HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Anyone else really awake in the evening? I feel a bit of a fraud as in the evning I seem to have more energy that I had pre-PG!! DH v confused!!

BlueCrane · 20/04/2011 08:40

PS darcies hope all goes well today!

kat2504 · 20/04/2011 08:48

Awake in the evening??! I was in bed at half nine yesterday!

LittleBlueBoat · 20/04/2011 08:50

Morning everyone

Darcies good luck Smile

Bee my EED is 11th December Grin

When i was pg the 1st time midwife told me not to do any lifting so dont carry shopping, push full trolly, pick up henry the hoover, dont lift anything heavy and dont lift washing when wet.

So now i have a 2 yo i'm picking up, i need to hover to clean up after him, i need to do the washing or we will not have any clothes to wear.

Should i be worried? Is anyone else doing all this?

LittleBlueBoat · 20/04/2011 08:53

Also is anyone thinking about getting a cleaner?

Disclaimer my husband is disabled and works so the house and childcare is all down to me.

florizella · 20/04/2011 09:13

Morning all! Am feeling like celebrating, as have got to 6wks, still have boobs like sore melons, nausea and general knackeredness, so all's good! (touch wood) My scan is next week though..

LittleBlueBoat if you can afford it go for it.. the less you have to worry about the better!

Adalle what an annoying time at the dentist! Still at least it's free eh? May be I should go for a check up, haven't been since.. um possibly 1995?

Good Luck Darcie fingers (and other bits) crossed for you.

Tjuice · 20/04/2011 09:14

hello all

well, i am at at my parents lolling around while they spoil my DD but feeling so sicky all the time, its really annoying me. I'm nervous about going back to work next week, can see meetings and presentations being booked in so long days at work and my DH is going off to barcelona for his very first away on his own break so long evenings on my own too.

but its nice being in the UK - weather here is better than scandinavia.

I went to Mamas and Papas to get some maternity jeans yesterday (don't need them yet, but am planning ahead;). There were 4 shop assistants, all hanging out behind the counter in an empty shop, meanwhile I wanted to change a size and nobody to help me, so had to get re-dressed and shuffle out to the shop floor again. But rather then say something I just stewed on it to myself in a passive-aggressive way. Need to learn how to complain a little better. Some people seem to do it for sport!

@littleblueboat - I have a cleaner once a week now - we both work full-time and weekends feel so short, neither of us want to clean then. I guess i may have to do less hours when we have two kids to pick up but we will need even more earning power then...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 09:30

Thanks Ladies.

I wonder if I should take a urine sample with me?!

Adelle DP will be with me at the first midwife booking appt, all scans and the ones nearer the birth but thats about it. I done it all on my own the first time so is nice to have him there for all the important ones :)

florizella · 20/04/2011 09:32

Hi there Tjuice are you from scandinavia? or do you work there sometimes? At the moment they are saying the weather here is better than the mediterranean! I also have no idea how I'll cope with work next week, but I guess we'll all rise to the occasion!

muskver · 20/04/2011 09:35

Can anyone give me any advice? I'm waiting to hear from the antenatal unit - they have a self-referral set up where you email them a form. They say on the website they aim to get back to all women within one week, but 2 weeks later and I haven't heard anything... so I phoned up, they can't see my form, but say normally I shouldn't expect to hear anything from them until about 11-15 weeks pregnant. That doesn't sound that normal to me but as it's my 1st pregnancy I'm not really sure of what to expect. I asked if I could speak to a midwife anyway and they said there weren't any today... (!)

I think I'll go crazy if I have to wait and see for for 11 weeks, but am I just being neurotic? Should I try with a unit at another hospital or see what my GP says...? Anyone else had a similar experience?

Thank you!!!

xstitch · 20/04/2011 09:35

adalle its not completely true that you can't get fillings when pregnant. Its just that they cannot use the type they usually do and have to apply somewhere to get the alternative. I would push for it if you are in pain. Toothache is worse than labour any day.

DP works away so is going to miss most appointments :(. He is trying to save up leave and curry favour for time off in December when they are not allowed time off.

Spoke to MW this morning because I was freaking out about the pains in my groin. She was very understanding about my neurosis.

xstitch · 20/04/2011 09:37

I think every region is different muskver Here they like to see you as early as possible so that they have given you a lot of advice before your scan at 11/12 weeks. Thankfully because like you I am a worrier.

muskver · 20/04/2011 09:44

Thanks xstich... I wish that was my hospital's approach too! In fact I had to choose between two units originally and the reason I went for this one was because my GP said they did like to see you early... I'm a bit worried my form has been lost somewhere and I won't find out for ages. I've sent it again!

adalle · 20/04/2011 10:55

xstitch yesh I know if it was a new filling no probs but it involves replacing an old metal one and they won't work on metal whilst you are pg luckily not much pain I think the abcess was causing it over the weekend. If pain gets bad I can go back and get more help and my teeth / gums are going to be monitored from now so it's very lucky it's free now!

All my pee tests were normal this morning so I was chuffed. And my pains have subsided for now.

