Hello,
Started a new thread ladies, fingers crossed it works xx

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My consultant said to get in touch straight away if the smaller twin doesn't seem to be moving. So since Friday I have been totally paranoid and been trying to work out if she is kicking all the time(which is tricky when there are twice as many limbs). Had a quiet early evening and was starting to panic but glad to report that the last hour or so shes defo been kicking Grin.

Was going to buy the BT 150 monitor which was around £60-£70 but just found it on line at Amazon for £48!

Having a girlie night in on Friday- lots of my friends have been so lovely the last few days. And thanks again to everyone on here- I've told DH that you are my 'online antenatal group' xx

8Rubber' talking about dreams reminded me to tell you about the dream I had the other day about all of you! We had a sort of meet up but it was in a big lecture theatre and we were having a sort I'd seminar. I was talking to you all about how to become a model [Confused]. I have absolutely no experience or knowledge if modelling and it's most unlikely that I ever will. Grin

Mummynumber2 · 21/03/2011 22:03

Glad to hear you're getting lots of kicks clarkiee Smile

I just read my last post and realised that there's a typo in almost every sentence! Blush must be time to go to sleep!

Haven't been able to catch up as I would like to announce that Florence Ruby was born yesterday 21st March at 7.32pm at 29 weeks weighing in at 2lb 11oz. She is in NICU and doing well with little support. My waters broke on sunday after a fabulous weekend away for our anniversary and she couldn't wait anylonger. Was given the steroids which helped her little lungs a lot. Very quick labour, just 75min from strong contractions. Glad she wasn't a 9lber, it was hard work :)

Me and DH are obviously very shell shocked but delighted. Completely not prepared for an early baby....she obviously had heard me gloating about my early mat leave and being a lady of leisure!and thought right, ill soon put a stop to that.

Learning to hand express my milk at the min but we should be able to hold her later today and feed her later in the week if all goes to plan...as long as she stays as well as she does.

Will try to update when I can but just phone and hospital reception rubbish. Hope the rest of you are all ok...*nd I haven't missed anything to major

Merlion · 22/03/2011 03:45

Moomin wow you don't do things by halves! I wondered what someone was doing posting at this time in the morning.

Many many congratulations! What a lovely name and hope things continue to go well. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help - must go update the stats page on our first arrival.

cameli · 22/03/2011 07:24

Oh my goodness moomin, congratulations. I'm sure Florence will continue to do well. My son was born slightly later at 31+2 but it was almost 15 years ago & spent 4 weeks in NICU so I know how you feel. I hired a pump from NCT which was industrial strength & loaned at special rates because he was in NICU, I then breastfed for 18 months!!

Take each day a step at a time. I will be thinking of you. Well done.xx

LisasCat · 22/03/2011 07:25

Oh wow, our first baby. Congratulations, and glad everything went well. And three cheers for modern medicine, Florence sounds like she's doing great and in the very best of hands (sorry - any opportunity to acknowledge our wonderful NHS).

Jer79 · 22/03/2011 07:25

Moomin
CONGRATULATIONS!! I can't believe you are so calm, you must be over the moon and absolutely knackered! That is a gorgeous name. How are you? It must have been a very nerve-wracking time and I hope you and Florence and your husband are all really well if a bit dazed. Will she be in the hospital for a little while? HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, just thrilled for you!

neenewps · 22/03/2011 07:26

Congratulations moomin what fabulous news to wake up to this morning. So pleased that little Florence Ruby is doing well. And wow, what a surprise for you both :)

Keep us posted on how you are all doing. Has suddenly made me realise that I am very under prepared for this babies arrival!!!

Glad you managed to get your weekend in with DH before she arrived too :D

neenewps · 22/03/2011 07:31

Wow moomin many congratulations! You seem super calm but you've spurred me into action and I'm going to get my labour bag sorted this week. Actually I should have learnt my lesson after last time when I didn't even have my hospital bag at 38 weeks last time. My husband did well at bringing in what I needed but he didn't have a clue about baby things and instead of what I asked for only bought in loads of tiny baby vests. For a snowy January born baby. Luckily his grandmother turned up with sleepsuits just before.

