buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 08:06

Well that was a tear-fest last night wasn't it?! I cried like it was happening to me.

^^

I slept til 7.15 this morning (ignoring dds who brought me a cup of tea in an attempt to get me out of bed Blush) and now feel ready to face the world again. Felt pretty ropey last night but I know it's just tiredness. I did teeth etc in last OBEM break, I shuffled legged it to bed straight after and don't remember looking at my clock after 10.08. Other than a brief interlude at midnight when ds rolled out of bed I slept like a log. Even baby seems to appreciate it, it's been jigging like riverdance this morning!

Nice day today - usual helping out at school this morning, nipping to collect my new trews then two students, one this afternoon and my star pupil tonight. Then, methinks, another early night!

And, even better, the sun is shining!

buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 08:07

Heck. I've just made myself feel nauseous reading what a good mood I'm in today. Apologies everyone!

Fab123 · 29/03/2011 09:57

Hey Button glad to hear it! I'm also feeling a lot happier today after sleeping from 11:30-9! Considering I didn't actually sleep the night before I must have needed it!

Managed to mow the lawn yesterday and think I might paint the shed today seeing as it is so sunny.

Anyone else getting flabby top arms? I've got a bulge by my armpit that I don't know how to get rid of by summer (must happen or I will have to halve my wardrobe, thus leaving me with perhaps 3 tops Shock). Lynzi I was wondering if you have any tips as you sound far more fit and sporty than me! As long as it doesn't involve running, that is...

Also I thought some of you might be interested in doing the ONS survey on Wellbeing. Sounds a little cheesy but it was nice to think about things I find important and "do my bit" in suggesting things etc. You can do it anon too Wink www.ons.gov.uk/well-being

MissLolita · 29/03/2011 10:17

Fab your ex is being a complete Fucktard (thanks Twit!). Ophelia is a lovely name and is currently one of the few that dh and I can agree upon. Of course she wont drown herself or become a chav! Anyway according to Wikipedia there are lots of other Ophelias - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/References_to_Ophelia - you could always claim you really liked the Adams family (Morticia's sister is called Ophelia) or that you were a huge fan of Toyah Wilcox (had an album and song entitled Ophelia's Shadow) or even better that in an homage to the lovely Brian Cox you named her after Uranus's second innermost moon or and asteroid - all called ophelia! On your ex's justification no names would be in use at all! A pixie is a mythical creature and Maddison is a stadium in New York or a surname (apologies if I've trashed your choice of name!!). Sorry for the rant but this has made me very cross! I am VERY defensive of the name Ophelia! Pregnancy has made me very prone to a good rant and I feel a lot better now....

Lynzi, I'm not very good at being pregnant either - I'm not sure I've stopped doing or eating anything so far (but maybe I lead a boring life?) and I definately still enjoy a glass of red wine! :)

Button, so sorry to hear about work - that is rotten! I confirmed my mat leave start date yesterday - 4th July and I'm taking a week off before as holiday. My boss was a little bit panicky as they've still not found any mat cover but I can't think I am really going to want to go on any longer! My last day will be 24th June which feels ages away :(

I'm with Fab - any arm toning experts out there?!

Fab123 · 29/03/2011 10:33

Thanks Lolita. Fucktard is a name me and his ex came up with and I think it does suit him rather. Don't suspect his mother thought of it while she was carrying him though...

I've also done all the same research into Ophelia. Unfortunately he just sees Hamlet and appears not to have read it too closely himself. He liked Maddison because of some Vampire thing (I know nowt about these books and series at all as I had actually thought they were for teenagers?) but it seems he thinks it's preferable to call your child Maddy or Mad rather than a character in a novel who may possible suffer from depression. It's an odd toss up if you ask me!

I'm hoping painting the shed will help tone the armpits a bit. Also have a blocked pore on one (just noticed :( ) which is quite unsightly. Maybe you can get armpit facials? Ooooh tickley!

