Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
WuzzAndBuddy · 17/03/2011 20:52

Crikey Lizzy, thats a right conundrum isn't it!? Grin
Would definitely be quizzing your Dr for some peace of mind. Confused
Sorry I'm no help, you've stumped me!

Pipsbump · 17/03/2011 20:53

cep I will contact the ante natal clinic tomorrow to see if they have received the referral.

I am seven weeks exactly (I literally take each day as it comes). I've already decided that I'd like to have a private scan at around 9 weeks too (I know it will be around £90 but for my own peace of mind I think it will be worth it).

Thank you for the advice :)

chipmonkey I hope you have a better time of it tomorrow.

Lizzy, I would go and see the docs, I don't know what it could be, do you have any other pregnancy symptoms? Sometimes if you've gone so far in your pregnancy I think the tests can show a negative, but I might be wrong.

marthamay · 17/03/2011 20:53

Marking my spot.
Thanks for the new thread, much easier to get a handle on if you are a newbie!

Good luck to those with scans coming up - such a milestone. It's very exciting, don't be to nervous!

I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and then, if my bean is a sticky one, make an appointment with the Mw. I'm hoping for a home birth this time around I think.

CazandBelle · 17/03/2011 21:05

Ahhh I'm going to bite the bullet and say hello. I've been lurking for days watching the threads whiz along. No idea how I'm going to keep up with you all!

I'm Caz, I got my bfp a couple of weeks ago. This is baby #2. EDD around the 8th Nov. I have a reassurance scan on Tuesday so will know more accurately then. My DD (Belle) was born sleeping in June 2010. I'm incredibly scared about this pregnancy and how I don't get too neurotic as time goes on.

For just over 6 weeks I'm feeling enormous. I'm wondering if its because there is only 8 months between me giving birth and catching again, the body has just gone "ooo I remember this" and started to kapoosh out already. I'm quite rounded and none of my trousers are fitting me properly! With DD I was in maternity trousers at 10 weeks so its hardly surprising I suppose on #2 I'm getting big quick again! I don't know how I'm going to hide it much longer the rate we're going!

Other than that really knackered and feeling and being sick on and off.

lktoday5 · 17/03/2011 21:08

Hi all. One very happy lady here. Scan all good, dating at spot on 6+3 and I saw a really strong heartbeat :-) :-) can't tell u how relieved I am. Thanks for all your support.

LizzyMathsWhizzy · 17/03/2011 21:21

Yeah, plenty symptoms, and the test has gone from 2-3 weeks to 3+ weeks now, so I'm sure it is a real pregnancy, and is unlikely to be the one I miscarried, its just a bit weird! I'm puking every time anything smells dodgy, and I include OH in that when he came back from a works night out on Tuesday! When I miscarried the test took two days to go negative, it was faint the first day, even fainter the second and gone on the third. I did a test a week later because the doctor told me to and it was negative, so I'm sure that bean didn't stick, but I'm confused as to how I managed to catch so quickly! How do you get a scan privately?

TerrysNo2 · 17/03/2011 21:22

Yay Ik - so pleased to see HB.

Welcome panpipe congratulations (PS - I am imagining you wearing a frilled waistcoat!!) Grin

Lizzy welcome, that is a quick gap between MC and pregnancy, you must be very Smile - a lot of us on here have had previous MC's so you are not alone.

Caz welcome, congratulations on your pregnancy. So sorry about your daughter, I can't even imagine what you've been through and I'm not surprised you are nervous, but we are here to hold each others hands through it so welcome! PS - Belle is one of my top girls names, I love it!

Right, night all, bit more TV then bed, getting too tired!!

