buttonmoon78 · 11/03/2011 10:35

Oo, you glam thing you, Inbetweener! You've got me hungry though. I have a creme egg stashed in my desk which might have to get eaten just now Grin

inbetweener · 11/03/2011 11:16

PMSL...I am far from glam I am esentially wearing someone elses castoffs Blush. I have a very attractive pair of big pants on under these well worn black maternity trousers. ( which I am still hitching up by the way ! What is with that !!! )

I ate my hotcross bun....and a banana....I also have maltesers.....Blush

buttonmoon78 · 11/03/2011 11:23

Grin I'm now on to my Walker's salt & vinegar crisps and eyeing up my Ploughman's sarnie...

The thing is, if I saw you walking down the street I'd think 'what a glam lady all dolled up' not 'look at her, she's obviously wearing someone else's clothes!' Maternity clothes are great to get as cast offs as they don't get very much wear at all!

Oh, and my trews are permanently heading southwards. I tried to run (well, jog in a shuffly way) to get to a shop before it closed last night. I failed but that was because DH was laughing at me so hard I thought he was being sick. Apparently I was in grave danger of exposing my granny pants gorgeous sexy underwear!

inbetweener · 11/03/2011 11:50

LOL !! Grin Grin Grin

I was surprised at how much they go for on Ebay actually. i will def be selling mine after this third and final pg !!
One bundle in particular went for £82 !!! When I think I just chucked mine away 7 years away !!! Shock

Right must eat my maltesers do some work Grin

Want2bSupermum · 11/03/2011 17:06

So true regarding maternity stuff. I avoided trousers and went for dresses though and went to a high end store (pea in a pod) and went through the sale rack. I got six dresses for just under $300. Considering that full price one dress was marked at $349 I was very happy with my purchases. I also plan to wear them throughout all pregnancies. They are plain office type dresses which are quite flattering. DH and I plan to have 3 so I will get some use out of the stuff.

I am very jealous of anyone who can wear maternity pants. I have tried on over 20 pairs and have yet to find a pair that fit. They tend to look awful on me and if they have any polyester in them my legs itch like mad.

Fab123 · 11/03/2011 18:46

Hi everyone, lots to catch up on! Hope Confuddled is OK?

Been racing around but not seeming to get much done tbh! Made some bunting the other day and my friend has asked me to do some for her 3 yr old's room so that will keep me busy. Find I have lots to do around the house but stuff everywhere so keep putting off tidying up before The Big Clean, which I have convinced myself will happen. Think I went into overdrive a little early as I seem to have everything I will need until 6 months (bar nappies, wipes and a car seat) and now have even run out of ideas to make that won't clog up the house still further! Blush

I meant to ask, has anyone found maternity flight tights anywhere? I'm flying to Bratislava next week and want something that will cover more leg than just the sock Confused as i'm getting slightly puffy legs and feet already (dreading summer and my legs swelling already!).

Anyone else found they can concentrate on books again too? I went through a nasty phase of only reading complete tripe What To Expect by Heidi Jurkoff Hmm. Not pleasant, but over now thankfully Grin

nicolamumof3 · 11/03/2011 19:18

what an afternoon i've had.

five hours in hospital on ante natal..dishcharged myself couldn't wait any longer so Sad

well the background was i have had a pain under my ribcage all week really horrible dull constant 24/7 ache which gets worse and comes/goes. Saw a friend this morning mentioned it to her, said i should def get checked worried me a little.

Rang hospital said i need to get checked but they are full. Could i get to next hospital about 15miles away, said not really, but would have to. They then rang back said Maidstone hosptial full to so to come there anyway Confused

got there at 1.15, finally got a room at 2.45 (its a new hospital amazing facilities all private rooms etc) mw did obs straight away all fine. im still in pain. Still feeling sick with ms. Dh leaves to collect boys school and nursery. At 6pm he comes back tot get me. Im freezing cold in room, hungry thirsty i leave the hospital in tears after having to discharge myself agains the mw advice. Im still none the wiser what the pain is. I just couldn't wait there any longer. Home now on my own comfy bed in warm slippers and dh made me a cuppa. Horrible experience. Don't ever want to go back there. Fingers crossed this placenta moves up, as i am now considering a hb.

