HI everyone, I know it is very early but I got a very faint positve line this morning, and another at lunch, and another at tea time! Was not due AF till Thurs but was meant to be going for a proceedure that involved radiation tomorrow so needed to do checks and here I am, and there I will not be! I have already got 2 and not told OH yet but need to tell somebody! Anyone else yet?

Hey Mousey - you can't leave this thread, you belong here now!

I was so lucky with DD and had 1 morning where I felt really sick and had to sit on the bed to compose myself, and that was it!! The only thing I really had was I completely went off fish and wasn't keen on meat, then I had a bit of SPD in the last few months.

I have told nobody yet (other than you guys) not even DH!! I was planning to do a shiney CB Digi test on friday morning as he is working at home that day and we would have time to talk about it (normally has to rush out by 7.15am), but I am going nuts not being able to talk about it so I might just show him the CB crosshair test tonight and save the digi for next week when it will say 2-3 weeks. Not sure how he will react - he knew we were possibly going to get PG and he knew I was temping to get a better idea of cycle, but he didn't quite realise how much I was obsessing about the whole thing and given the infrequency of SWI and my age I think he will be stunned that it has happened already.

Hi all,

Yes i am pregnant! I must have said that quietly to myself 45 million times today! I am so happy. This is my first. From the age 16 i was told i prob couldnt have children naturally because of endometriosis! So this is SO unexpected!

I am a teacher so i am so worried about morning sickness. I mean it's not like i can just run out of the room! Oh well, cross the bridge i guess!

My back has been a bit sore too Mousey! So it's not just me!

Sorry for all the !'s i am just so so happy.

My DH knows, he has been just as invested as me! But noone else, except you guys! So glad to have some lovely people to share this all with.

Iggly · 30/03/2011 15:57

Hi everyone! Pippy I can't believe you haven't told DH yet Grin let us know what he says. I told DH when we were sat playing with DS (when my tests showed a faint positive). When I got a darker line I left it out for him and he got very excited. We've been taking it slowly, not gettig our hopes up yet but I really want to.

Someone mentioned twins - we have twins on my mums side (her uncles) but as I didn't ever meet them as they were very old when I was born, no idea if identical. I don't think mum knows either. I think non identical twins passes down the mums line. I also secretly want twins as it would mean we'd have three DCS (DH only wants two).

I haven't thought about going to the docs yet - was thinking maybe at 6 weeks. Have downloaded an app onto my phone which says I'm only 4 weeks. This is going to go sloooooowly methinks Grin

Iggly · 30/03/2011 15:58

Congratulations Laura! you must be on cloud 9 :)

ThunderboltKid yes I am in London, still debating which hospital. I am in between Lewisham and QEII in Woolwich, but have read some not so great reviews on both. I really need to work that out before the appointment.

I also have cats, who are trying to wake me up an hour earlier than the alarm clock at the moment, which is definitely not appreciated when I am feeling so tired all the time.

Laura I'm a teacher as well - I know exactly what you mean. It has been bad enough with needing the loo so much!!

I've gone with the Baby Centre app as well - I like the update on what is happening and I've also been reading the What to expect when you are expecting book.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 30/03/2011 17:48

aw laura you sound so excited, has made me excited again!!

I don't know anything about QEII or Lewisham Hospitals, all my streatham mums have gone with Tommies (I did too but homebirthed so only went there for scans), but St George's is supposed to be great now they have the home from home - thunderbolt didn't you say you were going to ST G's?

Anyone else homebirthing?

Iggly · 30/03/2011 19:45

Hi Thunder yes that's the one I've got. With DS I had a better one but paid for it (and since deleted!). Can't remember the name though but it was great with actual pics from scans so you could see what baby would look like.

It sounds like there are loads of London mums here! My nearest hospitals are lewisham and the pruh. There's loads of time to decide though.

I'm swinging back to a homebirth Girl. I watched one born every minute and thought I couldn'tdo it in a hospital.

ThePippy · 31/03/2011 09:26

Morning all, and big congrats laura

So I told DH last night and he spent a good hour flipping from OMG and a huge grin. As I expected he was stunned that it had happened, and being Mr practical he started worrying about all sorts of things like money, newborn + toddler etc, but he was pretty pleased with the whole thing.

Right, now I want to stand on my desk at work and shout "I'm pregnant" to everyone. Must control myself. I have no idea how I will make it to 12 weeks without telling people.

I am feeling exhausted today and have had a splitting headache which I have had for 2 days now (is that a symptom?) but I only have neurofen in my drawer so I can't take anything until I can make it to the chemist. Not helped by DD waking screaming at 3am because of a bad dream!

Hope everyone is well today.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 31/03/2011 09:57

Morning! Yay to finally telling DH Pippy, I'm very impressed at you keeping it a secret for so long! I think I've probably told quite a few people now, whoops! Had dinner with my streatham mums last night, so now all but one know, and it's so lovely because there are just two of us left to fall pregnant. One is giving birth in June so is handing me down all the maternity wear she's just been handed down by another who gave birth 3 weeks ago....don't know what I'd do without them all sometimes.

