Morning folks Smile

I'm really struggling with feeding DS3 at the moment. The past week, ten days or so he's been waking up every two hours to feed and it's killing me. Doesn't help that he's then falling asleep at the boob and then realises my nipple has slipped from his mouth then lunges for it - with his teeth. Boobs and nipples are very very sore atm and i'm not sure how long i can keep breastfeeding him for Sad I saw most of 3am onwards this morning, and Manshape got up with him at 5.30 and let me sleep til 8.

Apart from that i'm ok. Still lots of nausea at odd times.

And i can so identify with the taking the bra off moment - only manshape usually does mine for me Blush Any excuse for him to cop a feel Grin

Hope today treats everyone well. I'm just about to head out to the local car boot sale for a browse with manshape and the kids. The tooth fairy brought DS2 a whole £, and it's burning a hole in his pocket Grin

deemented · 19/03/2011 08:30

Cross posted Cep - hope you're ok, my lovely x

WuzzAndBuddy · 19/03/2011 08:53

Morning all!

So our version of the friday night bumsex threads is... bra whipping.... rock and roll eh!?

DH called this morning! Grin
Haven't spoken to him for almost a week so that was a nice wake up call.
Felt a bit guilty though, I couldn't stop yawning and at one point moaned 'Ugh, I'm so tired!' Blush
His reply was 'Oh you're tired are you? Righto, poor you!' [BadWife]

Cep, glad to hear there's been no more bleeding this morning, really hope it stays that way xx

DS and I are going into town later, will let him scoot in and then get the bus back, meant to do an online shop for today but I never got round to it last night so I'll have to get milk and bread in town. Don't fancy carrying shopping back and chasing DS on his scooter! Haven't got the energy!

Whats everyone elses plans for today?

Have fun at the boot sale Dee, hope you find some bargains!

dirgeinvegas · 19/03/2011 08:55

Dee my DD has been the same. The suckling, the all night feeds, the staying latched on. I was on my knees on Wednesday and left work earl so I could sleep before DD got home. But the last two nights she has slept better than she ever has. She has settled herself back to sleep without even attempting to feed and when she does ask to feed (bizarrely she's starting asking for milk in her sleep "my have this booby please") she falls asleep as soon as she latches on and rolls away after a few seconds.

So today I feel completely different, maybe I can do this...Good luck. I hope it improves for you too.

I am having breakfast in bed this morning. I've opted for boiled eggs...against my better judgement. Wish me luck!!

Have a lovely day everyone!

cep · 19/03/2011 09:25

dee oooh that sounds painful.

wuzz oh bless. Grin sorry couldn't help but laugh. hope it ended better.

dirge glad you had a good night.

what your opinions, do you think it's safe to go swimming. ds and dss really want to go, i couldn't go last time cause was full of bad cold, but i'm just not sure if it's safe, until i know what the bleeding is from. what do you think?

WuzzAndBuddy · 19/03/2011 09:36

Lol, it ended much better thanks Cap! He knows I wasn't being horrid, just moaning.
I told him it was his fault so he should give me sympathy (joking btw!) and he laughed and said 'hey, I didn't hear you complaining! Wink' Grin

Not sure on the swimming... If it was me I think I'd want to wait til after Monday, til I knew what was going on.
Is there anything else you could bribe them with do this weekend? Soft play? Play area? Something you don't have to be too involved in?
Or can anyone else come with you so you're not overdoing it?

rightontime · 19/03/2011 12:16

Cep glad no bleeding today. FX that's the last and bean ok. x

Welcome folicacid and congrats

I have been pretty sick with both my DS's and my friend couldn't leave her bedroom with her DS3 through sickness.

MrsA I am not sure at which point the baby develops gender but surely it is determined immediately. The x or y comes from the sperm so depends on which sperm fertilises the egg. Therefore the gender must be determined already? Not sure if this has any effect on symptoms though.

I am feeling pretty ok today. Feel a bit like I could be sick but I don't feel icky with it so good sign.

Deemeneted and dirge hope the BF get easier soon. x

escapeartist · 19/03/2011 17:32

Hey all!

