North West here. Been wearing my Serola belt for the last two days now. It does seem to be helping. Thinking about it logically, I should really have worn it from the beginning but I guess I was too proud to admit I might need it!

Anyhow, off to bed now. Some of need a little extra beauty sleep!

Fab123 · 13/03/2011 22:37

I'm in East Kent - bloody miles from anything useful but not quite as many miles away as Fraochsmum! Used to live in West Kent and Surrey so used to being nearer some action really.

My his are aching but no idea what it is - get stiff when I stand and sometimes feels like my hip is going to pop out. All pelvis/lower back area. A friend gave me a support strap (medical looking velcro contraption) that her sister gave her for her pg but I don't know how to strap it properly so I've left it alone Confused

Having a bit of a teary night feeling lonely. Hate Sunday evenings alone!

buttonmoon78 · 14/03/2011 07:16

Poor you Fab. It sounds to me like the dreaded SPD possibly. When do you next see your midwife? If it's not within days I suggest you go and see the most sympathetic gp at your practice. Ask for some support in terms of physio etc as an urgent referral. Cry if you have to! When you get to see the physio then take the support with you and they'll tell you a) if it's appropriate and b) how to use it. In the meantime check out the Pelvic Partnership website as they have some excellent tips on how to help on a day to day basis.

What make is the belt? Not all supports are equal!

Another question ladies! How much weight have you all put on? So far I've gained 6lbs which (as I'm sort of trying-ish to be good so I put less strain on my hips/back) I'm quite pleased with but my mind's gone totally blank and I don't know if it's good or whether you're all going to take one look at that and go 'what a heifer'! Grin

Well, the sun is shining and it's a lovely day. Off now to get dressed and ready for work. Think I'll be on my own in the office a lot so expect to see a lot of me!!

SpannerPants · 14/03/2011 07:50

I've put on a stone Button - I hadn't weighed myself for 3 months so it was a bit of a shock! I'm still a size 12, can do the zips up on all my old trousers just not the buttons, so I think it's mainly gone onto boobs/bump but I'm developing a lovely double chin Hmm It doesn't help that the taste/smell of most veg makes me feel sick and I've gone off meat, all I want to eat is cheese sandwiches at the moment.

My cold has just about gone so I'm feeling much better, but I had a horrible dream last night that the baby was born now and was being resuscitated in front of me - I guess I shouldn't have watched that 23 week baby program!

I've got a few days of annual leave this week so am going to enjoy being a lady of leisure and spend some time reading and sleeping when I want to :)

PS. I'm in Leicestershire

LadyGoneGaga · 14/03/2011 07:56

I'm in Warwickshire. Quite handy as we can get to most places (bar Scotland) quite quickly - only an hour and half from London.

Not sure how much weight have put on Buttonmoon - I have just got on scales to check. Gulp, just over two stone at 21 weeks Shock. No wonder my bump is massive!!! Think you're doing very well! I put on loads with DS though. Had lost it all and back in size 10 by time he was about 6 months so not going to freak.

Orchid12 · 14/03/2011 08:15

I'm in Nottingham. I've put on a stone so far, which is pretty much the same as with DS by this stage as far as I can recall. I feel that my bump is much bigger this time though - maybe it's the lack of stomach muscles!

Fab123 · 14/03/2011 09:06

Ah, thanks for the web advice Button - I'm off to Slovakia on Wednesday though so I won't have a chance to see anyone before then.. It feels better this morning though after I chilled out and watched some films last night. No idea on the make of the strap - has nothing on it and is a kind of grey/beige colour.
Pea has been kicking up a storm! Even with the anterior placenta she's having a field day in there! I feel I can tell the difference between legs and arms at the moment :)
Belly button is creeping outwards though Shock I knew the day would come but it's going to take some getting used to. I had such a deep inny sigh

SpannerPants · 14/03/2011 09:15

That's what I'm dreading Fab - I have a really deep bellybutton and if it ends up sticking out it will look like a thimble .

inbetweener · 14/03/2011 09:19

Im in South London and im off for my scan in half an hour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Grin

confuddledDOTcom · 14/03/2011 09:57

Just a quickie, I'm still here just never sat down long enough to catch up properly. Will try to later though.

LadyGoneGaga, that's our second home! We're getting married next year in a big old house around there and my eldest loves it! I have a Merlin Pass so up there all the time. We're from Birmingham so it's a nice day out on the train or when I can drag someone along for a lift.

buttonmoon78 · 14/03/2011 10:04

Can't wait to see what Inbetweener's getting!

I feel better about my 6lbs now then. I think I was having a little down turn as when I put my Serola on, it drew attention to how much of my bump was actually fat and not baby! The thing is, you see, I've only put 6lbs on but I'm about 2.5 stone over my ideal weight to begin with Blush So I shouldn't put too much on anyway!

Eglu · 14/03/2011 10:10

Morning all.

Good luck with the scan inbetweener.

I have put on 1.5 stone Shock I am eating like a pig though. Hopefully I won't put on any more than another stone. I did quite well in the first trimester too.

Can't wait to see mw on Thursday, partly to moan about PGP and partly because we start filling in the home birth paperwork which will make it all seem a bit more real.

nicolamumof3 · 14/03/2011 10:25

morning all, lovely sunshine today, i actually managed school run this morning instead of dh so thats fab!