Iggly do it do it! I feel like that whenever I watch OBEM, to be honest probably because I don't really like hospitals anyway then I think back to my lovely homebirth, look at those sterilised horrid rooms with people coming and going and get weepy at the thought of having to do that! Have you seen homebirth.org? Brilliant website with loads of varieties of research (including homebirth stories that ended up in hospitals for various reasons)

I reckon you just have to go with where you feel safest

Hello all,
Can I join (nervously). Tested positive yesterday, going to the doctors next Wednesday for confirmation (and i have underactive thyroid)
Think I'll be due around the 10th Dec.
Smile

Earwiggo · 31/03/2011 10:23

Congrats happytree, is this your first? There's a list further up if you want to add yourself.

I've started with ms, don't remember it being this early last time round, hey ho. Trouble is I seem to want to eat something when I feel sick so I'll be the size of a house if it keeps up.

happytree · 31/03/2011 10:41

This is my second. DS will be one next wednesday! Bit nervous about a 20month age gap.
Got ms at about 6/7 weeks last time, and it was whilst I was away on holiday so only got BFP at 9 weeks which was great as we didn't have to wait long to tell everyone. I think I'm about 4 weeks at the mo. and again, I just knew I was because of ms, but it took a few BFNs before tests picked up BFP yesterday.
A bit in shock and paranoid about every little twinge. I find the first trimester nerve wracking!
Smile
I know what you mean about eating Earwiggo, I'm eating fab ice lollies at the mo when I start to feel queasy! Grin
Congratuations everyone!

georgie87 · 31/03/2011 10:42

Hello

I tested last Saturday and got a negative, I tested Tuesday and Wednesday and its positive, althoughTuesday's was really faint but def a line! I'm going to see my doctor tonight, I am just finding it hard to believe if that makes any sense! lol Although I feel pregnant! Boobs are killing, feel pretty crazy - although I just feel like I'm about to come on my period as I keep getting slight aches!! Strange. It has taken us three weeks after I came off the copper coil - its my first, feel both excited and scared, one minute im like 'yay' and then im like 'omg how can we afford this!!' etc :) Thanks for reading. Good luck to everyone xxx

georgie87 · 31/03/2011 10:46

I'm 10th Decish too i thinK!!

FRowlands · 31/03/2011 11:33

Hi All,

I'm due a little earlier than you lot, 14th November. These weeks coming up to the 12 week scan are going so alowly, just wanna know all is ok!!

I kept getting those faint lines so went and bought a digital test - just tells you straight!!

Congrats to all !! :)

happytree · 31/03/2011 11:50

I've been wondering whether to buy one of those FRowlands I've had three faint, (but getting slightly darker IYSWIM) over last few days. Yesterdays was there enough or me to tell DH as I knew my eyes weren't deceiving me. Today I did another, but with a hight HGC freshlod I think, and another, faint but definately there line.
Part of me thinks, a line is a line, part of me is terrified and just wants it to be a really dark solid line!

Iggly · 31/03/2011 12:12

Welcome newbies! The list grows longer!

Thunder I'm thinking about going private for an early scan but they're expensive! Where would you go?

Girl I think I read that website inside out with DS Grin I have small fibroids so the NHS said no homebirth. Hence reading loads!

Congrats and welcome new Dec BFPs!

thunderbolt I reckon those stairs will at least keep you fit during pregnancy, though don't envy you the 4 floors! I gave birth in a rented 1st floor flat, just didn't dare do the pool bit but otherwise fine (though granted you have 3 extra floors than me!)....you must be quite close to me to be resgistered at St George's? I'm Streatham/Furzedown

happytree nowt wrong with getting one of those digi tests, pennies in the grand scheme of things to set your mind straight (though a line is a line is a line Grin )

I'm quite jealous of you all having early scans, am a bit tempted to to St George's where they let you do a walk in dating scan, am uber paranoid I'm not pregnant or that it's not going to plan (to the point of buying more tests today, ridiculous)...I don't remember being this paranoid the first time, but then I had a dating scan 5 days after BFP then only had to wait 3 weeks til the nuchal scan.

Also had a dream featuring me in my bygone days of hedonism which made me wake up with a vaguely sick feeling - the thoughest thing I've found about motherhood so far is my loss of identity and loss of my old life, especially being fairly young so only now my same-age friends are even thinking about children, let alone having them. Then I spent an hour cuddling my son on the sofa blowing bubbles which made those thoughts banished again for a little while at least.

Sorry for everyone getting ms already, bugger - reminded me, folic acid!! Have been rubbish remembering to take it so far. And must get some argan oil, managed to get away with no stretch marks last time, taking no chances this time!

happytree · 31/03/2011 13:34

humm, might go get a digi test.
Where is St Georges? Are the early scans only done privately? I had a dating scan done almost immediately last time as it was such a long time since my last period and i no idea how far i was.
The idea of waiting 6 weeks + is forever!
