Hi all,
I am 5+4 today! Its going so slow!
I have lower back ache nearly all the time now, boobs are getting huge and still really sore! I have also started with some ms, well I say ms but actually it is more like a mild nausea when i go to bed at night which makes it very difficult to go to sleep but am fine during the day so cant complain really. Smile
My baby brain is really bad though and as we havnt told anyone except for mine and DHs mums I have no excuse to explain! Blush
Also I am glad to see I am not the only one with a niticable bloat bump,I look about 4 months pg compared to when i was pg with DS, I feel so embarrassed as everyone is probably thinking Im just getting really fat! Sad

Bluetinkerbell · 27/02/2011 13:54

hi everyone,

I'm looking for some nice ideas to tell my parents next weekend over Skype, they live abroad and I would like my DD to tell them... I'll be 8+2 then...
the PIL will come over next weekend and we'll tell them as well...

I was looking online at these 'I'm going to be a big sister' t-shirt, but they're so expensive for what they are... would be £13 with P&P included...
are there shops that sell them cheaper?

Liabella · 27/02/2011 14:58

Bluetinkerbell Could your DD draw or write (or you add the writing) a sign and hold it up Skype? Or make a badge saying "I'm going to be a big sister" for her to wear.

We had a lovely weekend away but now I am sooooooo tired - I have barely moved from the sofa today!

Worried that I seem to have put on 4 pounds in the last few days - I guess it's from eating out while we were away, but I've got to keep my weight in check as I've got to squeeze into a wedding dress in 7 weeks so it'll be salads and lean protein for me from now until the wedding day.

Bluetinkerbell · 27/02/2011 17:03

Thanks Liabella sounds like a lovely idea...

I've had to deal with sick DD today... vomiting and diarrhoea... hope I don't catch the bug...

feel for you dribbleface hope you feel better soon!

Purpletoes · 27/02/2011 18:59

hi all
Can I join in?
Got my BFP last weekend still reeling in shock but happy.

DP is still in shock and gradually getting used to idea.
I have the usual symptoms of very sore breasts and tired allthe time. Looking forward to sharing journey with everyone especiallly this early on.

EDD 26th Oct 1st pregnancy.

Bluetinkerbell · 27/02/2011 19:12

Congrats Purpletoes

elgoldenflower · 27/02/2011 19:13

Welcome purpletoes as you might have noticed this is a big bus but all the better to have lots of different experiences and opinions on it. I've found it really helpful.

We are both expecting #1 on 26/10/11! I found out about 10 days ago and am still reeling from what a huge thing this is (even though it was planned) but happy overall (in between hormonal mood swings Confused )

Purpletoes · 27/02/2011 19:36

thanks everyone.

Mine was kinda planned but didn't think it would happen so soon hence DP's state of shock lasting longer than mine although it does mean he is making dinner tonight! yeah.

I have been working everyday since I found out so am now looking forward to an 8 day break and rest.

moonstorm · 27/02/2011 20:02

This thread's so exciting! I was on the October 2010 thread, just cuddling up to my 4.5 month old Smile

Hope you all have lovely pregnancies. Good luck x

Tamashii · 27/02/2011 20:05

Bluetinkerbell Awww - that is such a lovely idea for your DD to do on Skype. Sorry I have no suggestions - no imagination here any more! Hope you get some good ideas tho :) You could always get the £13 T Shirt, leave the tags on it, let her wear it for the Skype session then take it off n send it back!!! Blush is that too cheeky???

I have been SOOOOOO ill this weekend. PIL were over and DH said they asked him if I was PG when I went to put DS to bed!!!! They said I look awful. He told them I had a hangover!!!!!!! I was a complete zombie though and the whole night was a struggle for me. I had been sick all day and had to make a big meal for us all for dinner then attempted to eat it so I didn't give the game away. I bet they will be like "WE KNEW IT!!!" when we tell them the truth.

Is anyone else completely off all food? The only thing I am craving is crumpets and butter and I have only managed to have 1 from Greggs this week!!! None of the supermarkets had crumpets - only pancakes sigh! I am also craving Red Bull which is a complete no no but DH has a few bottles of the cheap one in the fridge and even the smell of it is making me want to down a whole bottle. It's out of control!

Tamashii · 27/02/2011 20:09

Oh.... Also meant to add I have my booking appt date now and the letter says "booking appt/scan on 17 March" so I am wondering if this is a typo since the maternity centre usually has the ultrasounds done soley on a day the midwives are out. I will have to get on the phone to double check tomorro so I don't needlessly ask DH to take a day off as his job means he can only really come to the ultrasound scan.

Has anyone else had booking in AND Ultrasound on the same day (too lazy to look back through all the previous posts)??? I am concerned about having to drink litres of water then sit through the booking appt, needing to pee and then being told off by the sonographer if I need to pee before the scan!!! [rolleyes]

Bluetinkerbell · 27/02/2011 20:27

I might print of a picture of a pregnant woman for my daughter to colour in and write that she will be a big sister...

they'll be sooo pleased, as my mum has been asking for like the past 1.5 years when #2 would come along...

