Spagbolagain · 30/04/2011 08:48

Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

RunningDay · 14/05/2011 08:24

Hello all,

I'm ready to join after POAS this morning and getting my BFP Smile

My due date is 21 Jan apparently

I have a DS aged 2.4 and this is the first month of TTC properly for a second. Am amazed it happened so quickly again!

I am running a 6k this afternoon, will have to take it easy now Grin

ghosteditor · 14/05/2011 08:48

I'm with supa, in fact I'm jiggling my leg as we speak, need to pee all the time Grin

runningday congrats and good luck with the 6k! Welcome to the list.

sofaqueenie · 14/05/2011 12:22

Hi everyone, congratulations to you all!

I got my BFP today, scared, overwhelmed but happy. It'll be my second as my DS is 16 months.

I've been feeling a light headed and generally meh for the past week, at least now I know why!

hotcrossSES · 14/05/2011 20:41

Welcome sofaqueenie, RunningDay, Supa and UtterlyMonkey and congratulations!!!

MercyMe - that sounds like a good solution to me :) Hope you don't grow too much in the meantime!

Broody - I've thought about telling my boss but because I have a field role, I travel about a lot and only see my boss a couple of times a month. I've also been in discussions about my career development as I wasn't sure I'd be able to get pg and didn't want to put my career on hold just in case. I think I'll try and hang on until after 2wk scan. It does depend on the type of work though. Maybe wait another few days and see how you go.

Mama5 - your DH sounds wonderful!

BFP Sticks - I also still have my BFP from 3yrs ago with DS and a photo of them it Grin

SlightlyScrambled - I hope you've been taking it easy and had no more bleeding. It does sound like it could have been implantation - FX

purpleteapot - hope you're enjoying your weekend with your friend :)

ghosteditor - I hope if your friend did notice, she's discreet!

ShimmeryPixie - hope you enjoyed your conference despite the dietary challenges!

I'm feeling really worried. I think I said when I first posted that I've been pg 3 times and only the one (DS) has stuck. I know I'm not the only one on this thread that's suffered mc but I really don't think I could cope going through it again. Reassuringly I do have vague nausea, sore boobs and horrendous tiredness. Not so reassuring was that I had all these symptoms the first time I was pg and that ended in mmc.

Sorry to rant but just needed to get it off my chest.

ghosteditor · 14/05/2011 21:10

hotcrossSES it must be especially worrying, hope things progress well so you can start to relax a little. Poor you.

I'm bleeding a tiny bit today (at 4+6) so fretting a little but there's nothing to be done, I suppose. DH is in the military so is going overseas tomorrow for a month, will be hard when he's away, but at least I can just sleep and eat on my own schedule.

How's everyone else today?

hotcrossSES · 14/05/2011 21:16

Thanks ghosteditor - I hope your bleeding is implantation. You are still early enough for that to be possible so FX. Must be tough with your DH going away for a month. Do you get used to it or is that a stupid question?

ghosteditor · 14/05/2011 21:50

Thanks hon. He's away about a third to half the year at the moment, from overnight to one month trips. I'm used to it, but always miss him loads by the end of the trip, and he works very hard when he's home too. It's tough at the moment with budget cuts and recent events. He likes his work for the mist part though; he's a pilot. I think it'll be much harder for both of us from now on...

fishandlilacs · 14/05/2011 22:47

is anyone else not sick in the slightest? I have had virtually no nausea, a little low level stuff when I first found out but nothing since. I am finding this to be a bit of a worry, with all the stress of lsong my job and stuff together with virtually no symptoms I'm beginning to wonder.

The only symptom I have is disturbed sleep and whacking sore boobs.

Spagbolagain · 15/05/2011 09:32

Morning all, hope you are feeling well. fishandlilacs try not to worry about not having symptoms. I honestly had hardly anything when I conceived DS apart from feeling tired and a bit grumpy. Was convinced that 12wk scan would show another mmc. But all was well that time. I know it's impossible, but try to remember that symptoms don't mean anything really, it can go either way, whether you have them or not.

hotcrosSES and ghosteditor hope you are feeling better today too. For all of us, FX lots. It's such a shame that we all worry so much in the early stages, but since we all know the mc stats it's so hard not to....

