OOH new thread-
sesame hmm, interesting point re full moon. My EDD is 18th May Smile However once I reach 37 weeks I don't know if I'll be able to settle, knowing that baby is considered to be full term

Had a MW appointment yesterday, everything is fine & I asked her about homebirth she said "no problemo"; she'd need to fill in some form to have my care transferred from St Mary's to Wythenshawe but that something more to do with MW boundaries etc. I'm still not certain about it, but watching OBEM just makes me think that a hospital birth could never compare to the COMFORT of your own home. DH came along so he got to hear LO's heartbeat

i have a tattoo on the base of my back that seems to have been fine both times :)

and as for rasperry leaf tea i tried it last time once and it was vile never bothered agen haha

i dont know but i seem to remember DD being born on a full moon and the midwife mentioning it was always busier

Hi Glad everyone seems to be doing well Smile

I am suffering again at the moment, still got the water infection I had 3 weeks ago and despite being on antibiotics my white blood count is still rising and just to make it even worse I now have a chest infection Sad and everytime I cough it feels like my stomach is ripping apart.
MW also said I am measuring 7-10 days ahead of what I should be for the first time and due to me carrying lots of water she is finding it hard to determine which way baby is lying so I've got to go back in two weeks and if it is still measuring big she will send me for a growth scan, I am huge though so am wondering if my dates are slightly out although all my scans have been spot on for dates?

Think I am paying for having such an easy time when carrying DD, feel really fed up with it now and just want to go to bed and wake up when baby is ready to be born, only thing that is keeping me from doing that is DD who is looking after me.

I had a new tattoo booked but had to cancell when I found out I was pregnant as not recommended and I would have been 4 months but still planning on rebooking when shes here for later in the year.

linziluv: I have been waking up, not early but I was known for not waking uptil my alarm went off if that was 7am or 1pm so good for me!

Ican: MW said today that measuring is guideline but its the scans that can really be accurate, all the water must make it really hard to tell. I know what you mean sometimes and I feel bad by thinking can I just hurry up and have her, not like I am wishing from a premie but want it over with some days.

I saw MW today and she was happy with everything which is always nice and little lady is still head down but now with back to my right which I think happened yesterday as bump looks a different shape now.

There have been a few cases of swine flu locally and my friend who works in ITU said they have 3 pregnant ladies in with them at the moment so I think I will have the jab they have offered after previously turning it down. Did anyone else have it?
If so how did you feel after as they can see me next Thursday morning but I have got an appointment with the anesthetist in the afternoon so I dont want to be feeling rough out of the house!

Thanks Cowloylover for the link to the new thread.

Posting my message again on the new thread

I am catching up on the last few days posts. I had my scan today and the doctor indicated that I might have an early baby. I am 32 weeks today. Need to pack my hospital bag to be prepared for the D-day.

Cazzr I was also thinking of buying Medella Swing but will hold off till the baby is born.

Thanks Loopymumsy for the useful tips on BF :)

hello all

Haven't been on the thread for a while but read regularly.
I'm feeling a lot more physically tired (32 weeks today) and had to take a half day off work this week due to horrendous insomnia and lots of aches, pains, cramps and gut rot. Just as I was getting ready to fall asleep in the early hours, DS started waking with nightmares. Thankfully DH offered to do the nursery run and i went back to bed at 6:30 and slept for a bit before going to work at midday. Felt a bit guilty although I only get paid for hours I work and there was no way I was fit to drive.

Today I'm a bit breathless and weeble-like. Just 4 more weeks at work and looking forward to stopping.

Yes I had a combined swine flu / seasonal flue jab early on with this pregnancy. I didn't feel too bad afterwards but I think it is quite an individual thing.

I haven't bought anything for #2 yet apart from a Sophie the giraffe teether and a babygro that I might take back. I bought the babygro online because I had the urge to buy something cute and unnecessary to get me in the new baby mood Grin It's got a lovely frog print on it but is sized 0-5 months and it is HUGE - not the little cute thing for a newborn I had in mind at all! DS is on the small side so expect #2 will be too.

Morning ladies! Difficult question I suppose... I know that "babies come when they like" (except caesarian etc), but when is common for them to start arriving? Been reading that some of you are being predicted early babies and sounds like most have stuff ready in case, but I've not done any prep yet cos I'm moving house and I'm expecting a few weeks grace yet! I'm due on 2nd May, so I think I'm one of the earliest too, getting a bit concerned now...

Tinwe Probably not a fair representation but from the 52 babies on my due nov 09 forum - 5 were born before the 1st nov, 6 were into December. More late babies than early.

I wasn't ready the first time, ended up packing hospital bags between contractions and my labour started 2 days before my due date. I was completely expecting to be late with my first. This time around, I'm hoping to be ready by 35 weeks, just in case! And knowing my luck will end up going two weeks over!! Smile

Hi all, have caught up with thread but am not good at name checking so will just type!

HOSPITAL BAG: i have everything for it but havent packed it. My sister keeps nagging but i know im have a section in about 6 weeks so am not too panicky about getting it done (famous last words!)

