HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Morning peeps anyone had to do pee tests in the morning? I have been asked to monitor my protein and glucose levels both normal but my ketone was 15 which is top of normal I think anyone know?

My weight is flutuating too, I was overweight and I have lost 2 kilos since my BFP just by following heathly guidelines when pg but seriously how much can I lose if anything in early pg? Doc was fine with the weight loss by the way.

I suspect at some point my weight must go in the other direction.

florizella · 19/04/2011 11:48

poor you adalle! did the doctor say why you needed to monitor stuff? it sounds to me like they could be worried about diabetes.. well done with loosing weight btw, I've managed to gain half a stone though bloating and constant snacking.. I don't know why they call it morning sickness, its an all-fecking-day sickness! Thankfully can sleep, have difficulty not sleeping really!

BlueCrane · 19/04/2011 11:57

Morning all...glad I'm not the only one suffering with sleep issues! I do wonder whether it's our body's strange way of getting us used to having a little one to care for at all hours of the night Confused

I've had a very good morning Smile went to my new docs practice to register and they checked my urine and blood pressure - all good, no nasties. Then had to wait a bit but got an appointment as well to see the nurse to register everything and should get a call from the practice MW in the next week! She was appalled at the actions of my last GP practice and I'm definietly going to make a complaint! She gave me some useful looking leaftlets and a book called 'Emma's diary' - not read any of it yet but going to go and sit in the park at lunch and read it all!! She said I was 7+6 but i can't work that out at all as it's only 6+4 since my LMP?!?! She also put my EDD as 10th Dec which is earlier than I had it because it doesn't take account of late ovulation. I'll update the stats though. Feeling very happy to finally have things moving...

Liska · 19/04/2011 12:01

Morning all! I was up all night with DD (4) who had tummy ache, so we're all just emerging - oops. Not helping the nausea though...

Bee - don't be silly, you're not nosey, that's what profiles are there for (it's quite nice to know someone actually looked at mine!) But it does prove I need to be more organised! I'm actually already pretty scared of the amount of organisation I'm going to need with 2DCs - it 's not my strong suite at all!

So glad you're all there with me:)

adalle · 19/04/2011 12:59

Hi Florizella docs think I am high risk of diabetes so looks like I will be monitored and tested for it constantly. Basically I have to follow diabetes guidelines though technically not. I've read more on net about the ketones and seems to be normal but I will keep my eye on it. If you get raised glucose and ketones then alarm bells it seems for me and the tadpole.

My pg symptoms have subsided so far and still no sickness? so hyper sensitive at mo thinking something is wrong. DH is the only pain at the mo!!!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 19/04/2011 13:07

Thanks strawberries and littleblue. I've not had counselling since I was 21, attempted suicide at 18 and in prozac til I was 21 as well, just stopped it all, self medicated etc. Will go along and see what the psychiatrist has to say. just aware I'm susceptible to depression anyway and don't think I've ever really dealt with why. Maybe they'll sort me our with some cbt which'd be useful for when dealing with 2 children! Thanks for sharing though, always good for it to be out in the open.

Am having another constantly nauseous and knackered day. Leaving for France in an hour and I still haven't packed....

BeeMyBaby · 19/04/2011 14:46

tada

JennyW1 · 19/04/2011 15:08

Hello,
This is my first post on Mumsnet... I did a test last Thursday and again on Saturday and both were positive. Thrilled to bits, the only thing I'm not so happy about is that the due date is 20th December, so being the first it could easily end up being Christmas or New Years!

The first doctor's appointment isn't for another 2 weeks, which feels like ages away. We've told our parents and siblings - it was tell them or avoid talking to them for another two months! We're not going to tell other relatives or friends until the first trimester is over though, so I thought this would be a good place for pregnancy-talk!

Have been feeling good so far, only faint nausea in the afternoon for the past few days, and a seemingly overnight boob job!

I'm afraid I haven't read through all 33 pages, but hello and congratulations, everyone :-)

HoneyLovesCake · 19/04/2011 15:19

Hi Everyone,

Can I join? I have been lurking since I got my BFP last month but it didn't feel real until today as I've just had my first appointment with midwife; I self referred so hadn't seen a GP or anything until today. To be honest I still feel a bit of a fraud posting on here at all...maybe that'll pass after the first scanConfused

Appointment was at home so I spent yesterday cleaning & this morning baking biscuits :o I'm quite excited now as she's already put me down for a homebirth!

Btw my EDD is 4 December.

Welcome Newbies and Congrats.

Lola Terrible about your burglars.

Strawbs Hopefully this time round the signs will be easier to notice and it won't happen to you again.

Well this is really weird, my left boob is sore and tingly, the right seems fine although they don't seem to of grown tho.

Done another test this morning just to make sure and it came up pregnant 2-3wks so def preg Yay for me. Drs appt tomorrow.

LittleBlueBoat · 19/04/2011 17:30

Hello Everyone

I had pain last night and when i got up this morning i had bleeding. I freaked out, DH got day off work, grandpearents had our little boy for the day and me and DH went to A&E.

I had blood take and wee samples given and then a scan at 2pm. It was all so fast i think they were worried about an egtopic pregancy.

On the scan i saw the heartbeat - just a flicker of light. I'm 6 weeks and not 8 weeks. They could not see where the blood was coming from but i no longer have a 2cm cyst on my left ovary!

I also have a UTI, which hurts.

