Hello,
Started a new thread ladies, fingers crossed it works xx

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KaraStarbuckThrace · 31/03/2011 13:38

Jasmine - Shock at the builders, glad you got the boss to sort them out!
Am impressed at you tickling baby's feet!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 31/03/2011 13:56

Quick question.

What's the least amount of wee you can take as a wee sample for the MW? After being on and off the loo all yesterday afternoon and evening as a result of LO playing games in there, today it's gone quiet and I've only managed a dribble. (sorry that was a bit TMI)

8rubberduckies · 31/03/2011 14:15

Confessions I forgot to take a sample last time and only managed a dribble on demand Blush; they were quite happy with this.

takethatlady · 31/03/2011 15:12

Grin 8rd at that link Grin Grin

I'm totally with you on pink/blue by the way. We're already massively succumbing, but I just don't get it. What's wrong with yellow, or green, or red, or white, or orange, or purple? What terrible thing is going to happen to my daughter if she wears a pair of blue dungarees? Luckily DH is totally with me on this one, though nobody else is!

moomin that's such lovely news about Florence. 11 days already! I bet it seems like no time and like the longest time ever ...

mn2 I am excited for you and your wedding. How's it all going?

PMSL at the ladies who've walked out of their GTTs - mine's next week and if they fuck me around, I'm going to give them the Jue in June treatment Grin

coaaf I forgot my wee sample the time before last and she didn't even make me do one Grin

jasmine I'm so going to try that! Will let you know the results ...

AlmightyCitrus · 31/03/2011 15:25

moomin You're both doing really well. 11 days already!

confessions Hash browns were on the menu, and very nice they were too!
kara It was a good fry up, but I wasn't too keen on the sausage, but DH managed to force it down, so it wasn't wasted. Grin

I rang my mum to tell her what happened and she was furious that they had made me wait. I'm contemplating taking her along to my midwife appointment next week (when I am sure to get told off) so she can have a go back! Feisty old bird is mother!

I've got some fantastic multi-vitamins here which turn your wee the colour of limeade! I think I might take one before my appointment....might take her mind of my GTT walk out!

cameli · 31/03/2011 15:36

Sorry to moan but I've just been diagnosed with obstetric choliastasis & I'm a bit worried. Have to take 2 pills every day, go for weekly bloodtests and monitoring at the hospital and will have to deliver at approx 37 weeks.

I am already further along with this pregnancy as I'm 31+5 today than my last as I delivered via emcs at 31+2.

Just before I got the call from the midwife I was already at the hospital having an emergency physio appointment as I've been in so much pain with PGP, now I feel rotten as everything seems to be going wrong :(

8rubberduckies · 31/03/2011 16:00

Cameli that's rotten, feel very Sad for you. Just had to Google choliostasis Blush, so can't help much. Just keep in mind the end result, your lovely perfect baby. I know this sounds unlikely at the moment, as you are feeling so bad, but all of this will fade into insignificance once you have your baby in your arms. On a lighter note, you are not missing anything missing out the last 3 weeks either!

SavannahRose · 31/03/2011 16:33

Hey ladies

Due 17th June have been on here before....

Hit me today (currently 29 weeks) that its not long now until the L day :( getting anxious as i know i'm a wuss. Plus this is my second but its worse this time be'cus i know whats coming and was in labour 4 days with first :(

Plus people are telling me that they dont think i will go the whole 40 weeks as i have carried low all the way through my preg and baby's head went down at 27 weeks. Even midwife said she would bet money on her coming early so have LESS than i think maybe?? Have been telling myself to stop watching One Born but can't and am forever googling labour and birth. Just can't help myself, and the days are flying by!!!

Anyone else getting scared?
xx

sasamaxx · 31/03/2011 18:03

Sorry to hear that cameli - fingers crossed the pills keep it under control for you.

SavannahRose - was your labour ok last time apart from being very long? You do sound very anxious about it - perhaps more than normal. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow, and I'm honestly not dreading labour at all yet. Perhaps it would help to go through your labour notes with your midwife Smile

Well done gettig the builder mess sorted so quickly Jasmine - how lucky that you knew all about the material and could put them straight.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 31/03/2011 18:15

My tiny wee sample was plenty Grin and all clear Grin.

NurseSunshine · 31/03/2011 18:22

Moomin So glad Florence has her tubes out. What a little fighter! Can't believe she's 11 days old. Hope you're not getting too stressed and tired expressing, at least you know that every time you do you're helping Florence grow stronger. In fact, seeing how well she's doing, you must be making some kind of super milk!

Savannah, they do say second labours are a lot quicker so it probably won't take 4 days this time. I think the only thing you can do is try to approach it as relaxed as possible (easier said than done, I know). Have you tried pg yoga or hypnobirthing or something like that, aimed to help you relax at the prospect of birth? Not everyone's cup of tea but maybe worth a go?

Cameli just had a quick google and OC sounds horrid :( So sorry you've got it and are in pain, I don't blame you for feeling down. 37 weeks isn't so bad though, at least baby will be full term by then.

MN2 OMG TWO DAYS!!! Are you nervous?

Joanne I'm 29 weeks today as well :) And, unfortunately, know exactly how you feel re sleep. I woke up THREE times last night and then it took me ages to get back to sleep so I am just knackered. Also had horrid nightmares when I was asleep and woke up at one point on my back and both my hands were numb. Which panicked me massively. Hope you can work from home, then you can have lots of naps :)

Am just about to post my own bump pics, I think you'll agree I am looking simply radiant... Grin

jasmine51 · 31/03/2011 18:39

LOL at your bump picture Nurse I can see the likeness!

