I've started looking at mat clothes too as I have been quite bloated. At the mo my trousers are just sitting higher than normal. I saw some good work trousers in Dorothy Perkins that I thing I'll buy when i'm bigger. It took til about four months last time before I was in mat clothes - I don't think that is going to happen this time!

I've had quite a bit of nausea in the mornings - I'm 8 + 2 today - and have found a banana whilst still in bed has helped to settle my stomach so far. Good night ladies

Jojoba1986 · 25/02/2011 23:27

kateepie2 I'm glad it's not just me, I'd only recently gone up a bra size before getting PG & so have only just bought new bras but I just measured myself & I've gone from being a 32C to a 34D already & I'll only be 7 weeks on Sunday! Couldn't believe it! I was expecting some amount of swelling early on but given that I was only just fitting into my 32C bras I thought they'd last longer than this!! Oh well, got Mothercare on my list of shopping destinations tomorrow! Hopefully getting better fitting bras will help with the soreness!! :)

tummytickler · 26/02/2011 09:38

Morning all! I am experiencing much the same as you! I am 5+3 (God its going so slowly!), boobs are big and achy and I have gone into my old mat bras which have seen better days, but I do not want to buy any new ones yet.
I am also into looser stuff. My old jeans are ok, but I am quite self concious about my belly so wearing mat tops!
I have been doing the 30 Day Shred DVD, and it was going really well, stomach getting flatish - but it has definately popped out. Not a real bump, but my body remembers what to do when pg I think, and has just let the muscles go! I cant even pull my tummy in to where it was 2 weeks ago!
Still no ms yet, so wonder if i am having a boy as was awfully sick by now with the girls. We have already picked a boys name, so that would be handy!

tummytickler · 26/02/2011 09:40

Oh - I have been looking at prams too - I really want a Stokke Explory but they are so expensive, and we are quite skint this year (need new car and various other expenses).
Dh will laugh in my face when he finds out, but might try to find one on ebay!
Anybody else thought about prams yet?
I never did tell him how much my old Phil and Teds cost!

MrsP81 · 26/02/2011 10:14

Hello ladies, can I join in please? Smile

I got my BFP nearly 2 weeks ago now. I'm a charter and my temperature took a massive nosedive on AF due day so I though it was all over. She didn't arrive though and temp shot back up the next day and the following day, so did a test and got an immediate BFP. Done a couple more since then for reassurance purposes but I've run out now so I guess I'll leave it at that

This is our 9th month of trying and I had an early MC last August. I feel different this time, I was excited straight away but last time my first thought was I mustn't get excited yet. Don't know if that means anything but fingers crossed!

Oh, due date of 25/10/11.

Looking forward to sharing the journey with you all!

mumtobee · 26/02/2011 10:20

Hello MrsP - Welcome to the bus and congratulations!

TummyTickler - you're 5 days behind me but I'm thinking the same as you that it may be a boy this time as was so much more sick last time with my girl, or maybe I'm just more used to being exhausted!! Anyway - am definitely feeling nauseous today and very tired in a sick way, I had an incredibly busy day yesterday so think I may have overdone things and it's my body's way of saying slow down - hope so!

LittlePebble · 26/02/2011 11:00

Morning all - nausea is much worse again today - didn't sleep much last night a DP is away and I spent all night worrying something would happen (hormones!).

Does everyone else find MS worse when tired?

monkeybubbles · 26/02/2011 11:04

LittlePebble i definitely think MS is much worse when tired, i've started to refer to mine as 'evening sickness' as i'm so exhausted after work that it's at it's worst at night

also struggling to sleep and waking up uncomfortable so thinking about getting one of those big pillows. they do seem quite expensive though, anyone who's already had babies have any recommendations?

BabCNesbitt · 26/02/2011 11:24

Morning, chaps!

Still symptomless here apart from having fits of rage and tears that are making my PMT-ridden self seem like St Francis of fucking Assisi. Not helped by trying to work out the insurance stuff for a NY home birth (DH is moving back to the US in July Sad ). Considering just staying on here until the birth, but I hate the idea of going through the last few months without him. :(

(Apologies for the self-pity Blush)

LittlePebble · 26/02/2011 11:51

monkeybubbles - not sure about the pillows I've been looking at them too - I know lots of people who have had them while pregnant and found them useful. they have some of the V shaped ones on amazon for £15 if that's any help?

BabCNesbitt oh poor you - is this your first pregnancy?

tummytickler · 26/02/2011 12:38

bab - I know that rage well Sad It is so hard to keep a lid on it - I flip at the smallest thing, half term has been a bit boring for my poor dc! Do you have family here who could help you with the last few months of pregnancy if you decide to stay?
Hopefully by the next school holiday i will feel better and the crossness will lift! Mostly I send them upstairs to play Blush , instead of playing games and going out.

