Am v happy Macker's kidneys are feeling better Grin Not so happy that Rocket's back is bad Sad I really hope it starts to ease up v v soon. Would love to have a hot bath with you ('hot' in more ways than one, hurhur), but I don't know if it'd work, because I can't get in unassisted any more and helping me in and out would not exactly work wonders for your back!

Thanks so much for everyone's loving thoughts. Womble pain less today. Geldof seems to have gone back to beating the living shit out of my bladder and cervix, so am wondering if he's actually moved out of the head-down position and the pain was him turning around again? Or maybe he's just using his little fists to pummel my bladder like a punchbag, drrrrrrrrrr

Re: weighing - my MW never does it but every time I see my consultant they weigh me. I tell them that I don't want to know what it is and could they not say it out loud, even under their breath. I know I was a bit overweight when I got pg so do not need to imagine myself waddling around with my own soundtrack, ie Nelly The Elephant, Big-Bottomed Girls, etc.

I gave up on iron tabs because they were making my headaches worse. Had stoopidly forgotten about Spatone. Am doing a large Amazon order today and they sell it, so have added a month's supply onto that.

I have lost my heart to a £185 changing bag! Obviously, I'm not going to buy it but... sigh... Mind keeps saying 'it's an investment piece! It looks like a classic handbag that'd look fab for years, even when you don't need a baby bag any more, blahblahblah' Confused

MadameBoo · 30/03/2011 14:49

Sticky black tar poo of doom? Sounds like first poo miniboo ever did (and MrBoo had to deal with, as I was still unable to walk at the time, now referred to as his baptism of fire :o>

LadyGoneGaga · 30/03/2011 15:07

Back from midwife. All boringly good as per Loz. She wouldn't measure me (they don't until 28 weeks 'parently) but says to tell the rude people to shut up as am where she would expect. Mentioned the pain but also mentioned going to a chiropractor at some point so think going to try that first. And they are going to fit me in for an extra appt before hols so I don't go too long!

Bag sounds nice Score but have never been able to justify expensive handbags full stop so not going start with a place to put shitty nappies in.

Sat at home now - drinking tea and eating Mini Eggs. Have a new fancy phone so going to have a play.

Casserole · 30/03/2011 16:19

Spatone doesn't bung you up. Iron tablets do. I speak from current experience

Salad how's your back?

Ivegotmrbitey · 30/03/2011 16:25

Is there a link to this handbag score? I am sticking with my freeone for now but do like a nice bag! Sadly for looking only, I think the most I have ever spent is £30.

Hope you can get some good advice from the chiros lady, lots of achey differs around here at the moment! Glad all was boring otherwise Smile

I am eating that lindt chocolate with sea salt in it, yum!

Scorpette · 30/03/2011 16:49

GG, that's the exact reason why I'm NOT going to buy the bag Grin I don't think I've ever spent more than £70 absolute maximum on a handbag before now, so why splash out on something that will be routinely drenched in poo, wee, vom, regurgitated food, etc? Also, The Lad might do those things on it too, hur hur

Scorpette · 30/03/2011 17:02

It's THIS ONE , Bitey. I saw it in JL - the picture doesn't do it justice. It's not just how fab and un-nappy bag it looks, it really has v clever, roomy compartments and all that shiz. But again - £185?! Will prolly just end up with a bag for life shoved in the underneath bit of the pram (Waitrose of course, dahlinks!) Grin

Think the Cath Kidston ones are supposed to be good and 'only' £60 (I quite like CK, but realise it's not everyone's cup of tea).

owlbooty · 30/03/2011 17:08

I don't see a problem with that; it's poo-brown to hide the fallout, what more can one ask for? Grin

I think this one is luffly but wince at spending over 50 quid on a bag as I am a tightarse. Especially a shit-coated bag.

Bites pliz to report back on the salty chocolate. I have not tried it and frankly the concept seems slightly alarming to me.

Ivegotmrbitey · 30/03/2011 17:22

It's lovely score, esp in purple! Always up for a bit of hand bag porn me Grin

I have heard suggestions to go for a gender neutral change bag so that dads don't feel quite so silly with them. While I scoffed at first I thought how annoying it would be if the FDH refused to go for solo outings because he felt silly with a flowery change bag.

Boots salty choc is delish! You can only really eat one square a day though as it is so chocolately. I bloody hate chilli chocolate though, that is all wrong.

macaroonmum · 30/03/2011 17:22

I wish H&M would do changing bags. I haven't ever spent more than ?25 on a bag . However the changing bag which came with our pram is a bit too small if you ask me so I might just have to investigate other, larger nicer ones. I saw a cool thing today though - A kind of mini-bag which fits on the handlebars of the pram. A bit like a pram version of a saddle bag, a bit like this.

LGG Good news on the boring check up! Have you been having BHs? i'm not sure if it's because of the vast quantities of water I've been drinking, but I have been having a few a day and they're weird! Never noticed them if I had them with no.1 so it's a bit odd. I was a bit worried at the beginning but my serious research googleing has put my mind at rest because it seems quite common early on in a second pregnancy.