So all in all its good i think.

LittleBlueBoat · 19/04/2011 17:31

Also Baby was in the right place, so its ok Smile

Liska · 19/04/2011 17:34

Welcome Jenny and Honey! It's so hard not being able to tell people isn't it? I'm trying to work out how to deal with work tomorrow, as we are moving offices, and I'm usually one of the first to pitch in with the heavy boxes!

@Lola So sorry about burglars that's awful.

@Bee you're a star!

@jomouse - this may not be very helpful, but I had a strong history of depression, and everyone was sure I would get PND, but I didn't. I was so worried, as DH isn't very good at spotting things like that, and I know from experience that I would deny the symptoms until things were very bad. Turned out fine.

Having DD might have destroyed my body, my sleep, my sex life, my social life, my career prospects and pretty much everything else, but she has made me happier than I've ever been in my life. My previous cycle of depression seems to have been halted.

So I suppose I'm saying that while you should definitely read up on it and prepare those around you to keep an eye on you, you shouldn't let it worry you to the point that it spoils your enjoyment of your pregnancy.

Sending a hug anyway though!

florizella · 19/04/2011 17:41

LittleBlueBoat how scary! glad to hear all seeming O.K. with the bean, hope the UTI clears up :(
BeeMyBaby brill list, lovely to see myself up there with so many others.

Congrats and fingers crossed to all!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 19/04/2011 18:39

LittleBlueBoat Glad everything is alright that must of been quite a scare.

DD is pushing her luck with her dinner again tonight grrr and......breathe

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 19/04/2011 18:42

liska I'd second that, I was terrified it would bite me massively but thankfully didn't....

Great about the cyst and baby in the right place, AND seeing a heartbeat littleblueboat!! HOpe the UTI clears up and the bleeding ends up being nothing sinister

LittleBlueBoat · 19/04/2011 18:46

By the time they did the scan they could not see any blood and told me everything looked normal and that the bleeding could have been implation bleeding.

xstitch · 19/04/2011 20:15

Glad your scan went well blueboat.
I am starting to get irrationally annoyed that mys can appointment hasn't come through yet. I want to know when I am aiming for. I was getting some pains in my groin yesterday and keep worrying if I am still pregnant or not Confused It is so scary.

I fell asleep twice today Blush but I haven't been particularly sick or anything which worries me that I don't have enough symptoms. I know its silly but....

KateM77 · 19/04/2011 20:48

Wow this thread moves fast! Struggling to keep up what with work and looking after DD. Thanks for doing the stats Bee. If it's not too late to add, I'm 33 and will be 34 by Dec.

Still struggling to get my head around being pregnant again so soon and also getting a bit paranoid about whether everything's OK. I keep trying to compare symptoms to my last pregnancy and worrying that I don't feel quite as sick as last time! Scan can't come soon enough Confused

Liska · 19/04/2011 21:43

GirlwiththeMouseyHair - sorry my previous was meant for you, but apparently I'm caught between pregnancy hormones and incipient alzheimers.

And sorry to Jomouse too. [hangs head in shame]

adalle · 20/04/2011 00:31

Hi everyone on a bit late tonight welcome to more folks this is an ever expanding gang x

Littleblueboat - yeek and hope it all goes ok

Xstitch me too getting occasional pains and leap to conclusions every time!
Here's a copy of my latest news from another thread just to save me typing it again:

I had another eventful day gees this pg milarky is something!

I had been waiting 3 months for a small filling at the dentist it got postponed cos firstly I was ill then the dentist went on a course (?), then I got delayed at work and finally made it today. But wait the gums around tooth are now sore and I now have an abcess and I discover
1 it's not filling related it's pg mum gum condition about 50% of pg mums get it!!
2 the filling and a crown cannot be done until after pg
3 I can't have xrays (I knew this one from MN)
4 no charge cos I am pg
5 the abcess had to be worked it was a serious little bugger
6 I cannot have antibiotics for the infection and I might get more

so I leave dentists with numb mouth and call DH to be collected we pop to shops and by the time we reach shop number 3 DH has had enough and stays in car! He never learns he sends a numb faced pg hormonal peckish woman who feels a bit dizzy into Sainsbos to buy a loaf and crispbread. An eon later I emerge with trolley load of treats and extras!!

Is there anything else I need to be warned about linked to this pg?? Maybe best no one tells me on second thoughts . . .

Rant over x

BeeMyBaby · 20/04/2011 07:01

LittleBlueBoat whats your new EDD so the stats can be updated?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 07:10

Morning everyone.

Adelle that's shocking about your trip to the dentist. Hopefully your not in too much pain with it.

Slept on and off last night, so tired now. Don't really have any other symptoms yet. Although test I done yesterday proves somethings going on as came up pregnant 2-3 whereas last week pregnant 1-2.

Booking in with the GP today so that should be interesting, given that I want to go to the birthing centre and NOT the hospital.

DD will be coming along with me to work today so that should be fun lol

adalle · 20/04/2011 08:13

Darciesmum ... in a little pain but I'm told I can use Bonjela and paracetomol so fingers crossed it clears up and I don't end up plagued by abcesses. My spot counts up too darn those raging hormones.

I was very tempted to do pg test every week just to see the words say more weeks! Still waiting for my first ante natal appointment and asked DH which appointments he will come to. He wasn't sure.

Can peeps recommend which appointments I drag him to which he shouldn't miss?