BabCNesbitt · 26/02/2011 13:10

LittlePebble - yep, first time round :) You too, right?

tummytickler - my brother lives here, and lots of friends, so I wouldn't feel too isolated (in fact, probably less so than moving to NYC halfway through!) Just feel sad at the idea of DH missing out on so much of it.

bilblio · 26/02/2011 15:12

Afternoon people.
Just thought I'd pop in before getting tidied and having a nap. I saw the GP yesterday and apparently I'm due on the 24th not 21st. (I think I put the wrong date into the MN calculator). Booked in to see the midwife in about a week and a half and I think it's the same one I had last time.... although she was off sick for most of it... so it may be the midwife who replaced her. Either way it's someone familiar.

Had some spotting yesterday. Only a little and nothing since. I had quite a bit of spotting last time so I'm not too concerned I just took advantage yesterday of being able to lie down. I'm still holding my breath every time I go to the loo though, just in case.

We went out last night for a meal and I was up very last as friends stayed over. They've all gone now. DH and DD are at MIL's for the night so I'm home alone and plan to make the most of being able to relax.

I've been out this afternoon and bought a couple of tunics to wear with leggings because jeans are just too uncomfortable now. I usually wear skirts to one of my jobs so I'll be okay for a while there. But I wear jeans to the other job so I'll have to switch to leggings.

Tomorrow I've got a 12.5 hour shift and I'm dreading it. It's the first long shoft I've had to do since I found out last week. I've been so tired I don't know how I'll cope. Hopefully I be on with someone who will mollycoddle me and I'll be okay. :)

Bouncyminky · 26/02/2011 17:03

There are a couple of threads in 'pregnancy' on pillows - one I started. The most popular seems to be the long ones and most say it really helped them sleep. I may look on eBay etc to try and get a good price.

EdwardorEricCantdecide · 26/02/2011 17:46

how are we all today?
any1 had any cravings yet?

i've had uncontrollable craving for salt been adding salt to all my meanls (normally don't like it) and having ready salted crisps and pouring extra salt on Blush

Crawling · 26/02/2011 19:20

I know what pram I will need, I need a britax duel which is expensive but we need a double and it is lighter than P&T but the same sore and baby can sit in either seat, and the main seat is rear or forward facing. I dont have a car and walk a hour round trip each way to school everyday, and it is mostly up hill Sad so will need a good pram.

tummytickler · 26/02/2011 20:06

Crawling we walk miles each day as well - lovely when the weather is nice and there is nothing in particular to do, but a nightmare if you are in a rush!

Edwardo - blimey - extra salt on ready salted crisps! I remember liking McDonalds fries in my last pg because of the salt - mmmmm! I cannot stop eating meat - another reason i think it is a boy!

elgoldenflower · 26/02/2011 21:04

I craved garlic bread in first couple of weeks before I knew I was pg.

Recently I want to eat crab and lobster!!!!

As I'm not too sure they're completely safe unless piping hot I'm making do with any kind of fish, just bought some mackerel and sardines but I could murder some fresh crab mmmmmmmm!!!!

Bluetinkerbell · 26/02/2011 21:58

I am craving bacon and ham... and I am a vegetarian ;)
haven't eaten it though... I just loooove the smell ;)
eating lots of Pringles, mini poppadums...

Crawling · 26/02/2011 22:31

Tummytickler it is nice in good weather, not good if you are ill or it is bad weather, but it helps lose the pg weight Grin.

I have been craving cheese which has bought about its own problem.

Penelope1980 · 26/02/2011 22:37

Hello all! Hope all is well. I have been told that my boobs are getting massive, am v self concious as was already a D cup to start with Blush

I was reading about the preg pillows above, how are they supposed to help sleep? Anything that will help is much appreciated!

BabCNesbitt · 26/02/2011 23:09

Crawling, what's the cheese problem? Nightmares? Confused

Just got back from seeing The King's Speech (Colin Firth for the Oscar, of course) and there were letters waiting from King's giving me dates for my booking appointment and scan - suddenly it all seems real!

Crawling · 27/02/2011 09:58

Constipation is a problem that I am having with cheese Grin

elgoldenflower · 27/02/2011 09:58

Penelope There are some great threads on MN about maternity pillows, have a quick search.

I've just ordered a Theraline pillow
because my achy hips require a pillow between my knees to sleep confortably and my sore boobs and bloated tummy are making it difficult, I find side sleeping quite uncomfy. When my boobs ached in puberty I slept leaning them on a squidgy cushion which really helped so...

The theory with the long pillows is you put it between your knees and wrap yourself around it so it gives everything support as you sleep on your side. Particularly useful in 3rd Trimester when side sleeping is best for mum and baby and to help support growing bump.

I hope that's useful, will let you know how I get on, hoping it will reduce how many times I wake up (up to 6 or 7 times each night at moment - good practice for baby though).

dribbleface · 27/02/2011 10:59

Hi all.

Have picked up a stomach bug and feel miserable. Had diarrhoea since fri. Had a terrible bug when pregnant with DS at 6 weeks so not worrying too much about it affecting little one but still can't help stressing a bit.

Have masses of course work to do, supposed to be big weekend catch up Hmm, had a bit of a melt down this morning, DH just doesn't get it....why you crying for? I wish he could just get it!

Og to do more course work, working from my bed, munching dry crackers, what a wondeful life i lead! Feel sorry for DS though, not been a very good mummy this week Sad
