All the best mummyw - will be thinking of you tmrw & Friday x

qwerty Hope all is ok. I've had the odd day or two of leakage. Enough to soak through knickers, liner & tights anyway. Luckily no embarrassing wet patch just yet! Major twinges and pressure today on train home from work. Made me realise there is quite a good chance my waters could break on the train. How awful. Anyway - no queue jumping so just stop leaking waters and wait your turn please! Grin

pp Many congratulations on the safe arrival of Daisy! Hope she is settling in well at home.

Waves to everyone else - posting from phone but will have a proper catch up tmrw hopefully!

Kiwigirl Thats getting so close and well done on waiting til 39 weeks to get out the induction methods. I think I have had a mental block now I got to 37 weeks I think it should be happening now and after last weeks excitment. Today I went to Holland and Barrett and bought EPO, Raspberry Caps, arnica and some lavender massage oil so we are bringing out the big guns!

Backache is getting bad again now so now got a wheat and lavender pack on which is nice and relaxing. If anyone has a home bargains by them they are only 2.99.

GotArt Glad your have SIL onside Smile

Bonkerz Day out sounds nice but Grrr on the car and I hope they see sence and give you the other car.

MummyW Will be thinking of you tomorrow and good luck [cgrin]

Has anyone heard from VicBic? Last I remember she was going into induction.

Running We built the crib and its looking very cute but as far as working out where to put it me and DH sat on the bed and debated it for a while deciding it was a good time to snuggle and watch a film so its still in the lounge with no where to go! Mum is around now and we are catching up on Masterchef. I was not sure on the new format to start with but now I love it and think they are some of the best yet.

I hope everything is ok Qwerty The pad sniffing advice was what the hospital told me to do and then if it carried on to go in and take the pad so the MW could do the same.

Wow I think my posts are getting longer! Thinking of a new thread name for us

Hi
in hospital overnight for monitoring.
Waters broken, very small contractions showing on monitor but can't feel
they may induce if the contractions don't get stronger :(
DH at home with DS and will be back later. Need hand holding.
Upset it is 4 weeks early- had so much to do and was wanting to get out and about.
Think I just felt a minor contraction! I guess it is starting...
Will check in when I can

cowboylover · 28/04/2011 05:22

Gosh hope you are ok or as good as you can be Qwerty and your DH can be back with you soon.

I can't sleep so will be keeping an eye out for you x

runningmonkey · 28/04/2011 06:19

I'm awake early too Qwerty. Thinking of you xx

DontWorryBaby · 28/04/2011 06:36

Qwerty Don't worry - 36 weeks is ok! Your DH can do any final organising needed at home so just focus on you & baby. x

I hate being on these monitors you obsess about every change in speed or volume in the heartbeat.

jbells · 28/04/2011 07:34

Mummyw. Hope u managed to sleep last nite and that yoyr not to nervous. Im excited for u :)

QwertyQueen · 28/04/2011 08:38

Going to induce me now as baby pre term :(
drip induction
said they don't want me to use pool as want to monitor baby and recommending an epidural :(
all a bit scarey

runningmonkey · 28/04/2011 08:41

Qwerty I don't want to scare you but fwiw I would reccomend an epi before they start the drip as the drip makes the ctx come on thick and fast which I found v difficult to cope with. Everyone is different though so do what you feel is right, have to go out now but will try to check back in on phone if you need any support. Is your DH with you now?

Just keep focussing on the thought that you will be meeting your baby soon :o

DontWorryBaby · 28/04/2011 08:55

Qwerty Try to focus on the baby, all will be absolutely fine. Just relax and do your best, every labour is different so stay calm and make decisions on the situation as it changes. Hope DH is with you now. X

JBrd · 28/04/2011 09:13

Thinking of you, Qwerty! Hope all goes well, it must be scary, but keep thinking that you're doing the best for your baby! Hang in there, the end is in sight!

MummyW - good luck to you as well, am (almost) jealous, at least for you the wait is over...

Keep us posted!

How about 'The darling buds of May' or something like that for a new thread title? Bit cheesy, and has probably been done to death before...

