Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Browncoats · 17/05/2011 09:45

Nanny - wishing you all the best today. Fingers and toes crossed for you, let us know how you are

GiraffeAHolic · 17/05/2011 10:27

Wishing you all the best Nanny, stay positive

tummytickler · 17/05/2011 11:12

Hello - can I join?
I literally just POAS and got a BFP! Just texted dh (it is no5 for us, so not quite as gooey as we were with other BFP's), and due date is 22nd January (I think!) 3 days before our wedding anniversary!
I am feeling a bit crampy - I was convinced af was going to come, but was so tired yesterday I had a nap - and slept properly - dead to the world. Felt a bot iffy this morning so tested.
I have had 2 miscarriages in the last year, and one chemical pregnancy, so fingers crossed I get to stay this time!
Nanny fingers crossed for you today.
WIll go and try and read all the thread now!

Tanif · 17/05/2011 11:48

Hello everyone... room for a little one?

Nanny that sounds awful, I hope everything is okay today.

I discovered I was pregnant on Sunday morning (a week late, achey boobs, gagging if I so much as looked at a toothbrush, falling asleep at 8pm...) and have an EDD of 15th jan.

Now in a dilema, my mum knows as she knew we were trying and I couldn't bare faced lie to her. We're now trying to decide when to tell DP's family. His aunty from London will be up next week but I'll only be 7 weeks so... Ah well, it's his decision.

shonnomanom · 17/05/2011 11:56

Hi Ladies
Welcome tummytickler and good luck.

Ghost my MW appointment was 1hour long. Lots of family health questions, discussing previous pregnancy. How the system has changed since dd was born, for example, they used to do a blood test at 16wks to check risks for Downs Syndrome and Spinabifida. Now they have a new test for checking for Downs and only check for Spinabifida if there is concern ie someone in the family has it. She also checked my weight and height before taking bloods for Type, HIV, Hepititus(sp?), Iron and something else that I cant remember.
She figured out my edd based on the first date of my last period and based it on a 28day cycle. Which is a total guess with my irrigular periods. She didnt have a poke at my belly.

Supa Glad you got the ok to continue SlimmingWorld
Purple Is this your last year at uni?
deesus The things we do for our bumps! Good luck with your undercover tactics Smile
nanny Your in my thoughts, hope all is well x

shonnomanom · 17/05/2011 11:58

sorry tanif, crossed post. Congrats and welcome x

ShimmeryPixie · 17/05/2011 12:51

Well, I've been to the midwife appointment and all seems to be OK now. My EDD has shifted to 9 January 2012 (which I'm quite pleased about as I'd prefer it to be a bit further from New Year) and my head is spinning with all the information. I have to call my doctors to book my next appointment (for blood tests I think) and I am now the proud owner of two 'urine sample' bottles Hmm

I have now told one person at work (who told me she is looking for a new job, so we now have mutual secrets to keep).

Sorry to hear that Nanny, I hope it turns out OK.

ghosteditor · 17/05/2011 13:23

Thanks Sho good to know!

welcome tummytickler and tanif good to have you both on the list and here's wishing sticky beans to both of you.

Tanif my EDD is Jan 15th too - race you...

Nanny01 · 17/05/2011 13:54

Doctor said it wasn't to bad but is sending us to the EPU for a scan on Thursday.NO more bleeding just a brown and no pain. Crossing my fingers for my bean. Dh has taken this morning of got me lunch tucked me into bed and held me all last night. I never realised how much this ment to him so trying to support him to as it's his baby as well.

Tanif · 17/05/2011 13:56

nanny that sounds like good news :)

ghost I will happily let you go first, then you can reassure me it's not as bad as people say it is!

Weevie · 17/05/2011 14:49

Hey everyone.

Can I join? Im new to the whole MN thing so sorry if my abbreviations aren't 100%

I had my BFP on Sunday after IVF so the clinic says im 4 weeks but my doctor says im 5 weeks. So I think my EDD is 15th January.

This is our first. I have had a few symptoms but I also think some of it is in my head! Hope everyone is doing ok.

Nanny good luck for Thursday, I hope everything is ok!

ShimmeryPixie · 17/05/2011 14:52

Hi Weevie welcome to the thread!