Welcome to all the newly bfp'd!
I recommend that we all have a lazy Sunday today. Ignore the housework, give the DCs beans on toast, put your feet up and eat Ginger biscuits :)

Browncoats · 15/05/2011 10:13

Spagbolagain that sounds like a brilliant idea! I'm going to take you up on it. Grin

hotcrosSES and ghosteditor I'm going to be keeping my fingers crossed for you both. I know how worrying it is but a lot of people have bleeding throughout pregnancies and go on to have perfectly healthy babies

ghosteditor · 15/05/2011 11:23

Hi ladies, thanks for the positive vibes. All looking good this morning; bleeding stopped quickly last night and no signs this morning, plus tested +ive at 3+ weeks so things seem to be developing well. That was the last test in the house so think I might follow MN advice and stop testing there. However, might sort out GP appt this week, a little earlier than planned.

Roll on 12 weeks!

Fx all xx

supadupapupascupa · 15/05/2011 11:43

Morning all! Been up super early this morning with the toddler. Got loads of housework done and am now sat polishing off last nights Thai remains whilst DH takes toddler to B&Q.
You know I might get my baby books out today. It hasn't really sunk in yet.

I'm struggling with nicotine and Slimming World tbh. The diet can go get screwed for a week or so, I know where the priority is. I had a cig yesterday morning and not had anything since. I don't want patches because they just keep the addiction going.
I have a BMI of over 43 Blush so i'm worried i can't keep my weight down Sad
Going to get confirmation of the pregnancy next week so will chat to the doc about it all. I think once I have their support, and I've got permission to continue at slimming world I'll feel better (you have to have a midwife sign you off in order to continue and not allowed to get advice on what the weight should be anymore from the group leader......just get weighed and keep support going)

Anyway all seems daft knowing some of the worries you ladies have. Keeping fingers crossed for all those experiencing bleeds! It's the biggest fear isn't it?

ShimmeryPixie · 15/05/2011 12:03

Glad to hear it seems to have stopped ghosteditor, and positive vibes to all others who are having bleeds. I've been investigating early scans in my area (Cambridgeshire) as I've been spending lots of time distracted by the idea that 'maybe it's all not really real'. If I just knew there was a heartbeat I'd feel so much better, and if I call this week I can probably arrange something for the week after (week 8) which should tide me over until the 12 week scan... I might ask the midwife what she thinks on Tuesday.

SlightlyScrambled · 15/05/2011 12:21

Fishandlilacs I've no nausea at all either. Got it last time at 5+5 so now I've bypassed that. I just have to think that this is a different pregnancy so maybe no MS this time.

Ghosteditor FX that your bleeding was also implantation, has it been brownish? It's a great sign that it has stopped.

Supa well done on not smoking today. It's been a long time since I smoked but I remember how hard it is to give up. You're doing great already.

Thanks for the well wishes. I've been taking it really easy. Feel so lazy and it probably looks terrible to the inlaws who are here all weekend but they'll understand in a few weeks. DH is doing all the cooking, cleaning and gardening. I'm not allowed to lift a finger!

The spotting has stopped again and I have gotten a few twinges in the stomach but not massive pains. So I'm letting myself believe all is well. Are twinges part of normal pregnancy? I wish I had written more down last time.

You've all my sympathy, Hotcrosses that's really tough what you've been through and I've got my FX that it'll be a safe 9 months for you and bump.

clarde21 · 15/05/2011 13:59

Hope everyone is having a nice chilled sunday so far.

Dh is at work so on my own with DS who is teething again and has a cold! Although he is sound asleep at the mo and has let me have 2hours browsing time of mn!

Not many symptoms here either, just tired and a few headaches. Was lucky with DS as had no MS and only a week or so of nausea but I think that was mainly eating breakfast at 6am due to early starting at work. Until I see the scan it won't feel real.

Got to go into work this week to sort out my return date from current ML. Not telling them about this one until after the scan.

Also booked in with midwife. Our Dr's don't want to know, you just have to book appointment with MW.

Heres to a healthy and trouble free 9 months to everyone x

knittiekitty · 15/05/2011 14:37

Hya all & congrats to new 002 carriers too. I'm so miserable with nausea and so exhausted that I've been going to bed after dinner and sleeping through til morning, so sorry haven't logged on in ages. I had this last time (so DH reminds me) and had forgotten what it felt like! Last time I had nausea well past 5 months so should be more prepared I suppose.
My sis had spotting on and off during her last pg and her doc said to imagine that her womb was like a heavy ripe peach and the spotting was nothing to worry about. Her ds is nearly 6yrs so it was ok for her. I was impressed and bit grossed by that image but there is a logic to it I suppose! I hope you're all ok, it's hard not to worry.
I'm supposed to be revising for an online numeracy test but I'm struggling to stay focussed! I desperately want to transfer to a new job (it's closer to home) so I'm hoping I will fit into my suit for the interview at the end of the month.
I booked in with GP yesterday and found our MW is booked out for 6 weeks. They're going to ring me to try and fit something in - I wonder if there's a mini baby boom where we live, or is it similar for others here?

