My stress free day was indeed stress free. I moved only to get food and go to the loo. Mum had DD until seven, DH was out until six thirty, so I had most of the day (from 10:00 in the morning) to myself, just watching TV, chilling out and sleeping.
However... back at work today and OH LORDY it is killing me off. I am so tired. Luckily my mum works in the same building so is going to give me a lift home, as I'm not quite sure how I'd manage to pick DD up otherwise!

gingerwench · 26/04/2011 12:36

just a quick one to say congrats to perpetuallypregnant

Wigeon · 26/04/2011 13:32

Many congratulations on the arrival of Daisy, Perpetuallypregnant! Do post your birth story when you've got a moment, but in the meantime hope you are recovering well and enjoying newborn cuddles.

Rollercoasteryears · 26/04/2011 15:41

Jbrd I'm relieved it's not so hot today too - not that I'm suffering so much with swelling etc, but it's such a responsibility to "get out and enjoy the weather" with DS, which I can't really be bothered to do! DH luckily did a lot of outside stuff with him over the Easter weekend...

Elf your day sounds heavenly, am very Envy

Justrying 3 1/2 days is nothing, you'll be on ML before you know it - lovely!

I've just got back from the MW - contrary to my expectations with such an active and mobile baby, she is in fact head down, not only that, but the head is central and no longer moveable - MW wrote 3/5ths in my notes and said she was starting to engage (although she also warned me that 2nd babies can bob in and out!) - but hurrah!

GotArt · 26/04/2011 18:24

Sounds like everyone is getting ready to pop. Grin Heads down, achy backs, swollen feet. Grin

I've got cranky pants on today. Not that anything in particular has happened, just feel a wee bit cranky. Back went out a few days ago so haven't done much of anything so that may be why; feeling cooped up.

Emailed SIL today and asked when will they be on the island and if they found accommodation in the city or out where we are. I said I needed confirmed dates to be sure DH is off. If baby comes early, they will likely be here after he takes his 2 weeks off and I'll be damned if I'm galavanting all over hell's acres with a NB, toddler and 3 family members that want to do touristy things while DH works his 14 hour days. Grrr I'm desperate to ensure DD keeps her napping and bedtime schedule and with NB in the house, that may be difficult as it is. She gets so wound up on DH's days off at those times of days too, so can imagine what it will be like when NB comes.

Off to MW appointment... honestly, my pregnancy is so uneventful that I feel like its a waste of time on both our parts. Anyhow, DD has reminded a hundred times this morning that we are to take 'Uta, cookies' today for her, right from the moment we got up. lol. Must have been her first thought of the day.

Have a lovely rest of your Tuesday Ladies.

runningmonkey · 26/04/2011 18:37

Hi all, nothing much to report here although have been twingey again but nothing major.

Glad peeps are all still ok :) am 39 weeks tomorrow [eek]

jbells what a scarily small world! makes you wonder who else is local ish on here.

Went out for coffee with a old friend from school and her lovely 17month old today, and am off to pub tonight for (a different) friend's birthday - now which flavour J20 shall i have?? Grin. Its another friend's 30th on Mon, and i think she would like to go for a meal at the weekend. Me and DH are 'pencilled in', subject to events! Hope i get there!

StiffyByng · 26/04/2011 21:30

pissovski, Wigeon and I realised quite quickly we sat next to each other at work!

Congratulations, perpetually(hmm)pregnant! Do tell us how it all went.

I'm on tenterhooks to see who the next baby is. Just catching up on the weekend, I was sure it was going to be you, bonkerz.

EPO directly on the cervix, loopy? Eek. I can't reach mine so not sure that's a goer, but I'm watching with interest to see if it works. I'm taking raspberry leaf tablets but am only 39 weeks with first baby so I'm not holding out much hope of a baby in the next week.

Perpetuallypregnant · 26/04/2011 21:31

Hi guys!
Daisy currently snoring in her moses basket :) shes lovely and snuggly. I cant stop kissing her! Ava has been lovely despite being a big sis at 11 months old! She grins everytime she sees Daisy and goes 'ahhh' and kisses her all the time. The older girls are fighting over her and even DS came for a little cuddle :)

Breast feedimg seems ok atm, shes not feeding too often and is very gentle and chilled out so not too tough on my poor boobs.

Still shocked that she came so early.
I was having the odd strong contraction on Sunday and sunday night. Didnt think too much of it but i was lying in bed on my ipad about to go to sleep when i had quite a strong one and felt a weird bubble like bulge down below, thought 'that was weird' then suddenly a massive gush of water! I nearly flew out of bed, my waters have never gone on their own before!
Told Dh whilst waddling around the bedroom with a towel between my legs as still losing loads of water. Then i realised i still had hardly any clothes in my labour bag so was packing that....

Went downstairs, i was terrified it was going to happen really quickly as I was having stomach cramps but ended up needing to sit on the loo for about 15 mins with the runs Blush

SIL arrived and we made our way to hospital. They put me on a monitor and i wasnt really contracting, which I already knew, i was only 1cm dilated but since my previous labours have happened very quickly she was happy for me to stay.

So I bounced around for a bit, still gushign water now and again, cx getting stronger gradually but still irregular. By 7am I was examined and was about 4cm and allowed gas and air and diamorphine which made me high as a kite!