Saw the thread today and I am being brave enough to post! I am 6 weeks today and quite nervous about the whole thing. First pregnancy, much wanted and 2 months into infertility investigations. Very pleased :)

As for symptoms, had a lot of period-like pains in week s 4 and 5, but now they are gone and all that's left are sore boobies (that feel huge, but i'm only a B cup so realise that no one else notices), some tiredness (bring on the naps) and a little sickness after I get up from my naps in the afternoon. Love the bra-whipping by the way - unfortunately went bra shopping 2 days before I found out I was pg and bought a bra which is now giving me pain! Argh...

My gynae (live in Greece, where we have no GP's or midwives) wants me to go for scan next week, am I weird to want to wait? I am scared I won't see a heartbeat so early on and would rather wait... Is that weird? Hmm

rightontime · 19/03/2011 17:41

Welcome escapeartist and congrats. I don't think it is weird at all. If you didn't see a heartbeat it would be worrying even though it might be too early anyway. If you are not happy having a scan yet than I would let your gynae know and ask to wait a further week.

Its very quiet on here today. Is everyone enjoying the sun?

freeangel · 19/03/2011 17:52

Hiya all, Its been so sunny today here not that i have really been out! Been feeling sick and lazy! Tonight its my friends birthday and we are going to a revolutions bar in a nearby town! Roll on drinking lemonade and trying to see how long i last! Smile

Welcome folic and escapeartist Hows everyones day been?

chipmonkey · 19/03/2011 19:07

Felt sorry for TerrysNo2 this evening. I was driving home, the rain was pelting down and we were hammering England in the Rugby! Wink

Welcome escapeartist! Having been in the no-heartbeat situation, I would second delaying the scan a week or so. I am now very anxious about my next scan.

mashpot · 19/03/2011 19:12

Congrats folic and escapeartist and hello everyone else. What a glorious day, hope Spring is here to stay.

So, having found out I was pregnant last weekend, this weekend I have accepted an offer on my house! It has been on the market since last July and I thought it would never sell so I'm very pleased but the buyers want to move fast and I haven't even looked at any houses so will have a busy/stressful couple of weeks ahead I suspect. Or be homeless!

Well, it will take my mind off waiting for my first doc appt next Saturday anyway.

I'm a bit Envy of all the bra whipping and hope my boobs grow soon!

chipmonkey · 19/03/2011 19:21

Funny enough mashpot,my boobs feel massive but when I lookin the mirror they are not all that impressive.Hmm

Truffkin · 19/03/2011 19:29

Hi ladies, I have also had quite a quiet day today although the weather has been glorious and reminded me that sunshine does wonders for my mood Grin

We had a wander out this morning to order new glasses for DH and he also got some prescription sunglasses (he's excited for his new fashion accessories!) I also ordered a couple of books off Amazon, a pregnancy journal (the Belly Book!) for me and a 'pregnancy for blokes' guide type thing for DH. Am looking forward to those arriving as I've started to want to write things down and think this will be a nice keepsake. I'm a big shopper ordinarily so I'm struggling not to buy stuff even though it's such early days! Am very much looking forward to a big spend up when we finally feel we can and have started bookmarking websites already Blush

I'm off to order a curry now in an attempt to blow away my stuffy nose (this is a cold that doesn't seem to want to budge and poor DH is not impressed with my blocked nose-related snoring!)

Truffkin · 19/03/2011 19:35

Sorry, I meant to go back and reference other people but forgot and pressed post too early so sorry for the 'mememe' post!

Welcome escape and here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy (plus lots of sharing news on this thread!)

Mash great news about selling your house, it's certainly been a good time for you recently, all your good luck is coming at once!

Sorry for everyone who is trying to balance early pregnancy with BF a toddler - that sounds like hard work! Hope Terrys has had a good time at the rugby in spite of the result!

MooseyMoo · 19/03/2011 19:37

Hi escapeartist, I'm also 6 weeks today :) I only went for an early scan as I had a bleed. It happened again last night (when I was fast alseep Hmm) but was very small. Not liking this at all but haven't got cramps.

