HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Hi crazy

I've got a 1st December due date too from the Mumsnet calculator - my AF was due today but I have a 27 day cycle so maybe the doctor will give me a 30th November due date - not sure yet.

Is this your first? It's my third - eek!

What were your symptoms? I had really sore boobs all last week so tested last Friday and Saturday and got my BFP then

Keeping it all a big secret now for at least another week or two before we see our parents

Iggly · 23/03/2011 16:00

Hello! Can I join? Got several BFPs as in denial. AF due tomo but another BFP this morning says otherwise Grin

Due 2 Dec. This is number 2, had a MC last nov so very nervous :)

Crazybit · 23/03/2011 22:25

Woohoo Hi you two :)

It's my third, 2 DDs so far :)

Symptoms are tiredness and boobs killing me. Keep falling asleep at tea time. My lines are very faint or non existent at the moment and sat here with OH and still not told him. Keep hinting, but he's either really distracted tonight or he's playing me. Here's hoping we have 3 little stickies :)

Grin Crazy are you going to test again Wink

I've told DH and we are only letting ourselves get a little excited. Then if we get to the weekend then a bit more excited... Etc etc!

I've not got many symptoms - nausea on and off, tired but that's probably DS going through the 18 month sleep regression Few cramps occasionally and that's it.

LondonGirly · 24/03/2011 17:39

Hello Ladies,

Can I join you? Iggy I'm in a similar situation to you, have had a few BFPs and am going to do another test at the weekend. So think it is time to start getting excited.

I think I will have a 6th December due date. This is our first, all a little surreal at the moment!

Symptoms wise, I have been feeling a little bit of nausea, but nothing too bad (get ready to remind me of this when the morning sickness hits properly!) and am tired, but that might be more work than anything else!

Iggly · 24/03/2011 19:10

Hi London! I remember not believing it with DS until I had the scan - was in shock seeing him for the first time at 12 weeks Grin

Shelbury · 24/03/2011 21:34

Hi ladies,
Sorry I haven't been around, busy with work.

Welcome Iggly and London!

Crazy I have two girls too - mine are 6 and 4 - how about you?

My boobs are going a bit crazy today, really veiny, and I'm starting to get quite nauseous.

Will check in again over the weekend x

LondonGirly · 25/03/2011 13:47

Do any of you have any recommendations on pregnancy books? It being our first, I wanted to find out more info and will no doubt end up completely scaring myself!!

The hormones seem to be starting to hit, I was almost in tears today at work, oh well!

How are you all?

Looks like there are some more BFPs from the December bus, so there should be
more people along soon.

Iggly · 25/03/2011 13:49

Hi Shel!

Oh no LG - it's hard when the hormones are out of control and make you weepy. Re books I had a great one called the pregnancy bible - lent it to SIL though. Also what to expect when you're expecting was good too.

Shelbury · 26/03/2011 07:40

Morning girls, just checking in on my mobile while sitting in bed with a cup of tea - I'm enjoying it as it seems to be the only one I fancy every day.

All's well here except I'm having trouble sleeping all the way through the night, needing to wee a lot and just finding it really hard to relax my mind enough to get back to sleep - anyone else?

LG my bible has been 'Expecting. Everything you need to know about pregnancy, labour and birth' by Anna McGrail & Daphne Metland. It's a great technical one covering loads of different ailments etc. For a bit of fun The Rough Guide to Ptegnancy by Kaz Cooke is very funny x

Iggly · 26/03/2011 12:22

Hiya! I'm tired but because DS is waking at night still Shel, I don't know if I'd have undisturbed sleep. I feel mildly nauseous but not as bad as with DS. although sickness, I think, kicked in properly a few more weeks in. Can't remember!

Bess12 · 26/03/2011 15:33

Hello everyone. I'm due 1st December according to due date calculator. 1 dd (2). Not many symptoms but didn't really have any with my dd.

Congratulations everyone!

Looking forward to sharing the journey! :)

LondonGirly · 26/03/2011 19:55

Welcome Bess!

I went shopping today and ended up getting the what to expect when you are expecting book. I like how it tells you what is happening each week.

Hope you are all having good weekends.

Iggly · 26/03/2011 20:02

Welcome and congratulations Bess!

Good choice LG Wink although I found myself reading ahead, impatient that it was going too slowly Grin

Today I took out the gina ford book on having a baby and toddler (DS will be 2 when this one arrives). I didn't follow her routine for DS so I don't know why I got it out from the library - 70 pages in it has scared me!!

Shelbury · 27/03/2011 14:03

Iggly Don't do the Gina Ford thing!!! My dh threatened to burn her books when DD1 was a few weeks as he kept finding me in floods of tears at what a terrible mum i was as she wasn't sleeping 4hrs at a time!

Welcome Bess - another one of us who already has DD's - I wonder if we'll all have another one... I'm convinced ours will be DD3, wouldn't know what to do with a boy...

Iggly · 27/03/2011 14:08

Shel oh we were the same - except I was the one wanting to get rid of it. We kept saying "why is DS doing x/y/z?". BUT it was helpful when he was 4/5 months and wouldn't settle in the evenings - we used the timings for the afternoon nap and bedtime which worked really well. Also when he got older (6 months), the nap times worked naturally. So I was just looking for ideas really - not for rules Grin

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 28/03/2011 10:19

Can I join in please? Ttc number 2 since June, DH travelling to America for weeks at a time over the last 9 months meant I'd kind of forgotten about it! Periods have also been really sporadic but I've been knackered the last week so thought I may as well do a test....last night. Promptly forgot about it, made dinner and settled in front of cone dine with me, remembered test 20minslater and a fat BFP! Then panicked it was an evaporation line so called DH to pick up more tests on his way home from the pub (it was his birthday so he stayed out with our friends when i took ds home). One more test last night and another this morning.....due date 3rd December according to the calculators.

Really didn't want a December baby but now obviously don't care at all!

Morning everyone - can I join in please?

I got my BFP and am expecting DC 2 on 8th December should all go well. I'm a bit ancient though (40) so keeping everything very crossed that everything is still in working order!

MouseyHair I think we had the same night last night - I did a test then went off and did DD bath, then had dinner - completely forget about the test. When I finally remembered to check I was expecting BFN but nearly fell over when I saw a pink line!

Iggly I have a 19 month old so completely sympathise on the tiredness - frankly I have no idea how we managed a BFP given we only found the energery for one SWI this month ;-)

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 28/03/2011 12:57

weird isn't it? I'm already really worried it won't be treated in quite the same special way because it's my 2nd and everyone will just think "oh here we go again". But called my midwife last time who's booked me in and squealed in delight!

Shall we start a roll call?

Girlwiththemouseyhair DC2 Due 3rd December

ThePippy · 28/03/2011 13:00

I am totally expecting less "excitement" from people this time, and I think I might keep it quiet for longer - although I do like a few glasses of vino so as soon as people see me not drinking they will guess I think!

I agree, about time this thread had a role call...

Girlwiththemouseyhair DC2 Due 3rd December
ThePippy DC2 Due 8th December

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 28/03/2011 13:06

I keep thinking maybe I'll tell everyone sooner - but then a few of my friends had unsuccessful 2nd pregnancies after easy 1st's so I'm more aware of tempting fate this time round than I think I would have been. Usual family will know but I'll tell my mum group as I know they'll be excited for me! And also if I need anyone around me in case it doesn't stick then they are the ones I want.

pippy - is your dc a boy or girl?

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 28/03/2011 13:07

just called my midwife from last night who has squealed and booked me in for my first appointment, yay!!
