Oh no, I'm soprry to hear about your situations Flame and 3k. Glad you have a supportive hubby Flame, and 3k you should start a thread regarding your problem - somebody on this site is bound to know the full ins and outs about what an employer can/can't get away with and more importantly what you can do about it.

Very tired today, been up most the night with my back again, ho hum at least I have an easy day at work ahead of me (I hope).

cuffyj1 · 15/11/2005 09:24

Thanks frizbe got MatB1 form gave it to him yesterday but i don't think he really knew wot to do with it! Men!!! I'll read links when i've got a bit more time later.

4blue1pink · 15/11/2005 09:47

lol Flame - I feel like that when i have 'been' i tell dp with delight. Nowadays i seem to go and its ine tiny pebble ( tmi) hardly reason for celebtration!

Got my iron levels back they are 9.8 so i do need iron esp as i want home birth!

Might go to chemist and try to get liquid stuff as the runs is infinitely preferable to the never going scenario!

TheOriginalTicTac · 15/11/2005 10:44

Weetabix (2 biscuits)give you a third of your required iron intake naturally as they have added iron. Then with your veggies you can do it the natural way. Depends if that's what works for you.

No chance of MW getting bloods yesterday so will see if they have better luck on Friday. My HB levels where 13.3 on booking in and I was told by the midwife that was a good level...hope that's an indication for some of you (although I have no idea what it means!!)

teuch · 15/11/2005 12:14

re the Braxton Hicks (flame i think?) - I was getting them really strong a few weeks ago but they seem to have faded away...I was getting them particularly bad in the evenings, sometimes 2-3 an hour and so strong that I would hold my breath! Plus all the advice says they get stronger towards the end!!

Midwife response was 'great! everything is working then!'

Anyway, I still get them but they are much less uncomfortable (just a kind of tightening) and now I hardly notice them.

I also read that if you are dehydrated you are more prone to them...who knows!

3k · 15/11/2005 14:24

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for your messages regarding my boss. He completely blanked me this morning and I couldnt be bothered to talk to him. I wasnt sure whether to come in or not especially as he upset me so much yesterday but last night me and DH sat down and worked out all our finances and we should be ok so I thought that if he does start then I will leave and just claim my SMP but I'm hoping to stay til January as originally planned. As he went out he told us that when he sells the office will be in Croydon and he knows both myself and my colleague will not go with him but he doesnt care you could tell. We just chose not to speak to him and I will come in, do my job and go home and that is it!

Flame - hope your braxton hicks are calming, I dont think I have had any really. Had a few tightenings but they feel more lower down like the baby is moving in a circle so not sure if that is one or not! They are not too bad anyhow.

Off to Mothercare tonight to get some blankets for bubba - they have 10% off at the moment so thought I would make use of it. If you go and order on the website and quote E5N at the checkout you get it there too until 25th Nov.

thell · 15/11/2005 14:58

Just a quick one - I'm surrounded by boxes but still need to pack half the flat!
We're moving out tomorrow. We're getting a separate phone line at my in-laws' for hooking up to broadband, but not sure when it will be active. Could be tomorrow, could be a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, good luck 3K with your wanker of a boss.
What an unprofessional tosspot.

3k · 15/11/2005 15:13

Thanks Thell and good luck with your move
xxx

Chloe55 · 15/11/2005 15:20

I think you are taking the right attitude 3k, don't let him stress you out.

Good luck with the move and everything Thell, get back on here as soon as you are up and running again!

Tabs · 15/11/2005 17:26

Oh my word - I've done a 'proper' full day's work today .

Haven't really time to catch up now as have to help at slimming club tonight, but hope all are well and will try and catch up properly tomorrow.

xx

4blue1pink · 15/11/2005 17:49

Hi girls....soooo pissed off with doctors.Irang him and asked for something easier on constipation than ferrous sulphate he gave me some ferrous glucanate which the pharmacist then tells me not suitable for veggies unless they say......omg i could weep. i asked doc for liquid but he obviously thought the better of it.....why cant they just think. Heaid my iron was 'surprisingly low" which is an interesting turn of phrase. in the meanwhile i remain iron less.

i try to eat tonnes of veg but i think being non meat eater means than iron from veg much more difficult to absorb even with vit c
.a consultant once told me it would be near impossible to eat amount of green veg needed to raise an maintain anaemia levels. bloody hell felt like crap and just stuffed loads of choc to make myself feel better .....hey ho!

Jasnem · 15/11/2005 18:51

plain chocolate contains iron

All iron tablet are gelatine coated. It took me four days and three visits to my gp to find something I was prepared to take. I was vegan until my 1st pregnancy, and didn't get anaemic untilafter I had DD2 ( I lost alot of blood ). I am adding egg yolks to everything I can, and eating lots of fortified cereal and marmite in addition toall the green veg etc I have repeat tests next week, so I'm hoping for better results then.

