm only 7 weeks!!! Exactly how big am I going to be this time Grin

I'm not weighing myself any more either, I've just decided to go with it too ghosteditor and eat healthily.

ShimmeryPixie · 16/05/2011 10:15

I'm very worried today. Since my BFP I have been having increased discharge, which has a brownish tinge today (previously white/yellow). Does this mean I'm bleeding? :( I still have massively sore boobs, and am horrendously tired (I came home from a pilates class yesterday and had to have a sit down for half an hour).

ghosteditor · 16/05/2011 10:30

shimmery that sounds normal from what I've heard - in fact I had some bleeding over the weekend but it calmed down really quickly and seems fine now. Brownish tinge probably means that a bit of old blood is leaving your system - not something that you should be too worried about, but worth keeping an eye on in case it gets heavier or turns red (which is 'new' blood).

You're just over six weeks, right? It could still be implantation, or a number of other normal things. I'm not a medic though so am just repeating anecdotal MN wisdom. Do keep an eye on it, and mention it when you see the GP/midwife.

d0gFace · 16/05/2011 11:32

Morning all and congrats to all the new BFP's.

Im also having trouser issues, my tummy is really bloated atm. Im not eating anymore then normal, so it must be just gas and water?

I did some washing up last night and started retching, didnt vom which was a bonus. Has anyone else been having really weird dreams?

ShimmeryPixie · 16/05/2011 12:25

Thanks ghosteditor, I'll talk to the midwife tomorrow. It's definitely brownish, not red, and very very light, so I will try not to worry for now.

shonnomanom · 16/05/2011 14:12

Afternoon ladies!
Saw the MW this morning. We reckon im 7.1weeks. So EDD still stands at 01.01.11 (for the time being). And my scan should be in 5 weeks time. So excited, although it will probably drag in im sure.
She asked if Im planning on either a water birth or home birth. I told her that I was planning neither but given the time of year we might not have a choice about the homebirth Smile We couldnt get the car out the street for over 2 weeks last winter.

I totally agree, we just need to make sure we are eating carefully and keep active and hopefully wont put on too much weight. FX

ghosteditor · 16/05/2011 15:53

hi all,

I just called the GP to make an appointment and they're not interested in seeing me until 8 weeks, so I have an appointment booked for mid June, at which point I'll be 8+4 I think.

sho could I ask what sort of stuff you discussed? how long was the appointment? was the calculation based on LMP or can the midwife guess roughly how far along you are just based on a physical exam?

I was born in the middle of a huge January snow storm and my dad almost didn't make it! I'm really keen for a water birth and possibly a home birth, but not sure I fancy having the mess to clean up afterwards if at home. At the moment I'm busy convincing DH that he really can't go overseas with work in December as (a) I'll need his help more and (b) the little bean will technically reach full term in December and there's no way of knowing when it will show up. Both DH and I were a few weeks early so maybe this baby will be as keen as we were...

milkway07 · 16/05/2011 16:17

Hi all! Congratulations to all the new BFP :)
I just wanted to join in with the "jeans not fitting" topic :( I've had to retrieve some old jeans from 3 years ago (just after DD was born), as my current size no longer fits me either. I think my weight gain is coupled with the fact I have had about 4 first trimesters in the last 1.5 years which has finally taken its toll. Hopefully will have a baby to breast feed at the end of this - bf-ing helped me lose alot of weight!

Like D0gface I have been retching at random times during the day - don't know if that is pregnancy related. Still no nausea or vomiting, but am feeling really upset and angry for no reason. I think my DH noticed and went and got me a pizza for lunch, and then I felt like crying because he was being nice Confused. Hoping this is all pregnancy related and not PMT.
Anyone else having strange mood swings?

Also, how is everyone's peeing? I don't know if I am going as often, but the need to go is very strong - if that makes sense?

I have a scan booked for next week - will be 7 weeks hopefully, still haven't gone to the GP to book-in, and I won't be until I am sure this is a sticky baby. Probably will wait until 8-9 weeks.

Hope you're all well!

SlightlyScrambled · 16/05/2011 18:13

Shimmery I had the very same discharge too and all the Internet diagnosing I could do kept saying it was implantation bleeding and happens to 30% of women. I know it's hard not to worry but if it's brown, then it is old blood. I've been taking it very easy for a few days afterwards and feel better for it now.

Milkyway the moods haven't started for me yet but my book was warning that they start now. Last time round I bawled my eyes out over any ads that had animals in them or if I saw a horse in a field.

I think I might be crankier than usual. Took on my mother today over some bitching she wad doing, I normally change the subject as she can be formidable and arguing doesn't change her views. Yeah, I'm definitely crankier today!

aurorasky · 16/05/2011 19:02

d0gFace, ah yes, the dreams..... V. wierd, too wierd even for MN!

supadupapupascupa · 16/05/2011 19:17

well i'm a right cow! the nicotine withdrawal is not helping!

