Anybody else out there?????
Very surprised, had only SWI once and I thought we had missed the window of opportunity. It seems not, BFP yesterday, royal wedding treat. EDD about 2nd Jan I think.

#2 for me, keeping fingers tightly crossed as had a bumpy ride before conceiving DS. Very excited and slightly terrified. :)

Evening all! Going to check back what I've missed, I work part time but don't get home until 7.30 on Wed and Thurs so I'm usually bloody shattered! I stalk browse mumsnet at work but I can't log on and type stuff then I really wouldn't get anything done!

MabliD what are you going to do job wise once you can't lift stuff? Do they have to find something else?

supadupapupascupa · 12/05/2011 21:46

thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Well I had a 2 and half hour nap with the toddler today and am suffering with awfully painful boobs. I'm only 3+6!!!!

I have an urge to take another test but know this would be silly. I want to save it until Monday just to double check before I ring the docs. I keep holding back on the excitement 'just in case'.

I'm absolutely BURSTING to tell everyone. DH is more restrained than me and want to keep it quiet for as long as possible. I know he's right but it's difficult! Anything could happen, I know that......

If this pregnancy is anything to go by the sickness will kick in at week 5/6, Just in time for my birthday haha!

Really enjoying hearing what you are all up to, especially as most of you are ahead of me a little, it's great to hear what's coming next in terms of symptoms etc haha
x

summerfruitsalad · 12/05/2011 21:49

Buttertart my husband is an android nerd, showed me to search in the marketplace, I downloaded the 'what to expect' app and its quite cool, baby is the size of a sweet pea! It is a bit American though so on the cheesy side.

I did the daftest thing today, DH and I got invited to a joint hen and stag paintballing thing in July by his cousin who he's only known for a couple of years, nice to be included. I said to DH, I don't want to go, I don't like paintballing and he said yes and it's not compatible with our little nugget is it? How the hell did I forget I am pregnant! Grin Silly woman!

Told my parents at the weekend, mum sounded surprised but happy then a minute later said 'can it be a girl this time please' - erm, its already been decided! Kind of annoyed that she'd be dissapointed if we had another DS. Grrr.

hotcrossSES · 12/05/2011 21:56

Hello all!

GiraffeAHolic - you sound similar to me in that nausea has kicked in but not too bad and no vomiting but I am just so tired! Last night I was so tired, my whole body was aching. Then this morning I woke up and was still aching with tiredness Hmm

MabliD - sounds like the right thing to do with work. I hope they sort out some suitable things for you to do without any hassle.

sickness - As well as the other things mentioned, I also know some people that have found taking vit B6 supplement helps.

Apps - I've downloaded the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" App. Free and gives regular updates as to what my little SESame seed should be doing :) Did anyone else UK based watch The Apprentice last night? I was screaming at the tv for them to do something ttc or pg related!

Hello to everyone else - hope you're all doing ok :)

hotcrossSES · 12/05/2011 21:57

summerfruitsalad - x-posted but funny we both said about the same app!

Buttertart · 12/05/2011 21:59

Thanks, summerfruitsalad, I'll check it out.

We still haven't told a soul, mostly because we're so worried it won't last (had a m/c before DS, plus am now on the wrong side of 40!). Have already had the conversations in my head, though, for telling my family, DHs family, friends and work. Just don't want to risk having to un-tell people!

fifitrixabelle78 · 12/05/2011 22:53

Update- got a set of SeaBands from chemist this am. Put them on in car and 5 mins later was vomiting. Inauspicious start, kindly (ahem...) suggested by DH that maybe I'd put them on backwards and stimulated nausea centre rather than nuked it. Ha ha. Anyway... Took them off and was not too bad for rest of day and then have tried them again this pm. Managed dinner for first time in three days! Going to persevere as def seem to feel more human today. There's no risks/side-effects from wrist acupressure that anyone's aware of is there?
Hope everyone else and the 002s are doing ok. xxx

ShimmeryPixie · 13/05/2011 09:10

Hi all, sorry to have vanished for a but - I had to go on a work training course on the continent (which was slightly problematic because all the food at the conference centre was essentially soft cheese, undercooked eggs and seafood...)!

I've also got a conference coming up in June, which I have been told by a friend to get through by ordering 'mocktails' at the bar (these tend to be heavy drinking events at our place).

I have on-off boob pain (more on one side than the other, whch is odd) and my other half informed by this morning that my nipples are larger than before Blush. My nausea is more off than on (and is only queasiness), which makes me a little envious of others as at least then I would really feel pregnant. At the moment I keep having maybe I'm just mistaken episodes Confused.

ghosteditor · 13/05/2011 10:08

hey ladies!

I sneaked another look at my clearblue pg test from last Sunday (yes, I kept it - didn't tell DH Blush ) but sadly the little indicator showing 'pg' has turned off now. Booo... I know that the actual HPT won't mean anything once I start having scans it but in the meantime it was my little reminder that I'm not making it all up!

I'd planned to take another test on Sunday (mostly because I had a two pack) but then not do anymore. I'm a bit reluctant to take a photo in case someone sees it! But perhaps I could take a shot, email it to myself, and then delete from my phone. (Last weekend I handed my phone to a friend so she could look at an app, but she then closed the app and went to the page which shows my 'scout' app and another one called 'FMC' which is a fertility monitor. Of course said friend happens to be a consultant obstetrician. She didn't say anything, but I'm convinced she knows now!)