Fab123 · 11/03/2011 19:45

Oh nicola you poor thing :( Sounds like a hellish day. How are the pains now? Were they waiting for any results of tests when you left? I wonder if they will folllow up with you? I hope you feel better very soon. Chocolate handy? x

nicolamumof3 · 11/03/2011 20:23

nope no chocolate, i'd love some!!

they hadn't done any tests just normal obs which were all fine, heartbeat, temp and urine all fine. But they were waiting on doctor to see me as still concerned.

pain is dull ache now comes and goes sharper pains. and have a hard lump about the size of a 50p just right below rib cage.

cara2244 · 11/03/2011 21:28

nicola that's awful! Are you going to try and get back to the hospital again? I hope you manage to get some peace of mind.
I know it's not the same level of problem, but I had to ring the physio 5-10 times three mornings this week before I finally got through. It's only because I work part time that I could sit pressing redial at 9am. If I was full time, I couldn't do that in my job.
Is it the recession or has the NHS always been like this and I've just never noticed??

cara2244 · 11/03/2011 21:31

inbetweener I have been eating like a horse this week. We got a Chinese tonight as my dad and his girlfriend were over. Everyone had long since left the table and I was still chomping!

buttonmoon78 · 12/03/2011 10:06

Poor you Nic - I hope everything's ok.

Hoping Confuddled is ok too. I feel a bit bad that I'm just getting into the swing of being pg again and she's sat there wondering if her's is soon to be ending. Must be constantly stressful. Thinking of you C.

I think my SPD may be rearing it's ugly head. I walked to school on Thursday afternoon (only a mile each way) and had some quite bad stretching pains in my hips all evening. I was hoping it was because I was walking with DH who walks very fast and has go go gadget legs compared with my little Welsh pit pony stumps but I'm not so sure. Then yesterday and this morning if I'm sat whilst my bum is unsupported (ie on the loo Grin) it's quite painful and my lower back is constantly crunching and moving. Think it's time to break out the Serola belt... Thankfully I've got an appointment with the GP tomorrow to discuss my eczema so will ask for my referral to the physio then too I think. Must dig my crutches out of the garage too. They're way at the back so I need to be able to get at them before I get too big!

Having a nice meal tonight. DH has just submitted the first two proper tenders for our new company, one of which we're almost certain to get so we're having a little celebration - scrambled duck eggs with smoked salmon, pot roasted boar haunch with shallots & red wine gravy with buttery mash. All washed down with a glass of fizz. Yum. Even better, most of it was in the freezer so won't cost a lot Grin. Still watching the pennies until we get paid by some clients. It's very boring but we still have a good standard of living compared with a lot so I shouldn't grumble at all really.

Phew - that was long. Good vibes to those who need them.

JimmyChoo17 · 12/03/2011 15:44

Hey just checked In to see if any news on confuddled

Hope you are ok hon!? Xx

Have had another good week which is good....had a few blips with back, nose and headaches but no where near as bad as before. Am enjoying getting nursery sorted now.

Lil bean has been moving about a fair bit all of a sudden these past 2 nights which is nice. Although I keep getting a sensation of something scrapping nails on me insides?! It's not too often but it's uncomfortable when it does. Hubby still hasn't felt it. Naughty b,bay sits still when he outs his hand on bump. Have been craving cider this week bizarrely...I don't even normally like it. I think it's because I am really into apples at the moment. Have not given in to cider but have an apple crumble at the ready for dessert tomorrow.

Hope everyone is ok and all is well with confuddled. X

nicolamumof3 · 12/03/2011 15:49

Afternoon all, im ok today. Not feeling great but not feeling as if i need to get checked out immediately, have gp's appointment about my spd returning on thurs so can discuss then.