Just got back from docs and all is well. I'm 4+3, got the booking in about 8 weeks and scan about 10 weeks.
I've filled in my health form (the one that gives you free healthcare). Good job as I have the dentist tomorrow! How's that for timing??
Also got a note from the doc allowing the slimming world to continue. No probs at all.
All in all a great day, just a shame i'm moody Grin

Browncoats · 16/05/2011 19:57

Ha! The mood swings!!! I was made to watch So You Think You Can Dance on Sat night (don't ask) and just after I'd finished saying my piece about how rubbish TV is getting blah blah blah I started blubbing because someone got voted off and they started crying. Jeeeeze! I don't even care!

Poor DP has been taking it in the neck too with my crankiness but bless him, he says it's better than DS getting it.

purpleteapot · 16/05/2011 20:25

Feel like I've missed loads! Been with my friend all weekend and had no time to sneakily get on MN. Ended up telling her late last night as we went to a gig and obviously I wasn't drinking (which is a massive shock to everyone). The antibiotics story didn't work on her, she knows me too well! Feels good though, a weight shared and all that. Working up the courage to tell my parents...I still live with them at the moment and I'm probably not as old as they'd like me to be to have my first. Will let them have their "We're just disappointed" for a while and just grin and bear it.

Hope everyone's well...?

Still no symptoms here but I'm not worrying any more.

OH is constantly texting and ringing to make sure I'm okay, bless him. Will be back home from uni for good this weekend so that will make things loads better.

shonnomanom winter sounds awful at yours! Wonder how many of us will have this problem in January?! Seems so far away but then sometimes it seems far too close!

fishandlilacs · 16/05/2011 20:44

Good lord I am moody too, I keep weeping at the slightest thing.

I am not sleeping at all well, I wake at the slightest thing and then can't get back to sleep.

If I manage to sleep I then wake up for a wee at 5am.

Deesus · 16/05/2011 21:09

purpleteapot i know exactly what you mean! If my friends see me not drinking they're going to ask straight away! (especially seeing as me and dh have been married for a few years and we can't go 2 days without someone asking us about having kids).

My friend is coming round tomorrow so i've come up with an elaborate plan invovling filling strongbow cans with appletise Wink Am not sure i'll be able to keep a straight face though.....

purpleteapot · 16/05/2011 21:23

That's hilarious, you'll have to let us know how it goes. I'd definitely burst out laughing though haha

BimbleBean · 16/05/2011 21:27

Hello again everyone,

So the shock has started to pass and it's sinking in...a little. We have bought a couple of books and we are getting an idea of what's happening and what's to come.

Is anyone else waking up really early in the morning (not necessarily to wee) and not able to sleep, then feeling exhausted in the afternoon at work? It's doing my head in a little! Not sure if it's the pregnancy or just my OH snoring and fidgeting... :)

How soon to start telling people like parents and closest friends? so much to decide :o

knittiekitty · 16/05/2011 21:30

Purpleteapot - good luck with the can plan, made me chuckle so do let me know if it worked. I'm always the driver so that's my usual get out.

D0gFace - weird dreams here too, last night I dreamt I found a miracle facepack that was made from liquid graphite. It was so silky and er grey, unusually 'real' for my dreaming so putting it down to hormones.

Also, only have 3 skirts left to wear to work that allow me to sit without losing circulation. I have a job transfer interview in 2 weeks time, reeeally hoping my suit skirt will do up with aid of a hairband!

Deesus · 16/05/2011 21:35

purple kitty haha...will let you know how it goes. I'm so emotional/hormonal at the moment though i may have a little cry as i pour my beloved cider away.... Sad

Browncoats · 16/05/2011 21:49

Deesus Grin that made me laugh!! I would do the same thing but it's wine I drink - brilliant idea though, and I'd probably be crying too pouring good alcohol down the sink.

imbleBean the wakening up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep - yup, me too! Very annoying whilst looking after a toddler who has decided now is a good time to cut out his afternoon nap. I could have cried today!

ghosteditor · 16/05/2011 22:08

[imagines cans full of appletise] Grin

I have a new crazy symptom... I went swimming today and had to stop after 25 laps after developing a weird spasm in my left hand - think the claw! Never ever had that before and can still feel it now! Assumed it could be fixed with a tasty pack of pickled onion monster munch, seemed to help!

Obvs my nausea is not around this week!

ghosteditor · 16/05/2011 22:12

Sorry for all the ! marks in the last post btw...

Also went to see my team play tonight and ended up sitting next to two friends who are both 20 weeks along and another who had a little girl a few months ago, muchos baby chat, really had to press my lips together not to say anything...

Nanny01 · 17/05/2011 08:09

I had a bleed last night, I was jsut going to bed went to take my pants of and there was bright red blood. I am not in any pain this morning dark red blood but only when wipping if you know what I mean. Dh and I are so sad jsst phoneing the doctors hopeing that our little bean is still with us but know realistically it isn't good news.