GiraffeAHolic · 13/05/2011 11:17

I have both my positives from this time in my jewellery boxes, the lines are still there Grin I was also tempted to photograph the first one Blush

supadupapupascupa · 13/05/2011 11:55

When is it ok to go to the doctors to confirm the pregnancy? I'm 4+1 today and tested 3:6 and got BFP.
Would you wait until next week?

I have convinced myself i'm making it up Grin

I have a test left and thought about taking it Monday and if it is still positive ringing the doctors.
What do you think?

ghosteditor · 13/05/2011 12:54

giraffe glad to know I'm not alone in the crazy Grin

supa I'm dithering about this too but I think most advice I've received on here has been to wait a little while. I'm 4+4 and tested BFP at 3+4, or CD 26. I was planning on calling sometime next week (5+?) and hoping to get an appointment at 6+? , but I hear the first appt is a bit of a let down and it's really just to schedule a MW appt at around 8+ weeks. It is worth getting in the system though, I guess just in case something goes wrong or you need medical help.

I'm using up my second test on Sunday before DH goes away for a month. But do let me know what you decide, it's great to be talking to someone at exactly the same stage.

SlightlyScrambled · 13/05/2011 13:59

I think you guys should take photos of the BFP if you'd like to and don't worry about the rest. This is your pregnancy and you might enjoy the memory in the twilight years.

I'm all in a heap today. Had a bit of reddish discharge yesterday after a busy shopping trip. No pains or more blood after so am hoping it was more implantation bleeding.

But I can't help fearing the worst and every niggle is making me paranoid. Had a slight cramp in my side today for a few mins and I'm panicking. 9 more days til I get my scan. Aghh!

I'm wishing the morning sickness would start too.

ghosteditor · 13/05/2011 14:18

scrambled you're probably right about the photo! Really hope all's ok for you and I'm sure it's just as you described, I hear it's common but it doesn't mean it's any less worrying when it happens to you. Also, a friend of mine is at 18 weeks now, all looking healthy, and she was never sick, so don't worry too much about the ms.

Look after yourself!

purpleteapot · 13/05/2011 14:21

Giraffe I will admit, I took a photo of my BFP Blush My OH really wanted it, apparently he keeps looking at it all the time, bless him.

I'm slightly concerned, 6 weeks now and feeling nothing at all. The period-like pains have gone, sore boobs were here for about a day, not any hungrier, no sickness, not tired...Starting to worry a bit. I know I might seem lucky not having anything awful like sickness but it makes me believe it less. It's my first so I don't even know what to expect!

Probably sound silly, I know!

Hope you ladies are all doing well today. Any plans for the weekend? My lovely best mate is coming over to my uni to keep me company this weekend before my exams :)

GiraffeAHolic · 13/05/2011 14:34

purpleteapot you can borrow my nausea and tiredness for a while if you want. I walked Dd to nursery this morning, walked back and collapsed on the sofa. Have picked her up now and fighting to keep my eyes open :(

purpleteapot · 13/05/2011 14:37

Sounds awful! Are you constantly tired then?
I know I will hate it when it does happen, just worried that it isn't going to. I sound so daft! Watch this space, few days and I'll be on here filling you all in on the ins and outs of my sick haha

Buttertart · 13/05/2011 14:45

giraffe, I took a photo of my BFP with my DS, but probably worse, I still have the two preg tests from back then, too - over 2 years later Blush. I'm so glad I have them, as I have looked at them many, many times, and they always make me smile. And they still show the second line!

This time around, my DH took the photo Smile.

purpleteapot, I was having some nausea and major tiredness, but they seem to be gone now. No sore boobs at all, and I'm 6+4, so I share your concerns!

UtterlyMonkey · 13/05/2011 18:00

Hello ladies! Just found out I'm 4-5 wks pregnant w first baby! All a bit surreal and need some assurance this is actually happening? Aside from sore boobs, and the need to graze I'm still not convinced. Will get another test tonight just for peace of mind!

purpleteapot · 13/05/2011 18:02

Looks like we're in the same boat Buttertart!

Congratulations UtterlyMonkey, can never do too many tests Grin

tigana · 13/05/2011 20:04

I still have my bfp from DS, must be 6 year old pee by now!! Found it the other day in one of my "special/important/might be useful thing" boxes. Blush

MercyMe · 13/05/2011 20:56

Thank you shonno and butter for the advice, spoke to the dressmaker today and they are going to build me a bra into the dress. Which is a relief, just hope they don't get too much bigger between now and wedding!

I had a bit of a panic this morning as all symptoms seem to have gone, hoping that I'm just being paranoid! Wouldn't even mind a bit of morning sickness just to reassure me!

Mama5isalive · 13/05/2011 22:40

supadupapupascupa · 13/05/2011 22:50

I am officially sick of our bathroom. I haven't wee'ed this much EVER!!

Plus I have to get through the stairgates to get up the stairs and I ALWAYS manage to bash myself on the bloody things!

Going to test again monday and then ring the DRs. Thanks for your advice ladies xx

Broodyandnew2this · 13/05/2011 23:37

Fifitrixabella, let me know how the wrist bands work out, I've just had to stock up on lemon and ginger tea, stem ginger snacks, and ginger capsules to try and keep the sickness at bay, and I hate ginger at the best of times! Has anyone else felt like telling their boss rather than suffer in silence? Maybe I'm just weak, I know I will definitely need to harden up for about 7.5months time.... (anyone else just a teensy bit worried petrified about the birth bit?) Confused
