HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Evening all, welcome newbies (still quiet new myself)

jo102jo really pleased that everything's ok, that must have been nerve racking!

DP and I have been pretty good but he did have two very moody days this week and made me cry by snapping at me, was extremely apologetic when he realised he made me cry. He's a sweetheart really, no specific argument just a bit of stress I think.

Spent the afternoon with my best friend who is currently 41 weeks, bless her she was doing her best to be excited for me with my still quiet new news although I did get a lot of "you wait for X and you wait till you get Z".

I've been getting quiet a bit of cramping today, sore boobs and quiet tired, symptoms still relatively mild though I feel. :)

Speaking of food, I had a pizza hut buffet mmmmm although I was concerned about the waitress having hair like something out of Sesame Street and getting quiet close to my food...

xstitch · 21/04/2011 22:18

I'm jealous kate I really want my appointment through so I know when it is. Guess won't hear anything until next week now

plupedantic · 21/04/2011 22:26

Hi, all.

So sorry my last post was such a downer - and for no reason whatsoever, as I still seem to be pregnant, and have actually managed to forget that for long stretches (instead of worrying about it as I was before)!

Tiredness and lack of sleep seem to be the eternal paradox of pregnancy! I'm sitting in a bathroom, trying not to go to bed with DS (we're on holiday), who protested and pranked and screamed for ages about going to bed, and is now happily passed out.

I'm sorry I haven't managed to get through (and keep in my head) everything which has happened on the thread so far, but it sounds as though employment problems are already starting for some people, so if you are new, do check out MN's Employment Issues section.

adalle · 21/04/2011 22:42

Evening folks looks like I might have to go and get checked had spotting and now pinkish discharge -fearing the worse naturally but bolstered by jo102jo's post earlier I'm 7 weeks too. I will probably go to the hospital walk in centre tomorrow morning. Sad

StrawberriesAndScream "Still due December 2011"?

Adalle it sounds very similar to what I had on Friday which continued till Wednesday, still don't have my second blood test back, but dr said first one looked perfectly normal for about 8-9 weeks. I think quite a few people on the thread have had this kind of bleeding, but obviously, if you are offered a scan definitely take one! Dr said in my area they no longer do early scans unless the bleeding is substantial.

KateM77 We were just going to take DD with us and take our chances, I remember seeing a fair few parents bring their children to scan last time I was pg, sometimes is just unavoidable.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair I would not look forward to single motherhood at this time either! I got DH to take DD with him on his holidays as I knew I couldn't cope with work plus her on my own. If you need to scream at all during that time, where here to put our fingers in our ears listen, and look sympathetic help if we can.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/04/2011 07:35

Adelle Hope things are okay?

Strawbs Dec 2011 - only 8 months to go we can do it :)

DP made up for last night :) he sat and read my pregnancy books with me ESP when I highlighted hormone issues and thing for the dad to be to do.

I was a single mum upto DD being 2,went thru pregnancy on my own and the first 2yrs, so this is all new to him. He apologised for making me cry.

We've agreed to tell our families this weekend Grin which is a big relief to me. Don't think I could keep it a secret for the next 6 weeks.

jomouse · 22/04/2011 09:06

Can I just say "Hot Cross Buns" with loads of melting butter. Oh yum.
Told my sister in law last night. She nodded sagely and said "Well, you look pregnant", didn't have the heart to tell her that I was just constipated and bloated (TMI, sorry!)
Having said that...
I can definately feel my body changing. Huge pendulous breasts and thickening middle, it's a shocker but I need to get used to it...and leave vanity at the door. I'm only 5'1 and need to get used to looking like a weeble. Goodbye pert breasts!

Stawbs - December 2011, delivering amazing Christmas gifts

KateM77 · 22/04/2011 10:06

Adalle Hope all is OK

jo mmmmmm Hot Cross Buns. DH just got back from Tesco, really hope he bought some! Normal levels of quesiness have resumed and appetite is back [bugrin]

Bee thanks, will just try our luck at the scan if it comes to it

figgygal · 22/04/2011 10:25

Hello all have come over from the pregnancy thread for Due in December am due 01st with baby no.1, panicking a lot and have discovered i am a bit of a crazy person. Am convinced its going to go wrong and have already ben on phone to midwife once. Frustrated as not seeing anyone until 11th May which is going to be such a loooong wait only did the pg tests last friday and this has been the longest week of my life.

Haven't had any sickness (YAY) but headaches, metallic taste, lots of twinges and couple of days of tiredness and they do seem to be tailing off the last couple of days any one elses symptoms inconsistent?

xstitch · 22/04/2011 11:10

Hope everything is OK adalle

BlueCrane · 22/04/2011 12:44

Hey adalle hope all's ok this morning?

darcie glad you and DP made up. We've resolved DH's birthday too which is good!

Still no sickness here, but v sore (and huge) boobs and am 7 weeks today...yay!! [busmile]

DH working but finishes in couple of hours but he's got a stinking cold and feeling v sorry for himself at the mo...he's hard work when he's ill so could be a fun afternoon!! He's so annoyed at being ill as well whcih is just making it worse!