OP posts:
CazandBelle · 17/03/2011 21:33

terry thanks for welcome! I'm sure there will be lots of hand holding needed. Wasn't sure whether to join here or October seeing as I know I'll be induced at 37 weeks (which will be in Oct!) But as I felt more comfortable joining my actual due date group I went with November! :)

lktoday5 · 17/03/2011 21:45

Hi lizzy, I went to the London ultrasound centre privately. Not sure if that's anywhere near you but I can't recommend them highly enough

WuzzAndBuddy · 17/03/2011 22:13

Ugh, think DS might have chickenpox Sad
Don't know if I've got the energy to deal with it on my own....
Just going to go to bed tonight and see how he is in the morning.
If I've had chickenpox, will I be safe enough?
He's 3.7, how and why has he managed to get this far through his little life without it and then as soon as I'm pregnant it arrives!? Grrr...
Hoping that we'll get up in the morning and it'll be gone, just a heat rash, but I highly doubt it!

I'm really pleased for you LK, soooo glad its all been positive!

Welcome and congratulations Caz! So sorry to hear about your little girl, hope you settle into the board and just shout if you need some hand holding, there seems to always be someone around here most hours of the day!

chipmonkey · 17/03/2011 22:26

Welcome Caz, so very sorry to hear about your little girl.Sad Belle is a lovely name. I think you are right to join your "natural due date" group. I didn't on ds4 as my obs does my CS a week early and although I'm very glad I joined the group I did as they were a lovely, lovely bunch, I always found my symptoms were way behind theirs.

chipmonkey · 17/03/2011 22:27

Wuzz, are you immune from chicken pox? Have you had it yourself?

WuzzAndBuddy · 17/03/2011 22:30

Yes I had it when I was about 6 or 7, will that be enough?
Just too tired to trawl the web looking for an answer, will only end up scaring myself when I wander off track! Grin

Truff.... I did it! Just off to ask for my medal... will let you know what they say... Wink

Daiso · 18/03/2011 08:19

Morning all!! Happy Ffriday Smile

Thanks for the advice re vitamins - think i'll go for the Pregnacare or Santogen (i think!) as they both seem the same??

Felt sick most of days since last week but on and off and then this morning felt nothing so got a bit Confused but now i'm talking about it i feel sick again but could just be in my mind! Did anyone else's symtoms come and go? Need to try and remember to eat properly because i'm one of those only eat when i can be bothered ( unless it's haribo Grin)

How is everyone else doing?

dirgeinvegas · 18/03/2011 09:05

Morning everyone!

Welcome Caz I'm so sorry to hear about your DD.

Lizzy, the CBD saying you are 3+ could just mean that you ovulated 2 weeks after your mc and got pregnant straight away! I would ask your GP for a scan though, just to clarify one way or the other!

I feel like I have a bit of a pot belly but its probably to do with the 5 meals I day I'm eating. I feel terrible this morning, I had toast for breakfast which lead to instant heartburn so I think I should start skipping butter.

Not sure what to do with DD today, I just want to lie on the sofa, sip juice and watch crap on TV but there is no way I'm getting away with that. Maybe some fresh air will help?

Daiso I'm taking Sanatogen but only because it was on offer in Boots. I think they're all much the same.

LK fantastic news about your scan and seeing a heartbeat!

cep · 18/03/2011 09:34

morning all

lk yay for great scan results.

caz welcome and congratulations. sorry to hear about your daughter.

wuzz how' ds this morning?

ok well i had more blood this morning, still only after fmu though. it wasn't loads but was a redder colour. am starting to dread monday's scan.

marthamay · 18/03/2011 10:12

GoodMorning everyone!

CEP I'm sorry to be daft but not sure what fmu is? Sending you lots of good thoughts for Monday's scan - it must feel like an absolute age away. Do what makes you feel best this weekend to make it easier. fingers x'd for you.

dirge does no butter help heartburn??? Any other tips. I haven't got it yet but last pregnancy I drank about a lt of Gaviscon a day and it was so horrid. I thought this time I might be better at avoiding the wrong foods.

daiso I'm the same! Woke up this morning with no symptoms except what felt like AF pains. It made me really paranoid and like a complete sucker I went out to boots to get two more cheapy tests. Thankfully still a BFP. I need to keep reminding myself that last time I was pregnant I didn't even KNOW IT this early along so I really need to chill out. I think symptoms to come and go to some extent. I've forgotten!

hi Caz Congratulations on your BFP! So sorry to hear about your little girl. I can imagine that it changes the experience of pregnancy entirely and I wish you all the best. Hope you are feeling well today.

rightontime · 18/03/2011 10:14

Cep Hope the red is just the tail end of UTI. Will be thinking of you on monday. It seems so far away, can't imagine how you must be feeling.