DD almost gave away our secret today as she said quite loudly Mummy has a baby in her belly... luckily she said it in my mother tongue and I think hope that the people she said it to, didn't understand properly...
she's only 2 and 4 months so she doesn't really get the concept of it being a secret yet...
I told her to only talk about it to Mummy and Daddy...

she loves looking at the pics on my smartphone pregnancy app... I love it that she's being so involved already ;)

Penelope1980 · 28/02/2011 05:30

elgoldenflower thanks for that re the pillows, I'll look it up.

Also I was told today you can't eat icecream while pregnant but am not sure why - anyone else heard that? Any of you getting as sick as I am of not knowing what info to trust?

Bluetinkerbell · 28/02/2011 07:39

Penelope some icecream is made with raw eggs... so best to check beforehand...

apples82 · 28/02/2011 08:39

Urgh, i'm 7 wks today and feel ROUGH!

I still haven't seen my MW yet, will she ever ring?

All I want is to see her and get my date for scan.

Please ring this week!!!

mumtobee · 28/02/2011 09:03

Penelope - The soft ice cream from ice cream vans could have listeria, so best to avoid it - so tempting in the Summer though...

Crawling · 28/02/2011 09:34

This is a full bus the September bus are only half way through thier first thread Shock this must be a lucky month Grin. I am getting excited now I have been trying to hold back in case I misscarry but I cant help it any more now, I am going to keep My children wont have months of waiting.

sunface · 28/02/2011 09:49

Hi all! and congrats to the new ladies who have come aboard! Just wondering if anyone can help. I live in Scotland and have my date in to see the midwife for the 23rd March. It said appointment could last 2hrs, but there is no mention of a scan anywhere? I'd be around 13weeks at that point and assumed it would incorporate a scan too, given it's 2 hrs long?!

crawling i'm the same, i feel i'm getting bigger by the day (blaming the fact this would be my 3rd too) and finding the not drinking thing a bit of a problem when we're with friends etc. Just dying to tell people, but at the same time still worreid about possible MC too......

elgoldenflower · 28/02/2011 10:11

Urghh, MS seems to be lurking a lot of the time now, not severe just nausea that's ruining my appetite.

Noticed I've lost weight on my waist (sides) but have huge boobs and pot belly from bloating. All so strange. Usually I work through illness but with this I just want to stay home and veg out.

Sorry for whinge I know my MS is relatively mild Blush

Bluetinkerbell · 28/02/2011 10:45

Apples my midwife is on annual leave this week, so she will only ring me next week to make an appointment... it seems so long away still... specially because it is all new to me. second baby but gave birth to DD in Belgium...

feel a bit strange as well... DD is ill. sickness bug... dunno whether I feel nausea because of MS or because I caught her bug... hope not...

apples82 · 28/02/2011 10:48

Bluetinkerbell I hope you and DD feel better soon.

That was the same for my MW, I registered in the first wk of a two wk hols for her, she only got back to work last Wed, but i'm 7 wks today and dying for any form of news or appointments?!

Bumpsadaisie · 28/02/2011 11:35

Hope everyone is doing OK.

Took day off today as really feeling c**p with flu/cold bug on top of the general pregnancy yukness. DH is at home looking after DD and has been very sweet and looking after me. I feel sorry for him. DD is ill too with this bug and is miserable and being challenging. Bless him he has still cleaned the cooker and gone off with her to do the shopping.

Sometimes I think of the 8 months to go, what a journey there is ahead and I feel very overwhelmed and a bit tearful - anyone else the same? I just imagine being the size of a house and going to the delivery unit and it seems a very long way off. Must try and just focus on the here and now, or at least just the next few weeks. As DH says, once we are into April, things will be looking up, hopefully.

DH also reminded me that (1) if that Clearblue had been a "not pregnant" how devastated I would be and (2) if I didn't have any symptoms at all, how stressed I would be! He is right of course.

Im also finding Im not really associating it with an actual baby - I just feel ill! Perhaps I should start thinking about my little girl/boy.

Well, courage and onwards and upwards everyone! This bit won't last forever.

Crawling · 28/02/2011 11:54

Ah Bumpsadaisy it gets better once you have your first scan and baby start kicking it feels like things are happening Smile

Bumpsadaisie · 28/02/2011 12:25

Cheers Crawling - I know you are right!

Just been looking back at photos of DDs birth to remind me what its all in aid of!

AliTheMinx · 28/02/2011 12:36

Hello everyone! Sorry to hear so many of you feel ill. sends hugs and hope you feel better soon I also feel a bit sniffly today.

I went to the GP today to announce my pregnancy. It was a bit bittersweet after my 2 miscarriages last year, but she was lovely and threw her arms around me and actually had a little tear in her eye for me. She said the key is to be positive, and rest, rest, rest, so I have cleared my diary for the next 6 weeks to give my baby the best possible chance of survival. She said this has been proven to help with people who have miscarried before, so I am literally going to be working by day, and resting in the evenings and at weekends. But if things work out, it will be so worth it.

I am only 6+1 today, so a loooong way to go. Am having scan on Thursday.

I called the midwife team at the hospital to make my booking appointment and was told I can only book in when I am 7 weeks, and the appointment will be at 8-10 weeks, so have to call back next week. My DH is going to come with me this time. I am needlephobic and had a really rough time last time - hyperventilating and passing out! Not good.

have just discovered new "Cheeky Chutney" Snack A Jacks and they are LUSH! xxxxxxxxxxx