BimbleBean · 15/05/2011 16:38

Hi Everyone and Congrats :)

I have found out in the last 2 hours that I am pregnant with my first - VERY unexpectedly. OH and I are shocked to say the least. I am a week and a half late for my period, but had cramps and so assumed it was just late (I am very irregular). But I now read that these cramps can be early signs of pregnancy! I took a test to put my mind at rest that I wasn't pregnant...so got quite a shock to see those two lines. As did OH.

Crumbs! We're shocked, a little confused but also pleased. Trying not to get excited as it's so early, I think getting our heads round it might be the first plan. I have a few friends with babies but never thought we'd be facing it for a little while yet. The test tells me I am 5 weeks along so due mid January.

So, hello everyone... from a very shocked and unprepared (but slowly getting excited) first timer!

Spagbolagain · 15/05/2011 17:33

Hey bimble congrats and welcome! Shocked and unprepared are quite common feelings, even when you are trying :) so must be mind-blowing if it's a complete surprise!

Hope the shock wears off soon so you can focus on getting properly excited :o

Mama5isalive · 15/05/2011 18:30

hi to all and i hope all is well with - the lil pains we may all be having and congrats too the newest bean maker!!!!!!! being shocked is the norm here!
this is DC4 for me and i have found my baby diary from 1 of my prev preg DD10
this stage was quite boring and nothing to report apart from slight sickness, sore boobs and tired - so we are all on track i guess! and for the really lucky ones who have no sickness signs be thankful!!!!Grin
was feeling ill all morning and could barely hold down my tea! so since coming from church have been told by dh to go lie down and so i have he is doing dinner and will send mine up with dc! i can really get use to this all.Grin
alll who have an iphone a good free app is "mybaby"it has a journal part in there in which i was able to tuck my secret pictures in 1 of the test and the lines the other of my ermmm growing stomach! i also have again "what to expect", "pregnancy" by babycentre - so many are free!!!!!!!!so the more the better i say! i have created a folder and put them in for all nosey eyes!Grin

Wormshuffler · 15/05/2011 18:59

Hi Ladies, I'm a Lurker, I have a BFP with DC3 but after a MC last time I am decidedly pesimistic! didn't like to lurk and not say hello in a peeping tom kinda way! Have sore boobs and if I concentrate really hard I can feel the slightest bit of nausea!! which is the worrying part as with my dc's I was enormonously sick the whole way through. Hope you don't mind me lurking until I am past the danger zone......
Best of luck to you all :)

Spagbolagain · 15/05/2011 19:42

quiet hello to wormshuffler

Lurk away until you are ready to come out, there are a few ladies on here already who are doing the same :)
Wishing you all the best till then!

HELP I am 7 weeks tomorrow and my favourite jeans won't do up :( I mean literally the buttons won't meet!!!

supadupapupascupa · 15/05/2011 22:24

giraffe I'm told it gets worse......... Sad

shonnomanom · 15/05/2011 23:17

Hello and congrats to all the newbies and 002s!
FX the worrying stage flies through with a happy ending for everyone

mercy thats great that the can build a bra into the dress for you
supa I was told by Weightwatchers to stop imediately

For all the ladies concerned at the lack of symptoms. My friend didnt find out she was pregnant unil 5 months! She had absolutely no symptoms at all. She only poas because her dh was convinced she was either pregnant or had diabetes as she going to the toilet so much. She's a big girl so did really notice her bump growing.

Just back from Brownie Camp, the girls were great but I am absolutely shattered. Iv got my MW appointment tommorrow morning! Grin Its the first step of this all being real. Well apart from the nausea, tiredness, expanding waistline and dizzy spells.
Sho x

supadupapupascupa · 15/05/2011 23:29

sho I heard that about weight watchers, part of the reason i chose slimming world was because they carry on. Got to get midwife signature and plan though. Not sure what the group leader can actually do except weigh you to be honest.....they're not allowed to comment. Will be interesting to find out. I just don't want to pile the pounds on in the first trimester. If the midwife agrees then i'm happy.

will keep you posted! good luck with your appointment! Grin