For those mentioning food down the cleavage, I got undressed for bed the other night and found bran flakes in my bra, i hadn't even realised they had been there all day.

Had a midwife appointment yesterday to keep an eye on growth as I had a smaller than average baby last time, now i know that measuring the bump is not a very reliable test but i got quite scared as current bump size indicates a baby way over 10 pounds at term. Please be wrong midwives!

jasmine51 · 22/03/2011 08:12

moomin hugest congrats and welcome to Florence. Wow she was in a hurry to get into the world! A spiritual lady once said to me that prem babies were generally the ones who were looking forward to their earthly adventure so much they just wanted to get it all started asap...I loved that idea..

I also absolutely adore your names. The rest of you might like to know that Florence was our name choice my friend laughed at over the weekend so the fact that someone else thinks its a goodun has really boosted me today, thankyou. Of course, we are not going to get to use it anyway unless all our scans are wrong and we get a DD...or we go really off the wall with our DSs names!

Still feeling rough and a bit down but have another scan this afternoon so hoping to wave at LO again to cheer myself up x

sasamaxx · 22/03/2011 08:54

WOW - CONGRATULATIONS Moomin Grin Grin Grin
And welcome to the world Florence Ruby - beautiful name.
Well done - keep us all posted with her progress - good luck with the hand expressing - will they give you a pump if you have difficulty? (I can't hand express at all)

BarbieLovesKen · 22/03/2011 09:48

I just cant believe it!!!. I've come into work and am having a sneaky catch up before I get stuck in - did not expect to hear one of us had a baby!!!. Insane pregnant woman that I am, I've burst into tears Grin Moomin huge congratulations on your little girl. What a truely beautiful and classic name. Im sure your in shock right now, if you can please try pop on and let us know how you and Florence are. We'll be thinking of you both.

Oh my God!!!! Grin

BarbieLovesKen · 22/03/2011 09:48

And just to think - Nurse only said yesterday "I wonder who'll be first" had me pondering too...

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 22/03/2011 09:53

Moomin Shock and Grin for you. So pleased to hear that little miss Florence is doing well after her surprise early entry. Lovely name too. Good luck xx

Moomin, Big Big Congratulations to you and your DH..!! Its a real surprise..So glad that things went well. You sound so calm and composed and seem to have taken it in your stride, very well. Am sure Florence will be absolutely fine.

And, echoing other comments..I too felt so emotional..we've all been in this virutal group for the past however weeks/months and regularly updating and catching up..

And yes, certainly, it has made me to reconsider my preparation schedule, which to the surprise of many of you, is only at the stage of making lists, not one thing bought so far..Brave or stupid, i don't know..! And to think that I am 28+ weeks And its our 1st, so no prior experience or things-from-last-time...

Well, but, I have a PhD thesis to submit, which I am still hoping (or rather dreaming) will be done before the arrival ..!

On that note, I better get back to that boring (masterpiece) draft thesis of mine..and the revisions and corrections..!

mrswantstobeamum · 22/03/2011 11:32

Congratulations Moomin and welcome to the world Florence Ruby! What a lovely name. I hope you'll be able to take her home with you sooner rather than later. Please share more details about the birth when you get the chance!

mrswantstobeamum · 22/03/2011 11:35

On a separate note, can I ask how much weight everyone has gained? I weighed myself this morning and have gained 30 lbs Shock at 27+4. I feel fairly fit and don't seem to have gained weight anywhere other than my bump (which is mostly hard) and boobs, but I'm a bit worried as the guidance is to gain 25-30 lbs during the entire pregnancy.

AlmightyCitrus · 22/03/2011 11:56

Aww, congratulations Moomin, I'm glad she's doing well and what a lovely name.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 22/03/2011 12:45

Moomin - CONGRATULATIONS what a lovely name you have picked Smile Hope you and your beautiful DD are doing well and are being well looked after!

Mrs - weight gain varies a lot, honestly wouldn't get too hung up on it. I have gained about a stone but I was very heavy to begin with, MW not at all concerned. I think I gained about 3 stone when I had DS!

Saw MW, all okay got an appt booked for end of April to discuss birth plan and also booked to visit my hospital. So it is all happening!