Welcome caz sorry your DD was born sleeping. We are hear to hand hold and support though.

Dirge that is exactly how I feel today. DS is taking all the DVDs out of the cupboard so that is keeping him quiet for a little while but he needs to be watched and not ignored while I nap. I feel rubbish. I have been sick 3 times this morning. I feel a little emotional as someone who asked if they could have my dog a year ago passed her on to someone else within weeks of getting her and has been lying to me telling that the dog is still with her. This person is supposed to be my friend and I would never have rehomed my dog if she hadn't asked for her. I feel so betrayed. Sad

marthamay · 18/03/2011 10:15

oooooo. Woke up today thinking that it might be nice to eat a meat pie with chocolate sauce on it Hmm....the urge has faded now thank god and I am content to eat m&m's at 10 in the morning!

cep · 18/03/2011 10:20

martha fmu is first morning urine. and No, meat pie and chocolate sauce is just not right.

righton it feels like it's taken forever so far, and that i still have forever to go. That's awful, do you know who she gave it to? Could you ask for it back?

marthamay · 18/03/2011 10:20

rightontime
Yucky at being sick 3 times already. Feel sorry for you.
That's really crappy about your dog and why on earth did she have to lie Angry. I went to live for 6 months in Japan a couple of years ago and asked some good friends to look after my two lovely cats whilst we were away. When I got back they were nowhere to be found and completely uncontactable. I felt really angry - if they wanted to keep the cats they should have just asked me! Of course I would have said no.....but still. Still miss them.
I hope you get a chance to nap today - does your DS nap?

cep · 18/03/2011 10:22

martha that's awful.

pod3030 · 18/03/2011 10:35

morning all
martha what bastards! i would be inconsolable if someone made off with my cat.
well, another early start for me, 5am i was twitchy and nesty, so went for a run holding on to my mahoosive knockers. no sickness, but hot flushes agogo. trying not to worry about the no sickness

marthamay · 18/03/2011 10:46

Yes Angry even my DH was attached to those cats....
Sounds like you have a lot of symptoms anyhow pod.

Is there anybody on this thread who is still BF an earlier baby???? I feed my DS about 2 or 3 times during the day and once or twice at night. I was just wondering if there were any others who had experience of this and knew a little about how pregnancy and bfeeding effect each other.

MooseyMoo · 18/03/2011 10:55

Morning all, could I jump on board the November 2011 bus?

I had a scare on Tues night when I had a sudden bleed but stopped overnight. Managed to get docs appointment and referred to hospital for scan.

Managed to see a heartbeat and a 4mm peanut Smile absolutely amazing. Fingers crossed for all of you having an early scan soon.

I am getting a bit Angry with people who are working out my due date. My GP (not my normal one) was useless and thought I was due in December Hmm because I have a 33-38 day cycle. The scan date has come through for 20 April when I will be 10wks 4 days which I think is too early for the nuchal scan. Just phoned to try and change it and told the week I need (when I'm 12 weeks) is bank holiday week and not many appointments so I have to keep my current one. Argh. Hopefully they will be able to change it.

Yesterday I saw three different people and got 3 different dates of how pregnant I am. They all calculated it without asking me how long my cycle is. Last person I saw nearly got their head blown off with my reply of I'M NOT 7 WEEKS PREGNANT, I'M NEARLY 6!!! Blush Ahem, as you were...

My stats:
32yrs, DD 10.5 months, EDD 12/11/11
I'll add this to the stats link.
