HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Eeek! Shock Just gone to make myself some lunch & discovered some mould on my homemade bread...I ate a couple of slices toasted this morning & a couple toasted yesterday.

Has anyone else done this by mistake? How dangerous is it? I'm now wondering if this is why I've been feeling so rough all day...had a dodgy tummy since this morning but I just assumed it was another pg symptom.

Help! I feel so stupid not to have noticed but I'm walking around half asleep & I've never had this problem before; must be due to the warmer weather Confused

xstitch · 20/04/2011 13:41

Don't panic honey I did that when pregnant with dd I am like a zombie in the mornings normally but with early pregnancy tiredness I am 10 x worse.

I have been lifting things too. Dd is past the toddler stage but with DP away for weeks at a time I can't really leave the washing. I managed to get my self all worried yesterday after pushing DD on the swings.

I still haven't got my appointment letter in :(.

HoneyLovesCake · 20/04/2011 13:53

Thanks xstitch I feel awful but I figure there's not alot I can do about it now.

Why is lifting things that bad? Is it really? My midwife didn't mention it. I can't stop lifting things; I need to carry boxes up & downstairs for work I'm home alone so it's not like anyone else can help.

UntamedShrew · 20/04/2011 14:07

I'm eating non stop at the moment - had 2 lunches today.

What are you all eating today? I am nosy partly wondering if I am just being a big greedy piglet and partly stuck for inspiration as lots of my usual favourites are turning my stomach.

So come on, what's on the menu for your blueberry (apparently it's that size that week for me!) today??

ThePippy · 20/04/2011 14:17

Afternoon all. I have been trying to say hi for days now but everytime I log in there are so many posts to catch up with that by the time I have read them all I run out of time to actually post myself! You lot like to chat ;-)

Hello to all new joiners too - so many of us now!

Just wanted to say on the BMI thing that I have the same panic's - I am much bigger (by at least 4 stone) than I was with DD and I am dreading the whole high risk due to being fat label that I am sure to be given at booking in. I have also heard story's of sonographers writing on notes "too much mum to get good results" which I know they have to say, but it does seem rather cruel to state it in those terms.

Well it looks like I may be starting to get some MS. I had none at all with DD so it has taken me by surprise, but the last few days I have felt pretty much sick all day. Not to the point of throwing up yet so fingers crossed that it doesn't develop further. Also last night my nipples brushed against my PJ top as I was reaching over the bed and it felt like someone had taken a hot knife to them - I thought the sensitivity had gone away!

I am off on holiday tomorrow after work and not back until 3rd May and then have my booking app 2 days later so that should keep my mind off things for a while.

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather!

BlueCrane · 20/04/2011 16:21

hey pippy ...welcome...come join the natterers!!

shrew I had bran flakes with milk for breakfast, a piece of homemade ginger cake and a cup of tea mid morning, pasta salad with cucumber, peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, cheese and olives with a granary breadroll and a fruit corner for lunch, nothing yet this afternoon though about to go and see what the lovely machine downstairs had to offer! Planning chicken stir fry and rice tonight and maybe a few lots of mini eggs as have some friends around for an Easter social. Having said all of that it is less than I would normally eat as I have rather lost my appetite...usually thinking about food all the time!!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 16:25

Welcome Pippy

Shrew i've had ryvitas for brekkie, ryvitas for lunch with some bacon noodles, and just waiting for dinner cooked by DP. Would normally of eaten alot more but feel really bleurgh.

Well went for my appt at the docs, decided where I want to give birth and she agreed to the birthing centre yay for me. My mum, however, will have a few words to say about the hospital I will be going to if all else fails, its the one across the border in west sussex so not looking forward to that conversation.

Got my midwife booking in appt next weds 3:15pm her name is Melody. Got the Emmas Diary and the info about the maternity unit at the hospital so the ball has started rolling Grin . The doc said about the timing of boxing day lol, said DD was born at 39wks so heres to hoping even then she said still what a week to have a baby lol. Said about diet, told her all the things I know to avoid and she said I knew more than she did!