Browncoats · 17/05/2011 15:42

Welcome and congratulations to all the newbies!!! Wishing everyone well with not too much sickness Smile

Nanny - that sounds like it might be good news, try and keep positive and good luck for Thurs. I'm glad your DH is taking good care of you

ghosteditor · 17/05/2011 16:49

fantastic news nanny

weevie another one to join the race with tanif and me for Jan 15th EDD. She's being all grown up and won't play though. By mid Jan I suspect I will be very eager to get the wee bairn out !

fifitrixabelle78 · 17/05/2011 19:51

Hi everyone - sorry I've been away , had loads to catch up on her tonight. Most importantly nanny - hope everything goes ok.

Update on wrist bands- must say I'm not convinced they're for me. No appreciable improvement in nausea at all. Seemed even a bit worse. At present (7+3 -OMG!!!) my nausea seems v much due to low blood sugar levels and only eased with (fairly) constant eating. This had better not continue too long as am already in "fat" trousers.

Had pretty severe low abdo pain past 3 days and was convinced 002 was ectopic so managed to get a cheeky wee scan and it's in the right place with a heart beat! The relief was also immense to discover that it wasn't all a figment of my imagination. Explanation seems to be that I'm getting a lot of uterine stretch at the moment but all these pains are v disconcerting.

Hope you're all doing ok and keeping everything tightly crossed for our little beans.

tigana · 17/05/2011 20:34

hi ever expanding waists january-ites.

nanny fingers crossed for you,

I'm wearing hideous and slightly itchy acupressure travel sickness wristbands to help with the all day long queasiness. They are helping. I still feel squiffy and they don't stop the actual morning vomit sessions, but not as bad. Does mean long sleeves for work though...which even further limits my already minimal list of 'clothes I can still wear'.

Think there will be a few knowing grins when I finally go public at work.

off to bed soon....

purpleteapot · 17/05/2011 21:04

Nanny Good luck for Thursday, I really do hope everything is okay.

Sho It's my first year but transferring my credits to do Open Uni in September. I had decided this before I found out I was pregnant but quite a good decision now!

shonnomanom · 17/05/2011 23:02

Thinking positive thoughts for the nanny family.

Thats good that you already have a plan in place purple, my sis inlaw had to take a year out before doing her final year when she had her pfb.

Congrats and welcome to the newbies.

Im feeling particularly large today. My baggy jeans dont need the essential belt as usual do. Dp actually patted me on the stomach tonight, maybe thats a sign that I actually am as big as I feel. Hmm

Really wish the weather would brighten up and I can wear my lovely spacious summer tops. Its too cold in and wet just now, its more like Autumn just now than the end of Spring.

Sho x

Nanny01 · 18/05/2011 08:17

A quiet night last night for me no blood, symptom checking like mad still have tender nips still fell like I'm going to gag this morning. Fell rested and just have to get through the rest of the day.

ghosteditor · 18/05/2011 09:13

hi nanny that sounds really promising, keeping fx for you.

I am officially enormous this morning! Is it just bloating then? Let's hope I'm putting on all of the weight in first trimester Hmm because at this rate I'm going to be out of all my clothes in a few weeks. And I have a girls holiday in three weeks so will have to lie there like a beached whale on a sunbed. Ok, ok, I know I need to stop thinking and talking like this, but it's all happening unexpectedly fast!

Browncoats · 18/05/2011 10:47

Nanny - that's great news that you're still feeling sick (you know what I mean), my SIL had bleeding at around 7 or 8 weeks and now has DD who has just turned 1.

I'm back to feeling sick this morning too and I seriously cannot believe how much weight I've put on already.

GiraffeAHolic · 18/05/2011 12:15

Hi everyone.
Nanny - that sounds promising, fingers crossed things stay well for you.

The bloating finally seems to be subsiding a bit but I have a black fitted tee on today and the bump is definitely visible Shock fortunately not planning on seeing anyone today.

Dd has a nasty virus with really high temps and vomiting so was up all last night, I'd forgotten about sleep deprivation - I guess it's good practice for a few months time.

Ooh I got my 12 week scan date for 24th June Grin

tummytickler · 18/05/2011 12:17

Morning all.
Nanny - great news about the symptoms still giving you a hard time!
Is there a list of due dates or anything that I can add myself to (and have a nosy at when you are all due!). I have no sickness yet, but I am only 4+2, although felt a bit queezy. I am not looking forward to the morning sickness at all, with 4 other dc to look after it is going to be a grim few weeks!

Is anybody else really hot? I am boiling, not like hot on a sunny day boiling, but right down in my core mega hot. Very odd.
And I still feel like af is going to come, it is very disconcerting!
