Crawling & Penelope we're definitley going to find out the sex at the 21 week scan. We did with DS and it was a good thing IMO. I was convinced it was going to be a girl and DH was being really irritating and saying it would be a boy so we found out to prove him wrong... although it proved me wrong. I spent the rest of the day in shock! Don't think finding out at the birth would have been good for me!!

Wow, even more people joining. We must fill at least a double decker by now. :) And more twins! I wonder if any more will appear now that the scans are starting.

Renaissance227 I've been having dizzy spells right from the start. I did last time too. They're usually when I stand up too quickly or if I'm hungry, my blood sugar and blood pressure are well within normal, it's just part of pregnancy. Luckily there's lots of filing cabinets in my office for me to grab hold of till they pass. :o

We won't be finding out the sex. DH and MIL wanted to last time but I said tough, no way not ever! It's the only real surprise you get in life.

I was convinced I was having a boy last time. I didn't get the "It's a Girl! " announcement from anyone. I saw and said it myself, then kept repeating it in shock while she was whisked away and checked out. She had a "true knot" in her cord and had passed meconium so they were quite concerned. Thankfully she's fine.
I spent the next few hours repeating "I've had a baby girl" to myself every so often with a big grin on my face.
I've have 2 people so far say they think I'm having a girl. My clairvoyant friend, and DD...who hasn't even been told I'm pregnant yet. It's just wishful thinking on her part. :o I don't mind either way, but a girl would be cheaper as we'd not have to buy any new clothes :o
4 lots of our friends had babies in a 2 day period last week.... all boys, so we're probably due some girls to even it out.

TallyBear · 29/03/2011 22:00

I can't believe how many people are on the bus now. And some twins too which is fantastic (even though the thought of one baby at a time is scary enough to me!)

So sad that we are losing a few already. Been there and I know how devastating that is, but there is light at the end....

We had our first mw app today; mw is lovely and very understanding. Hopefully will get our scan in the next 2-3 weeks (I'm 9+6). Desperate for it (time is dragging) but also scared - will be hard to go back into that room again.

As for learning the sex, I'm undecided so happy to be lead by dh. (Is it just me or does it seem like people think you are wrong for wanting to find out in advance? The 'as long as it's healthy I don't mind' argument but you can still care about it being healthy and want to know. It's not like you are using gender selection.) Rant over....Wink

drivencrazy · 29/03/2011 22:22

BB2 congratulations.

I've been having dizzy spells since the start i seam tog et them more if im over tired or haven't eaten much. I'm conviced everyone will know im pregnant before ive had my scan due to a blabbermouth Angry and the fact i seam to be getting bigger by the hour i feel massive!

Penelope1980 · 30/03/2011 06:52

Does anyone else about as far as long as I am (13+6) still have belly ache? I've had it come back in the last few days and hate it - it's less crampy than before and a bit sharper pain. It's not a problem, but you know how we worry Smile

Renaissance227 · 30/03/2011 09:13

bilblio Thanks for that. Was starting to worry! Glad it's all just normal Smile

sunface · 30/03/2011 10:06

hi all, well we told our 2 other DC's last night and i was close to tears as they were both delighted and jumped around the room for about 5minutes.... it was so lovely and such a relief to be able to tell them! Sure they'll both forget all about baby from here on in mind you!!

Penelope i've been getting the odd sharp pain in my tummy too, could it just be things stretching about in there do you think?

rebelwithoutababy · 30/03/2011 10:18

penelope I asked the mw about my cramping pains and she said it's just everything stretching and moving and unless accompanied with bright red bleeding, not to worry. If it goes on, might be worth just getting urine checked to make sure not UTI? Glad your DCs were pleased, sunface! And what great news we have more twins on the bus! 6 days and counting to scan....trying to maintain sanity for a few more days...xxx

Carolinemayday · 30/03/2011 12:27

OK, so this is my first foray into mumsnet. Due 1st October, so may not be a permenant passenger on the bus. Does that matter?? Scan 1 week ago, so now 13 +5 and bump has popped! Anyone else haviong the same thing?