Darciesmum... thx I don't want to bore DH too early and he says he wants to wait for me to have passed early dangers i am guessing before emotionally getting involved.

What I refer to as 'the tadpole' he joking called 'the toad' and I have a feeling that is going to stick!!

Jan9ne · 20/04/2011 11:05

xstitch i'm with you re toothache being worse than labour. I have a back tooth that needs root canal work. The pain when it flares up is indescribable. I took so many painkillers last time that my gp freaked out and phoned the toxicology unit at the hospital. They told her i hadn't OD but she gave me a right lecture. I told her i was ready to cut my own head off the pain was so bad.

My dentist has attempted to start the root canal work twice but each time the injections fail to numb the gum and tooth area. Very weird. She says i must have strange nerve endings but i already have a filling in the offending tooth from about ten years ago so it numbed perfectly well then. Touch wood it's bearable at the moment but i am very worried.

My teeth really played up during my last pregnancy. When i get my NHS maternity card that entitles me to free dentistry i am going to see her for a check-up and to discuss options if it flares up again. If nec they will have to knock me out at the hosp and remove the tooth. However can you have a general if pg? Probably not...

As for symptoms i am still a bit concerned about lack of them, that i may have had a missed m/c etc. Last pg i had already m/c by this point and with my ectopic pain and bleeding kicked in about now.

I am certainly feeling bloated today and my belly is protruding more.

I read that your uterus when not pg is the size of a clenched fist and at 6/7 weeks is the size of a grapefruit. So, there you go if you're interested.

Can't wait to be scanned, also dreading it but at least i will know one way or the other...

BlueCrane · 20/04/2011 11:10

Grin at the toad adalle we have been calling it lentil after reading that was how big it would be...but may need to upgrade to 'blueberry' at the weekend when I reach 7 weeks!! Smile DH going to come to booking in app and 12 week scan - providing I can get appointments to fit in with his shifts as he doesn't have much leave left! xstitch DH will also have issues with paternity leave over Christmas as they all have to bid for their shifts over Christmas and not normally allowed any annual leave at that time!

BlueCrane · 20/04/2011 11:12

PS feeling rather 'normal' today so a little concerned about lack of symptoms...sure it's fine but will still be happier when we've heard the heartbeat and got to the scan!!

HoneyLovesCake · 20/04/2011 11:19

Ugh...I feel awful today; if I didn't have a ton of work to do I would go back to bed. Soooo hard to motivate yourself when you work from home :(

adalle I really feel for you; hope your abcess is gone soon; I have braces which are usually no trouble but since I got pregnant I've had a ton of ulcers as my mouth is more sensitive...I only hope this is a bad as it gets!

pixie04 · 20/04/2011 11:19

Jan9ne dentist told my anaesthetic is out of question for my crown work. A few months ago I had an ear infection that gave me tooth ache in all my teeth so I too would have cut off head and was popping painkillers like sweets. Something to do with nerves in face. It was agony.

I am still losing weight I had a lot to lose and my fear is I will get to first scan and there will be too much lard in the way to find the tadpole!

bluecrane same here felt way too normal on Saturday and boobs stopped aching panic panic that's why in a perverse way the gum abcess thing has pleased me - it must mean I am still up the duff! Hurray for gum infections NEVER thought I would say that!

Felicific · 20/04/2011 11:46

Welcome Pixie and congratulations! How are you feeling? :)

adalle · 20/04/2011 12:14

Congrats pixie04

littleblueboat I would love a cleaner but I would have to blitz the house before I got one and that could take 9 months!! I am worried about any home visits the MW will make already. We have been spring cleaning after building work and it's a mammoth task.

Yipee got my first appointment 12 May got to check DH is available thou.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 12:26

LOL @ the toad.

This one is named Merlin Grin

BlueCrane · 20/04/2011 12:30

Congrats pixie another Christmas bundle!!

adalle glad you've got your app come through...I only saw doc yesterday but desperate for MW to call so I can get my booking in app booked...they said I should get to hear the heartbeat at that which would just be amazing!! I asked DH whether I can tell my Mum once we've heard the heartbeat but he said he still thinks we should wait til 12 weeks Sad really tough not telling Mum...I do understand his point but I just feel odd chatting to her and trying to avoid the subject as she knows we're TTC! Hope your teeth feel better soon...I've just booked a dentist app after reading your earlier post and realising how sore my gums are...might but some mouthwash anyway!

LittleBlueBoat · 20/04/2011 12:45

Welcome pixie Grin

Adalle i'm very over weight my BMI is in the 40's, dont worry about the scan everything will work just the same, trust me i know Grin

I'm on reshape healthy eating but i find it so hard as i'm funny with food since pg and i have ms so somethings i just cant stand the smell of some foods. Its so hard. I was told that i'm only ment to put a stone on during whole pgcy Shock i think i will lose more weight once ms kicks in between week 7 and 16 like last time. Its strange i have cravings for salad, orange, apple, cucumber and oinions - i was never fussed about them before Grin

I think we will be getting a cleaner as it will stop me stressing so much. DH off for 11 days so its his job to tidy up ready for the cleaner to start in May Grin