Went to a christening today, felt v nauseous in church but better after I ate a few nibbles. Really wanted to tell a couple of friends but these 2 bleeds have made me nervous and don't want to tell alot of people now. Just family so far, mainly because I see them alot and am so tired and nauseous.

For me, the worst thing about pregnancy is there is absolutely nothing I can do to make this bean stick.

Currently watching Die Another Day and wondering if I can stay awake to the end. I don't think I've ever watched a James Bond from start to finish!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Oh, must remember to keep an eye out for that moon.

cep · 19/03/2011 19:47

evening all, i went with them but didn't go in the pool.

welcome escapeartist and congratulations. Where abouts in Greece are you? my MIL is greek and has a place in Athens.

Watching starwars with dh and dss so better go. hope everyone has a good night.

MooseyMoo · 19/03/2011 19:59

Just dug out the fetal development link I manically referred to for my first pregnancy:

www.baby2see.com/development/week6.html

clipclopclipclop · 19/03/2011 20:34

Evening all

Welcome folic and escape lovely to have more ladies on board

Ooh mooseymoo thanks for that, i love sites like that, even this second time round

I am still the most tired I have ever been. It's ridiculous, i swear I am more tired now than when dd was a newborn. I have swollen and sore nipples, had a bath with dd last night and she thought ot was funny to have a tug on one of them, i nearly hit the roof!!!

No more spotting for me, thank goodness and fx for no more, but a bit a bit constipated Someone on here recommended fruit in syrup? Can't remember who. Tucking into a bowl just now, feels like old lady food!!

x

Truffkin · 19/03/2011 21:33

Moosey thanks for the link, I think that's my new favourite website! I have so far used the Fertility Friend pregnancy tracker and the babycentre.co.uk pregnancy weekly calendar. I also have the babycentre app on my phone, as well as 'what to expect when you're expecting' app too. Knowledge is power!

Glad you've not had any more spotting ClipClop and hope your nipple has recovered Grin

WuzzAndBuddy · 19/03/2011 22:09

First craving alert!

Moussaka... of all the things to crave... ????

On Thursday at work I decided I wanted Moussaka for dinner, was planning on walking into town after work and getting it as a ready meal from M&S. Work over ran and I had to go straight home to pick DS up from nursery.
I considered seeing if there was somewhere local I could order takeaway Moussaka, had no cash to pay for one.
Thought about Moussaka all day Friday.
Had Moussaka for dinner tonight!!! Yeah!
Happy now.

escapeartist · 20/03/2011 05:40

Hahaha wuzz that is a strange craving! I spent last week being off meat and then this week craving salami (!) yet I know I am not supposed to be eating deli meats... so have stayed awake. Not having massive cravings though... Waiting for all of it to hit.

rightonline and chipmonkey thanks for the advice. I am talking to her tomorrow (my gynae) and I hope she will be OK with me waiting a week. If nothing else this week is so busy anyway, with two parent-teacher meetings, several other work related meetings and helping friend picking wedding dresses (at least there is a nice balance of work and life). Now if I can only stay awake. Strange thing is, I don't actually feel all that tired, but fall asleep the minute I sit down to watch TV/cinema/passenger in a car.

cep I'm in Athens too (although a bit outside, on the mountain) and DH and I had been looking at leaving the country. Had an interview in another country two days before I found out I was pg. Suffice to say we are staying put, as wouldn't be getting any maternity rights anywhere else...

escapeartist · 20/03/2011 05:41

Argh.... i meant stayed away... not awake... doh!

pod3030 · 20/03/2011 07:23

congrats folic and escape x

wuzz- am dribbling at the thought of green olives and soy sauce (in a homer simpson donut type of way)

Folicacid · 20/03/2011 07:33

Another early morning for me. Forced myself to stay in bed until the clock turned 7. Seemed a bit more civilised on a sunday!

Quiet weekend for me ad off work for a couple of days this week too so feeling relaxed. Been sleeping at a drop of a hat too, and can't eat any dinners. Just feel so full?

cep glad bleeding has stopped. As I was bleeding before, I'm still doing all the knicker checking constantly and it's stressful, so feel for you.

Wuzz m and s by far do the best moussaka ready meal. Yum!
