Thank goodness I'm not the only second timer worrying more this time. I still have a bit of brown blood most days.

Bluetinkerbell · 02/04/2011 22:15

penguin we're in the same boat!
I'm wondering whether my MW will change from MW-led care to something else with the bleeding I have had now?
bleeding seemed to have gotten less, just a tiny bit of light red now.
wish it was Monday tomorrow, so I could have the scan, hopefully the Mother's day celebrations will make the day go quick tomorrow.

lovemylittlebean · 03/04/2011 16:27

Happy Mothers' Day everyone! Today I got a card from Bean!

Hope you're managing to rest lots today tinkerbell!

dannid · 03/04/2011 19:33

Sorry all this is gonna be a bit of a moan! Am feeling so fed up at the moment, I am feeling constantly nauseous and it's really starting to get me down. It doesnt let up and i feel sick 24/7...I can't do anything and am starting to feel like I'm being a really rubbish mum to ds1 (who i never had any ms with at all). DH's patience is wearing thin with me too, he has been great over the last couple of weeks but can tell that he is getting utterly fed up with me, and we ended up having a massive row today! To be honest I'm even getting fed up of my moaning!! I am thinking of going to the doctors tomorrow to see if they can prescribe anything but am not sure if they will as I am not actually being sick! :(

dannid · 03/04/2011 19:36

To top it all off ds1 is now having a massive tantrum cause he wanted mummy to bath him not daddy! I really am struggling to cope with it all and feel massively guilty for DH.

BB2 · 03/04/2011 19:48

Dannid, go to the doctors, I got the anti sickness tablets and the best thing they did for me was take away the nausea. Still was regularly sick a few times a day but the constant nausea that was making me impossible to live with, and impossible for me to move was much, much better!

Mpops and Bluetink, good luck tomorrow and please rest up!

Had DS's 2nd birthday party today (his birthday is tomorrow) and I am shattered. Must be bed time... Wink

Bluetinkerbell · 03/04/2011 20:03

thanks all! spent most of the day on the sofa, DH took care of everything else, cooked us a nice roast, put DD to bed, cleaned up kitchen, so happy to have him.
He also phoned work to say I'm staying at home tomorrow as I need to rest.
Even with the resting I still had some bleeding.
So first thing tomorrow is phoning MW then off to hospital.

dannid · 03/04/2011 20:10

That is really good to know BB2, I didn't think they would give me anything unless I was being sick and getting dehydrated...but useful to know that they did sort out the nausea for u! Will def make an appointment tomorrow. Don't suppose u know the name of the drugs u were prescribed?!? I feel so bad for moaning as I know I am really lucky to be having this LO but it is really taking it's toll now and I have spent much of today either crying or shouting at DS and DH Blush...don't think the raging hormones help either!!!!

rebelwithoutababy · 03/04/2011 21:13

Happy Mothers' Day all! Good luck tomorrow mpops and bluetinkerbell and hope you feel better with some medication dannid . hugs to all xx

lovemylittlebean · 03/04/2011 22:24

dannid I'm on metoclopramide 3 times a day for nausea. Some days they really work, but if I don't get enough sleep/have a really full on day I still suffer the next day. But it has definitely been worth taking them - means I've been able to stomach more than just mango and lemonade! I almost kissed my Dr when she gave them to me, sooo relieved! You should definitely see what your Dr says.

Bluetinkerbell · 04/04/2011 10:48

Hi all,

Just come back from hospital, all is fine! Little bean has grown 4 mm over the weekend, have seen the heartbeat very clearly. Nothing to see on the scan that causes the bleed.
Feel so relieved now! They say I can go on with normal day to day activities, if the pregnancy is meant to be then it is so. I am however gonna take it a bit easy this week and rest a lot.
Gonna phone the MW tomorrow to say that I've changed my mind about the nuchal scan and that I want it. Hope that doesn't sound silly. I would just like some confirmation in a few weeks time that everything is still fine before we tell everyone we're pregnant.

FX for all with scans, I hope you all and your little beans will be ok!

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 04/04/2011 11:13

Phew that's a relief blue, really pleased for you... 4mm is a lot too!

Crawling · 04/04/2011 11:44

I am back from my scan my date is 14weeks and due October 4th Smile We didnt get good pictures though as bean would not stop moving Grin Is anyone else moving into maternity clothes?

Blue glad everything went well.

mpops · 04/04/2011 12:04

Bluetinkerbell and Crawling, great news! Had my emergency scan this morning as well and all looked good and they couldn't tell me why I was bleeding. So they just said to keep an eye on it and go back if I need to. They were very thorough so it was reassuring.

Bean's now 78mm!

Crawling, I'm on maternity jeans, yeah. Mostly because I'm really bloated, I think...

Bluetinkerbell · 04/04/2011 12:20

mpops waw that's good news as well! very happy for you! your bean is huge already Wink mine is only 27mm, but then again I'm only 9+4
we'll just have to hope that bleeding stops then!
I just phoned antenatal screening midwife, said I changed my mind about nuchal scan, said they won't do the scan anymore as I already had my dating scan... find that very odd, they would only do the blood test. She is gonna look into it now and get back to me within half an hour to see what they can do.
tbh I don't wanna know the riskfactors, I would just like to see at 12 weeks that my little bean is still ok, even when it's got Downs... I love it so much already... does that make sense?