My boobs every now and then hurt but nothing dramatically different in size!

Feel hungry and sick at the same time which is not good

CuttlefishDramas · 20/04/2011 16:53

Anyone else crying at Eastenders!?

Finally got my booking in appointment through, but it's not till mid May, and as I had that bleed and cramping earlier on, I just can't wait that long so I've booked myself an £85 early scan next Thursday Blush

My sister told me she was pregnant a day before I poas, but I haven't told anyone in my family that I'm pregnant too yet - want her to have her moment for as long as possible because they have been trying for awhile. It's killing me though because we are due in the same month and I'm so excited!!

Boobs feel like rocks... Only an A cup so really hoping that means that they are going to get bigger soon!

Today I bought some yoghurt coated cranberries in town - heaven. Bagels and Philadelphia for breakfast, and I've got cheddars and water biscuits by the bed ready for MS, but it hasn't happened yet... (frantically xf and touches wood)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 16:56

Cuttle Eastenders hasn't made me weepy i'm just glad the storyline is over.

Bagels & Philly yum yum yum.

If I can't persuade the mw next week to book me in for an early scan think we might book a private one. Which company have you used?

xstitch · 20/04/2011 17:01

I have an interview tonight and feeling sick :( don't know if it's MS or nerves.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 17:03

Xstitch prob a combo of both!

CuttlefishDramas · 20/04/2011 17:44

Darciesmum I'm in Dorset, so I'm using this one: bournemouthbabyscans.co.uk/

But there is also this one: www.cusultrasound.co.uk/pregnancy-scan-service.aspx

One is at the hospital after hours, the other is the university training place.

BMI also do them, and I think they are nationwide?: www.bmihealthcare.co.uk/treatment/treatmentsdetail?p_name=0%20-%20Early%20pregnancy%20and%20dating%20scan%20(6-10%20weeks)&p_treatment_id=414

xstitch Goodluck!!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 18:30

ahh right yeah. Will wait to find out next week and then if she can't book me in early i'll book a private scan

pixie04 · 20/04/2011 18:32

Evening All,

Thanks for the welcomes :) do we have a running board of who's who and when they're due?

I've got my Dr's appointment this evening which should be fun, I have really irregular cycles and haven't had a period since February but I'm pretty sure I'm between 5 & 6 weeks because I used to chart my cycles and I'm a pretty good judge of when I ovulate. I'm going to push for a viability scan though, I used to have lots of problems with endometreosis so hopefully they'll scan me to check for eptopic. I've already booked in my first midwife app for 11th May :D.

I'm feeling fine, I've felt more pregnant with normal PMT! I literally just have sore boobs at the moment which I'm hoping isn't a bad sign :S

So what's all this about BMI, I shall have a catch up through the treads :)

X

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 18:37

Pixie Theres a stats thread for due in dec somewhere.

I guess I'm lucky that i'll only be 5+3 when I see the mw?!

pixie04 · 20/04/2011 18:52

Thanks Darciesmumandbump2 5 + 3 thats not bad to see your MW. I'm not allowed to see mine until at least 8 weeks according to my GP's guard dog style receptionists. I've got my Dr's app this evening to tell him the news but the receptionist told me I don't need to see him.... I thought well he knows my past gynaecological history so perhaps that's up to him.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 19:22

Pixie once I saw the dr, I took the info needed for the receptionists out to them and she said I have 2 appts for next week :) even tho the GP said I shouldn't expect to see my MW until 8 wks hehe

KateM77 · 20/04/2011 20:30

DD is 1 today, and what an amazing year it's been! Bring on DC2 :)

I'm lifting her about all over the place, along with shopping bags, hoovers etc. I didn't avoid any lifting during last pg and even moved house, and all was fine. I think you can be given too much advice - just listen to your body and do what it tells you!

