Is my refusal to do absolutely anything a sign that I'm laid back or in denial?

Glad your pains eased 3K - was wondering how you were last night.

Helen - are you taking any iron? I know I keep harping on, but it really does make me less tearful.

All fine here today - much less heartburn last night, but I do have a nice cold now instead . Snotty nose and slimey mouth!

3k · 23/11/2005 11:35

Thanks Flame xx

Helen38 · 23/11/2005 11:38

Funny you should ask that...... I was taking multivit with iron but ran out last week and keep forgetting to go get more, soooooo forgetful this week.
Just takenDS2 for preschool booster jabs, he was really brave think the smarties might of helped

hotmama1 · 23/11/2005 12:47

Afternoon girls. Re Raspberry leaf - I took the capsules last time as apparently the tea tastes horrible? My midwife advised me to build up slowly as RL can make braxton hicks really painful - I found that it did so never went to 3 capsules a day - stayed on 1.

Agree re maternity pants - I never wore the ones I bought just used my old ones and chucked any that got too icky. I found that I swelled so much after birth that the maternity pants were too uncomfortable.

Re maternity pads - at the beginning I put two on as one wasn't enough - they are all much of a muchness - I generally used Boots/Mothercare and Sainsbury's ones.

DD1 did a few more steps last night - she is on her way to walking - looking forward to getting her sparkly new shoes - but only when she is walking properly.

Morgan · 23/11/2005 12:59

Hi all, I'm very forgetful too this week! Primark is great for big nightdresses etc - i got a couple last time with buttons down the front which were good for breastfeeding and have been sent to Dubai to be used again. Remember it is always hot in the hospital so summery ones are fine.

3k · 23/11/2005 14:04

I bought cotton ones from Primark and a cotton dressing gown too which was only a fiver, great for hospital. Will pop in on Friday on my day off and get some lovely big stretchy knickers!! SEXY!!!!!

Chloe55 · 23/11/2005 14:06

Ok girls I need some advice, please tell me this is normal:

I have been having BH for about 2 weeks now on and off, today I have had a tightening across my stomach since I woke up and everytime I stand up from my chair it is painful (a bit like bad constipation but I have been to the toilet this morning and it was normal) I have also had stomach cramps since Monday but I put this down to the lunch I ate on Sunday. On top of this my lower back is constantly aching like it used to when I was premenstrual. And at lunch time today (sorry if TMI) I produced a fair amount of creamy coloured watery discharge. Please tell me this is normal.

Jasnem · 23/11/2005 14:12

Chloe - I think you should call you midwife and get it checked out. It may well be normal, but I think you should actually see her and get her to examine you to be sure.

This discharge - how much was there, and exactly how watery?

Don't want to make you worry more but call and leave her a message, Please.

Best wishes xxx

Chloe55 · 23/11/2005 14:12

Just read this back - you're gonna tell me to ring the midwife aren't you?

Jasnem · 23/11/2005 14:13

Glad to see you're still there. Of course we are. Wouldn't you??

Chloe55 · 23/11/2005 14:14

Knew you would . Discharge was just more than normal to the point that I actually felt it come out and it has made my knickers pretty wet - I'm so sorry to share this with you girls but we are all in the same boat I guess. I'll ring the midwife. Thanks Jasnem.

Jasnem · 23/11/2005 14:16

Let us know what she says.

Chloe55 · 23/11/2005 14:31

Right I've rung her, she wants me to go down but says that it might be normal but better to be safe than sorry - will keep you informed.

Jasnem · 23/11/2005 14:33

Good luck. {{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}

We will all be thinking of you.

3k · 23/11/2005 14:35

Good luck Chloe - you may have a slight infection.

janiewoo · 23/11/2005 14:41

Hello all, this is my first posting on mumsnet and am due on Feb 25th.
In the last few days I've noticed a pain in my pubic bone right at the front, and today after doing my usual pregnancy yoga it feels like I've been cycling for hours and it feels uncomftable when i walk, I was thinking this might be symphysis pubis????
Has anyone experienced this or knows what it might be? I would appreciate any advice!

Frizbe · 23/11/2005 15:11

Hi Janiewoo and welcome to the thread, sounds like things might just be looseing up for you now, I'm due two days after you and am starting to notice if for example I sit cross legged for more than 5 mins, I'm in pain

Chloe, glad you've called the midwife, hope all is ok, good luck

FS thanks for the tip, currently with holding the Disney Sing Along video until a poo is in the correct place, dd not very happy about this!

Helen, I'm no where near ready, just had a panic day! and brought a few things, that I know dh would be crap at finding with dd and ss in tow!

Jasnem, I used the raspberry leaf tea last time and found I had a fairly quick labour, so hoping that's what did it, and will try again this time!!

Lol at all the nice sexy nighties and pants being brought, bet we all look georgeous in them!

TheOriginalTicTac · 23/11/2005 15:17

Chloe - keep us posted!!!
Janiewoo - welcome, hope you can join us on here. I have SPD and the pain I have is similar but constant..speak to midwife though, it really could be all getting a bit loose

flamesparrow · 23/11/2005 15:34

Welcome Janiwoo

Hope you're doing ok Chloe. Not a lot from this end - just tired and feeling sorry for myself... I want a lemsip!!!

Helen38 · 23/11/2005 15:49

hi janiewoo,
I have SPD and does sound like it could be, bestadvice i can give is do do stuff with your knees together so as not to put strain on ligaments, try not to lift heavy stuff and see how it goes. A bath can be soothing, if it carries on or gets worse talk to mw next time you see her. Your yoga teacher should be able to show you how to adapt things a little to avoid putting too much strain on things.

Chloe hope all is well, guess you'll let us know when you've been.
Sorry to hear you're feeling grotty flame, you could have hot lemon and honey, not the same as a lemsip but comforting and tastes better

poppyh · 23/11/2005 16:16

Hi all,
have been posting in Marh but have been booked in now for section at end of feb, so am officially Feb now!!!
Chloe, hope all is ok with you.I'll check in later.
take care all.

ChaCha · 23/11/2005 16:29

ChaCha 39+4

janiewoo · 23/11/2005 16:58

thanks for the SPD advice, have just been to the doctor and he is referring me to physio (hows that for quick action!) and meanwhile i will pretend that there is this big elastic band round my knees.......

Helen38 · 23/11/2005 17:28

That's great, physio should give you very sexy stretchy belt, they do help. Hope you get to see them soon

Hope alls well chloe, I might not get back on here tonight will check tomorrow

cuffyj1 · 23/11/2005 19:00

Evening

You lot talk so much it's taking ages to read a days posts!!!

Can't believe ur already talking about packing ur hospital bags, the thought never even entered my head. I am so organised for the baby but not even given my bag a thought. I have bought cheap big nighties from primark tho.

Chloe - hope everything's ok, keep us posted!

Welcome janiewoo and poppyh

I haven't felt any braxton hicks yet is that normal at 30 wks cos everyone else seems to be getting them.

Flame - sorry ur feeling crap. I feel like i might have the beginnings of a cold.