Labella77 · 28/04/2011 09:15

OMG
My husbands ex has just declared that she is going away over half term and we have his two children for the week (12 and 9) Half term starts on my Due date. AGAGAGAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
What the hell am i going to do?

Right there are three options

  1. The baby is here so they wont' be too much of a bother
  2. The baby is not here, but i will be pretty incapable of doing much, need an emergency place for them all to stay inc, our DD
  3. The baby comes when they are here and all hell breaks loose. Emergency place needed for them all to stay aswell.

What would you do?

BizzeeBee · 28/04/2011 09:15

What a day we are having today!

MummyWilliams thinking of you today - I'm guessing that by the time you read this it will have happened!

Qwerty thanks for updates. I'm no expert, but don't worry, stay calm and take each step at a time. (How easy to say this when I'm at home not having to do scary things!)

Got to take sister to airport now. Will try and post again later.

kiwigirlinlondon · 28/04/2011 09:31

qwerty how exciting! I'm sure they will look after you well and the baby will be fine. We're all standing by for your good news

Good luck for today mummyw

Its all go on here now!

saldoozer · 28/04/2011 09:47

qwerty hope everything goes well, i'm sure they will look after you.
mummyw good luck for today

I'm sure you will both be holding your babies soon.

labella sounds a bit of a nightmare, is she going to be abroad? Could she be the emergency childcare for her own children if you deliver?

I went for a nice long walk yesterday but still nothing exciting happening [chmm]
Have been hoping for a royal wedding baby anyway (but know that i probably won't get one) so hoping tomorrow will be the day (there is no logical reason for this) [csmile]

ilovemydogandMrObama · 28/04/2011 10:47

qwerty don't worry! Yes, technically the baby is pre term, but any delivery under 37 weeks is called 'pre term.'

Labella Have you tried Sitters.co.uk? Assuming you have considered all the obvious things like family/friends. Depending on where you live, you could call the Children's Services of the Council and ask for their approved child care list. Some child minders would do an overnight stay at short notice, or you could pay a retainer for a nanny.

Saw consultant yesterday. Growth is absolutely fine and plotted right in the middle of the graph, so bollocks to anyone who comments about my size. Grin. Am trying to repeat as a mantra that the baby's size is the important thing, and not mine.

Am being induced on the 11th of May, which is in 2 weeks. Means we can enjoy the bank holiday(s) and get things ready.

Had my hair done this morning. Nothing quite like looking in the mirror at yourself when exhausted Shock Grin

MummyWilliams · 28/04/2011 11:40

Hi! Everyone

Quick post. Our scrumptious baby son, George Ray born at 9.50am today weighing 8lb 12oz. Everything went ok. Will try to upload pic later.

Good luck qwerty, everything will be alright.

xxx

BizzeeBee · 28/04/2011 11:51

Congratulations MummyWilliams

[csmile]

gingerwench · 28/04/2011 12:23

earlier message disappeared i think

congrats to mummywilliams.

38 weeks today and gases for homebirth and box of stuff have just been delivered. All I need now is for midwife to come and check gases working ok but going out this afternoon so hope they can come tomorrow.

DH's work colleagues are running a sweepstake on when the baby will arrive. DS1 was 2 weeks late and induced but I think this will be closer to the official due date (no signs yet though, just lots of pelvic pain if I don't move around enough, or if I move too much).

Another example of my pregna-brain today...decorated 24 cupcakes for DH's work place (they are having cakes to celebrate royal wedding tomorrow). THought that union flags would be beyond me in sprinkles, so made stencils for saltires (we are in scotland) and st george crosses as well as doing other more random red white and blue things. Just as well I realised that my saltires were reversed i.e. blue crosses on white instead of white on blue. DOH! [cblush]. That could have been v v embarrassing and potentially insulted a few people....

cowboylover · 28/04/2011 13:35

Qwerty Hope everything goes well for you today, must be scary but you noticed the signs and did the right thing so it will be ok. As others have said it is considered pre-term but only just. You have your gorgeous baby with you soon.

Congratulations MummyW Glad it all went well and they didn't keep you waiting long. Can't wait to see the pictures [cgrin]