Alicebw · 30/03/2011 14:12

When you say bump has popped, do you mean it's gone? Mine ahsn't I wish it would. I can't sleep properly already cos my belly is getting in the way. I've already put on a stone and feel rubbish. Woe is me! On a good note I just had a call about a potential interview for a job tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

mumtobee · 30/03/2011 14:59

So relieved to have finally had my scan!! Everything is fine and lovely to see him/her bouncing around in there. Too early for the nuchal fold test yet, so going back in a couple of weeks time, but definitely ready to announce it now!! :)

apples82 · 30/03/2011 15:17

What did they put your due date as mumtobee, was it much different to what you had thought?

KnitterNotTwitter · 30/03/2011 15:37

Alice I suspect Caroline means popped out rather than popped off! Mine did that with DS... nothing one day - huge belly the next!!

mumtobee · 30/03/2011 15:38

apples - Only a day different to what I had predicted, but could have been up to two weeks earlier so wanted my scan now so I didn't miss the NT timescale.

apples82 · 30/03/2011 15:49

Ah, well CONGRATULATIONS! :-) You get to see your bean twice this way Smile

rebelwithoutababy · 30/03/2011 16:55

Good luck with interview Alicebw!

chocolatehobnobs · 30/03/2011 17:44

Lovely to hear how happy the dc are sunface,
Apples - I know you live near me from another thread - I could't get a scan at smh for week 12 the week I'm off work they are too busy. Mw phoned today to say jr are having problems too fitting me in ! I work away from home during the week and wanted to take my mum as a treat when she comes to stay. How diasappointing!

Fleecy · 30/03/2011 18:09

crawling I also have SPD ? have suffered in both previous pregnancies. Unfortunately it?s hormonal rather than things being misaligned so physio doesn?t really help but keeping my hips in line, minimising use of the buggy and wearing a support belt all make a difference.

Had my scan today ? only one there, unlike bb2 Smile but I also had a consultant?s appointment and am booked in for a section at 39 weeks due to medical history. Had vaginal deliveries before so a bit nervous about it but the plus side is my due date has moved forward to 3 Oct!

Penelope1980 · 30/03/2011 20:16

Thanks for the reassurance ladies Smile

Crawling · 30/03/2011 21:02

Thanks fleecy so sorry to hear you suffered it twice before, I was lucky on my first two but I knew of it and always thought about how hard it must be. Glad your scan went well.

chocolatehobnobs · 30/03/2011 22:43

Colleague looked at my tum and asked if I am pregnant very loudly! Was a bit shocked but it means the little bump is really there!
Congrats on the scan mumtobee!

Fleecy · 30/03/2011 22:56

I think it's great when someone is confident enough to ask if you're pregnant, rather than hinting - lovely to look properly pregnant rather than getting fat Smile

Yes crawling it's quite literally a pain but I am only getting the odd twinge this time so far and determined to keep it that way for as long as possible. Am learning to sleep on my side again...

KateeHasABunInHerOven · 31/03/2011 08:27

Fingers crossed for you AliceBW x

Waiting for my bump to pop, MW said my 'bump' was just me yesterday... though as I haven't put on any weight (other than on my double chin it seems) I'm presuming I must have lost weight and a lot of it is water or something. And the extra three stone on my chest Grin

Will be nice to have a proper bump, sigh.

Was wondering what everyone was doing about seatbelts in the car at the moment? What prompted this was there was a milk float going down the dual carriageway this morning 50mph limit and DP had to do practically an emergency stop when he realised it was coming up. Seatbelt was over my tummy (presuming baby is still under my pelvic bone) and its quite sore now as it got quite a jolt. I know you are supposed to wear seatbelt under the bump, but what about in the first trimester?

Sorry to hear about the SPD... don't know what I'll do if I get it, our house is all stairs! eek.

apples82 · 31/03/2011 09:02

chocolatehobnobs how annoying. I'm booked with Horton in Banbury, and they sent me a letter in 7th week to confirm scan when i'm 12+1. Give them a try maybe Smile
