Glad you feel better. Your CMW might be able to help, they've got your GPs plus the doctors of whatever hospital they're attached to at their disposal and they might be able to speak to your consultant and GP and get something done quickly.

That's great news confuddled now let's hope you stay with us a bit longer Smile
I've been feeling further along than I ought, quite heavy and (ahem) puffy down below and I've got spots again. Oh and am (ahem again) looser (not more frequent though)
Blush
Am beginning to struggle with two school runs a day every day already I was hoping to get to June (36 weeks) before I found it this tiring.
Bizarrely though the pain has eased a bit (again) and I feel like I have just taken up bike riding I'm so stiff around there. I think BabyTwit has finally taken up the correct position as I'm getting a few nudges by my ribs, am more breathless and am getting (very mild) heartburn. DH hAs also said my bump has changed shape.
Am about to wash my nappies and I'm looking at soem (brace yourselves) washable sanitary towels so that once the blood has eased off I can switch and hopefully not get nappyrash this time Shock and am going to buy some jersey fabric for my wrap.
DS2 is home with a fever, headache and cough I really hjope I don't catch it, although DD and DS3 have both been coughing so not much chance I'll get away with it I suppose.
I think now I'm going to have a quick snooze.... Grin

Twit · 17/05/2011 13:10

Oh, and hadn't we better start thinking of a new name for our new thread soon?

Here are my suggestions.

'Yes I'm due in July; Yes I'm a Grumpy Arsed Fecker.'
or
'I'm due in July it had better be a crap summer'
or
'yes I am due in July and yes there is only one in there.'

Do you see what sort of mood I'm in Grin

buttonmoon78 · 17/05/2011 13:20

Tried to help but not much help at the moment. Was incensed that I'd been recommended to get antidepressants!

Has left a message for the cons sec (so have I) but without much hope. The next step is to check myself into the Assessment Unit and demand some pain relief.

Oh, the joys of pg!

buttonmoon78 · 17/05/2011 13:24

Twit you sound like me Grin

I've taken to wearing sunglasses at school (even when raining) for two reasons:

  1. no-one can see the huuuuge suitcases I'm lugging around under my eyes
  2. I can pretend I haven't seen anyone trying to make eye contact across the playground and therefore avoid some really unhelpful conversations

Also, ds's teacher said coming later by 5-10mins was an option so all the crush had died down. Think she was thinking of me, bump and crutches in a press, but I'm thinking of avoiding people!

Twit · 17/05/2011 14:34
Grin And don't forget they don't know you're frowning/glaring with sunglasses on either (am always wearing mine too) plus the sun makes me sneeze Fingers crossed for you though.
Fab123 · 17/05/2011 17:53

re: New Thread - how about 'July - Third and Final Frontier' or 'July - Pop before we drop'.

I'm creamed after walking around in town and having a sarnie with a friend who appears to have just been put into my ideal job as a legal sec doing French Conveyancing. She's sitting there panicking because she can't remember any French and I'm thinking 'why didn't that job come up when I was on the hunt?!' Hey ho!

I can however recommend BHS for summer trousers - just got a pair of cotton beige wide legged ones with elastic waist and a pair of same but as shorts. Elasticated waistband just like Noppies ones! Was a bit worried as we've apparently got this heatwave coming and I've just got baby oil on the arse of my only surviving pair of jeans... :(

buttonmoon78 · 17/05/2011 18:09

I've now got 2 pairs of Next linen trousers. They're only suitable for waering with extra long tops as otherwise they show my belly but I was thinking of them more as an investment for the rest of the summer when I'm too fat for all my normal trousers!

Think I'm going to cancel my plans for tomorrow, drop dcs at school and then head off to MAU. Pain is getting worse and beginning to get me down because I know what's coming. Am totally out of outofdate cocodamol and paracetamol is just not hitting the spot. Hopefully I can arrange someone to be on standby to pick ds up if I end up being in for hours and hours.

Anyone heard from Nicola? Last time she was on she was in lots of pain but that was some time ago and I've not seen her about.

Twit · 17/05/2011 18:16

What's that about a heatwave? Hmmmmm?

I was wondering about nicola when I was making tea, I hope she's doing ok.

I bought leggings and long vest tops and a couple of cardis for if it got hot (am vvvvv pale and burn vvvvv easily so have to cover up), but am really pleased I've been able to wear my jeans 'cos I hate the hot weather at the best of times. If it's over 1/2 term I don't mind so much though Wink

buttonmoon78 · 17/05/2011 18:19

Heatwave? Just read that bit back and not sure I like the sound of it!