Quick question for anyone - how do TopShop maternity sizes come up? I was just given a bag of lovely maternity stuff by a lady who is significantly less 'generous of boob' than me so nothing fits. Her stuff was all size 10 so I would like to order some of the same but in larger sizes. Whats the verdict?

NurseSunshine · 31/03/2011 19:17

Hmm no idea I'm afraid. I would take it off your hands if I wasn't size a million by now! I tend to stay away from Topshop as I just look like a bag lady who's been rummaging through a model's bins :( I can't "do" fashion. You could always order stuff and send it back if it didn't fit.
How come all of your friends are post pregnant and v generous?!

jasmine51 · 31/03/2011 19:37

Nurse probably because I'm old and my friends are too, so they have done their baby thing and can be certain there are not going to be any more. Oh and because I live in a very small house amongst extremely large ones and everyone feels sorry for the poor neighbour! Not complaining though...I'll take anything!

NurseSunshine · 31/03/2011 19:40

Damn my equally poor friends!

jasmine51 · 31/03/2011 20:34

I'm going to ask what she wants me to do with this stuff - she may say to pass it on to someone else in which case I will have a very large bundle of mainly JoJo and Top Shop size 10 tops and bottoms including 3 tankinis to offer on here for the price of postage which would be nice.
There was an spd band in there though and I've snaffled that!

sasamaxx · 31/03/2011 20:49

Jasmine I'm v jealous of your generous hand-me-downs too Envy
Nurse love the bump pic Grin

8rubberduckies · 31/03/2011 21:30

jasmine I have got the most fabulous maternity dress from Topshop, which has already seen me through pregnancy with ds and is again back on as soon as its dried on the radiator! I also bought a top from there with some of my Christmas money and I got given a maternity Tshirt. The dress is stretchy, but my main criticism of the top and Tshirt is that they are quite short on me (I'm 5ft8), and they are both already getting a bit tight around the bump (29 weeks). Obviously designed for ladies with neat bumps, not size 16-18 beached whales!

Savannah I am scared about labour too. I am going to arrange a home visit from my midwives once I am on maternity leave to talk through everything, and have done various other things which are helping a bit, so pm me if you want a chat with a fellow nervous Mum! I had the opposite problem to you, and had a very swift yet intense labour.

Nurse which photographer took your bump pic? I would like their phone number, it is so beautiful and evocative, something to really treasure Grin Grin. On a serious note though after seeing Nmh and Sasamaxx's photos though I've even been toying with getting some professional ones done.

Joannezipan · 31/03/2011 21:50

Nurse I have to confess I went a step further and just called in sick. I think I might do the same tomorrow and try and get some sleeping done to get fit for next week. I'm so tired I seem to have turned into a Zombie!

Kara annoying about your builders, but i'm glad you have them whipped into shape!

All this talk of GTT tests is making me hope I don't have to have one, I did the lucozade challenge and came in at the high range of normal, but I have a bigger bump than baby which is another sign and apparently the hospital might want to check me after my scan next friday - i'm very excited about that! The scan not the test!

Also my friend has been painting our ex-spare room to become the babies room and finished today. It looks really lovely. We have two duck egg blue walls and the rest is white to go with the dark blue carpet. I love it so much. I'm really grateful he would come and help us out while we are working. Now all we have to do is put the carpet down and put the nice bits back in and get some furniture and we are ready to go! Well in that regard anyway! :o

GoodVibrations · 31/03/2011 21:53

Wow Moomin that?s amazing progress!! Hurray for Florence! And all that expressing, you should be so proud of yourself. I expressed for 2 weeks when DD was being tube fed and found it incredibly difficult. I did use the double pump and it was like being milked!!!! You?re doing a fab job

Mummy married in 2 days, that?s come around so fast!! You must be really excited now :)

Jasmine your flourescent green wee story made me laugh!! I went to the midwife after eating beetroot, so I had pink wee!! Also had to explain that there was no problem, just too much beetroot. I strongly advise people not to eat asparagus before giving a sample!!

Nomore & Sasa thanks for the photo tips, will try again this weekend

Cameli I?m so sorry to hear you have choliastasis. I have been so down with the PGP alone, so can?t imagine how much worse you must feel. Getting past your previous delivery date is a big milestone, you can do this :)

Savannah and 8RD I?m really scared too. I had a labour debrief which helped, but I still have minor panics when I think about labour (so have stopped thinking about it and now burying my head in the sand.......!). Last labour very fast, intense and scary, I felt so out of control. Major panic that this one may be even quicker Shock

Nurse gorgeous photo!!!

tinyk · 31/03/2011 22:09

Have to unload! Sorry everyone. DH has been working on a deal that completes today. At 530 he left me a message saying he'd try to be home early, given he's been getting in at c. 1230am all week and leaving at 6 (which really helps me sleep of course!!!). So where the @@@@ is he? No answer on the phone, dinner gone cold, and now I've given up and gone to bed. He needs to realize he's not single any more and realize there are THREE of us (plus cat- that makes 4!) who need some care and attention every now and then!! Grrrr.

Ok. Angry tears then sleep.

Thanks gals, needed this.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 31/03/2011 22:20

I'm not going to have a labour this time. My adorable little baby is just going to appear in my arms while DH looks harrased and exhausted after cutting the cord. All this with only G&A again of course Grin
Savannah care to join me in the miracle ward?

I will not be taking any belly shots as my half in half out belly button is just to disturbing.

Cameli that really sucks. Fingers crossed for you that you and your LO stay well enough to not deliver for several more weeks.

Right off to bed now. Fingers crossed I sleep as well as I did last night. Will make sure there is plenty of reading material by the bed just encase though.

tinyk sorry he's being so thoughtless - hope he gets home soon, suitably contrite. Try to just take a deep breath and think about something else - it's not good for you to get stressed and upset Smile