Feel several complications creeping in. Placenta Praevia, GTT test next month, and SPD of course.

Yes im worried about confuddled too, do hope she's ok?

Jimmy that sounds uncomfortable sensation. Im sure this baby is breech atm as all my kicks so low down the boys were all head done all the time.

Just have alot on atm, my stepmum was in hospital having op for breast cancer and have funeral on monday too. So all quite stressful. Still feeling and being sick. yuck.

Lovely sunshine tho this morning Smile

Want2bSupermum · 12/03/2011 15:50

hey nicola - saw your other post. I would be so upset too. Are you feeling any better today?

I would also speak to your GP and see if there is anything they can do to help. My mother was a nurse and worked for the NHS. When it looked like we were moving to Manchester she told me to pay to see the consultant for one appointment and then have them add you to their NHS care list. She said that this was, in her opinion, the fastest way most people jumped themselves up lists and got their treatment faster.

Want2bSupermum · 12/03/2011 15:51

nicola - I would call your GP on Monday and have them see you ASAP. I wouldn't wait till Thursday.

buttonmoon78 · 12/03/2011 16:43

Nor would I Nic. Have a pg strop - you're allowed. Get yourself seen asap so you can relax a bit.

I had a pg strop this week on behalf of my son. Got an appt from May moved to Tuesday am. It works Grin

SpannerPants · 12/03/2011 19:56

Hope you're ok Confuddled - thinking of you at the moment!

I agree with the others Nic, I would get in touch with the GP earlier if I were you.

I think the baby has been having a growth spurt this week as I have been incredibly tired and hungry, and I can feel definite kicks really strongly now! DP even felt one on Thursday Grin

I seem to have picked up a virus - sore throat, headache and a weird rash on my tummy/legs, but the baby is moving a lot so I'm going to stick to regular paracetamol and fluids for now. I can't believe how paranoid pregnancy has made me though, I don't usually worry about every little ache and pain.

nicolamumof3 · 12/03/2011 20:51

it certainly does spanner Smile

button im feeling a bit better tbh this evening had something to eat out so just chilling and waiting for casualty. the hard lump is still there, but not as painful which is good.

enjoy your evenings everyone x

Fraochsmum · 13/03/2011 09:13

Sorry to hear about your experience nicola Sad it might be prudent to visit GP tomorrow right enough.

Button that made me laugh! Glad your OH didn't make himself sick laughing x

inbetweener I also got a maternity bundle from ebay last pg and it was fantastic! I have always worn hand-me-down/second hand clothes and always see them as being new to me Grin. I got a beautiful blue dress yesterday from New Look, it's really comfy and can be dressed up or down.

Hope you're feeling better spanner x

I have started to get slightly prominent veins on one of my legs so might start putting my feet up more often and avoiding my knee-high socks!
I went to a gig on Friday night and had the most amazing time! The Wonderstuff supported and were fabulous, and the Levellers were the best I've ever seen them. Thankfully my pain went away at the right time and I was able to dance about like a mad eejit! Whilst sitting down during the ballads of course Wink. Started seizing up on the way home, but it was so worth it!! I know there's a few of you who were thinking of selling your Take That tickets because it's so close to due date, but I hope you don't! I'm not a fan of them, but I know how hard lots of people have found it to get tickets in the first place and I assume it will be seated? Unless there is a long commute involved, I would be there with bells on!!

Speaking of commutes, did someone say they had a 3-hour one to work? I feel so sorry for you, it must make your day unbelievably long Sad We are so spoilt here - 5 mins tops and even get home for lunch! That is a really great service the train company offers though, and I would def go for the pass that lets you travel on 1st class as a pg person.

Finally not raining here today so will probably start my census work...making sure I'm home for the rugby of course Wink

JimmyChoo17 · 13/03/2011 20:28

nicolamumof3 · 13/03/2011 21:14

I feel shattered tonight normally stay up late but not tonight.

Eglu · 13/03/2011 21:28