Bitey Salty chocolate? I don't know about that. I am partial to choc with chili pepper in it though.

macaroonmum · 30/03/2011 17:23

Bitey I have this lovely hip-sling from when no1 was 6 months and it's dark brown with stylised flowers on it in multi-colours. Would DH ever use it. Would he f... Angry

macaroonmum · 30/03/2011 17:27

this is a nice cheapish bag too

LadyGoneGaga · 30/03/2011 18:12

DP can always use the free one from Boots while you have the bag you want?

Had no BH yet, Maroonie. I had them a lot last pregnancy but can't for the life of me remember when they started Hmm. No milk yet either (I've been squeezing to check). But body is having nice rest from lactating to guess I can't blame it for not getting round to it yet.

Mentioned homebirth to midwives today again and they seemed very enthusiastic which was good - I always expect a fight for some reason. The house we have been to look at that I really like would be perfect as has a nice big kitchen with hard floor, good size for a birth pool. But if we are still here will just have to go in dining room and try and not slosh on carpet too much.

Not sure what to do with MiniG when in labour. My friend who is first choice is away after my due date so fine if he/she comes early. I don't really want my ex showing up to get him! And my Mum is a panicker and not local so not sure I want her near me in labour. Maybe I'll just birth quietly in the night and MiniG will wake up to a new sister or brother . Or maybe MrG's Mum might come - she had 2 of her 3 at home.

Ocarina · 30/03/2011 18:13

As ever, I go away and BESHbabies are born. Many congratulations to Medee on your gorgeous wee one.

Scorps are you getting dizzy up there at the top of the not-list?!

I haven't properly caught up, but wanted to say I'm off to my first differs yoga in a bit. OK, my first ever yoga, differs or not. Which is most unlike me (I'm a lazy cow) and I'm a bit worried that I'm going to be very very rubbish at it. It's also going to be my first encounter with a group of other differs and I'm not sure how I feel about that either. Any advice from you yoga experts?

Scorpette · 30/03/2011 18:26

Everyone has excellent bag taste Grin One good thing about TYF being a dollydaydreamer is that I can ask him to hold my handbag and he'll happily wander about like Mr Humphries without a care in the world. But TBF, I'm not a very girly dresser/accessoriser (favour satchel-type bags, breton tops, that kinda jazz). THIS unisex one is v nice and virtually identical to my current handbag (which is nicer, with tan leather straps), although that was £25 from ASOS, not over £100! Actually, TYF also has a manbag that is v similar. Yes, manbag. He rocks!

BTW Excellent news on being so boring at the MW, GG. I dunno why people feel the need to comment on the size of preggos; do they think we're all under the illusion that we're prancing around in size 2 skinny jeans?!

Scorpette · 30/03/2011 18:27

Not as dizzy as you'll be after a good bitchslapping, Occers! Wink

owlbooty · 30/03/2011 18:40

I think it's because of people like bloody Victoria Beckham, Score , nobody knows what an actual real pregnant woman should look like.

Occy tis most odd meeting a bunch of other differs. I felt deeply fraudulent. But do not worry; yoga is easy enough to pick up even if you have not done it before and the best plan would be to just not overdo it at the first session (unlikely as it will all be geared towards not breaking you anyway).

GG excellent that your MWs are up for a HB - I also like the pool at home idea but am facing similar problems re. location of said pool as we're getting a wall knocked out and that hasn't happened yet. I shall be laying in the middle of a building site whilst builders look on nervously.

MaccyD that is indeed a top bag and could almost be described as unisex - perhaps if I got that Mr Boots would use it too. He is not really a bag/jewellery sort of person. He is not even a clean pair of socks every morning person if I'm being honest.

Also Macca I have had the Branstons and get the odd one in the morning. They are v.v.odd.

LadyGoneGaga · 30/03/2011 18:44

Occy differs yoga is very gentle although I did do some before but years ago. Some nice stretchiness and then some lying down breathing and relaxing. You'll feel nice and chilled afterwards. I'm going to Differs yoga tonight too. I normally do a Monday but couldn't this week as MrG been away. Have missed it!

Scorpette · 30/03/2011 19:09

Booty, I also think it's cos people dunno what to say to people when anything out of the ordinary occurs and they just turn to one of the pat comments everyone comes out with in that situation, ie commenting on preggos being huge, telling the heartbroken that there's plenty more fish, etc., etc. MEH.

But OOOOH! I am excited because TYF has brought home the changing station and a high chair (although, of course, won't be needing that just yet). It's v sturdy, stylish, in pristine condition, bar a few marks on the legs, and posher than we'd've been able to afford (M&P solid darkish pine, v nice). Think we'll replace the seat pad of the high chair, as has seen better days, but am so overawed at the generosity of 2 people I've never even met :) Will be sorting out a lovely pressie and thank-you card ASAP!

The changing mat I got from Mothercare is too big for the top, so I think we'll have to buy one of M&P's own more expensive mats, but it's horses for courses. My folks can have the big one for when we visit.

BTW, does anyone want that 10% off Mothercare code or wot?

Ariesgirl · 30/03/2011 19:26

Careful you don't relax so much you fart Occers. Though I have a feeling MrOccers would think that hilarious.

Medee · 30/03/2011 19:51