Button I may have missed it, but did you actually hand in your notice yesterday?

nicolamumof3 · 29/03/2011 10:51

morning ladies, i slept better last night but feel god damn awful. Head splitting with migraine, just thrown up, white as a sheet and eyes bulging like i've been up all night. Shouldn't be on here really. But need something to keep me awake seeing as ds3 has another 2hrs before nursery.

maddyer · 29/03/2011 13:42

Hello lovely ladies can I please join your thread?? I am due on the 4th july! my third I have two lovely ds 's don't know what this one will be! do lots of you know what your having? and are there more of one particular flavour due in july? Any one local to me at all (cornwall ) or are you mostly City girls?

Eglu · 29/03/2011 13:59

Afternoon all. Glad to hear most people are feeling better. Apart from Nicola, I feel for you.

Maddyer welcome. I am due on the 5th and have two DSes too.

I am happy that DS2 seems to be turning a corner. We haven't had any vomit from him since Sunday morning now, woo hoo! I am not feeling great though. I haven't slept properly since Thursday night and last night I was lying in bed and suddenly had vomit at the back of my throat. Sorry if tmi. It was most bizarre and certainly takes the heartburn to a whole new level.

I'm hoping for a decent night of sleep tonight. I really need it.

maddyer · 29/03/2011 14:15

Eglu thanks for the welcome! Yes I get the whole sick in mouth thing so so gross! I have to have water by the bed theses days and sleep proppedup on extra cusions from the sofa! do you know what you are having this time? have you thought about names yet?

hilltop666 · 29/03/2011 15:06

Hi ladies, been on mn a while but new to this thread, im due 1st July so feel like i dont really belong here but its my first DC so will more than likely go late.

Don't know wat we are having so super excited to c what it will be but just so excited about becoming a mummy can't wait for that part to begin!! We have picked a few girls names but really struggling with boys names.

nicolamumof3 · 29/03/2011 15:28

afternoon, feel slightly better now after a sleep. just drained. Stood in front of the fridge at lunchtime and just balled my eyes out as just felt crap for months now. Just dont' feel like me anymore. I know it sounds ungrateful and i need to give myself a reality check but its hard work atm Sad Im sure i'll feel much better tomorrow.

Welcome Maddyer and Hilltop, have plenty of boys here (3) so am good with names!! We only have one girls name atm as looking for something not too popular.

buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 16:07

Welcome to newbies!

Poor you Nic. I know what you mean though. Cos I wasn't very well during my last pg I feel like I have no 'right' to moan in RL - I get the whole 'well, if it's so bad why are you doing it' thing going on. So the only place I get to whinge is here really Sad

Yes Fab, I did hand my notice in. Boss nearly fell off his chair in shock. I'm amazed he hadn't noticed but he's quite strict Muslim so has probably never looked lower than my chin!

Can't help with the whole arm thing unfortunately. I've got momma arms and have had for years. When I tense them they're quite muscly underthelayerofflab but they never seem to get smaller. I do things with my pilates band when I'm sitting on my gym ball.

MissLolita · 29/03/2011 16:21

Welcome hilltop and maddyer!

Glad you're feeling a bit better Nicola.

I've just purchased a secondhand doppler on ebay so feeling very Grin

MissLolita · 29/03/2011 16:53

Button, sorry, I had a delay before pressing 'post' and missed yours - congratulations! You are a free woman!!!! :)

buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 17:15

On the contrary, I'm very expensive. Just ask DH! Grin

nicolamumof3 · 29/03/2011 20:18

Grin button!

buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 20:24

I have my eyes glued to the screen - am bidding on a loola which is finishing in 27 mins and 5 4 3 2...

Currently high bidder but that can all change...

buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 20:46

Oo. The suspense..!

buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 20:51
Grin
nicolamumof3 · 29/03/2011 21:01

did you get it?? How much?

Fab123 · 29/03/2011 21:02

Congratulations Button - just in time for the summer too :) I am intrigued by the things you do on your ball...que? [shocked]

Nicola what kind of names do you like? I had a whole list as I knew I was having a girl pretty early on - Harriet, Elliot, Georgina, Nathalie, Naomi and Otillie were on there. Granted it was easier when I wasn't with the OH Wink. Hope you feel a little less drained soon.

Painted my shed today and then felt very pleased with myself when I beat my friend at Scrabble (he's trained as a lawyer) even with baby brain!

Just watched Russell Howard's Good News and strongly recommend it to anyone feeling a little blue (it's on iPlayer) as it had me laughing out loud Grin.