Said to DH the other day 'who's stupid idea was it to have a summer baby?' Ever the gentleman, he immediately said 'yours'. Humph.

Fab123 · 17/05/2011 18:43

Well, I saw this yesterday (love the charming pic of lobster red Brit girls joyfully flouncing into a very grey sea. Can only be UK.)

Lalalalalalalala

buttonmoon78 · 17/05/2011 21:08

Well, there we are then. May be forced to dig out the paddling pool so I can sit in it like a whale Grin

Actually, tonight's got even worse. Decided on freezer tea so I could stay off my feet... DS had nice chicken dinner, DDs had left over chilli and I decided to have a spag carbonara that I got cheap at Tesco. Of course, doing mine, I forgot to put it on a plate so when I took it out the container was v floppy and sort of flicked up and now I've burned my hand and just beneath my eye with boiling sauce.

I'm so fed up, I'm so clumsy and cumbersome

To make it worse, when I told DH he shouted at me for being silly which I know I deserved although he apologised afterwards.

I know I wanted this baby, and I still do. I just want it to be over. Let this be written in stone:

There. Will. Never. Be. A. Number. Five. Got it?

cara2244 · 17/05/2011 21:19

I saw my friend today who had a baby two weeks ago and there is hope for us all. She had a pretty miserable pregnancy, including being signed off sick from six months with pgp. But she is full of energy, really happy, says she feels loads better than when pregnant. And she looks so skinny already!! In another 14 days, we will all be able to say we are due next month. Eeek. My mantra so far has been, 'I've got ages to go' but at some point soon there won't be ages to go!

confuddledDOTcom · 17/05/2011 22:57

A lot of women find that they're walking around the ward like they've not been able to for a long time before, even some who've been seriously affected by PGP. It can be the miracle cure in a lot of women. For those who it isn't, getting the baby out can still make a big difference and be completely gone within 10 days - although there are some at 6 weeks and (my consultant told me yesterday) 4 months that are getting over it. Those who never recover are rare and TBH I do get better after each pregnancy, just no where near normal. However for the longtermers there's usually an underlying reason.

Back to catch up TV, trying to ignore MN tonight...

inbetweener · 18/05/2011 11:18

Hello everyone,
Gosh we are DEF in the 30 weeks plus stages arent we. I feel massive as well. Although I have to say i feel MUCH better then I did on monday. I think baby must have been in a weird position or something.
button I sympathise I truly do. I have felt so slow and clumsy for about a week now, doing the school run and the commute to work seems to just take ages. I cant wait for ML !! I hoe you get somewhere today with the pain relief, you sound really fed up. Have some unmumsnetty hugs ((()))
confuddled When I had dd2 I could barely walk in the weeks leading up to her birth, I had to wear a hideous support belt and every step was painful. I then delveloped a massive cyst on my lady bits that had to be drain Blush that stopped me from sitting down for ages !! Within 30 mins of her being born i was in the shower singing !! I felt fantastic, a load had literally been lifted and the pain just stopped !!

As for a heatwave !Shock please no !!!!!!!!! I am finding it really difficult to find nice things to wear to work as it is ! I have 3 pairs of black maternity trousers that i am wearing in rotation with assorted boring maternity tops. I must be the most boringly dressed pregnant woman going !!

buttonmoon78 · 18/05/2011 11:48

Things may be looking up... Spoke to a lovely MW at the MAU this morning who said that there was no need to drag myself all the way into hosp. She is going to sort out the cocodamol with my gp. If when I need the dihydrocodeine I may have to go in for it, but it's the cocodamol I really need now. DH is away all the time and I don't like taking the other if he's not in the house.

So, hopefully, fingers x I'll have a prescription sorted this afternoon.

Thanks for being lovely. Sorry to be so whingey at the moment.

inbetweener · 18/05/2011 14:15

button I think we are all entitled to be whingy at the moment. Hoorah to the lovely MW actually listening to you !
I am sat here at work today thinking about how much I DONT want to be here. I have 5 weeks and 2 days to go and it seems sooo long. I just want to stay at home, get the house ready and prepare really. My EDD is the day the girls break up for the 6 weeks holidays so i really hope it doesnt happen then lol.
On another note DH is away for the night tonight so i have the t.v and bed to myself Grin !!
Much as I love him I DO love a night to myself !! I can see the girls being in bed early tonight, followed by a long bath and back to back episodes of one born every minute I have sky plussed accompanied by a large bag of maltesers Grin and a custard tart !!