I managed to get an epidural too :) The pain from last time still very fresh in my mind. So it never really got too painful. At 11.30 i was fully dilated and with a few pushes she came out weighing 7lb 8oz, my littlest baby (ds was 7 10 and ava was almost 9lbs).

I had skin to skin with her for ages and didnt want to get her dressed, it was lovely. The cord snapped as theyw ere trying to get the placenta out but i manahed to push it out myself which was actually more effort than pushing the baby out!

All in all a lovely experience and the midwives were wonderful :)

Never again though.... Lol 5 children is definitely enough! I got up this morning (dh was up amd we had a lie in) and dd1 had her friend over, dd2 had about 3 friends running around, the house was just full of girls! Its crazy but lovely.

Hope you arent waiting much longer. A bit sad its all over to be honest but really im over the moon to not be pregnant any more :)

LoobyLou33 · 26/04/2011 21:35

Hello people, I haven't been on here for months! I couldn't keep up with the thread at the time so dropped off...glad to see so many people still here and wish everyone really well for the coming weeks and happy arrivals :-)

My due date is today but I wasn't expecting anything from it; still, it's very odd having had it in the diary for the last 8 months and seeing it come and go!

I'll try to catch up on what's been happening (recently at least) and join in if 'bumpy' as we're calling him/her doesn't make a sudden appearance! xx

Hello all

Congrats new mums! I am jealous.Still another 3 weeks at least for me, tho' I expect I'll be late again.

Generally pretty good, bit grumpy but that is just impatience. DD off treatment whilst we await THE DECISION from cons if we might be in the clear, for now at least. Babywise, all done. DD not well enough for nursery yet, and loads of medical appts so not yet putting my feet up.

Keep looking after yourselves everyone. I keep reading just not enough time to post.

take care

pissovski · 26/04/2011 22:01

PP everything sounds lovely (if a little scary!!) glad you're all doing well :)

Stiffy its just weird isn't it! I know that there must be plenty of people local to me on here, but to actually find it out!!

Quick update on me sleeping is hit and miss still had to take myself to bed yest afternoon for a nap i cudnt keep my eyes open :(
Dd is in nursery tomoro so i am kinda hoping it rains agen cos then i wont mind being stuck in tidying all day. Im hoping tomoro will b a day of getting organised.

I am pretty sure babys head is engaged now as my bump is hanging really low and when i sit down i cant close my legs. Is anyone else getting twinges and pressure really low down?

cowboylover · 26/04/2011 23:15

Bonkerz I hope you manage to get the car sorted, just not what you need at the moment! I have been on the phone to HR at work as they got my pay wrong again and really played the prego stress car so fingers crossed it will be sorted soon.

GotArt I hope you get the inlaw situation sorted and clarified soon for all of you!

PerpetuallyPregnant That sounds like a good experience for you and you must really have your hands full now! Congratulations again.

It is really still settling in that we will have a baby in our house soon. Its been just me and DH for 5 years in this house and been together for nearly 10 so it just seams weird that our double act will soon become a Trio Hmm

pistachio I know what you mean about the swing of hormones and what I want to happen. Happy for it to be just us and then cant wait to have the baby here with us, even if just to try out all the new baby stuff!

Stripey I hope all goes well with the consultant and you get some rest before LO arrives.

I am interested now to what EPO is? Loopy?

DH is practicing his massage technique for when im in labour and hes getting really good now! Its really helping me relax to get off to sleep so gone from not sleeping to getting 12 to 14 hours. Another sign that shes not even slightly engaged from what I ahve read from some is that I only one bathroom break.

GotArt · 27/04/2011 05:19

PP 'that was weird' Grin Too funny. Sounds like you had a good experience. I hadn't realized DC just before is only 11 months! Shock Rock on girl!

On the in-law front; they are going to be here from June 11-16th, so not one or two nights like DH was trying to tell me. One or two nights I could deal with; the first day they would arrive late in afternoon and night would just be dinner here and then the next day they would be out all day, meet up for dinner somewhere, then home and gone in the morning... nothing to it, but 6 nights! Not bloody likely. SIL said she doesn't want to intrude... thank goodness.

cowboy Massage technique... I wish... I asked DH to rub my feet the other night and he didn't even answer me, just sorted of chuffed. Hmm Precisely what I'll be doing next time he asks me for a BJ. lol

Good morning! Just a quick post - so much has happened since before the weekend!

Congratulations PP. :)

I waved goodbye to my parents yesterday, and feeling sad about that. They were quite easy because they were staying in a hotel that's very nearby. My sister is still staying with us for another day. The weather that was supposed to chuck it down over weekend didn't, and instead it was nice, so :) about that.

brillopads · 27/04/2011 08:20

2nd Parent Education class last night- abnormal labour, or reasons for intervention. We stayed behind afterwards as DH wanted to ask about HBing and I think he was reassured when the MW said to think of HBing as essentially the same as going to a birth centre, except birth centre would be closer to obstetric ward if probs arose. Got a phone no. to call to have the Gas & air delivered !

37 weeks today! Might finally order that bleedin' pram today...

perpetuallypregnant congratulations, and what a lovely story. You make it sound dare I say easy- v. encouraging for a 1st timer!

loopy might have to see if I can 'catch up' on the Multiples TV show. Have you seen any of those "Misbehaving mum's to be" ones? They made me quite angry