Pesha · 29/03/2011 21:04

Button - are you anywhere near Somerset? My friend is thinking of selling one of her Loolas!

Nicola - I sympathise, I have been feeling completely shit the past few days. Having lots of braxton hicks which make me breathless and hurt. Being quite breathless generally actually and very tired and nauseous/sick just when I thought it might finally be fading Sad

Button - congrats on leaving your job!!

Maddyer - Hello! I am Somerset so not very near you but not big city either! I have a girl and 2 boys and am expecting another boy. We are stuck with names though.

I suggested Freddie to dp a while ago which he said he liked but didn't say much more. I asked him again recently
DP: I'm not sure it would work with someone in their 30s or 40s.
Me: well he could be Fred or Fredrick or use his middle name if he really didn't like it but I think Freddie would still be ok, what about Freddie Flintoff?!
DP: thats not his real name though
Me: No but thats still what he gets called
DP: Yeah but hes only 29
Me: Oh I SEE, well that makes all the difference then, obviously when he turns 30 we will all immediately drop the Freddie and start calling him Andrew Hmm

I suspect dp has been influenced by his mother. He is quite easily influenced but he keeps forgetting that that is my role now, not hers!! Wink I'm still not sure about Freddie either, we have a few other names in mind too, but I want his opinion on them, not hers! We need a name before hes born though as our holiday to France is booked for 20th August, baby is due 30th June so we need to register the birth and send off for a passport asap once hes born! Unlike ds2 who was Squish Delish for 2 weeks before we could actually agree on a name and by then I was really warming to Squish!! Grin

Hello to Hilltop Smile At least 1st of July is in July, I am due 30th June and I'm still here!! Date was changed at 12 week scan but I'm fairly sure I'll be late (that'll jinx it!!) so stuck to this thread.

Eglu - glad ds2 is feeling better Smile

Have forgotten everything else except that Twit - I am 27 weeks on Thursday and due before you so I suspect you are now 26 weeks not 27! Or thats what FB tells me anyway! Sorry!!

Took ds2 to dr yesterday and he has an inhaler with the little mask thingumy to try and see if it helps. I have tried to make it appealing to him by calling it a space mask and buying him a special bag to carry it around in so he (hopefully) doesn't totally freak when he's struggling to breathe and I come and stick it in his face. Unfortunately I think I made it too appealing and he didn't want to leave it in the kitchen at playschool but wanted to take it out and show it to all his friends and play with it!

buttonmoon78 · 29/03/2011 21:10

You're sounding chirpier tonight Fab. Re the ball... it's a lime green Davina one I got from Argos and it came with one of those elastic bands for resistance work. So you can sit on the ball and use it to work your triceps by holding it with your foot or use it behind your back for your triceps etc.

Mind you, having re-read what I wrote, it sounds well dodgy! Doing things on my gym ball! Chance'd be a fine thing!

Nicola Could you not tell from my broad grin?! £41. I'm well impressed. It's a Bebe Confort so not the newest model but it's the one with the basket on top of the x bars so one of the last BC ones before Maxi Cosi came along.

Advice please... I've already got a BC Creatis from ds in red but you may remember DH's objection to red this time. I've been looking at black ones on ebay (to swap the covers with my perfect condition plastic bit) but they are v few and far between. My dull brain has only just realised that you can (with adaptors) use the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix on the Loola frame. Sooo what do you think of the Cabriofix, anyone who's got one and used it before? My sis and DH's sis both have one so there's a strong chance I'd be able to use one of those.

nicolamumof3 · 29/03/2011 21:11

oh pesha hope your ds better soon.

I love freddie for a boy, my dh comes out with funny reasons for vetoing names as well!!

Fab, the only name we can both agree on is Emilia. But now im not sure if its 'special' enough does that sound bad? just our last baby i don't know. Dh likes florence i've gone off it though.

Our boys are Thomas, Tate and Luka...

nicolamumof3 · 29/03/2011 21:13

button i took delivery of a lovely pink cabrio fix last week, was very odd having a pink carseat sat on my bed! But i do love the cabrio lovely seat. Can you get a carrycot...windoo isn't it for loola?