Fab123 · 18/05/2011 15:06

Ooooh Inbetweener you sure know how to live :) Sounds like something I may have to re-create at some point.

Have written my birth plan. Anyone know how many copies are needed or whether I should give it to my MW at the next appointment in case I go into labour early?

I have a friend who is 40 weeks today and thoroughly fed up. Have seen that if you start pumping breast milk it can bring on labour as it releases oxytocin etc. Have sent her the link and said to check with her MW first, but if I get to that stage i'll be on that badwagon for sure!!!

Want2bSupermum · 18/05/2011 20:53

confuddled Glad to see you are hanging in there.

button Good to hear you are getting your script.

Things here have been ticking along. I felt overwhelmed last weekend so started writing lists. It has made it so much more manageable. We had our 2nd delivery class on Monday night. I had to go into Manhattan to attend a training session. It was raining and I got cold. Half way through class my throat went and by the time we got home an hour later I was suffering from the flu. I just hope I didn't pass it on to anyone else.

My friend is hosting my baby shower this Sunday. I am super excited as I haven't had time to see friends in the past 6 months. Also, as someone who hates shopping, I really hope my friends have bought the important stuff off the registry.

buttonmoon78 · 18/05/2011 21:33

Happy happy!

It's obviously true that drugs degrade over time and become less effective. I've taken one cocodamol and one normal paracetamol and the pain is reduced considerably. Whereas with the out of date stuff it just wasn't helping that much. However, they won't prescribe me more than 60 pills at a go so if I stick with the one at a time rule they'll last a fortnight, but if it gets worse I'll be back in a week. And they won't let me have it on repeat - miserly wotsits!

Still, I'm feeling a lot better than in a long time. Got a nice evening planned - knitting, chocolate and whatever's on telly. Followed by (hopefully) a decent night's sleep.

Hope you feel better soon want2b. I had flu over Christmas and it was pretty rough going. Don't push yourself inot work again too soon - I did and I was knackered!

Anyway, better go, otherwise there'll be no evening left!

Twit · 18/05/2011 22:12

Glad you're all sorted now, but why did it have to get so far? I dunno...
I have seen Nicola about she's still hanging in I guess.
Had a bit of a worrying walk to school this afternoon, I kept getting stertchy pains all down inside IYSWIM? Not contractions or anything like that but I had to stop all the time and I felt like I shouldn't have been there.
Only one week left 'til 1/2 term and then I can rest up a bit (yeah right with 4 kids running around). Hopefully though after 1/2 term I can get away with asking for help with the school run a bit, and hopefully DH will be able to work from home more what with me being 36 weeks plus. I want to do at least one aday 'cos it;s good exercise and I benefit from a bit of walking and it's nice to get out but honestly Thurs and Fri and next week are going to be hard I think.
Next Friday is sports day so god knows how I'll manage that, DD in the morning and DS2 in the afternoon with a family picnic between. I'm really hoping DH will be around and able to go instead help me out.

I had flu with DD, the cough lasted weeks until I gave birth when it magically disappeared. DO take it easy and take any time off you can.

And LOL at you going to Manhattan for child birth classes, how very glam! I hope you have a great Babyshower. I want one

I was determined to stop at 3 LO's. HA.
I. AM. NEVER. HAVING. ANOTHER. ONE. EITHER.

I have started a thread on Weather if anyone wnats to see if it gets any replies if we might be headed for another 1976.

confuddledDOTcom · 18/05/2011 22:22

Glad to hear things getting sorted Button!

fab, like all induction it will only work if your body is ready for it, that's why you can safely nurse through pregnancy.

I've been having tightenings for about 3 hours, been timing since 10pm (3-4 mins) and going to run a bath if still going at 11pm then decide from there what's next.

OP posts:
confuddledDOTcom · 18/05/2011 22:26

Oh and on the subject of heatwaves, that hospital is like a greenhouse (literaly, the wall is mostly window) and my eldest was born in a heatwave, it was a nightmare! There were fights for fans and the rule was if it's not on you don't need it so a MW would take it off you. I on the other hand was suffering pyrexia after the section so they had me uncovered with two fans on and I was begging them to switch it off I was too cold. I had a dressing gown brought in for me and was begging for a hot water bottle!