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 04/04/2011 12:30

Dannid I feel exactly the same! I have been to doc she said that they try not to prescribe anything in 1st trimester and told me to keep food diary and eat something at least every 4 hours (I've lost a stone so far as not eating).
I've been using cbeebies as a babysitter for DS for weeks SadBlush and I can tell DH is getting sick of it too!
I'm back at docs tomorrow to update.

I also find that if I forget my multi vitamin a couple days in a row I feel much worse.

I have my scan on Friday and really excited!!

rebelwithoutababy · 04/04/2011 15:53

Dear all: such great news about scans for bluetink, mpops and crawling! Congrats to all. Sorry you are feeling awful Dannid and EdwardorEric: hope your GP takes pity soon....have you tried seasickness bands? Sorry if that sounds patronising when you feel so awful, but a really good friend had exactly the same experience, and wasn't given anything by GP and found them helpful....
My scan is tomorrow and I am terrified: I just hope I have as good an experience as you three girls (and the others) and everything is okay: I'm still so worried there will be an empty sac there...Has everyone who has had scans been given their Down's risk results as well? We get ours on the same day as the scan, so lots to think (and worry) about....
xx

mpops · 04/04/2011 16:01

Oh rebel, all the best for your scan tomorrow. I couldn't breathe this morning and on the way to the hospital for how worried I was. So I'd say try and have a relaxing evening today, or see some friends... Anything to get your mind off the anxiety.

We got our combined Down's results 45 minutes after the scan and it was good news but bear in mind that, whatever happens, you'll be in a supportive environment, with your OH and you don't have to make decisions. And also, you and the bean are most likely to be perfectly fine! Just try not to stress too much. Good luck. x

Bluetinkerbell · 04/04/2011 16:10

rebel I'll think about you tomorrow! try not to worry (ahem says me) too much...
listen to this song, it cheers me up sometimes when I worry too much Wink not really pregnancy related, but doesn't matter...

Edward I've been using Cbeebies a lot as well... DD doesn't seem to mind. It is just so tiring to keep her occupied constantly, she normally goes to childminder 20 hours a week, but DH has decided to send her 40 hours so I can have a rest this week.

crawling I am also in maternity jeans already. It is soooooo comfy! Or 'Nice and comfy' as my DD would say :)

I have got an appointment for nuchal scan on 21st of April, if all is ok then, as in there is still a baby with a heartbeat (we wouldn't mind a baby with Down's or any other disability if that makes sense) we'll be telling everyone on Easter at DD's baptism

BB3 · 04/04/2011 16:19

Yay for the good news on scan, Bluetinkerbell mpops you must be sooo very relieved. But yes, keep taking it easy!

Dannid travel bands might be a good start they helped a bit in my first pg.

Thought I'd change my name given the twins news. Is DS's 2nd birthday today and he is being very, very cute making me think that three of him would be great Grin (which I was not saying on Saturday when he was in the mother of all grumps!! Wink). We had his birthday party yesterday and I took the day off today so we could take him off to the beach today (his favourite place) where he splashed in his wellies and I am shattered. Really, really feeling the effects of doing too much in this pg. Didn't get it at all in the first one!

We didn't have the nuchal scan. When they saw it was twins they wanted to talk about my options for the downs tests as the blood tests don't give an accurate response and the risk of miscarriage are higher if I do go for the amnio - as such they didn't do the measurements there and then. I also know that for me personally (and I know that it's not the same for everyone), it wouldn't be something to make me terminate the pregnancy (especially with the two in there) and as such I decided it wasn't worth having the test as if I did and the risk was high, I wouldn't do anything but worry about it until the babies were born. And with a bit of luck, I am still young, and healthy so the risk should be fairly low. DH was really cross with me (he couldn't come to the scan) but I had to do what was right for me so he's ok with it now.

They should however do the test at the 12 week scan if you want it - you can push for it as it has to be done between 10 and 13 weeks I think (or something like that) so I would challenge your midwife. With DS we got the results in the post a week later although it may have changed now.

Right that was a longer than expected post! Best get off and go and have some birthday snuggles!

rebelwithoutababy · 04/04/2011 16:40

Thanks blue and mpops! Great tune btw: am going to hum it until tomorrow afternoon now....BB3 hurrah for your new name!
xx

Bluetinkerbell · 04/04/2011 16:51

BB3 the antenatal screening MW has booked us the nuchal scan in the end.
As I was only 9+1 when I had the dating scan. So we'll be admiring little bean again in 2,5 weeks! I don't really wanna know the risk factors of having a Down's baby, just like you, I just couldn't bear the thought of having to wait until 16 weeks before my next MW's appointment to hear the heartbeat. And I wanted another confirmation before I shout it out to the entire world!
Even if the risk comes back high, I would never agree with invasive tests or even termination, but that's just my opinion.
Enjoy your DS's birthday and snuggles!

rebel keep humming if it keeps your mind of things Wink

Crawling · 04/04/2011 17:04

rebel Hope your scan goes well tomorrow. Can I ask how many weeks pg are/did you tell your older DC?

rebelwithoutababy · 04/04/2011 18:08

I am 12+1 tomorrow. This is my first DC xx

CheshireDing · 04/04/2011 18:58

Can I join? DH and I are pregnant with our first baby, due 12th October (which seems forever away).
We had our 12 week scan last Tuesday and our Nuchal scan on Saturday, which was great to see the baby on a big plasma flat-screen -at least I could tell what was what then.
We are very excited as had a mc at the end of last year, told work today but they did not seem too excited. Never mind.
