Penelope I've also been having more period-type pains recently, i think I'm 12+3 ish. Someone said to me that even though you're pregnant you might sometimes feel period-like symptoms near your normal cycle date, I definitely still get spottier!

I'm having my scan tomorrow and am getting a bit more nervous now! Quick practical question, what's the best thing to wear?? Xx

mumtobee · 31/03/2011 13:28

Tiny Eyes - Good luck with your scan tomorrow - in terms of what to wear you'll need to undo the top button on your jeans/trousers, and pull your top up, so anything that's not too tight is fine I think! You might feel a bit exposed if you are wearing a skirt/dress. Apparently the gel can stain too so nothing too light or too special - hope that helps!!

Tinyeyes · 31/03/2011 13:59

Thanks mumtobee, fingers crossed! Also I've heard a lot about having to drink loads beforehand, and I'll be there for a few hours as I'm doing blood tests first. What did you do?

Sorry if I'm worrying about tiny details, I can't think about anything else today!

Alicebw · 31/03/2011 14:17

Good luck with your scan tiny eyes. It is a good idea to drink loads, I did and was desperate for a wee but seeing the scan was worth the bladder pain lol! You'll be fine.

apples82 · 31/03/2011 14:19

My MW told me to have a full bladder, as it pushes your uterous up so they can scan it easier. MW did say that they push down with the wand quite hard, so I guess I can't have that much to drink as i'll be peeing myself!!!

Tinyeyes · 31/03/2011 14:23

Ha ha I'll try and hit the happy medium! When is yours apples?

apples82 · 31/03/2011 14:27

Mine is on Tuesday morning- nervous!!! But excited beyond belief Smile

Alicebw · 31/03/2011 14:34

Good luck both of you

Bluetinkerbell · 31/03/2011 14:38

Having my scan tomorrow. can hardly wait!
Have had some brownish spotting today and a few days ago, been very busy though and running around a lot, so having a rest on the sofa now.
DH said I should go to GP but I said he shouldn't worry it's probably nothing as it is not bright red and constantly. Very sweet of him though.
Sometimes I can feel a fluttering feeling, has anyone else experienced it? It is my second, and you do feel the baby quicker than with your first, but still... my DH doesn't believe it is the baby I can feel.

LittlePebble · 31/03/2011 14:39

Hey all. Good luck with your scans Tinyeyes and apples.

Had my scan today and all went well - we are low risk and there is a baby in there! Grin. Can't believe how much of a little person it is already at one point it looked like it was trying to suck it's thumb (although not sure if thats physically possible yet). Cannot concentrate at work now wish I'd taken the whole day off not a half day.....

Alicebw · 31/03/2011 14:40

I don't know whether it's fluttering I feel or gas lol. TMI. Hope everything is ok Bluetinkerbell.

I'm having real trouble sleeping at the moment. Sleeping on the sofa so I can keep my legs raised. Don't think OH is too happy. Anyone else having problems.

apples82 · 31/03/2011 14:43

Do you find out at the scan then what risk factor you are?

I know they're doing the nuchel fold test during my scan, I didn't realise i'd get told then and there whether I was low or high risk.

LittlePebble · 31/03/2011 14:52

apples yes they work it all out at the scan if they have your bloods there. It's great because you don't have to wait so can finally relax. :-)

LittlePebble · 31/03/2011 14:58

Bluetinkerbell sorry must have x post - hope all goes well tomorrow x

Bluetinkerbell · 31/03/2011 16:42

thanks all, will let you all know how it went! and it won't be an April Fools joke Wink
Alicebw I have lots of trouble sleeping as well! I feel very hot but as soon as I move the duvet feel cold again and very fidgety legs.

Alicebw · 31/03/2011 16:52

Glad to know I'm not the only one. Thanks Bluetinkerbell.

I can't wait for the end of the day. Bring on 5.30

chocolatehobnobs · 31/03/2011 18:37

How exciting scans all round. Congrats little pebble! Poor Alice!

seasaltbaby · 31/03/2011 19:34

Got scan date through today-on 13th April (hope not bad omen) was sooner than I thought but still seems ages away!
Lovely to hear everyones scans going well & good luck to those coming up! Yay for all our little beans :)

PenguinArmy · 31/03/2011 19:42

right I had my scan today so am diving in here (I did add my stats on the other one a while ago)

This will be DC2 and am nearly 12 weeks.

I've been lucky and not really had any symptoms (last time I had extreme tiredness). This time round I probably had the same but with a stressful job and a 12 month old who has never slept through, I just didn't have time to notice.

tbh I probably won't back read and just get to know people from here.

I have started to read the tandem feeding book

LadyBonbon · 31/03/2011 20:29

Hello everyone!

I've actually been lurking here for ages but had a miscarriage in Nov and so have felt reluctant to post, but had twelve week scan yesterday and it was amazing!! Tiny baby all flailing and having a great time in there!

Was hard though because they were using the scan room in another part of the hospital as well as it was free and it was the one I'd been in when I was scanned with my miscarriage. I burst into tears when we went it. She asked if I wanted to be in another room but I just wanted to see right away, and she couldn't have been fast enough reassuring us.

Anyway, my due date is 12th Oct. Exciting!

Bluetinkerbell · 31/03/2011 20:45

sorry maybe TMI had some red bleeding earlier when I went to the toilet... very worried now... phoned up NHS direct, they were very helpful and said it was good I phoned them, they've sent my details to the out of hours GP practice who will hopefully phone me back soon. I'll let you all know what's happening.

PenguinArmy · 31/03/2011 21:09

tinker I'll be thinking of you. I've had intermittent bleeding this pg and it still doesn't feel real yet as I didn't have it last time. The waiting part of uncertainty is absolutely horrible.

Bluetinkerbell · 31/03/2011 21:26

thanks Penguin! Doctor just rang, nothing they can do to stop the bleeding, if it does get worse I need to go straight to A&E, but as I have my scan tomorrow I just need to mention it then so they can check what has caused the bleed.
now I have to try to get my mind to rest and get some sleep...

mumtobee · 31/03/2011 22:08

Bluetinkerbell - Hope all will be ok at the scan, good thing it's tomorrow, not too long to wait....thinking of you, take care!

Bluetinkerbell · 01/04/2011 10:41

one hour to go... drinking my 1.5 pints of fluids!
I normally don't drink very often during the day so it is quite an effort Wink