Thell good luck with the move tomorrow.

Everyone who is having a cr*p time at work big hugs and I really hope all those rubbish bosses sort themselves out soon.

womba1 · 15/11/2005 19:09

Hi ladies,
how are you all doing? I've finally got my laptop up and running after several weeks out of action, but it still isn't performing properly! It's still hit and miss as to when it'll work but so far so good.

I have a quick query.... i have my GTT at 9.15am Friday and haven't recieved any info about it. What must i eat or not eat before hand? Can i drink anything other than water etc..? I can't seem to remember what i had to do last time round so if anyone could fill me in, i'd greatly appreciate it.

I'll try and get on later this evening but i'll thank you in advance, just in case i can't get online!!

Bye for now, Womba x

flamesparrow · 15/11/2005 19:36

Only on quick - HUGE fire round here today, all the electric is out all over the place, so I'm at my mum's for the night

Midwife appointment went well. She wants to keep an eye on my aches and check on them again in 3 weeks - if they are still bad, I'm to see a physio.

Braxton hicks - she thinks its my body telling me to slow down (I don't do all that much though )... she said if they get stronger, or more frequent, to call the hospital.

Then she asked how I was feeling... I burst into tears!!! She is worried about me going into full depression, and again wants to keep an eye on me. She wants me to get one afternoon without DD during the week (hmmm, nice suggestion, but will be a tad harder in practice), so I get some time alone to rest. My mum has her on a Friday night sometimes, but she seemed to be saying that I need the alone daytime more (which is what I've been feeling - when she is gone overnight, I just sleep rather than appreciate it).

My blood pressure is up... again, she thought it was mood based.

Baby is fine - heartrate 140 (normally a girly level).

She said that the pregnancy itself is good, it is just me she has concerns for

cuffyj1 · 15/11/2005 19:44

Hi womba1

you can't eat or drink anything except water from 11pm night before.

Frizbe · 15/11/2005 20:02

FS, {{{Hugs}}} Do you have a friend who could take dd for the afternoon, or another family member?
Thell good luck with the move.

womba1 · 15/11/2005 20:19

Thanks Cuffy..... how the hell i'm going to get through the night without my usual 3 pints of milk, is anyones guess! It's the only thing that combats the heartburn.
Thanks again

Helen38 · 15/11/2005 21:31

Hi, you all seem very friendly so I'm hoping you won't mind if I just barge in and join you for a bit. I am due 27th feb - baby no3. Gather some of you are suffering with SPD, haven't read much of the thread as is really long but as I have had this with all 3 pg kind of know a bit about it....... hurts like hell for a start. Have any of you been refered to physio? if not give your MW a shove, they should give you a very attractive support belt which does help. Plus they can give you loads of helpfull tips on what to do/not to do. Hope that's helpfull

Frizbe · 15/11/2005 21:41

Hi Helen38 and welcome, your due the same day as me hey girls, I have a bump buddy!!

hotmama1 · 15/11/2005 21:50

Hi Helen38 - congrats on a 3rd pregnancy. I'm still waiting for my hosp appt - am going to ring if I haven't heard anything by the end of the week - when I will be 30 weeks - not much point getting an appt when I'm 8 months etc.

Got some news which will scare the s**t out of you all. I know someone who was due mid-Jan and had an emergency c-section last week as she had an e-coli infection, anyway gave birth to 2 ds's and everyone is doing fine - better get my washing done of dd2's sleepsuits as I was due 2 weeks after her - makes you realise that they are all viable now.

Hope everyone is doing O.K.

Helen38 · 15/11/2005 21:58

I have a friend who had baby at 26 weeks earlier this year, which is scarey when you think that's next week for me now. Having lots of braxton hicks much earlier than last time, maybe I'm not drinking enough, trouble is tea and coffee taste foul when am pg, any of you the same and if so what do you drink? water is dull milk.... worse than tea, getting so bored of squash and lets just say that too much fruit juice gives me very much the opposite problem to some of you

hotmama1 · 15/11/2005 22:00

Red wine?

Helen38 · 15/11/2005 22:05

Prefer white dh complains as I keep offering to get him a beer so that I can have a very weak shandy and therefore steal some of it, they are so weak he claims I might as well have lemonade but I can taste it.... odd as I usualy not a beer fan.

hotmama1 · 15/11/2005 22:07

I am sooo with you on doing the weak shandy trick. I often get caught asking dp if he wants a Stella - just so I can nick some.

Helen38 · 15/11/2005 22:12

They should be glad that they have such kind women in their lives who are willing to get their beer for them. Bottled beer is a give away, is easier with a can as once is in a glass is harder to tell