My body has currently been telling me to eat almost constantly to help ease the queasiness. I was the same last time around too. Won't tell you what I've eaten today, the post would be far too long Grin

Got my midwife appointment 9th May and waiting for scan date. DH only came to scans with me last time around, and I expect it'll be the same this time too

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 21:02

Kate Happy Birthday to your DD :)

BeeMyBaby · 20/04/2011 21:38

Happy Birthday to KateM77's DD! Did she have a party?

So had an oddish day today - because of my bleeding I am having two drs appointment this week, and had one last week to tell my dr I was pregnant, so my boss hauled me into her office to check if I was ok, I said I was fine, she queried if she should be panicking over possible mat leave jokingly - I went bright red and stayed very quiet then bolted out her office, so basically she now knows or has a very good idea that I'm pg. I was extremely worried as my contract is currently only till Sept, but by the end of the day she told me I had been made permanent - so now she knows and I have a permanent job - so much stress has been lifted from me! I have the 2nd drs appointment tomorrow as I had a blood test on tues and will get another tomorrow to check my hormones are still increasing and its not a mmc, so will hopefully know about that by the end of tomorrow (dr will phone me with results). It would be great to have all the stress taken away by the weekend.

Now watching misbehaving mums to be from last thursday, it makes me think of the awful diet I had last pregnancy - I am determined to be healthier this time (provided the blood test results are good tomorrow of course!)

jomouse · 20/04/2011 21:39

Hello everyone,

Can't wait until we all start getting our good news scans, it will be great to get rid of the tension!
I can't work out if not feeling pregnant at the moment or not, have got so use to being knackered with painful boobs that it's all seeming frighteningly normal. Keep prodding the boobs just for the ouch factor...

pixie04 · 20/04/2011 21:54

BeeMyBaby I think your boss was a little out of line joking about maternity leave like that a bit insensitive really but really glad it's all worked out, must feel great having two big things sorted in one day Smile

Just had my Dr's app, well at half 7, Dr says I could be anything between 5 & 8 weeks so to book in with my MW next week or the week after if possible. He says I'll probably get referred for my 12 week scan earlier than I need it because of the confusion over my dates but they'll just re refer me and I'll get a second scan. Better battle the receptionists in the morning lol.

My GP was really good, went through my gyne history with warnings of eptopic signs and was really friendly and reassuring, so glad I didn't wait another 3 - 4 weeks to see the midwife like the receptionist wanted me to.

florizella I'm british but live in Copenhagen. The weather was pants when I left last thursday but should be getting better now. Its ridiculous here though - I actually bought a cheapie bikini from Tesco today, to see if I can get a mini-tan before I leave...

I took my DD, (almost 3 years) to the hairdresser for her first trim today. She has beautiful, thick, multi-racial hair and he blew it out straight before he cut it. So she was swishing it around all day (its so curly it doesn't normally move so i guess it was the novelty value) and it looked really weird and wiggy, like an american child beauty queen!

In other news, I ate coco pops, pizza express pizza and doughballs for lunch, a krispy kreme doughnut, and finally a wholemeal pitta with hummus, coleslaw, wensleydale cheese and avocado for dinner, with gherkins on the side! its all stuff that I can't get in copenhagen, so I'm just going to town.

I do need to calm down on the food, 'cos I am a bit depressed at how chunky i am already. Last pg I gained 12 kilos in total and went back to normal gradually, but this time I started off 2 or 5 kilos heavier than my start weight last time and not in such good condition...As soon as this sickness eases up, I need to start exercising again.

Annoyingly, scandinavian women look like they have swallowed a basketball when they are pregnant, and snap back into shape within minutes. Its not important in the bigger picture, I know, but I hate how public you and your body become when you're pregnant, people just comment and it makes me cringe (residue of fighting my weight since I was a teen, I guess).

Tjuice · 20/04/2011 23:05

p.s. bee - congrats ;)