As for the weight question, i very rarely weigh myself so only ever go by clothes. I know what to do to lose the weight after so i don't worry too much tbh. I've felt so crap this pg its more about how i feel than look Grin

good luck with scan inbetweener.

I bought a pink cot bumper on ebay last night...obviously trying not to stress if the scan is wrong Smile

Badgerwife · 14/03/2011 11:46

fraochsmum my commute is 3 hours in total per day i.e. 1.5hrs getting in and 1.5 hrs getting out. I used to have a job 15 mins away from home years ago, and I miss it terribly. This is a season in my life I will not miss! Thankfully I had a midwife appointment this morning so I'm working from home.

Glad to hear you're feeling better nicola, I feel very lucky that it's been going well so far from me apart from the ms in December. Hang in there.

buttonmoon78 · 14/03/2011 13:10

Come on Inbetweener I'm on tenterhooks here!

Eglu · 14/03/2011 13:37

The sunshine certainly does cheer you up.

Does anyone else realise how far along we are when you see antenatal clubs for November now? Makes me realise how far we have come on here. Grin

Mitchell81 · 14/03/2011 16:46

I can't believe I am 24 weeks today. Only 14 maybe 15 weeks to go. Time is flying. I am waiting now for 28 week Gestational diabetes test, scan and consultant to get the all important section date. Very exciting. Will be having an end of June baby should I move to the June antenatal thread or are you all happy for me to stay here? Also wearing my hip belt and it definetley is helping, wish I didn't need it though as things can only get worse. Luckily belly button always stays in, fingers crossed it stays put this time aswell. Enjoying pregnancy at the moment and sounds like everyone is doing well despite the odd pregnancy niggle.

inbetweener · 14/03/2011 16:46

Hello all Grin
Weight wise ive only put on about 7lb but i'm in exactly the same situation as buttonmoon as I was a bit ...ahem.....overweight to start with.

So.....I had my scan, all fine, the placenta has moved and everything looks normal and bugger me....after 2 girls its only a bloody boy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Shock Shock
I was stunned. DH just sat there lol !

I was so prepared for another girl and financially and realistically a little girl would have been so easier but now ...well.....I grinned from ear to ear when she said she saw a willy and scrotum lol !!!

I honestly cant believe it !!! I will have a son !!!!

I now have a housefull as its DD1's birthday today and ive got six 8 and 9 year olds running about Hmm I dont even wanna look in the bedroom !!!!!!!!!!

confuddledDOTcom · 14/03/2011 17:18

Mitchell I think your EDD is more important. I'll be having a May baby but I have more in common with this group because you're all a similar gestation to me and going through similar things.

That's so exciting Inbetweener - congratulations!

LadyGoneGaga · 14/03/2011 17:44

Wow - fab news Inbetweener! He is going to get ruined with two big sisters and doting parents. Very exciting.

nicolamumof3 · 14/03/2011 19:34

congratulations inbetweener, i know so many people this year and last who have had a different sex after 3 or more the same its so so exciting!

scarthy1975 · 14/03/2011 20:15

Congratulations Inbetweener.

I live in West Midlands, I have put on just over 1 stone so far - I think I put on 2 stone in total last time so quite happy so far.

Seems like a lot of you are suffering with SPD etc so my thoughts are with you all - I don't know if its age but I don't seem to be breezing through this pregnancy as easily as last time. I have days when I have loads of energy and then others when I'm shattered just getting out of bed!

Looking forward to OBEM - looks like there are a couple of idiotic men this time lol.

highheelsandequations · 14/03/2011 20:23

congratulations inbetweener

I'm in Fife and have no idea how much weight I've put on so far but at booking appointment my BMI had increased from usual 19 to 22!! Sure I've put on at least a stone already but looks like it's all on bump so as long as it doesn't start spreading I'm not going to worry.

I've also been feeling like I might be starting to suffer with SPD but as I'm new to all this I'm not completely sure. It's on my mental list (that I really should write down before I forget!) of things to ask the midwife next week.

I also ate some cheese that's naughty tonight, but it was cooked first, so that's okay isn't it?

cara2244 · 14/03/2011 21:49

Nottingham here.

I've put on a stone I think!

highheels I scoffed loads of brie and camembert in half term when on holiday...I kind of justified it to myself thinking it was OK as it's pasteurised... then remembered it wasn't. I think cooked is OKish. Check on NHS choices website.

On a positive note, after 6 weeks of back/hip pain getting worse and worse, it has actually got better over the last few days. Amazing. I don't know whether it's the yoga I've been doing and the various changes I've made to lifestyle, such as sitting down more, support belt and making my son climb everywhere. I have a physio appointment in a couple of weeks. It took me 3 days of ringing every couple of minutes for half an hour to get through, so I think that tells me how bad the pain was at that point! I can now get up the stairs without hanging from the rail. Lovely!

Eglu how many weeks are you? My MW said that we would talk about homebirth at my 34 week appt if everything was still progressing normally. I'm now thinking about getting a birthing pool in the house as a friend has one I can borrow. Even if I end up going in maybe I could use it first. But if it's as quick as my first labour, there won't be any time for contracting in a pool. I guess I have it in my head that I was just lucky and it won't be as quick this time.

inbetweener congratulations. Little boys are so cute, especially when they discover their willies lol!!!
