Anyone else suffering from headaches?? I am lucky to have not experienced almost any morning sickness but my head is going to explode!!!!

I've had a headache on and off all week! Am not kidding :( Blocked sinuses are not helping and I think that might be the cause......The pain got worse last night, I came home from work at 6:00pm had a nap until 9:00pm (!!) then woke up and went back to sleep around midnight and really the pain was there all night, woke up today feeling awful and just couldn't face going to work :(

I think I would prefer MS :(

drivencrazy · 14/04/2011 10:01

Knitter i am so sorry. Take care of yourself.

Lovemybaby contact your gp explain the situation to them they should send you for a immmunity test. If youve had chicken pox as a child you should be immune but best to check if unsure. I had it done at about 7 weeks as my son had chicken pox and i have never had them. Thankfully i do have immunity to them somehow. The extra blood test was worth the peace of mind.

I'm still waiting for my scan its not until wednesday and i will be 13 weeks 6 days.
I keep randomly getting nausea. Beesok i get headaches like that too. Really wasnt impressed last night had sickness heartburn, headache and was really tired all at the same time. Told DP its all his fault lol

BB3 · 14/04/2011 10:03

Good morning all, how is everyone.

Urgh I am very envious of all those who's symptoms are dying down. I am feeling awful.

I am also envious of first scans as my next one is not until 24 May! Am so tempted to have a sneaky private one before then!

BB3 · 14/04/2011 10:07

Beesok, snap but mine come with nose bleeds and sickness! it's strange how much a baby effects your entire body isn't it!

chocolatehobnobs · 14/04/2011 10:35

Knitter, just spotted your post. I'm so sorry to hear the devastating news. Support your very difficult decision. Much love for the future

Beesok · 14/04/2011 10:35

drivencrazy and BB3 sorry you have the "lovely" headache experience too but I am glad am not alone - was beginning to think that maybe it's a sign that something is wrong .......

Decided to make the most of it today and am going maternity shopping - need some bras and maybe a few dresses :) no evident bump yet but it's best to be prepared no? :)))))

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 14/04/2011 12:32

BEESOK

new look is fab for floaty tops/dresses don't need maternity as a lot are a line from shoulders or empire line with loads of fabric, H&M is also fab, i never shopped in these shops before, just discovered them yestersday and love them Grin

BabCNesbitt · 14/04/2011 12:44

Beesok, also getting random sinus-type headaches here (as someone who only ever had headaches on a hangover before). The slightest thing can trigger them - colleagues' perfumes are a particular nuisance.

SconesForTea · 14/04/2011 12:55

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind if I hop on the bus. I had my dating scan today and am 12+5. All looked ok although don't get the results of the combined test for another three weeks. I've also got a DD who's 14m.

I've been the most annoyingly neurotic pregnant woman ever, absolutely convinced that there would be nothing there at the scan because I haven't felt pregnant for the last few weeks. I have a unsightly charming pot belly which I was convinced was all biscuits (to be fair it is mainly biscuits considering size of baby Blush) and have suddenly started gaining weight at speed. (Biscuits again.)

Now I feel I can relax and enjoy what is hopefully my last pregnancy Smile

rebelwithoutababy · 14/04/2011 13:19

Hi sconesfortea (great name). Welcome to our neurotic pregnancy community! I thought my bump was all cheesy paninis until my scan, which revealed that at least a couple of grams of it was a baby!!
Is anyone else still cripplingly tired? I can't work out if I'm still jetlagged from flight back from NYC on Tuesday (and night without sleep on plane thanks to restless legs...) or just pg-tired??
xxx

bilblio · 14/04/2011 13:37

Knitter So sorry to hear about the difficult decision you've had to make.

rebel yes, to the tiredness. I keep finding myself just staring into the distance I'm so tired. My routine most nights has been, get home at 5, have tea, asleep on the sofa by 5:30, with DD playing around me, giving me teddies etc. DH gets DD bathed and ready for bed then wakes me to say night night to her. Then I'm back in bed a few hours later.
I keep waiting for the energy surge that we're meant to have.

We've having a load of work done in our kitchen next week so DD is staying at my Mum's all week safely out of the way.
I'd like to say it'll be nice to come home and sleep without feeling guilty, but I'll probably be cleaning up after workmen instead.