Had my whole day planned yesterday, midwife at 9:45, lunch for best mates birthday at 12:30 then physio at 3:10 and tea at sisters at 5pm......well you know what they say about best made plans!
Ended up getting a phonecall at 8:30 from physio saying they had recieved my referral from maternity adn had concerns and wanted me to go for a double appointment at 1:30pm so i had to cancel my lunch with my friends :0( then when i got to midwife i wasnt even booked in for an appointment. Recepetionist said they had cancelled my appointment (midwife hadnt and still needed to see me!) bloody GP receptionists are a law unto themselves!!!!! anyway i actually did get seen quite quickly and BP was still a little high but urine was clear so concern has dropped.....more bed rest prescribed and i have to go back in 2 weeks.
Physio was a nightmare......had to lean against a wall and lift my legs and do some other strange movements. diagnosis was indeed SPD but physio said that normall when pelvic muscles fail due to SPD that the core muscles take over but my core muscles on my left side have failed and ive now got to wear a brace when im active and ive got to go back in 10 days. I was really hoping i would just get a tubi support and be sent home like i was when i had SPD with DD 5 years ago but this time it looks like im going to be attending physio after having baby too :0(
Am doing car boot sunday with sister, we have loads of baby girl clothes to get rid of and also a huge bouncy pram that we had for DD but got given a travel system this time which is much more light weight. we are raising money to hire a hummer for BIL 40th birthday in Jue. AM off to basingstoke on MOnday with my sister as well, we have to go to sort out my mums grave (morbid i know!) but i feel the need to go before i get worse and cant travel for a while and sister wants to take nephew down (sounds weird but we like to let our children know who our mum was , she died when me and sister were pregnant with our last 2 children who are now 5)

Am trying to decide if i should study today or rest! big decision! lol

Ginger; Sophie is so cute as my friends baby has got one of those x

Loopy: I have 3 already but only small ones, I had a full back piece booked but as DH doesn't like them he's hoping I change my mind when I'm a mummy!

Bonkerz; my NHS physio said the same as it's not guaranteed to go away just because the baby has been born but in most cases it does so that's what I am keeping it all crossed for. Not morbid at all about wanting your children to know about her. I have been trying to think of ways I can do the same as lost dad 2 years ago and with my life changing so much it brings him to the front of my mind.

I had a nice relaxing day yesterday and had a pedicure so the most adventurous thing I am doing today is aqua natal and reading my book!

Happy Friday everyone x

Well for the first time ever (31w+3) I asked someone to move on the bus so I could sit down, and they said "No" Angry Some stupid woman who'd been shopping in Primark had her bags the seat next to the window. There were seats right at the back, but I would have preferred to sit where she had her shopping & most of the time if you ask someone to move their bag they do so; when she refused to shift her precious cheapo clothing I was gobsmacked!

brillo Shock Shock Are you sure she knew you were pregnant? Reason I ask is that I was with the DCs last weekend and the man in front of me asked if him and his girlfriend could have the table we were waiting for as, 'my girlfriend is pregnant...' I sort of muttered, 'um, yeah, sure...' Am 31 + 3 also, although if I wear DH's baggy sweater, you can't really tell. Must get decent clothes Grin

How is everyone else? Had a fall this morning down the stairs. Rather embarrassing, but was rushing trying to get out the door with DD and DS for school. Fortunately fell on my padded rear end. Called midwife who said to come in if worried, but to try and rest and monitor movements which seem OK. Am quite nervous though as had a leak with DS....

Other than that, I am exhausted. Totally wiped out.

Thats horrible Brillo! I hope you gave her a dirty look!

Ilove: I hope your ok, must be really scary and everything makes me worry so take your time Smile

I went to aqua natal today and really enjoyed it, not exactly much excercise but a nice chat. It was a midwife leading the group in the pool and 5 others and we bobbed around and asked her questions mainly so made the most of the time.

Going to an engagement party tomorrow night so I am planning a lie in before I relax then get ready so I at least have half a chance of staying up past 10pm.

Thanks ladies for the info re: expected delivery times. I'm hoping she doesn't arrive very early as we're still doing the house up, also the midwife unit only allows you to deliver in a short window of opportunity.

Very interesting about the physio assessment for SPD pistachio - ive got that next week myself. I had a couple of really bad weeks when I could barely walk but it's eased to just certain activities now which is still limiting enough... been trying to help with decorating today which has left me very sore. I'm really hoping it will pass after the birth - how do the physios know that is or isn't likely?

Sympathies to those of you feeling tired and with SPD and to ilove for the fall on the stairs.

I've got gastro-enteritis and had to take yesterday off work. The anti-nausea pills from the GP are helping a bit but still struggling to keep even fluids down. I know it's only a tummy bug but the violent vomiting has strained all my abdominal muscles and I'm feeling v sorry for myself. Baby still moving loads although feels quite deep not near the surface.

Hope you're all getting/feeling better with the various aches and pains! It's just starting to get uncomfortable now, isn't it...

I'm trying to be organised making a list for my hospital bag, ticking off things that I have and checking what I need to get.
One thing I'm wondering about is a Tens machine - not so much whether to get one or not, but how. Buy or hire? It's about £27-30 for hiring and £55 to buy (on Amazon, also looking at options on eBay).

I wouldn't mind hiring, but they only send it out 3 weeks before your due date, which for me would be the week before Easter - now they advise up to 5 days for delivery, which for me could take me right into the Easter Bank holidays, and I now I'd be freaking out about going into labour early! However, if you want it to be delivered early, you pay extra Confused

Have any of you experience with the hire service? I'm looking at the one for the NCT, are there other sites? I'd like to get the Elle Tens machine.

Hi I hired a TENS machine last time from this site and I'll probably use them again