I was hoping to have heard from the MW by now but not really holding out too much hope until beginning of May now with all these bank hols...means I'll probably be 9 weeks before I get an appointment with her now! I really want to tell my Mum but DH keeps saying that we agreed not to tell anyone until after 12 week scan...just SO hard keeping it a secret!

LittleBlueBoat · 22/04/2011 12:50

Hope all is well Adalle, sending posative vibs your way (((hugs)))

My symptoms are inconsistent, i think it depends on hunger and sleep levels also blood sugar levels too.

I dont think anyone is happy about our new baby except husband and I Sad

My inlaws was around today and i tried talking to them about it but they didn't want to know. I dont think they want us to have another baby Sad

As the only family near us i was kind of hoping they would be happy, so i have no one to share my joy with Sad

I kind of wanted to work on haveing a better relationship with them but every time i try they act like knobs. Also my Brother in law is not talking to me because i have got pg again - like i did it on my own Grin He is 40 yo and still lives with his mum and dad and acts like a child so i think i can live with his judgement and the silent treatment for some years to come.

I feel sorry for my baby coming in to this famile but then i only class me, DH and son as a family and we are very nice its just a shame about our extended families Hmm

I hope everyone else is having a better day Smile

Also i want to go out and buy hot crossed buns now Envy

Jan9ne · 22/04/2011 13:03

Hi everyone. Hope all ok. Am so tired today- v bad night's sleep. figgygal i am 7 weeks today and symptoms are very inconsistent. Sometimes bloated, sometimes not. Boobs up and down (quite literally!) Found out 2 weeks ago but seems like two years.
Convince myself every so often that it's going to come to naught and when they scan will be nothing there. This waiting is awful.
adalle i do hope everything is ok. I had some very light pink on tissue 11 days ago and 2 days ago. Think it is quite common but hard not to worry. HUGS all round

Hi everyone.
I just found out for definite on Monday that I am 6 weeks pregnant, due on the 6th December 2011.
I'm absolutely petrified. I've never been pregnant before, and have no iea what to expect. Thank heavens for the internet!!!
Hubby is overjoyed, as are both sets of parents. I am happy about it but can't help panicking every so often.
I've not been sick yet, but have felt nauseous. I'm worried that it'll get worse and am dreading going back to work next week (I'm a teacher so have been off on Easter hols). Not telling anyone at work yet - just in case!!!!
I'm sure I sound like a complete flake Blush - a lot of thoughts to express all at the same time - I'm not usually like this. I'd really love some advice and reassurance both from those with experience and from other first timers like me.
Confused
Thanks

BeeMyBaby · 22/04/2011 14:14

FairyBayleaf - are you sure you are not 7 weeks? (I know from the stats Jan9ne is 7 weeks with EDD 8th Dec, she is 7 weeks so you must be...)

BeeMyBaby · 22/04/2011 14:25

ok, quick check re the stats thread:
jo87jo DC1 EDD 3rd December
jo102jo DC1 EDD 3rd December 26yo Norwich
is this two people or one person with a name change?

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 22/04/2011 14:26

adalle hope everything's going ok

darciesmum massive kudos to you being a single mum to your DD, hav had to do it for a few weeks at a time most months since Sept and it's bloody hard, can't imagine how much worse it would be fulltime, especially during the newborn stage

Glad to hear everyone's made up with their DH's again!

congrats fairbayleaf, to be honest not much you can do if it does get worse, apart from suck lots of mints and drink copious amounts of peppermint tea. Good news is it generally doesn't last much into the 2nd trimester, but try to keep positive and otherwise come on here to moan!

My boobs are insanely massive and I'm generally much fatter than I was a few weeks ago, which is depressing. Have already got out my old maternity wear and so am much more comfortable, DH reckons I'm showing already and to be honest it does feel like it, except this new tummy is def soft and squidgy, not hard and habouring a big baby!

strawberries I like still due december 2011 Grin

DarciesmumandBump2 · 22/04/2011 18:26

Thanks Mousy was hard ESP when I had to go back to work but my baby is worth it. I'm proud to say I provided everything for my DD all by myself :)

Had a busy day took DD out. And told both sets of Parents they are both really happy. Phew Grin

Congrats fairbayleaf, it's my first time too and despite reading as much as I can it still doesn't seem real. I finally told my mum yesterday which was a good decision because I needed to talk to someone who'd actually been pregnant before! I'm finding ginger tea and toast help with nausea...

Liska · 22/04/2011 19:46

jomouse I've had hot cross buns for breakfast every day:)

Sorry to hear about all the insensitive DPs out there. Mine's just a bit dim/forgetful. I told him earlier that the smell of the mushrooms he was cooking was making me feel sick and he just said "why?" If I say that I'm tired and I have to lie down he just says "why?" It's mad - we've been TTC for 2 years, and he seems to have forgotten about it!

I feel like I need to hold my breath for the next 7 1/2 weeks - I can't believe that I'm really finally pregnant. Last time, with DD, he told his Mum straight away, but this time we're both waiting.

Mind you I think my boss has cottoned on - I refused to move any big boxes for the office move, when normally I'm right in there, and then when we went out for a celebration lunch I was the only one not drinking. It's the not drinking wine that gives it away every time!