PenguinArmy · 14/04/2011 15:52

I can't work out if tiredness is pg related or due to the fact that DD has been waking at least every 2 hours. We had every 1 hour from 2:30. However the tiredness is not like it as in my last pg (although I am in bed between 8-9 most nights). I miss all the good telly

That was exactly how far along I was on my dating scan.

cupofteaplease · 14/04/2011 16:51

I am unbearably tired! Had a 2.5 hour sleep this afternoon! I have no energy for anything, thank goodness I have another week of holiday from work. Oh, and add to that the fact that I was sick in the loo at soft play earlier today. I could hear the people outside mumbling as I retched away with dd2 asking, 'Why are you being so sick?' really loudly Blush

Beesok · 14/04/2011 17:03

well my headache was cured by a little shopping trip Blush - I checked out all the high street stores and bought a few things at H&M and Zara + some maternity bras :)

I don't really need much maternity clothing (was shopping around quite comfortably in my normal jeans which were bought at a time when I actually lost a bit of weight!) so focused on styles which can accommodate a bloated belly and maybe grow a bit over next few months - not necessarily maternity :)

CheshireDing · 14/04/2011 17:19

Hi Sconesfortea

This is my first baby and I am VERY neurotic, although last week some ladies on here did help my get a grip a bit by telling me that they too had the stitch-like cramps and that they still went cycling etc (I was worrying about weight lifting and cycling at the gym).

I got no sympathy from DH either when I was sick for the first time (3 times!) on Saturday and then burst all the blood vessels either side of my face. All he said was that all the hormones were a good thing and that I was being daft if I thought the baby might drop out if I sneezed lots in one go!

To all those slightly behind, I feel this is possibly a little bit of hope - I am nearly at the end of week 14 and actually thought the other day "I actually feel nearly normal again", then I went to the cycle and had loads of energy. I was very pleased. Still feel sick though.

Too people have told me this week though that I am starting to show and there is a tum, which I am gutted about because at the moment I just look like a cake eater, sniff :(

PenguinArmy · 14/04/2011 17:32

You know I think I'm more neurotic this time around

Chesire You were being a bit daft (little but) if you thought that however you should have got sympathy. Here have some from me

Scones How is the BF going?

Bumpsadaisie · 14/04/2011 19:04

Hi everyone

Glad to hear that those who have had recent scans have had good news.

Well, I'm 13+2 and still feeling quite rough - sickness bit better but goodness so tired and definitely not "normal".

Anyone a few weeks ahead care to cheer me up by saying they felt much better from 14/15 weeks?!! Grin

Also has anyone else's bump seemed to have started growing just under your boobs as opposed to further down? Mine now goes out quite prominently from my bra line and everyone can tell I am pregnant! I did get a spare tyre further down earlier on from all the over eating/poor eating, but this popping out under the ribcage is a new one!

It makes me feel much more pregnant than I am and my brain is convinced I'm carrying a third trimester baby! I keep putting hands on bump and expecting to feel a baby!

chocolatehobnobs · 15/04/2011 07:54

Scan today! Drink lots of water everyone the headaches are partly due to dehydration as our blood volume is increasing as we go into 2nd trimester. (I've been reading up) :-)

SconesForTea · 15/04/2011 09:38

Good luck with your scan chocolate

I'm knackered, but like PA I think I can blame my wakeful toddler at least partly.

Also have a bump sprouting from my bustline. This didn't happen until about 20 weeks last time. I feel slightly freakish.

Cheshire DH needs to learn that his only job really for the next 6 months is to provide sympathy/tea/cake as required!

PA I'm still feeding DD morning and night. Most of the time she settles down and I can hear her swallowing, after a while, so there is still something there. It's the times when she gets so frustrated at the slow let-down, and just wriggles off screaming in frustration, that I wonder if it would be best to wean (not that I have any idea how you wean Confused). I read the tandem feeding book but most of the case studies in it seemed to be older toddlers who could speak. How can I tell DD that mummy's milk is going? I just don't know.

How is yours going?

Looking forward to the 'bloom'. I think this happened about 14 weeks last time. A week and counting then.

Penelope1980 · 15/04/2011 09:50

KnitterNotTwitter that must have been a hard decision, I hope that all goes well in the future.

haven't been on here in a while as been on holiday, but it's good catching up on everything! I am doing well although have hip pain am concerned is siatica, I hope not, but as my sister had it am very aware of it!

Fleecy · 15/04/2011 13:22

knitter what a very difficult time for you and an awful decision to have to make. I'm so sorry Sad

PenguinArmy · 15/04/2011 14:57

scones I don't know if you remember that time when I really struggled with DD 'fussy' (such a understated word) feeding. That was related to slow let down, which I still have. She has got used to it overtime, so now accepts she may need to wait 5 mins before the food comes. Hopefully yours will either pick up once 20 weeks hit or she gets used to it as well.

I have a 3 day weekend :)

BabCNesbitt · 15/04/2011 20:32

chocolatehobnobs, how did your scan go? Had mine this morning - all OK, it seems! But I thought I'd feel more for the wee yin (apart from relief), having seen it, but at the moment I just feel a bit weird. There's something 5cm long doing synchronised swimming in my guts! WTF?! Hmm

chocolatehobnobs · 16/04/2011 09:01

Hi BabC glad your scan went well. Mine was lovely finally feels real and I feel so happy- this babe flipped over on tum and was pedalling away like on a bike v funny as DH is a cyclist! Weird to see something so small yet perfectly formed. Love to all xxl

monkeybubbles · 16/04/2011 11:30
